Prof. Green Oak's Playlist
I explained the reason for each song to be in the playlist under cut. Most are either because of vibes or lyrics that remind me of Green/His relationships, and some are assigned by friends :)
IDKHOW, Do It All the Time
Mostly about his teenage/young adult years. He's taking your girl and making her his, beware! Back when he was (surprising more) reckless. Also, by the ending when he says "I don't wanna do it but I'll do it 'cuz I do it all the time" can easily be about Green's "toxic" behaviors that he was aware to be bad but was his only way to cope...
2. IDKHOW, Social Climb
Same thing as above! Huge Green Vibes on "But if the lights don't stop me, no one's got control of what I do" as well.
3. ARCTIC MONKEYS, I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor
Oh you can bet Green's a flirt specially on parties and raves etc! Used to be even more when he was younger, on his 20s, before taking up the laboratory. I usually think of his ship with an Ethan where they met years after HGSS in a party...
4. DAFT PUNK, Robot Rock
Purely vibes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ He shares this music with Leo Mew. Do picture him vibing with his sunglasses on to this.
5. MAFUMAFU, いかないで
Assigned to Green by a friend! This music talks a lot about pursuing someone and asking them to not leave. Do I need to say it's Green about Red or Leaf?
6. SILENTROOM, NULCTRL
Pure vibes as well. I like giving him music that you'd listen to in parties :)
7. ROYAL BLOOD, Sleep
Oh Dear now we're getting to Green's Anxiety Crisis music lol. This one is open but you could say some sections of it, like "I've waited so long, Forever counting down, Thinking of all the ways I could get you back around" could be about Red... Left on his own, he doesn't wanna sleep.
8. ROYAL BLOOD, Little Monster
Much like the first three songs in this playlist, Green being a flirt but more sensual this time. I love him and I love royal blood what do you want from me
9. ROYAL BLOOD, Careless
Another Anxiety Crisis Music!!! Everything in this song screams Green Oak. "I wish I cared less but I'm afraid I don't" ???? THAT'S HIM. That goes for all his ships because he needs to go through the "they don't give a single fuck about me/they absolutely hate my guts" phase every time. He's also very prone to thinking he's NOT a good partner and his loved should, like, run away.
10. LAZER BOOMERANG, Time to Pretend
Vibes only but specially the Reguri in Alola vibes. Green driving his convertible with Red and Pika by his side, sunset behind them, all in a synthwave fashion....
11. ROYAL BLOOD, Lights Out
Third Anxiety Crisis Music. I feel like this one is more about an specific Ex that certainly traumatized him back in Kalos. Oh if she could see him now, looking all manly and handsome. She's not so hard to forget with all the lights out, though...
12. NANO, All Eyes on Me
Vibes and some of the Lyrics. It feels like a younger, teenager Green feeling all powerful and smartass with his new life in Kalos.
13. Champion Blue Encounter Music
DO I NEED TO SAY ANYTHING? When I first played SuMo (I did it specifically to reach the battle tree and see them all grown up) and this started playing I felt so strongly I cried a little. oof.
14. YUNGLIXO, Sombra
This is a PT-BR Song. I feel like this one has some transgender subtones when he sings about not recognizing the person in older pictures or the person in the mirror, etc. It also speaks about not knowing yourself and feeling lost. I think this is about that phase in Green's transition in which he's in the middle of it. He's not like he used to be before it but he's still not like how he wants to be, yk.
It also speaks about not having a self-esteem and how it leads him to bad paths, because he feels like there's a void where he should be.
This song is really beautiful. Shoutout to the line "All the time I spent brooding I should've spent switching channels".
15. YEAH YEAH YEAHS, Heads will Roll
Another with the vibes and the party/rave mood. Also his head did roll once HAHAHAHAHA
16. THE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS, Video Games (Cover)
Assigned Reguri Song by Kyle. "It's you, it's you, Everything I do" and "He holds me in his big arms, drunk and I am seeing stars" .... oh I am mentally ill for them. Heaven is a place on Earth with Red yeah.
17. LAST DINOSAURS, Apollo
This one is about when Green decided he didn't want to be a Gym Leader. "My mind is made up, I'm willing to come down and wake up". That life isn't for him! He felt like staying there, a place offered to him because he lost to Red, because Giovanni wasn't there anymore, simply filling a hole, a consolation prize for failing on his efforts. He decided to pursue his (other) dream.
Also, for he "One more time, I need to see you one more time" as when he felt like maybe he should climb Mt. Silver to say goodbye to Red before spending a decade away. (He didn't)
There are some small transgender subtones on this music too. He's ready to be someone else, someone he wants to be and can feel proud of himself, no more letting others dictate his life. No need to feel like he used to, unhappy with himself, with his image...
18. CARPENTER BRUT, Hairspray Hurricane
Assigned by Cas. I like to think, when Cas Red and Green have that flying battle, THIS WILL BE THE BACKGROUND MUSIC. Also the name is just... Green. A hairspray hurricane every morning to get his hair like that!!

