Some moments in season 3 of Young Royals that stand out for me ep.3
The day went on, I came back from work, recorded and sent my audition video for singing competition so I'm ready for another rewatch of episode 3, season 3. Let's go!

Simon telling Linda what she needs to hear
I mean - this is another unspoken fact most of us could see in season 1 and 2- Simon protect his mom and Sara for no matter what cost. We saw it with the bill from school after he took some extra lessons, we hear it now straight up from Simon.
Satisfying.
2. Running?
That was somehow a surprise for me. Like... he runs? Princes do that?!?!?! Kidding. But I immediately compared it to August's way of handling things... So... Wille is actually trying to help himself...? Wille why don't you go talk to Boris?
3. Safety first
Simon wearing helmet while going with Rosh and ayub on scooters. Finally.
4. Simon crying
I couldn't breathe. My friends needed to remind me to breathe. The way Wille diminished the comments meaning and left Simon alone with all that was just heartbreaking.
5. School Inspectorate arrival
I mean it's about the music again. My friend was like "what is it with this music!?", and another one screamed "what? the school inspectors are here! What is it you don't understand!?". And it has such a Skam vibe. I feel like this season is the most Skamlike of them all. What do you think?
6. Wilmon kissing on the piano.
Iconic. Very classic. I'm glad we have something like this scene with a gay couple. And it's so cool that this gay couple happened to be Wilmon.
Also Simon's hand, pulling Wilhelm down with him. Ooh!
7. Poppe!
I was just happy I see him again <3 But also, it was so good to see him there for Felice. And them talk.
Also, I don't know what is it with those fathers, but I could find some of my father in Micke and Poppe this season and that really warmed my heart.
8. THOSE HANDS?!
I felt like I shouldn't look. AND NOONE WARNED ME! Like really...
Why so fvcking hot gay?
9. Valborg
The music, the fire. As my friend said: Swedes are freaking wizards.
10. This moment
The whole sequence. Bottom Wille. But this moment. It makes me feel like I'm gonna pass out bc of the amount of electricity in this scene. But this exact moment is my favourite.
11. Micke
Heart attack. this is what this series does really good. Makes you feel what the character feels. I thought I will jump out of my body.
12. Simon sharing photo from 1st May
Like, after all of this... He's there, it's already ok. Why sharing it and causing more attention... Siiimoooon.

13. The end of the episode
Well... I have already seen it in a trailer, but the way it came in the episode... What did you said about breathing? Oh, I forgot to continue one.
Tomorrow is the day. Oh, I'm so sad I can't be in Stockholm. But I believe in ancient spirits that walk on this earth and protect us all, so mine will go tomorrow to Stockholm to hug some people who saved me by creating Young Royals.

Also. Favorite Merlin fic you've written and fics you wish you could find more of? 👐

I know you're either gonna be crying or laughing at this one joan, bc my favorite Merlin fic that I've written is Let Me Die, Let Me Drown, Lay My Bones In The Ground.
It's unpublished rn, but I'm hoping to post it soon! I worked so so hard on it. Not kidding. I worked harder on it than I did with my Let Them Be Brothers series. I had three people go through this fic and beta certain parts of it. So I had three people beta this fic. I wanted to test my limits and I really did go and test my angst and torture limits with this fic and, now, I've found that those aren't my limits and I can actually write worse and now I'm excited to see just how worse I can go in breaking characters.
I read the fic over and over and over again so many times that I've become desensitized to the angst and pain. I've searched through Pinterest writing tips, reddit writing tips, tumble writing tips and tips from my own notes to write this. I mean, I still feel like I can improve the last scene a little more but I'm taking a break from writing rn so we'll see.
Anyway, that's my favorite fic. It's nearly 40k and its a oneshot bc I found that splitting it into chapters messed with the narrative flow. Also, thanks again joan for continuing to beta it <333 ^^
Now... fics i wish I can find more of... hmm...
Well, generally, I wish I can find more gen Merlin fics 😅. The fandom is mostly merthur or other ships and I can't and won't read ships (except the ones that I've found to be safe). So yeah, I just wish I can find more gen Merlin fics. Or no slash ones.
But other than that, I would love to have fics where Merlin is in a defenseless position (like a slave, or captured by bandits, or restrained in some way physically or mentally), and not completely passive but not completely defiant and aggressive too. Just the bolder and more defiant bits being small or a touch above noticeable, but he's still very much restrained physically or mentally. And Arthur (either he knows Merlin or this is his first meeting) sees him and notices how compliant he is but also notices how he isn't completely compliant and is impressed by him, but also anguished for him and angry and protective too :))
OH! I also like fics where Merlin is in a position of power or authority (whether he likes it or not) and Arthur is gaping at him in surprise or pity or awe (and a sometimes, just sometimes, a touch of jealousy).
i would also LOVE to see more freya or freylin fics

I promised on twitter to give a review of movie red with a focus on FRobin.
Sadly there is not much to say about the movie FRobin-wise. So, I'll try to give an overall impression about the movie without giving (hopefully) any spoilers!
Film RED Review!
As said, there is not much FRobin in the movie, Franky and Robin stand beside each other once. But there were many scenes that were only short and so hard to analyse.
But compared to that there wasn't any shipable scenes for Robin at all! At least if you don't count the fact that she seemed to hang around Brook a lot (which honestly is in this whole debate a highly underestimated contender!!).
What I really enjoyed was the soundtrack! I'm normally not a fan of songs that I don't understand but "Film Red" has an amazing soundtrack and I don't mean the songs by Uta (Ado) but the overall motifs!
Some felt so familiar and I can't put my finger on and I can't recall the songs (my brain is more one for remembering stories than melodies).
Either way it was great because it really underlined the overall athmospheres of the scenes.
THIS IS NOT A MUSICAL! There is a lot of music but it's not a muscial!
Some things seemed illogical. There were a couple of scenes that made me think "excuse me? Who would act like that in that situation?" but compared to some other movies it was very linear and logical.
I heard before that the Strawhat crew is not as present in the movie but honestly, it felt better than some others. They all had the same amount of screentime, sticking together as a crew.
I liked that because in some movies you only get focus on a few characters and others are put on the backburner. So maybe the Strawhats overall weren't around as much (also because of the flashbacks to the story of Luffy and Uta) but it didn't feel like it! They all got to fight, they all got lines and they all worked together!
That is a HUGE plus in my book.
Which reminds me: I love Brook and good for him! Lmao
Anyway another point about this movie is something that might change the idea for some but... both Yasopp and Shanks still get the "Worst Dad" award.
Really... what the heck? XD I was not expecting THAT but yeah not going to say much more about it...
BUT SERIOUSLY?! ESPECIALLY NOT WITH THE SCENE SHORTLY BEFORE THAT?!
I WANT TO SAY THINGS! I CAN'T WITHOUT SPOILING STUFF. So I won't. God Damn It! XD
But! If you are a fan of Shanks, there will be at least two scenes where we get a full look onto his chest so look forward to that.
Also we saw a bit more of Shanks crew and how strong they are. Fascinating!
Another thing to look forward to are the second outfits for Coby and Helmeppo. I haven't seen a lot because the animation was very fast but what I saw looked really good!
One thing that got clear to me and that very fast was one plot twist. The second plot twist not so much... mostly because I hoped that would never be a plot twist in One Piece XD (I should have finished my fanfiction years ago gdi!)
But again, it was well done. Except that the whole thing could have been easily avoided xDDDD God, stupid idiots!
Special mention that Momonga was part of the movie. I love him.
Also holy shit Borsalino you crazy mofo!
Issho could have done more too... overall did the Marines not shine...
except Coby and Helmeppo! Also Blueno, suprisingly!
The BM Pirates that were there also did a good job! I despise Big Mom and her crew but the family-love the siblings have is really cute. Can't deny that. I had a couple of good laughs too!
Now on another note... the underlying theme overall is... like... serious. There are very serious undertones in the movie I won't get into right now because again that would be spoilers. But yeah... after the movie one girl said she almost cried and while I wasn't even near to crying I can understand if that movie touches you.
Last thing! I also now know what is up with this little guy and how Franky reacted to him:
Not really but also kinda what I expected. XD
Anyway let's give it two more months and I'll go deeper into the analysis if you want to hear it!

