I fucking hate how Getaway is so mischaracterized in the fandom. It’s so obvious that half of the people here only read MTMTE for the ships.

I’ve seen so many people say that Getaway is a pedophile. How? Tailgate isn’t a child, he’s a grown ass man. If Tailgate is a child, then wouldn’t Cyclonus also be a pedophile? He isn’t a child though, so it’s not a problem.

What is a problem is that the fandom takes all of his reasons for doing what he did and erasing them completely, only leaving the fact that Getaway is an evil child-lover.

Getaway is a bad person to everyone else, but to him, he is righteous, he had to do all of these things because Megatron—the one who started everything! The one who was always shown as evil!—was on the ship and was getting redemption.

Getaway’s first moment alive was getting dropped into a battle field, his first emotion was fear, the first thing he saw as he opened his optics was dead bodies. So, obviously he is going to want to get revenge.

He shouldn’t have groomed Tailgate, he shouldn’t have fed his crew to Sunder, he shouldn’t have made people who trusted him into spark-eaters, but he isn’t a pedophile.

In conclusion, Getaway isn’t a pedophile, he is a well made character with feelings and thoughts that are quite obvious throughout the comic.

Currently thinking about IDW Megatron. I haven’t read all of the comics but I’ve heard that the end of his arc is a trial that doesn’t tell you what his sentence is— prison or execution— but his arc is beyond amazing. They take this criminal, this violent warlord, and they make him face his crimes and make him a person to you. Everything he did to harm the universe gets kinda shunted to the side in your head because look, he’s got such a fun relationship with the other characters on the Lost Light. It’s funny to watch him interact with idiots and to get involved in their shenanigans. He’s become such a good guy!

Then they hit you with everything he’s done. Transformers lore is beyond complicated and difficult to explain but there’s a planet where the Cybertronian grim reaper lives and there’s a statue for every Cybertronian who has ever lived. Around each statue, there are flowers made of residual spark energy— I believe each flower takes ten or so sparks to make. These flowers represent every life that has ended by the hand or order of that Cybertronian. The crew of the Lost Light visit this planet.

This is Megatron’s statue.

You’re faced dramatically with the full impact of what he’s done, how many Cybertronians he’s killed— I don’t know for sure if this includes other beings in the kill count, but this alone… is daunting. He feels remorse, but is that enough? Can any one person make that decision? Do you, the reader, have any right to decide that someone this covered in the blood of his victims can live or die?

They heal him and what hurts most of all is that you can’t decide even after everything he’s done and everything he’s done to redeem himself. He proves over and over again that he’s changed, but where is the point where your sins are beyond true redemption? Is there such a point? Does he have the right to live and enjoy being the better person he’s become after so many have died at his hand?

You don’t want him to die, but you can’t justify him living once he finally faces judgment. You can’t be the hand that either deals justice or withholds it, and evidently the writers decided they can’t be either, because this is the end of his arc

IDW Megatron is such a wonderfully complex character, and even though it was a huge undertaking to read up to where I did (my ass did NOT finish those comics lmao), it’s been four years and I’m still shaken over how he was written. God

These headcanons will be for Megatron , and Ultra Magnus !

Let me explaine what Misophonia is ! Misophonia is when specific “trigger” noises cause strong emotions or reactions.

𝑴𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏

The bot would find out pretty early on about this. Probably from a time when he dropped a glass of visco on a floor.

Poor bot. He saw you flinch and your breathing pick up quick. He was confused as to what caused you to freak out so hard but he wasn't gonna just stand there and watch you.

Already picking you up close to his faceplate telling you your okay and nothing was wrong. He trying his best to calm you down.

Small head rubs and a worried bot calming ya down.

Would easily move you and him to his quarters to get some rest and relaxation.

He would ask for more incite on your situation explaining your backstory about why sounds of broken glass triggered such reactions out of you.

Your ashamed. Thinking he wouldn't understand much about such anxiety but he understands. He hasn't had said experience but he gets it.

Old bot holding your hand in his servo as he speaks about how he would always be there if you need someone to just vent to and come for comfort with these types of things.

Forehead kiss and possibly a nap ! He will hold you to his chest the whole time. He just wants you comfortable in the ship.

𝑼𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒏𝒖𝒔

He never took notice you much. Not intentionally but most cause he was always busy with his work around the Lost Light.

How he found out was kind of shocking. It was during a meeting and you were already tired , half awake from being on the ship. A loud ticking sound taking your mind off him and the rest of the crew. Sweaty Palms , eye watery and slight breathy voice as you ask to leave.

Be fore he could really answer you rushed down from the small bar table of swerves and down the corridor.

The rest of the crew didn't think much of it , but Magnus was worried. Excusing himself out of the bar as he begins to search for you. Which makes searching more difficult cause your a small human ! You can crawl into the most weirdest of spaces !

And that you did. You were hiding in a crevice near a wall as Magnus searched. Soon hearing the faint shakey breaths of your voice as he called for you.

You responded lightly still shaken up by the memory of that ticking in your head. Magnus taking a moment to think about such situation. He doesn't say anything but just kneels down offering his servo as some kind of comfort he'd think you'd want. He doesn't even move. He stays there watching you as you calm down.

After some time you come out looking at them as you try your best to explain your alright. Magnus doesn't ask about the backstory to your anxiety. He respects your personal life but he also worries if your truly alright.

You would eventually explain to him your situation and he would instantly find ways to accommodate to you and things. He just wants you to feel comfortable as a member of the ship.
