| Bret, despite appearing on national television every Monday night, was never one to watch television himself. He attributes it to the lack of opportunity, but Owen is convinced that his brother has all the time but none of the interest. There was a time when it took Bret thirty minutes to realize Owen and Jim were discussing fictional characters in a TV series and not actual human individuals. Owen has never let Bret live that moment down.
| So, when Bret was introduced to the famous celebrity Shawn Michaels, the blonde's ego was knocked down a peg when Bret asked who he was.
| Shawn was invited over to host an episode of Monday Night Raw. Shawn happily agreed. He was a fan of wrestling ever since he was a kid, and the idea of being on WWF fulfilled a childhood wish. Shawn was instructed to wait in the gorilla but he wandered further backstage, curious.
| They first met backstage at catering, bumping into each other. Shawn turned to Bret expectantly, waiting for him to rave over his very presence like what people usually do. However, when Bret looked him over, gave a small wave, and said, “Hey there, man,” Shawn, for the first time in his life, was at a loss for words.
| “I’m Shawn.” Bret blinked, “Nice to meet you.” Shawn’s lips pursed into a pout, “Shawn Michaels,” he repeated as if it would ring any bells in Bret’s head. “The Heartbreak Kid, the Showstopper, the Icon?” Shawn continued, frustration building up as Bret continued to sink further into confusion. The Canadian’s eyes shifted to the side, “Okay…”
| Bret wasn’t blind. The man was easy on the eyes. Luscious blonde hair, blue eyes, that beauty mark right under his lashes. Shawn was gorgeous. But the more Shawn opened his mouth, Bret’s thoughts went from “beauty” to “brat”.
| Ditto, Shawn thought that Bret was the most good-looking man he’s met backstage so far. Which, when against the likes of Jimmy Del Ray and Doink, wasn’t that hard to beat. But Bret’s nonchalance toward him left a sour taste in his mouth.
| As far as Bret’s concerned, he thought this Shawn guy was some enhancement talent that had one too many chair shots on the noggin. But to his surprise, he found out that Shawn was a big-shot actor from Owen’s complaints of how Bret met him first even though he knew virtually nothing about the man.
| To Bret’s luck (If Bret would call it that), Vince sent Shawn to follow him around, much to both of their annoyance. Their relationship started off on the wrong foot, as one could clearly see. But Bret sucked up his pride and became the bigger person since it didn’t look like Shawn would be doing it any time soon.
| They tolerated their presence together. Acted like they weren’t detesting the very air they’re sharing. With Shawn being glued to Bret’s hip whenever a camera is shoved into their faces, they had no choice but to be best buddies. Barf.
| They started to warm up to one another when Bret had to teach Shawn some basic wrestling moves because, in true Vince fashion, McMahon had to pull some sort of match that involved Shawn to boost ratings.
| Shawn had to be Diesel’s manager for a championship ladder match against contender Bret Hart. After half an hour of punch-throwing, Shawn got tired of waiting and climbed the ladder himself to get the belt while Bret and Diesel were squabbling. Which made Shawn the WWF champion and through some shenanigans, Vince booked a triple threat ladder match to settle the situation once and for all.
| Diesel was all in it for the fun, Bret thought it was stupid, and Shawn just wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to die in the middle of it. Or worse: ruin his face.
| So that happened, and now Bret is teaching Shawn how to properly take a kick to the abdomen. Their training went well, Shawn would think. Bret would beg to differ. It took a while to have Shawn reluctantly take a bump instead of running out the ring the moment Bret charges towards him.
| "You're hitting me too hard!" "I haven't even hit you yet!"
| As much as Shawn would hate to admit it, he enjoyed his time with Bret. So much so that he and Bret practiced overtime. In the whole week they spent training, their meet-ups extended to having dinner afterwards. And by Sunday, they were glued to the hip by choice.
| Shawn enjoyed his ring gear the most, spending half their time practicing with Diesel just blinding the taller man with how shiny his entrance attire is. "You look like a disco ball." "Shut up, singlet."
| After Bret won the championship and Shawn only got out of the match with a scraped knee, Shawn wrote his telephone number on the inside of Bret’s wrist. Eager to hang out with Bret outside of work.

