How do u pick your colors?? I'm always in awe of how pretty they are

this is so sweet. i really like getting comments about my coloring bc i do feel like i have a fairly good sense of color, but its also frustrating bc i really dont know how to explain it

heres a small demonstration abt my instinctual color choices; left is twilights actual colors, right is me coloring her from memory (trying to stay as faithful as possible to her actual colors as i could lol) and disclaimer i LIKE twilights actual colors. theres no right or wrong way to color. this is just how i do it

i think the first and most obvious thing i notice is that my version is more saturated than the original, and thats easy to replicate, just stay closer to the highly saturated colors in a palette. i think if i was to color with lower saturation though, it would be All less saturated colors, and not mostly saturated with a pop of hot pink yknow?

the second thing i notice is that my palette is much more monochromatic than the original (idk if thats the right word— basically i generally choose colors close to each other on the color wheel). her mane base is indigo rather than navy blue, and her highlights are a cooler purplish pink. also generally for me, lighter colors are warmer and darker colors are cooler. this is also shown in my shadows in highlights; the original uses darker or lighter shades of the same hue for its shadows and highlights, but i make the shadows bluer and the highlights yellower. thats basic color theory stuff though i think

finally i try to keep a good amount of contrast between all the colors, which i think comes from me making a lot of lineless art. the blue and purple in twilights hair are a little hard to distinguish when you take the lines away. idk what the technique for this is, i guess maybe just turn off your linework layer to see how your contrast is or smthn

so yeah! as always i dont really know what im talking about. everything here is just trial and error through drawing a LOT of ponies lol

So the thing with gym is that I was going for a good week and then i fell sick. and it kept happening back and forth until I got tired and irritated and said that i need to be consistent. And honestly? I love going to the place as well ! Plus I needed to get more muscle in cause... I wanna be able to lift more heavy objects. So me and my roommate were lifting this really heavy box and I couldn't get it over my head and nearly busted my skull but luckily they're stronger and taller than me so I was safe; I don't want to experience that again and that's why i decided to go to the gym. that and for mental stability and being fit as well ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ

My classes do get in the way of me going to gym and studies take up my time too and that's why i balance everything. Priorities take first place, write little everyday and when its ready, I post it.

during the adventures she def comes up with a way to keep them in touch via call or video or apparition or smth. they have to fall asleep on a call, she pops up mid-fight scaring him but that's okay bc she just took care of the engine while she was as it, or he just calls her and she's mid bath or wtv

I like all of my lessons for different reasons I’m going to give you all of them!!!

1st. drama class 🎭. I have my sister in that class so it’s pretty fun. and the younger version of dylan is in trouble is in that class too :DDD

2nd. ElA/English class 📝. my teacher is so cool !! she has this one section for fidget toys and I love fidget toys so I always get one before class and I always put it back when class ends too but you can just mess around with them all you want!! and she also has snacks for us in that class so if I ever get hungry yay! I forgot to get one today tho-

3rd. gym 🤸‍♀️. I don’t think i will like this class, this week was just easy though, and my teacher who is Mr. long ;) is so hot ;D but also the locker i have in the locker room is literally right next to that person that didn’t give me a good vibe.. but they were saying that will most likely be changing in bathrooms cuz uncomfortableness with other people. but i mean i didn’t really give them a chance so yea.. we might get closer but i have this feel that we will still be acquaintances.

4th. history 📜. i like history but also hate it. the teacher was saying that she will be teaching all kinds of history, not just the white men history, so i am excited for that <33 but i also love this class bc the boy that i am sitting next to in that class is so cutee!!! i talk abt him here <33

5th. lunch 🥙. i like it but i also hate it. i like cuz im with my sister but the food sucks ass. i tried it today and i just dont like it.

6th. science 🧫. uhh i don’t know anyone in this class. (i am in this class rn, we also have a substitute) but we going to be learning about genes and shit. so that sounds cool 😎

7th. math 🧮. my teacher teachs stuff very different then what im used to… idk how i will do in this class but i am good at math so yay!!