So I (M17) was reading over the yearly letter my best friend (M17) sends me before heading off on his own for the Winter. I had just been on a grand expedition myself just the Winter prior, and this time I was feeling particularly… yearny…. I don’t know. Anyway, so I packed up my boots and just a few commodities in my backpack and set off the the dangerous mountain scape that seals off my hometown from most of society. I traveled for days, so much so icicles formed on my face. By the time I finally scaled these thousand meter rocks I found the place my friend hermits during the season. It was a real cozy cave, and he had a fire going. Boy was he surprised to see me haha. So anyway he let me make myself at home and all was well but just as I thought we were getting to be comfortable together like we usually are in the Spring, he started to get all mad at me!! He pushed me away and thought we were better off apart :( Gods, I know he’s right, it was his personal time and I invaded it, even if I did miss him. But I’m a stubborn bastard so I went and found my own cave and started a fire (very cleverly) without him. But I may have gotten a little frustrated with the process (what are you supposed to do with dried beans?!!) and he came to save me, even though we were supposed to be fighting. But then!!!! He fell!!! That beautiful son of a bitch nearly became a snowball. Luckily he found a ledge, and I tried to find a rope to save him but got stuck too, whoops! 😅 but then we had a heart to heart in this blizzard… he told me he missed me too. Maybe it’s silly but at that moment my heart was hattifattener seeds and he was the moon. I really did think he was going to confess his love then—but my mom saved us from the cliff in the end, and I went home. I don’t know. Looking back I feel like such an asshole. I know the Winter is the time we need apart. And I intruded on the place he goes to be just himself. I just missed him, I dunno. AITA?
Edit: I got another letter from him. Delivered by some squirrel, isn’t that funny? He told me to meet him up there again. We saw the Northern Lights. They were beautiful.

Disclaimer: this is taken into a 97-103 bpm since even if it's 100 bpm, stayin alive (the most common example) is at 103~104 bpm so I'm comfortable enough giving myself a ±3 bpm margin.
1. Chronosaurus - SKZ, if I ever need CPR, you better be singing this as you do it. Also this is arguably at 200 bpm but I do prefer 100 as it's just easier to keep track of.
2. Side effects - SKZ, this one is at 97bpm so at the limit but if you want to use it as a reference, it may be better if you do it a bit quicker than original tempo.
3. Awkward Silence - SKZ, okay so this is technically 200 bpm BUT that means it also works at 100 bpm so I'm gonna count it here.
4. Question - SKZ, I don't listen to this one often but I still enjoy it so it's here.
5. Fascination Street - The Cure, THIS SONG IS SO FREAKING GOOD OMG but I doubt it is the best for CPR considering the beat isn't the most obvious. But it is exactly 100 so that's something.
6. Never Enough - The Cure, The problem is I reckon not everyone will think of this song first when someone needs CPR but you get bonus cool factor if you do. Also it's at 101 which gets another bonus point for a palindromic number.
7. In Your Room - Depeche Mode, again, another one that may be hard to do it to but damn is this song amazing.
8. Saint Bernard - Lincoln, the fact Lincoln has one makes me so happy since I am number 1 Lincoln trash but yeah, may be hard to do it since at the beginning the drum thing actually fall every two beats so you might end up doing it twice too slow.
9. Saturday - Fall Out Boy, these last songs will be FOB songs since I love them and the first one is an old one with a bpm of 98.
10. Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner, Fall Out Boy, I do have to point out this only applies to the futct version as the mhwabtbstmt version is at 93bpm.
11. This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race, Fall Out Boy, okay so once again cheating, this song is at 200 bpm so you just have to do it every two beats.
12. I'm Like A Lawyer With The Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (ME & You) - Fall Out Boy, this song is really cute as well so I'd definitely say yes to being "resurrected" with this one. Although I do have to note it is at the limit (97 bpm).
13. 20 Dollar Nose Bleed - Fall Out Boy, This song actually has one of my favourite drum moments ever so let's go lads. Also at 99 and I think my friend who likes astrology told me that meant soemthing but I honestly don't care enough to know what.
Honorable Mentions (a.k.a. 3 songs that were at 104 bpm):
1. Silent Cry - SKZ, I'm lowkey disappointed because everytime I listen to this song I just think of Han being really into it so I wish it had made it onto the list but life isn't fair.
2. Leave Me Alone - IDKHBTFM, Oh how I wish Dallon could have appeared on the list and yet here we are. If I ever make a part 2 I will go through some brobecks song but none in the IDKHOW repertoire made it (from the ones I listen to anyway).
3. How It's Going To Be - Gerard Way, I am so happy I at least got to mention this one because it is so good I could go on for days about it. 1000000000/10 would recommend.

1. What is the first song you remember hearing?
God this is gonna make me sound so old, but Achy Breaky Heart. I was like 4 or 5 years old and it was EVERYWHERE so I guess it's no surprise.
2. What is the first band you got into?
The first band I specifically being into would be Foreigner because my parents liked them.
3. Do you collect music on any physical format?
CDs and vinyls. I love collecting physical media. I love having something I can pick up and say "this has my favorite sounds on it"

Ooooh man, I think I gotta go with the handwritten thank you note I got from Frank Iero when I bought Barriers on vinyl.