The sitcom "Mama's Family" had returned near the end of the 1980's with a new character, and that new character was Thelma Harper's seemingly teenage grandson Bubba Higgins.
"Mama's Family" was usually not that indecent of a television show but it did have a few bits of sexual innuendo and content.
Bubba Higgins was a teenage boy---and teen boys are notorious for being horny.
If it's Leif Cassidy you want...
In 1996, iconic wrestling tagteam the Rockers returned and reunited, but instead of the Rockers being Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty this time, it was now Marty Jannetty paired up with a wrestler named Leif Cassidy.
Leif Cassidy's wrestling gimmick was meant to be a 1970's teenybopper pop singer, and his name was a mixture of 3 70's teen pop singers.

Brian Pillman was finally back to wrestling again in 1997, and during that year Brian's character was often infatuated with you.
If it's Triple H and Shawn Michaels you want...
In August of 1997, Triple H and Shawn began to form together to eventually form D Generation X, and you were Triple H's valet and manager.
During a "Three's Company" episode in the late 1970's/on a "Mama's Family" episode in the late 1980's/on a "WWF Superstars" episode that aired in the summer of 1996/on a "Shotgun Saturday Night" episode that aired in 1997/on a "Monday Night Raw" episode that aired near the end of 1997, Jack/Bubba had met you and became infatuated with you.

You were standing in between Shawn and Triple H in a hallway during this "Monday Night Raw" episode that was filming and broadcasting you and them on television, whereas those 2 were staring at you with smiles on their faces.
Shawn and Triple H during this segment had their long hair hanging down.
The camera then cut to a shot of you wearing nothing but a towel that was tucked under your arms and covered your naked torso.
In this "Shotgun Saturday Night" episode, Brian began fantasizing about you wearing nothing but a towel that reached your thighs and tucked under your arms.
Likewise, that camera cut to just a shot of you dressed in nothing but a towel.
In each of these men's fantasy, you stared into the camera with a grin on your face and your hands holding the top of your towel, seemingly looking like you want to remove your towel off of yourself to reveal your naked body.
Your eyes batted your eyelashes while looking into the camera in this fantasy, your hands looking like you're going to unfold your towel and show off your nudity.
There are so many fantasies that these men could have involving you that sexualizes you.
The scenes of the fantasy that these listed men all had was interrupted when the camera immediately cut back to shots of these men with grins and smiles on their faces and daydreamy expressions on their faces, your fingers snapping at these men to pay attention to you.
You also repeatedly called Bubba's/Jack's/Hunter's and Shawn's first names, which caused this fantasy to be interrupted and then cut back to shots.
Shawn's and Triple H's/Leif's/Jack's/Bubba's facial expressions changed when your fingers snapped at them, their facial expressions paying attention to you but their mouths not smiling.
They were interrupted over you.

I’m going to be talking about some of the issues that I feel social media or people create when it comes to celebrities alleged sexuality, queerbaiting and sexualizing someone’s sexuality. The first issue I have is that people like to assume or push a sexuality on a celebrity. A perfect example is Shawn Mendes. As far as I know and what he says, he is straight. It bothers me how people will call him things like “fruity” or “sissy” because of how he swims. What if he’s actually straight and this spectacle people are making about what he is for nothing? If it is 100% confirmed that he is straight, people will hate on him and might even accuse him of queerbaiting. He can’t even say anything because then he could be labeled homophobic. This brings me to my next topic and how some celebrities will queer bait. I think that it’s not necessarily the celebs fault but it could be their teams or fan base that create this image. For example, in Ariana Grande’s song “Thank U, Next” she sings a specific lyric , “I met someone else/But this one gon’ last/ Cause her name is Ari”. Obviously writing out the lyrics, we can see she’s talking about self love but it sounded like Aubrey. People assumed she was bisexual. It also didn’t help when she did a song w/victoria monet, she said likes women and men and then came Break up with your girlfriend, cuz i’m bored mv. I think this isn’t really her fault because it was people didn't pay attention to what she was saying. I also think that hollywood knows that young society like to praise LGBTQ+ icons, movies, so tv shows, movies or labels will make 1 character gay or will allude to the artist being gay. It’s not like I'm trying to say I don’t want to see a character who is Lgbtq+, but some characters' entire storyline or personality ends up being stereotypes. I also think there are some celebrities who will use their sexuality to appear sexy, or appeal to an audience or to gain sympathy. There are also celebs who use sexuality to boost their careers but when it’s time to talk about the issues/struggles that LGBTQ+ face they are silent. Jussie Smollet created a fake hate crime to boost his career and get paid better. That makes me sick cuz I can only imagine the gay men that actually are harmed or lose their lives to this and he only did it to get 5min of fame. Olivia Wilde and Megan fox like to every once in a while bring up that they are bisexual. Olivia wilde has said that she would only date a women for only sexual pleasure. It’s like she was sexualizing lesbian/bisexual love and only making it seem girl/girl relationship could only be sexual. Megan fox also said she wouldn’t sleep with a woman who slept w/men because they would be dirty. She did admit it was hypocritical of her but she just kind of proved that she thinks women need to be clean. They are known as Bisexual icons but they don’t really advocate or talk about LGBTQ issues . I guess I could give Olivia Wilde some credit because in a movie she direct a movie where there was a lesbian female character. I’m not trying to say they have to be forced to speak up. But they are celebrities and have a platform, so why not use it to advocate for the people who are like them? I also wanted to talk about how fans will create gay ships w/ band members who might not even be gay such as Harry/Louis or Camila/Lauren. Until then, I want to say Happy Pride month. I hope that everyone in the LGBTQ+ community is safe and happy.I also want to say that I am sorry for the stupid and disgusting things that ignorant people say or do. Just know that all of you are strong and beautiful, amazing human beings.