fanfic writers asks: 13, 25, and 30
13. hardest character to write
For me? Hmmm I think in the Ducktales world I’m thinking the most challenging character I’m trying to write is a tie. Of the characters I have written its mostly Launchpad and Lunaris. Of characters I hadn’t written yet, its Darkwing and Beaks. I really should attempt those two at some point but I’m just so scared XDDD. Launchpad because I want to write him with serious lines but its hard to form his character as a more serious type, I feel bad for using him as mostly comic relief. Lunaris because..I still don’t understand his motives too well. I feel like his invasion plan is more than just fear but I don’t have enough backstory to write it canonly. I can assume things. Like he was brainwashed by his father ever since he was a kid and that constant barrage was enough to turn him slightly twisted towards earthers. But.. I can really only guess at that point.
25. favorite line you’ve ever written
Oh boy this is a hard ONE. Lemme see if I can find it.
Annndd I came up with a few I liked for Various reasons here WE GO:
“Dewey felt like collapsing into the sand and letting the sea take him into its murky depths to be devoured by the seas overgrowing population of fish and sea monsters.”
I love it when I can write something so random people go wtf then laugh about it later. Besides, you have to admit, this IS something Dewey would say.
“Maybe bear wrestling wasn’t such a good idea.”
Again, a line that was so Webby and I loved the laughing noise I made when I wrote it.
“With a flaming punch, Magica’s magic was blocked by Scrooge’s cane as he held it before him as a shield.”
I really really liked this line because I could actually see it in my head. I could see the action and the line wasn’t awkwardly written!!!! I actually wrote a non awkward action sentence!! OMG!
Yes these are all from the second fanfic XD mostly because I already used my favorite scene/line from the first one in earlier questions. (Aka Lena’s line about not being able to go to the real world because she had no body ;_; jeezus that line gets to me EVERY TIME)
30. hardest part of writing
Hands down things I struggle with is description. Scenery and action is hard to write. Especially when trying not to use the same words over and over. I can only use words like flung, spin, kick so many times XDDDD At most sometimes I can’t remember what something is called and spend like 10 minutes googling what is that thing in the room that creates stars and planets on the ceiling. OH RIGHT. Augh. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to scrap things because I don’t know what they are called! (This goes for weapons too. Saying just a sword or gun is sometimes hard because I have a vision in my head but I DUNNO the name of the type of weapon!!!)

“I did not program you with a soft spot for the world’s biggest sorry case, you know.” He said finally, throwing a glare at one of the cameras for good measure. He could almost hear Rhodey’s laugh and his ‘oh you’re giving her shit for picking up strays??’ remark. Like Tony had a habit of picking up anything or anyone.
“Oh I’m sorry, Boss.” She remained quiet for a moment, just long enough to convey she was not sorry at all. And then, “Do you think Sarge would appreciate a star making set in red, white and blue?”
The bots beeped in agreement and Tony choked on his coffee,spitting it all over his shirt. Laughing out loud, reaching for a towel to dab at the stain.
“Hell if I know, baby girl.” He grinned, pulling off the ruined tank top over his head and throwing it away. Dum-E beeped and rolled towards it, clearly thrilled by the chance to clean. “Remember. You took the task of mommy-ing Barnes all on your own. You deal with it.”
“On it, Boss.”
One word: FRIDAY. The thing I never expected to love so much in this particular fic is FRI, and she’s an absolute DELIGHT to write in this. She’s cute, sassy, with a mind of her own and her Boss’ happiness in her “heart” and her interactions with Tony are literally the highlights of my work on this piece. I feel like the love they both have shines through here, between the snark, and the trust they have. I just really like this bit, ok? XD

H.How would you describe your style?
As born in blood, sweat and tears, most probably XD That charming joke aside, hm.
I think my style’s (for how it is now) is best summed up as quite decent, with a good grasp on characters once I feel comfortable enough to write them and a tendency to get a bit flowery, especially in more emotionally charged scenes. I keep reminding myself not to go full on purple prose, but I will admit to liking being more poetic more often than not. I may also ramble a lot and then have to break the sentences XD
I. Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (readingor writing)?
To be real, I don’t know if looking and reading the fluffliest fluffs of fluff to ever fluff is a guilty pleasure, but that is it in my books. Like, if anyone know me at least a bit, they know i can be an angsty lil shit - but give me 150K+ of sleepy mornings, soft kisses, fingers trailing through hair or grazing against each other when handing over a cup of coffee and I’m dead.

