#dndads #dungeons and daddies #my art #normal oak #link li wilson #taylor swift dndads #scary marlowe #im not doing the swiftli week cause i dont have time (literally procrastinating school stuff as im making this) but the angel/demon #thing gave me ideas and as such this was made #there is symbolism and thought here but also just shapes #so taylor has those little antena like his hat and hes a demon because of course and he has that thingy thats also his hat (and it has a #faint blue overlay because jodie/love as an anchor) and i borrowed the snmile from the nbdemon because its been on my mind and apart from #that hes just chuby and cute and fluffy #link is looongg and he has the most basic as to how i draw angels design i made his legs extra long cause soccer and i gave him orange #(Garfield+signature color)#and red (blood that is on his hands/his isssues/him not being as pure as he was once) and he has extra wings cause hes fast #i think he ended up looking kinda like those birds with the eyeliner (also his hands and feet being darkened #also allude to his “dirtied hands”)#theres normal whose a star because that's what i associate with him (more starfish looking because i wanted to give him dots to symbolise #acne and cause hes not goood at being an angel hes not an actual star his coloring make a teenie the teen T and the markings make him look #like hes wearing a tshirt he has little fire works that are suppose to be like cheerleader pompoms #scary is the most shapy one shes sharp and “edgy” i thing she ended up just slightly harpy like which i enjoy her not being fully colored is #because shes a shadow of her former self shes the least symetrical as well with the one wing and one eye #sooo yeah im a sucker for religious imagiery and symbolism #anyway i need to get to my actual work byeee

#rain world #dp spoilers #seven red suns #since i started out using in-game art as a ref for suns - not realizing the concept art existed -#i've been using nine dots #i might swap to seven though #it's easier to draw too. lol #ALSO. THE PINK MUPPET HAS YELLOW MARKINGS AND HIS SIGNATURE COLOR IS TEAL #the blue robot has red markings and her signature color is gold #NSH king of color coordination and we don't even see most of his design smh #part of me loves how inconsistent things are in rain world #do you want a solid design for moon?#a canon color palette for five pebbles?#no. they change between every single in-game piece of art #look at moon's antennae between each picture. look at them. look to the antennae #part of me is infuriated by it too #i tend to prefer when there's a solid canon to draw from #but i also enjoy how rain world is so interpretable #it makes seeing what headcanons are common in the community neat #and all the new ideas people come up with are a treat too #including everyone's interpretation of the characters' designs!

The binding of Mabel has Begun.

#I've printed half of the signatures of the first book.#it will be fourteen in total which i think is the biggest book I've bound?#worries me a little because i may have to round it which i don't really want to do.#don't love the paper I'm using but I need to use it up and I'd rather do it on something I'm not selling #i still have no idea what I'm doing for the cover. haven't even decided on how I'm going to bind it.#i was really hoping the inspiration would have struck me at this point but no luck #i want the two volumes to match but i don't want them to be the same #i think I'm going to hold off on the second book in case we do ever get another season #two volumes the same size will look nicer. and be easier.#been out of the book binding groove for a while so it's nice to ease back into it #even if formatting was HELL i don't know how you fic binders do it #bookbinding #mabel podcast

HUH good question. first of all i think he'd be a little discombobulated by the very experience of watching a tv show but personally i choose to believe he'd at least be happy he was made into one of the main characters?? and that so many cool and sexy insane people are obsessed with him now <3

having said that. as much as i love show!fitzjames they did nerf him down A LOT. they robbed him of the joyous whimsy that was such a characteristic trait of the real jokester supreme fitzjames (show!fitzjames also has little to no relationship with his irl lieutenant buddies which. sad.)

we also know now that. most probably. he was actually fully english so i can only imagine he'd be Not Pleased about the cairn scene to say it lightly lmao imagine you and your adoptive family making significant efforts throughout your whole life to disguise the fact of your illegitimate birth and then 150 years later some people make a high rating show where they babygirlify you not only spill your secret to the millions of people watching (or secrets, plural, and make you call yourself a fake as a cherry on top lol) but they also get it wrong and make it Even Worse (from a victorian englishman's perspective) like stop guys he's already dead lmfao

having said that. he would have loved the britannia costume and the your nails are a terror line. i know he would.