Born in Memphis, singer/songwriter/guitarist, Billy Burnette spent most of his youth in the presence of father Dorsey and uncle Johnny (of the legendary Rock and Roll Trio). The Trio made the Rockabilly name famous by combining the name Billy and his cousin Rocky for the 1953 “Rockabilly Boogie” – thus making the term Rockabilly a household name. The legendary trio influenced a diverse array of Rock icons including: the Elvis, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart, Aerosmith, and Ricky Nelson. Elvis used to spend many evenings jamming with the band. It’s not surprising then that Billy started making music at the age of 7.
At 15 Billy picked up a guitar and began writing songs. At 18, he was only a week out of high school when he recorded an album with famed Memphis hit-making producer Chips Moman (“Suspicious Minds” and “In the Ghetto” for Elvis). In his early 20’s, Billy wrote songs for artists like Rod Stewart, Ray Charles, Roy Orbison, Tammy Wynette, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everly Brothers, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Glen Campbell, and many more.
In 1980, Billy met Mick Fleetwood (of Fleetwood Mac). The two musicians became fast friends and formed the band Mick Fleetwood’s Zoo in 1983. Soon after Billy began his journey as a member of one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Billy joined and toured with Fleetwood Mac between 1987-1995, appearing on many of their albums.
In 2003, Billy co-wrote a tune for Bonnie Raitt and Ray Charles called “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind.” This tune appeared on the album Genius Loves Company, which was the last studio album that Ray Charles recorded and completed. The album garnered 10 Grammy nominations and won Album of the Year.
A collaboration with Shawn Camp and Dennis Morgan became the hit song “River of Love.” George Strait recorded the tune for his 2008 album Troubador, and “River of Love” went on to become Strait’s 44th Number One hit single.
In the last few years, Billy Burnette has contributed his talents as a guitar player and singer on tours with legendary musicians Bob Dylan and John Fogerty. Additionally, he also collaborates regularly with the Mick Fleetwood Band.
Today, Billy continues to write, record and perform. He lives in Nashville and remains as passionate about making music as ever. I hope you enjoy the story of Billy Burnette's musical journey.