my additional thought (you haven’t asked, but i’m gonna do it XDD it was like 1.30am when i finished, my cat sighed heavily and i had to sleep since i wanted to catch up with live tweets from sydney oz comic con, since both Dom and Matto are present, it’s happening now btw. Matto is adorable, his imagination is insane, who hasn’t watched their con at Brisbane, go watch it just for laughs)
ok, back to movie. what i think didn’t work. and i say this from perspective of a person who kinda knows what it’s about, but i still haven’t read the books to know how close the movie was with story and cast.
number 1. cast was 50/50 imo. i actually liked that both clary and jace looked quite young and it was close to the vibes of YA novels. the thing is, if you take the cast separately they don’t look so bad, but putting them together feels odd. for example, jace &co should be like young, but he’s the only one looking young, others look quite old. also i think whoever alec’s actor was i’m pretty sure many lovers of the books were expecting a bit more of him and malec. and honeslty, the reason tv show alec became a hit, as many fans share, it is because he was put in a front row, his character was explored and many people resonated with him coming out to his family as gay. movie’s alec is just a spiteful shorty who doesn’t strike me to sympathize with him. i laughed SO hard when i realized on-screen malec time in the movie is so short, shorter than jace putting his knives away on a stand. i bet it disappointed many fans. and honestly, there was no time to even for a sparkle to work.
other casting problem. the scene in the hotel had so many people involved, it looked beautiful btw, spectacular. but the institute is empty. literally 4 people. why. no explanation given. we shadowhunters, i’ll tell you history, but there are no people. it doesn’t make sense for many scenes, like alec is afraid they’re breaking rules. but who will find out? ghosts? you’re actually alone. unless they have a mage who uses crystal ball then maybe. and despite them being 4 people, they characters are barely explored. as for a viewer they come off as one young kid, two spiteful friends, and an old dude in a costume.
also...valentine. ok, do him a psycho, but compared to his “kids”, he looks hella young. and he acted really creepy, period.
number 2. the story. as i said, the universe isn’t explored at all. they show you bits and pieces, but it’s just isn’t enough. even the city of bones is like hello we’re here for two minutes.
many things aren’t explained, as if they explained it all to simon, he knows, but they forgot about the audience. for example, the simplest, why the hunt demons, no one ever said we’re protecting humans, how that sword works, why silent brothers look like this, why valentine wants to kill downworlders when he infused his own body with demon blood, how he’s going to do it? WHERE IS LOGIC?! explanation of sorts - just yesterday you were a young girl, but now you know all fairy tales are true. THAT’S IT? dude, fuck this shit, i’m out.
she has motivation to save her mother, you haven’t motivated her to stay a shadowhunter dude. you haven’t even connected two quite normal aims to finde her mom they need to find valentine and valentine is their most hated enemy, so we save mom and defeat valentine, that’s how it works. no getting surprised seeing your mom in portal. like why was she in the institute. were they all there all along? wow. sure thing they don’t get busted. the institute is fucking empty XDDDD
number 3. romance sucks. i know the magnetism of the first meeting, but honestly, they’re like liking each other so quickly, throwing words like love easily (am i too old for this?) the development is so quick, like those kind of relationships might not end well. i also find that scene where simon comes out of clary’s bedroom really cringy, the dialogues really suck, sorry.
and i tried to be unbiased, honestly.but when characters are not explored on screen, you can’t care for them. and that’s it.
and i’m not saying oh the tv show is better, tv show has many flaws as well, it has cringy moments, but not bad ones. yet cast decisions i think are way better as for chemistry, i know they had time to explore, but they didn’t waste it, characters are there, relationships are there, dialogues are there, feelings are there too. and it may not have all the fancy set, but the result is the fight of the fans to save the show for continuation.

yes, mako knows haru well, but it's also true that he is good at reading people in general, not just haru. of course, haru is the person he can read most of all, but makoto can also read others.
wooooow that little part with haru taking off his swimcap and shaking his head as sparkling drops of water fall around him was one of the most magical moments of my life and i will cherish it forever.
"don't tell him that." makoto should totally tell him that. =P
i literally laughed out loud at the timing of haru (and rin) walking into the room. haru, you should have come in just a little bit earlier and then you would have heard what was just said about you that you weren't supposed to hear!! lol!!!

ummm okay, that's it. the episode's over... i am sad because that was a fun episode to watch. i really liked it, and that's because this episode had a lot of makoto in it, so of course i'm going to like that. XD and i just loved seeing makoto discover some of his own strengths. he even figured out his new dream at the end. he's just so special!!!! he is someone who has a positive impact on other people around him, and that is so clearly seen. it makes a lot of sense that he wants to be a trainer. he knows how to bring out the potential in others, because he can understand their feelings and figure out the best way to challenge them and encourage them.
oh, and... as of now, it is a real, true, canon fact that makoto is good at massages, which is yet another thing that makes him more perfect. <333333 this is really important to me. no seriously, this is something that matters to me a lot. this is like if the writers had thought, "hmm. what can we make makoto do that would be the #1 most amazing wonderful thing that sachi-pon would love???" it's like they read my mind and are trying to appeal specifically to me!!! ^___^ this is exactly what i would have thought of... uh... i mean... already thought of. okay, i thought about this a long time ago. >///////< but now this has gone beyond my fangirl fantasy and is a real thing that exists in the actual show. XDDDD hooray!!!!!! *waves pom-poms like a cheerleader* now all i need is a scene of makoto using his massage skills on you-know-who, and i'll be fine. ^__^
yes, i do have a problem with being too addicted to makoto. no, i do not intend to see a doctor. i intend to live with this problem forever. <3
wait... were there other people in this episode too? i forgot about everyone else besides makoto. uh, oh yeah. there was haru. he was so sad after the loss, but i think he's starting to feel better now, so that's good. i was getting worried when he wasn't texting makoto. =( don't do that anymore, haru!!! ;__;
also, there was rin, and later, makoto, finding out about sousuke's surgery. both of them had such excited reactions!!! and yes, rin, you cried, admit it!!! (haha) but yeah, it just shows how much those two care about sousuke. i loved those moments!!!
i am so happy for the big reunion in the next episode. i think it's going to be a little crazy, but definitely a lot of fun!! and of course, rin and haru's big showdown. who will win?!?!?!? also, what about the mysterious alien god????? how can anyone defeat him? the only way to defeat him is for haru to... TURN INTO A MERMAN!!!!!!!!!! (yes, i am still talking about merman throughout this whole season)

Well, last year, I was playing KH2 again, for the first time in years. And the game came up to a certain scene. A particular, very important line. There’s one thing specifically that made me feel a connection with Roxas.. And I’m not gonna explain it. Only my sister knows what it is. XDDDD (I will say though that it was after that moment that Roxas became my fave and I adopted him. XDD)

It was a nice day outside, sunny bright and full of life and color. Just kidding you fell down after tripping on a non-existent rock and is dreaming. You wake up and see reality. You're just in that same old place. A blank void, with nothing in there. But no, there is something. Or maybe someone?
-- Reader's Pov
I wake up to the usual blank scene. But something was different. Something else was there. Or someone else. I stand up to face a child? They have medium size horns and a somewhat long black demon tail. They wear a red hoodie covering most of their hair, their bangs covering their eyes. Black shorts. And silver stocking!? Their horn matched their hair it was gray with the tips white. I bent down and petted their head, saying "are you lost, kid? This is no place for a child". "What did you call me, bitch?", I heard. I looked down to see the small demon with a threatening face, I have to say even if they were small they managed to be pretty intimidating. I almost fell. "don't you know it's rude to pet people's head?", they said again, getting me out of trance. "Oh sorry" is all I managed to say. "Sorry. Sorry? Are you kidding me? First, you call a kid and child now, it's just I'm sorry", they said obviously mocking me. They didn't look very happy about it. I took a while for them to forgive me, actually, I don't think they have completely yet. They keep piercing daggers at me though I can't see their eyes I can still feel it.