#a dnd continuation! more like an excuse to redesign their outfits and throw in douglas with them #if you compare the gameover/wendigo art and this one it looks like they grew up lol #for mandark i wanted to stick with his original design but combine his two iconic outfits into one with a fantasy vibe :D #his collar and pants is how i tried incorporating it and i honestly love his white collar but kinda sad i didn't know how to add his tie #a ruby gem gifted by dexter was placed instead #the last robe looked like a hoodie so i changed it to fit his cape from his og design to have more black on the outfit and point up collar #tried to add as much M's i could without looking tacky such as the gold one underneath the ruby which is also detachable #that allows him to take off the robe with ease #there's also a hidden gold m near his collar if you squint #mandark has M spilt on the back with golden lining and underneath everything is a long tight turtle neck #he wears a vest inspired by his leotard patterns which i love that it was caught and earrings with his signature M dangling from his glasse #lastly his staff which is inspired by his gun it's very multipurpose and his crystal ball can be removed and emit magic particles #mandark was supposed to have his elvish print on his clothing but i couldn't find a language alphabet for it #for dexter he's completely inspired by his fusionfall counterpart #his lab coat is lined with golden accents and wanted to add tech to his outfit so i add metal and circuit shoulders to honor his lab itself #the mirror of the shoulders is detachable and multi purposed such as a storage area and communication device similar to mandark's staff #i figured i'd keep the leather like previously for mobility and comfort compared to pure metal shoulders #he keeps a potion near his side for emergencies #then there's his necklace “MD” in dwarvish #i brought his wrench which wasn't considered much last time #dexter can press the button in the middle and quickly expand and vise versa for portability #quite honestly i gave douglas a basic outfit since i don't think he stands out in a fantasy world #his outfit is inspired by his originial clothes too mostly the colors #he does have a lil quirk of engraving D into things like puss in boots #sorry i made you basic human archer douglas LOL #im happy with it it literally took days researching and careful consideration of their designs haha #dexter's laboratory #dexter's lab #dexdark #flame draws

I was teaching Ophelia’s death scene this week and one of my classes spontaneously giggled when she died (because they are 16 years old and emotionally immature) and I said, in a shocked voice, “it is NOT funny” and they all insisted that it was and so I let it go but then the next day I showed them some Ophelia art, made them think about how sinister it was that her death happens offstage but is still described in such detail for the viewer, which tells us she was WATCHED but not HELPED as she died, and then played a clip from Branagh’s Hamlet of Kate Winslet singing a mourning song for her father and when I tell you how satisfying it was to hear a total and complete hush fall over the room

#teaching tag #Obviously I cannot control their emotions and I don’t try to. but I love to lay all the right groundwork for them to be moved #even if they don’t understand or forget it a second later #I can do that!!! let them have their moment of silly little reaction and then clear it away and make them look at the moment again #giving them all the context and support they need and don’t have on their own #and I have no idea if it works on a personal or individual level because it depends on what they let into their little hearts #but as a class i KNOW that it works. because of that signature hush #the same thing happened when I read the proposal scene from David Copperfield out loud #it’s happened with the end of the inferno. P&P Pemberley scene. teaching twelfth night #it’s my favorite thing to do in the entire world #to just sweep everything away and then re-build how to look at a scene #and the thing I LOVE about teaching high schoolers is that there’s the immaturity and the boredom etc. etc.#But underneath that there is a great stupidity ready to be taught #that is so much better than pretentious college age kids or hardened adults who already ‘know’ what it’s about #they have that grain of stupidity (more than a grain lol) that o’Connor talks about #that is the secret to letting things in #and I’m so passionate about showing them and I’m just getting better at clearing the ground and knowing what tools to show them when #and also —-this is A new thing I’m learning —-how to hold back my own emotions or reactions so as not to cloud it #whenever I start talking very matter-of-factly and very quickly and almost dispassionately about the structure of a moment #that’s so much better than me having the emotion because it gives THEM room to have the emotion #and that’s simply how they’re hooked #ANYWAY. as I said lots of thoughts thanks for listening wldkdkejejjejejejehe