Mary Senese
Mary Senese passed away peacefully at her home in Kingston, PA on Sunday, July 9, 2023, after a long illness. She was 85 years old.
Mary was born to the late Marion Collins and Arthur Schultz in Noxen, PA in 1937. Her fiery red hair earned her the affectionate nickname “Red” among her siblings Joan, Arthur, Daniel, Ellen, and John. It was a fitting emblem for her exuberant personality and her zest for life.
Mary began her working life as a teen behind the counter at Percy Brown’s, an iconic 1950’s Wilkes-Barre market and cafeteria. After graduating from St. Leo’s High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College, she met the love of her life, Fred Senese, a U. S. Navy damage controlman on the crew of the U. S. S. Wisconsin. They were married at St. Leo’s Church in Ashley, PA in January 1958.
They had a long and remarkably happy marriage, raising seven children, managing Fred’s carpentry business, and cheerfully weathering many obstacles together over the next 33 years.
After Fred’s untimely death in 1991, Mary earned an associate degree in business data pocessing technology from Luzerne County Community College and re-entered the workforce. She worked at Offset Paperback Manufacturing for many years and then joined the IT department of Western and Southern Life Insurance. She retired in 2008 and lived quietly for the rest of her life in Kingston, PA.
Mary will be profoundly missed by her surviving children: Fred Senese, of Frostburg, MD; Jeffrey Senese and his wife Alicia, of Philadelphia, PA; Glenn Senese and his wife Debbie, of Pittston, PA; Maryellen Takacs of Kingston, PA; Liza Roper and her husband Ben, of Kingston, PA; and Leah Warenda and her husband Frank of West Wyoming, PA. She deeply missed her son Christopher, who preceded her in death in 1989.
Mary loved her grandchildren. She often invited them to sleepovers at her house, where she’d make funnel cakes and other treats with them. Her absence will be keenly felt by her surviving grandchildren, Ryan Senese, Brandon Senese, Shawn Senese, Chris Takacs, Dana Takacs, Michael Senese, Mia Senese, Kai Senese, Keiran Senese, Lauren Senese, Daniel Senese, Erin Senese, Rachel Senese, Frankie Warenda, Charlie Warenda and Joey Warenda.
Mary is survived by her dear sister Joan Gallagher, and her husband Martin, and their children Molly, Megan, Monica, and Martin Jr. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dalia, and her sons Lenny and Albert, and the children of her late brother Daniel: Marilyn, Laura, Joanne, Daniel Joe, and Paul.. She was preceded in death by her sister Ellen and her brother Arthur.
Mary’s final services will begin with a viewing on Friday July 14 at 4 PM to 7 PM at Hugh B. Hughes Funeral Home in Forty Fort, PA. Formal services at the funeral home will begin at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 15.
Mary’s funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10:15 AM on July 15 at St. Ignatius Church in Kingston, PA, the church she attended for the last 40 years. The mass will be followed by a procession to the gravesite at St. Ignatius Cemetery.

Mary never did anything that she didn’t want to do. Her honesty and her deeply rooted sense of right and wrong were legendary. If she had a problem with you, she would let you know about it. In the twilight of her life, when grieving the passing of friends and family, Mary would sometimes say, “Well. They had a life.” She said this quietly and matter-of-factly, not as a dismissal but as an admiration of a life well-lived, a life beloved.
Mary had a life. And Mary was beloved.

Throughout weekend one of Coachella, multiple concertgoers claimed the pair had publicly shown affection for one another — with paparazzi pictures even revealing them kissing. While multiple sources downplayed the idea of ‘Shamila’ round two to various outlets — assuring the kiss was “one-off” — an Australian journalist currently holidaying in Los Angeles has spotted them embracing in Venice Beach. She shared with BAZAAR exclusive imagery and details about their beachside rendezvous, alleging the pair seemed very much “in love.” Here’s what we know.

All signs are pointing to yes. Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were photographed walking down Los Angeles’ iconic Santa Monica boulevard on April 19 hand-in-hand. Australian journalist Jessica Rendall exclusively told BAZAAR she spotted the pair near Santa Monica pier while holidaying with friends.
“My jaw instantly dropped and he laughed and nodded at my reaction to seeing them together,” Rendall recalled to BAZAAR. Previously, insiders told Page Six Cabello and Mendes “remain friends” and “aren’t dating” following their time together at Coachella.
“They were holding hands pretty tightly and seemed very snug and in love,” Rendall continued to BAZAAR. “They were deep in conversation about something so I didn’t want to stop them and ask for a photo.”
After the duo passed her, Rendall turned to her friends who had also witnessed their reunion. Naturally, the travellers quickly whipped out their phones for a video.

The news follows Cabello and Mendes’ Palm Springs pash, which also saw a paparazzi video of them seemingly confirming they’re back together. In the clip, Mendes can be seen trailing behind Cabello as someone behind the camera asks the ‘Havana’ singer, “Camila, are you guys back together?” to which she mumbles, “Yes,” before saying it louder a second time.
Seems like it’s only a matter of time before we hear confirmation of Shamila’s return. Our bet’s on a glamorous debut at the 2023 Met Gala.