It's been a while since I'm here with them. They told me they don't have a gender so they don't care how I call them. And that their name is Meru. They didn't exactly look like a girl or a boy either so no wonder they had no gender. Well, anyways they’re surprisingly interesting. They draw, and they like writing. It's fun to learn more about them. But some things about them are kinda scary or should I say unexpected!? But I wonder, will they stay here with me? I decided to ask. "So do you wanna go home?", I asked. "Don't got one". I was surprised when I heard that. Then they went on, "Oh I mean I literally don't have a physical house, I just go from place to place. Here is nice, it's quiet~". "Oh okay- if you want-", I started and mumbled. "Uh-?", they asked. "If you want you can stay", I managed to say very fast. "Oh sure I can stay a bit longer, not like I got anything to do anyways~", they said. "Okay", I said.
We talked a bit like usual, and for some reason, we went to the topic of love. They told me they were asexual and aromantic. Then they said, "oh well, no one would love me anyway~". Then I said, "I would". they quickly turned to me, and smirked then said: "well I wouldn't, sorry". I knew that but I still felt really heartbroken and I cried a bit. Surprisingly they sat next to me. Then said, "pfff- haha I can't believe you like me". "You don't need to be so mean", I said still crying a bit. "hey", they said. "Yeah?", I asked putting my head between my knees. "why?". I was confused then they said "I mean why do you like me? what's good about me?". I didn't know what to say so I just kinda panicked and said: "idk, you're just cute I guess". They laughed so hard I thought someone was dying. "you like me just cause you think I'm cute, haha", they said and laughed again. " I mean that too", I said. "oh, well what else do you like about me", they asked. "idk, I just like you okay", I said quickly still face between my knees.
We passed the next few minutes in silence. "Hey", they said suddenly making me almost lose balance and fall luckily I caught myself in time. "I wanna try something", they continued. "What?", I asked. "can I kiss you?", they asked. I was really surprised, and I fell down this time for real. " I mean I'm curious, and I wouldn't mind kissing you", they continued. "Are you crazy? You wanna kiss someone who confessed to you? Do you hate me or what?", I said a bit panicked. they said "shesh, chill I told you I'm just curious". "well go kiss someone else", I said not meaning it. " I can't think of anyone else I would even ever consider kissing other than you". I was so shocked I became stone for like what felt like an hour. Then I gathered up the courage and said "okay fine you can kiss me". "woohoo", I heard. Next thing I knew they were kissing me in the mouth. I'm pretty sure I collapsed for a second there. When I came to they were licking them lips and saying calmly "you're pretty tasty". God, I think I just fucking died. O M G, h e l p m e p l s. I had no idea what was happening. "would you date me then?", I asked without thinking and quickly covered my mouth. "oh of course-". I was shocked for a moment then. "not". Ye, I thought so. "Dude you seriously asking me this. Aren't you satisfied I kissed you? Shut up already. I'm happy single thanks". God, I just died again. they smiled and turned my face up making me look at them. They smirked, and said, "don't get cocky just because you're cute". Then they got up and made what looked like a portal. "well I gotta go, was nice meeting you hun~", they said in front of the portal. I was just paralyzed there. they started entering the portal and looked back at me again "hope we see each other again (Y/N)", then they smirked and passed through the portal closing it. Leaving me all by myself in that empty place again. I grabbed my legs and mumbled "so cruel".

I LOVE the miraculous au so much it's just so *clenches fist* well written and thought out!!!!! Here's a quick thought what if there was a class overnight trip????? Just gonna put that right here for yah palio! 💕👌
So. The second I got your ask I sent a message to @emthimofnight to see what they thought about this. Below is what we brainstormed (pretty much all of it by emthim though haha) and below that are some small drabbles of this since there’s no way I could write the whole thing ^^;

so a bunch of kids from Gon and Killua’s school go on a class camping trip to a forest preserveto learn more about nature for their biology class or something
Zushi is there
he’s a year younger than Gon and Killua and looks up to them a lot and kind of sort of has crushes on both of them??? (more so on Gon bc he’s more approachable but still)
Zushi thinks they’re just both so cool and amazing and wow
He feels special that he gets to be a (small) part of their relationship
Kite is the biology teacher and shows them interesting species and insects its great
Knuckle and Shoot are chaperones. Zushi has so much fun with them but they get him in trouble a lot haha
The bus ride over would be fantastic of course
cue Gon, Killua and Zushi being dorks and causing trouble on the bus
Killua squished between Gon and Zushi bc nope, I love you Zushi but THERE IS NO WAY YOU ARE SITTING NEXT TO GON NOPE
Killua can kind of tell Zushi crushes on Gon so there’s no way he’s letting Zushi get that close to his best friend lol

Campfire scene first for emthim~ :
“What are you saying, Gon?” Killua asked hotly and Zushi winced at his tone. Killua sounded really annoyed this time. “There’s no way Ladybug could defeat Chat Noir on a one-on-one fight.”
Gon didn’t seem to notice Killua’s anger, though. He just puffed out his cheeks indignantly. “Yes, he would! Ladybug’s got his yo-yo!”
“So?”
“So, that’s the strongest ability out of all the Miraculouses! Chat would have no chance-”
Killua cut him off, “That yo-yo only works against akumas, stupid. It wouldn’t work on Chat.”
“Ladybug could still use it though!”
Killua snorted. “As if that thing would work. Chat’s more flexible. He’d kick Ladybug’s ass.”
He turned around, back to the fire while the flames created a dim halo around his silver hair. Killua’s scowl was still in place but still…Zushi couldn’t help the slight fluttering inside his chest. The whole school might avoid Killua because of his family lineage, but no one could deny his good looks.
He watched as Killua made his way towards where Gon sat. He held out his stick to Gon, saying, “C’mon, Gon. Haven’t you seen the muscle on Chat? Ladybug wouldn’t stand a chance.”
Gon threw him a dirty look. “That’s not- ah, hot.” Gon stuck his tongue out as he pulled the golden marshmallow off Killua’s stick. “That’s not true! Ladybug has muscle!”
“Not as much as Chat,” Killua retorted. He glanced over at Zushi and Zushi’s heart flipped.
“Hey, throw that s’mores stuff over, would you?”
“Uh, y-yeah! Sure!” Zushi stuttered and inwardly grimaced. Why did he always have to mess up around Killua?! He’d known Killua for years now but his stammering never went away. He tossed the s’mores package that Kite had bought for them to Killua, nearly missing the older teen by a foot, but Killua caught it nimbly.
“Thanks- OI, Gon!!! Wait until you make the s’mores before you eat it!”
Gon blinked up at Killua. Laughter burst out of Zushi before he cold hold it back- Gon had half of the s’more Killua had made for him smudged across his mouth. He looked innocently cute like that, all wide-eyed with a chaotic splash of freckles across tanned cheeks.
“Damnit, Gon!” Killua groaned. “I’m gonna have to make another one for you now!”
“’M sahree,” Gon said between sticky lips. Zushi couldn’t breathe from laughing so hard. He bent over his log, wheezing.
“Don’t encourage him!” Killua snapped over his shoulder at Zushi before turning back to his best friend. “Look, you got it all over your face and everything. Here-”
Killua dropped the s’mores bag onto the ground and plopped down next to Gon. He pulled a napkin out of his pocket, clasping Gon’s chin in his other hand, and immediately starting wiping the marshmallow off Gon’s lips.
The laughter bubbling up in Zushi’s chest disappeared. His jaw dropped at the scene in front of him because- what?! Was this actually happening?
Killua and Gon were close. Closer then close. Everyone knew that. But this…
This was different. Even though Killua and Gon weren’t doing anything particularly weird, Zushi felt like he was seeing something private. Something that could only be shared between the enigma that was Gon-and-Killua. Something almost….intimate. His gut twisted as his cheeks grew warm at the thought.
By the time Killua had finished, the small crowd around the campfire was dead silent.
Killua flushed. “W-What? Why are you all staring?!”
Zushi coughed and looked away. He wasn’t gonna be the one to explain the silence to Killua, heir to the infamous Zoldyck family. That was for sure.
Tent scene:
Killua and Gon shared a tent. Because of course they would. Why would they do anything separately that they could do together?
When someone had asked them if they would be cramped in that tiny space, they had both looked at their classmate with blank looks. If he was being honest, Zushi had a suspicion that Gon and Killua shared much more with each other than anyone would ever think.
But, again, he kept that thought to himself. He was just grateful that he’d been chosen to be Gon and Killua’s friend. So few people got to see into their private world, he felt special to be a small part of it.
Even sitting squished in their small ten before they all went to bed for the night was something of a small treat. He sat with his knees tucked to his chest, quietly observing the pair as they ruffled through their backpacks for pajamas.
Killua groaned out loud. “Fuck.”
Gon perked up on the other side of the tent. “What’s wrong, Killua?”
“I packed Milluki’s clothes instead of mine. Dunno how that happened, but-”
“Milluki?” Zushi piped up.
“One of Killua’s brothers,” Gon explained.
“The guy’s the size of a whale,” Killua added. He held up a purple t-shirt and Zushi’s eyes bulged. The shirt was longer than he was tall.
“I’m gonna look like I’m wearing a nightgown in this,” Killua said matter-of-factly and Gon giggled.
“You can borrow some of my stuff. I brought extra.”
Killua’s expression lit up. “Really?”
“Mhm. Here-”
Gon threw his best friend a much smaller-sized shirt and Killua grunted when it hit his face.
“Gon, jesus, watch it!”
“Sorry!”
“You don’t sound sorry-”
Zushi just stared as the two bickered back and forth. So…they shared clothes, too. Was that normal?! Zushi had no clue. He didn’t have a best friend like Gon and Killua were to each other. But, did anyone have a best friend like Gon and Killua?
Killua suddenly shoved Gon over, face scarlet at something Gon had said, and the spiky-haired teen fell over onto his sleeping bag with a cackle. Killua let out an unearthly hiss of rage and shoved a pillow over Gon’s face.
Killua looked up at Zushi, blue eyes piercing even in the dim light.
“Don’t just sit there, Zushi!” he growled. “Help me!”
“Nooooo,” came Gon’s muffled voice. “Zushi, don’t listen to him!”
“Shut-” Killua dug his elbow into Gon’s stomach and the other squawked, “-up! Zushi likes me better then you!”
“No, he doesn’t!!!”
A nervous laughter spilled from Zushi’s lips as the pair continued to shove at each other. A prickling heat crept up the back of his neck and he gripped his elbows tightly.
Neither of them had to know how close they were to the truth.

Gotham 3x14
The Gentle Art of Making Enemies
And I want to slap and kiss the writer who came up with THAT title, because I mean... you smug, self-aggrandizing, self-satisfied jerk. But it IS accurate, can’t fault you for that xp
So, here’s how this is going to go. I have so many feels about this episode I can’t begin to organize, so I’m just going to rewatch it and liveblog the whole thing. Then later, as a resident crossover Fannibal/Gothamite, I plan to do a deconstruction of 3x14 comparing it to Mizumono, the infamous season 2 finale of Hannibal. If you’re not familiar, I’m afraid I have to ask you to watch this clip. I couldn’t find any gifsets that showed ALL of the blocking, even this clip doesn’t have Will getting out into the pouring rain, but now I’ve just said it was and is VERY RAINING, so that’s fine. I’m also giving you the EXTRA FEELS edition without the music behind it because it was SO HARD to find a clip that showed everything I needed. This is just... unbelievably painful to watch. I can’t watch Oswald being this stupid, it... ouch.
And Ed... EDDDD, UGH MY CHILD! MY BEAUTIFUL BABE!
You know Ed, I’m with you, we kinda all expected Oswald to kill her personally, it was kinda weird he didn’t. I know why, he was HOPING TO HELL you wouldn’t find out, but like THAT was ever going to fucking happen and that has been the WHOLE problem this ENTIRE time. Oswald hasn’t been thinking straight since he fell in love with you, if he had, he would have known that NO cover up, no matter how meticulous, how well-done, NEVER would have fooled you, Ed Nygma. And yet, time and again, and ESPECIALLY this episode, Oswald does INCREDIBLY. DUMB, THINGS. And he knows better. And that’s what makes it so hard to watch.
Oh baby, you are so... angry. And I mean that POSITIVELY, I mean that in the BEST way, because you are AT FUCKING LAST being angry WITH him, in FRONT of him, we are finally getting some positive goddamn traction on your emotions, you’re working through it! You’re doing it! I am so fucking happy!
And it’s clear, from the look on your BEAUTIFUL ANGUISHED FACE, that what UPSETS YOU, ABOUT ALL OF THIS, is the betrayal and GOOD. IT SHOULD. THAT IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE ANGRY ABOUT. THAT IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE CONFRONTING HIM ON AND YOU ARE AND I AM SO FUCKING PROUD! You are being explicit and honest and FUCK I AM SO HAPPY. YOU COME SO FAR BABY. YOU COME SO FAR! I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU!
And Oswald... honey. I do love you, not as much as my son, but I do love you too, which is why I am so disappointed in you this episode. You keep lying when we are WAY PAST LYING. You keep saying THE WRONG FUCKING THING. And again, YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER. But you’re not, you’re being an idiot. I’m sorry, just... Ed confronting you WITH THE GODDAMN car was NOT the time to say ‘no I didn’t do it’ OSWALD HONEY. OSWALD. ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS. DO YOU NOT SEE THE LOOK ON ED’S FACE. HE IS NOT INTERESTED IN FUCKING BELIEVING YOU YOU PIECE OF TRASH. GET IT TOFUCKINGGETHER AND TELL ED THE TRUTH, HE FUCKING DESERVES IT.
Okay, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, but just. I’m ALL about Ed in this, ALL ED ALL THE TIME. And one of the GREAT AND BEAUTIFUL THINGS this episode is doing is breaking their rule about not showing us Ed’s face when he’s saying something important. For the first time ever we get to see IN FULL FRONTAL CLARITY what he looks like and we know, viscerally, how he feels and I am SO PLEASED. There are no tricks, no lies, just pure unvarnished honesty. Except for the scene at the end where they do something SO CLEVER AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH but we’ll get to that later, all in good time. But here, where Ed’s explaining how he took everything from Oswald, he looks PAINED. He didn’t WANT to do this, he didn’t want to have to DESTROY his best friend, hero, and idol. It hurt him to do this, as all betrayal does, it hurts so much to be angry at someone when they’ve hurt you because you LOVED them. And you didn’t ever want to feel this way, you didn’t ever want to know that they could hurt you like this, that they WOULD. I just... UGGGGHHHH POSITIVE EXPRESSIONS OF EMOTIONS! I AM SO FUCKING THRILLED! NO MORE REPRESSION! NO MORE DENIAL! I celebrated the whole goddamn episode I AM SO HAPPY HE IS HAVING FEELINGS AND SHOWING THEM AND SAYING THINGS, I AM OVER THE MOON!
Court of Owls, blah blah blah, whatever, who cares
HARVEY. HARVEY ONCE AGAIN BEING THE ONLY SANE PERSON HERE. HARVEY BEING THE FIRST PERSON TO GO “Did you know we don’t have ANY mayoral staff right now? No mayor, no chief of staff, literally no one.” Because, think about it, NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT THE SHIT ED’S BEEN PULLING. NO ONE HAS ANY FUCKING IDEA. OSWALD’S BEEN OUT FOR AT LEAST TWO DAYS AND IT’S JUST HILARIOUS THAT HARVEY IS THE FIRST PERSON TO NOTICE. Also, how the fuck does Gotham even work? I mean, putting aside the fact that we’re a breeding ground for super villains, this city is HELL because the government is a pantomime soap opera. I mean... I... wowwwwww. Wow. But FINALLY now someone can go “Did you know we have literally no idea what’s going on? Huh. Maybe we should go check that out.”
Like, I want Jim and Harvey to finally go OKAY, WHERE THE FUCK IS OUR MAYOR, WHAT DID OSWALD FUCK UP NOW and be in the middle of trying to unravel all of THAT SHIT when ED HAPPENS. When Ed just, full Riddler, waltzes the fuck in and Jim and Harvey are both, “Ed??? Aren’t you Oswald’s chief of staff? Where is he?” Because on public record THAT IS STILL WHERE WE ARE. And I want Ed to just LAUGH at them to just go “Oh right! Yeah that WAS my job... good fucking luck! I’m not explaining ANYTHING!” and he goes off to fucking chaos riddle something else and Harvey just looks at that green streak of instability and says, “Well, clearly Oswald fucked THAT up.” and for Jim to just look at him in horror, offended that Harvey said these words in front of him, that Harvey let him know this and now he can never unknow it.
“The city’s one giant dumpster fire” Thank you Harvey. Thank you Harvey, you continue to be perfect.
Oh my goddddd EVERYTHING about Ed walking Oswald through his grand plan, EVERYTHING. I LOVE EVERYTHING. BEAUTIFUL. I love that Ed is incapable of NOT explaining how he did it, I love how he gloats, I even love Oswald’s naive disbelief and shock that all of this is how it happened. XDDDD
And OH MANY, that bit about dumping his father’s bones in a dumpster behind a Chinese restaurant? I AM NOW 100% CERTAIN ED IS LYING AND HAS BEEN LYING THE WHOLE TIME ABOUT THAT. And I’m really fucking relieved, oh man, good to know he was just being a shit. Because I COULD have believed Ed went so far to really dig up his bones, but just throw them in a dumpster? No, no, he was in forensics, we don’t treat bones that way. We don’t treat bones that way. And given that was such a spectacular, colorful lie for the pure purpose of pissing off Oswald, I now believe the WHOLE thing was just a fucking ruse and that makes me happy. Bless you Ed, bless you.

OH MY GOD YOU BETTER WALK YOURSELF FUCKING BACK DON’T YOU EVEN GODDAMN DAAAARE, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING?! Because BOY ON THE LIST OF THINGS NOT TO SAY, THAT IS THE VERY FIRST ONE. THERE IS NOTHING THAT COMES BEFORE “Tell Ed he would have murdered her himself” on the list of things YOU SHOULD NOT FUCKING SAY TO HIM RIGHT NOW. YOU SON OF A BITCH OSWALD. I know you know it, I even know HE knows it, but you GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME THAT YOU’RE GOING TO THROW THAT AT HIM AT A TIME LIKE THIS. WHEN HE CLEARLY ALREADY WANTS TO KILL YOU. YOU’RE GONNA... I can’t fucking believe you Oswald. I cannot fucking believe you. I... that REALLY cut me deep, I couldn’t believe Oswald would say that. And it doesn’t even fucking matter if it’s true NOT THE GODDAMN POINT.
To Ed’s INCREDIBLE credit, he doesn’t fly off the handle for that. Which makes me think he expected it, he prepared. Because HE DON’T EVEN FUCKING LISTEN. He refuses to fucking take that in and GOOD JOB BABY. GOOD MOTHERFUCKING JOB DON’T YOU LET HIM DO THAT TO YOU, YOU KEEP ON BABY, YOU ARE GLOWING AND I LOVE YOU, I AM SO PROUD.
“You’re a monster, just like me” IS NOT THE ARGUMENT YOU WANT TO BE MAKING RIGHT NOW. I just... I... it’s manipulation. You’re fucking manipulating Ed when he is MAD AT YOU FOR MANIPULATING HIM. OSWALD DID YOU THINK ABOUT THIS AT ALL BEFORE YOU SAID IT. IN WHAT WORLD WOULD THIS WORK, WHEN ON EARTH WOULD ED FUCKING LISTEN TO YOU??? EVEN if you’re right, EVEN if that’s true THAT DOESN’T FUCKING MATTER RIGHT NOW BECAUSE YOU ARE DOING THE THING HE IS MAD AT YOU FOR DOING. HOLY FUCK OSWALD.
It’s... it’s an insult, it’s a goddamn insult to who Ed thinks he is and who he wants to be, you’re... I just.. .WHY why would you be saying this? You are DENYING him his ability to control himself, you’re degrading him TO HIS FACE. AND YOU THINK THIS WILL SOMEHOW WORK???
Now, to be fair, I don’t think once, in this entire episode, is Oswald ever truly trying to save his own neck. The entire time he’s only trying to get Ed to see something, he’s trying to get through to Ed. Which I think is why Oswald doesn’t say ANYTHING right, he DOESN’T say what will get him out of this, when we’ve SEEN him do that MULTIPLE TIMES, because he’s not trying to do that right now. And I don’t think it’s because he doesn’t think Ed is serious, Ed is PATENTLY, DANGEROUSLY serious, I think it’s just... it’s not his priority right now, he’s just focused on talking to Ed. I think... genuinely, Oswald doesn’t care if this kills him for the entire episode. Even starting last episode, I don’t think Oswald cares that Ed will kill him, that loving him will kill him. Which is... WOW, wow, OKAY. I mean, major Hannigram feels, but putting that aside for a second.
It’s also unexpected for every character here INCLUDING Oswald himself. I mean Ed plans PERFECTLY, he has Oswald down to a science, he has him pegged for the survivalist gutter rat Oswald is, was, and always shall be. Which is why it throws EVERYONE OFF when Oswald doesn’t play to script, he doesn’t do ANYTHING he’s supposed to do, he flips the fucking tables and Ed is actually a LITTLE BIT angry at him for betraying him one last time; for here, at the last second, for the very first time ever, Oswald won’t defend his own life. Oswald says kill me, there’s something I care about more. And... Ed’s entitled to feel angry about that I think because MOTHER OF FUCK Oswald, couldn’t you have done this EARLIER, you know, couldn’t this have been something that occurred to you in ANY OTHER scenario, and it’s also fair that it doesn’t, it’s fair that this only hits Oswald now. But it’s awful because now Ed knows, can never unknow and has to go, ‘FUCK. Okay, knowing this, how do I... how do I feel? How do I proceed? I am still SO FUCKING ANGRY WITH YOU, but you won’t... you won’t let me hate you and kill you and just be over with it. Now it’s complicated. THANKS.’ Because Ed DID, Ed planned this PERFECT, flawless, clean ending and if Oswald had JUST run true to form, if he’d just followed the fucking script this would all be over and Ed would have peace, he could bury Oswald and it would be done. Now it’s a mess. Fuck you Oswald. Also I love you and I’m MORE GLAD THAN I CAN POSSIBLY SAY THAT THIS HAPPENED AND WOW HOLY FUCK THE WRITING I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY DID THIS, but also fuck you. But, KINDA apropos, because that is the SECOND time Oswald throws love at Ed and here he’s doing it the first time and I LOOOOOOOOOVE, I LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT ED FUCKING CUTS HIM OFF AND SLAMS HIM INTO THE FUCKING GROUND. I looooove that Oswald says ‘I love you’ and Ed fucking snaps because NO YOU DON'T, NO YOU DON’T GET TO FUCKING SAY THAT TO ME, SHUT THE FUCK UP. He GRABS him to silence him and LAYS HIM FUCKING OUT and GODDDDDD. BEAUTIFUL. YES. I do find it kinda hard to believe that Ed has digested enough to articulate all of this so well, but I’m SO GLAD THAT HE IS. I’m SO GLAD he’s self-actualizing and is in a solid enough place in his own mind that he CAN lay down the law, again, I AM SO FUCKING PROUD. I AM BEYOND HAPPY HE IS HERE NOW. So, fuck it, I’ll just believe that in the past week he’s had enough time to think that he knows exactly and explicitly what Oswald did wrong AND how he himself feels about it. I am so... he has identified what’s wrong and WILL NOT let Oswald talk him out of it YOU GO BABY! YOU GO MY SWEETHEART, MY DARLING! SO PROUD OF YOU! I am so PLEASED his self-esteem has come so far that he can defy Oswald, that he can look his idol in the eye and say NO YOU’RE WRONG, that Oswald says the wrong thing Ed cuts him down to size, OH SWEET JUSTICE OF EQUALITY YES! FUCK YES! I BEEN DREAMING OF THIS!
I love this, I love everything, I love this, I love everything, I love Ed MOCKING his own tender gestures toward Oswald, twisting his old role, by taking his tie and THROTTLING HIM WITH IT. UGH. GET THAT PETTY VENGEANCE SWEET BABY! DO IT! MAKE HIM SUFFER!

Okay, so this entire episode is all Nygmobblepot to me, but I’m actually also REALLY FUCKING HAPPY AND IMPRESSED with the Jerome-Bruce dynamic we’re building, that was also REALLY FUCKING GREAT AND SPOT ON. WAY better than last time. It’s just, Nygmobblepot is taking up 1 - 50 of my priorities, but Batjokes is coming in at a CLOSE 51 today because they did SO WELL and I’m really fucking pleased. I just gave my heart away to this other thing first xp
I adore the overture of their relationship here, I... the dynamics have gotten a LOT better. I love the home invasion so Bruce is on his home turf and is able to tackle Jerome on some equality. David is older now, he’s got my personality, more control. Jerome died and came back, so he’s a little closer to Joker madness. Bruce playing to his ego and showmanship is a MASTER stroke and I was so proud. And it’s SO GOOD that we’re getting this now, good and early, so that we develop that rivalry and fascination and adoration and obsession. Because you need ALL of that to harness a fulfilling and worthwhile Batman-Joker dynamic and we’re getting the seeds here I AM SO HAPPY. Because Batman and Joker must ALWAYS be equal and opposite, one of them cannot have advantage over the other for any length of time and when we started Jerome was at an advantage because Bruce was not old enough or equipped enough to handle him. We’ve done a lot of growing with Bruce since then, he’s in a more capable place now, so we have a much more even-footed relationship and I am thrilled. Again, THIS EPISODE WAS FANTASTIC, I LOVED ALL OF IT, NOT A PIECE OF IT WILL BE CRITICIZED BY ME.

Okay, I love how PATENTLY OBVIOUS it was that Ed sent in this guy to free Oswald, because LIKE FUCK Ed’s not there keeping watch. I could believe he doesn’t want to watch Oswald die, especially something as grisly as this, but he’s still THERE. This guy didn’t just wander in. Yeah no, no. And the next bit with Tabitha and Butch confirms it, Oswald was ALWAYS meant to go free from this. Love it, love your plan Ed buddy, I love that this is ALL a massive trust exercise, holy god. AMAZE.

Annnnd BACK TO THE ACTION! I love that Ed and Oswald now have neck burns in the same place. I LOVE the tired, defeated voice Robin’s doing.
I do have one question though, why... why does Babs do this? She could just kill him, LEGIT. Why is she suddenly invested in the mental health of Ed Nygma? Why does she care if Ed gets closure? I mean... that’s the only reason to go through with this charade here at the end, the ONLY person this is helping is Ed and... we all suddenly have good and nurturing feelings toward ED??? What the fuck? I mean, I don’t understand why Babs has let him do ANYTHING. THIS WHOLE TIME. But just... I don’t know, does she feel some kind of kinship with Ed? If so, how?
And Oswald does... nothing that he’s supposed to. And what’s kinda crazy is Ed DID need an answer to the question, he did need to know, once and for all, no lies, no tricks, is there ANYTHING Oswald cares about more than himself? And Ed... wanted the answer to be no. Ed wanted that, again, so he could bury him, so he could kill his love for Oswald and bury it and be at peace. I mean, miserable, and lonely, but he could kill Oswald knowing it was the right thing to do. And Oswald... doesn’t let him have that, and it’s not like it’s Oswald’s fault, FOR ONE, the ONE TIME Oswald is expressing sincere emotion and he didn’t actually fuck something up, at least not intentionally. But, nonetheless, this prevents Ed from getting the closure he desperately wanted. And Ed says EXACTLY what I expected him to say, I was so pleased, word for word, I said it with him, “I... don’t know what it means.” AND YES. CORRECT. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FEEL OR WHAT TO DO AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU.
And remember how I said earlier the writers were FUCKING PHENOMENAL here? Okay, so this episode was ALL geared up, all ready, for ED to have a fucking revelation. But instead we don’t, instead OSWALD has a revelation and I DID NOT KNOW HOW BADLY I FUCKING WANTED THAT. OH MY GOD. THIS IS FUCKING FANTASTIC. Not only was it TOTALLY defying of expectations, in the BEST way possible, it was SEARINGLY IN CHARACTER, and I just started making tea kettle noises, I just screamed at a range beyond human hearing when I saw Oswald start to go because OH MY GODDDDDDDDDD! I DIDN’T THINK WE WOULD GET THIS BUT WE GOT THIS AND I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY! THIS IS GENIUS! THIS WAS INCREDIBLE that they built up an episode that was clearly all going to be about Ed, and in the crux of it, we make Oswald break, not Ed, THAT’S BEAUTIFUL. FUCK ME THAT WAS BRILLIANT. I LOVE EVERYTHING.
The mutual horror and distress on EVERYONE’S FACES as Oswald TOTALLY FUCKING THROWS THE SCRIPT OUT THE WINDOW AND DECIDES HE WANTS TO LOVE. I love that everyone is MUTUALLY sorry that this happened, that this is a thing happening in front of them, ESPECIALLY Ed, who is the MOST sorry of all that this is happening.

In fact ED PROBABLY KNOWS, Ed probably knows INTIMATELY and this is some kind of weird Freudian recreation of THAT, except that Ed Nygma is not Jim Gordon. And Ed has PERSONAL reasons alone for killing you. But once again, it’s your fault, yours and yours alone. Because you betrayed someone. So good job Oswald, you ran staggeringly true to form. Even your one break, of course, of course you CAN love and of course you’d stake your life on it and of course it would be the one time NO ONE wants you to. This is horrifically, painfully, in character.
I have sooooo many feelings about the speckles of water on his glasses and the camera angle with the ridge of his glasses so that when Ed says “I don’t love you” his eyes are so deep in shadow we can’t tell if this is true or not. His vision is, literally, so distorted, HE doesn’t even know if it’s true or not. And I have always FUCKING LOVED those glasses and NOW I KNOW WHY.
Oh my god, Oswald reaches for him and Ed slaps his hands away! Oh wow ^^; Missed that the first time. I mean yes, correct, but ouch. Mannn... this is... this is bad time, this is painful time right here.

See, see Ed is FULLY WITHIN HIS RIGHTS for telling you to SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU KILLED SOMEONE IMPORTANT TO ED AND REGARDLESS OF ANY OTHER FUCKING THING THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE TRUE, YOU, MOTHERFUCKER, GET TO BE HELD A-FUCKING-CCOUNTABLE. You keep changing the subject, you keep denying Ed his feelings, you keep shunting responsibility, JUST. STOP. FOR FUCK’S SAKE. That you love each other is NOT MATERIAL RIGHT NOW.
“You can’t talk your way out of this Oswald!” Ed has to TELL HIM THAT. AND ED KNOWS HIM SO WELL THAT HE CAN, that he KNOWS and. I just... I... And once again Ed is UPSET, he is in PAIN that he has to FUCKING KILL YOU, but you’ve left him with no other options because you’re not sorry and you can’t make amends and it’s KILLING HIM that he has to do this but he must!
And I think it’s actually the case of Ed needs to kill Oswald, but he doesn’t need Oswald to die. Because I think that’s ultimately what happens here, Ed needs to perform the act, at least emotionally, of killing Oswald, at least symbolically, at least killing the lie of their relationship thus far, because he needs that fucking closure. But he doesn’t actually need Oswald to die and disappear, he needs Oswald to... change, he needs their relationship to change and he needs it to restart. Which, fortunately, is exactly what he’s going to get, bless. This is all catharsis for Ed, this is all rebirth or, to use a Hannibal metaphor, a becoming. Ed is becoming here. More on that later.
And UGGGGHHHHH, Oswald makes the creation argument and I’M SO MAD AT HIM FOR DOING THAT TOO. UGH! YOU KEEP SAYING BULLSHIT, YOU KEEP SAYING THE WRONG THINGS, GODDAMNIT OSWALD! And I just... no, no, you can’t... though you do have PROFOUND influence on him, don’t you DARE take away Ed’s self-creation, don’t you DARE rob him of himself, he worked FUCKING HARD to get this far and NO I don’t fucking buy that this IS your doing. Oh baby... oh sweetheart, my heart broke when Ed said he was listening because Ed could take every lie and threat, he was prepared for that, and GOD BLESS HIM HE WORKED SO FUCKING HARD. But Oswald had to go and say something TRUE and that’s... that’s not fair. And, I will say this, it is true that Ed loves him. But Oswald shouldn’t have said that. He NEVER should have said it, he has no proof, and Ed is SO VERY FUCKING FAR from admitting it because FUCK YOU OSWALD. ACTUALLY, LITERALLY FUCK YOU, YOU DON’T FUCKING DESERVE THAT TODAY. And the thing is Ed isn’t repressing no more, he’s in control, so he can do WHATEVER THE FUCK HE LIKES AND YOU CAN’T TOUCH HIM. Which is why none of this shit works, Ed knows who he is, he knows how he feels, he’s on such GOOD FUCKING FORM today, I AM SO PROUD. And I know that Oswald isn’t thinking about saving his neck, he’s... trying to claw into Ed, he’s trying to... reestablish a relationship that Ed doesn’t want established, Ed NEEDS the closure and Oswald’s denying him. So it’s a fucking mess and it’s not fair. And, to Ed’s huge credit, he does his best to fucking cope and to manage the fact that Oswald loves him and he can’t unknow it anymore. Ed does a really nice, clean job everything considered and I love him and I’m so proud.
And Ed does come back to it, he does go “I’m sorry but... this isn’t about that. You hurt me, you did this to me, and I deserve to make things equal now.” I wouldn’t have blamed him if he couldn’t have gone through with it, really glad he does though and he shoots Oswald somewhere PAINFUL not NON-FATAL. A gut wound. The wound of the betrayed. WE WILL COME BACK TO THAT INTIMATELY WHEN I TALK ABOUT MIZUMONO.
And when Ed grabs him by the tie and pulls him in... I DEFINITELY thought kiss and... I’m not 100% that Ed WASN’T also thinking kiss. Like... the look on his face? That he leans in for a half second? I'm not POSITIVE it didn’t in fact cross his mind. And that’s just the chocolate sprinkles on top of the cherry on top of the whipped cream on top of the glorious sundae that this this episode. Fucking flawless. I loved everything. Everything is beautiful. WOW. YES.
And we know for a fact Oswald will be fine, don’t worry friends. This was all about the symbolic death and the emotional retribution and the closure Ed THINKS he’ll get out of this. But here’s the thing, and I’ll be curious to see what they do with this next episode... Ed doesn’t shoot him fatally and I want to know if that was a conscious choice or not. I HOPE it’s not, I HOPE Ed internalizes that he killed Oswald and that IT FUCKING BREAKS HIM. I hope it’s the regret and loneliness and PAIN that fucking causes him to split and his evil half dominates him and goes full Riddler. I FUCKING HOPE that all of this is because he killed Oswald I WOULD DIE HAPPY. Because THINK about it, think about HOW FUCKING INCREDIBLE THAT WOULD BE WHEN OSWALD COMES BACK. THINK ABOUT HOW IT WOULD FUCK ED UP SEEING HIM AGAIN, WHEN HE DID ALL OF THIS BECAUSE HE’S IN THE THROES OF SELF-LOATHING AND THE REASON WHY HE’S ALL FUCKED UP IS STANDING IN FRONT OF HIM? HOLY FUCK YES! GOD GIVE IT TO ME!
I mean, it’s fine if they play it differently, but I just think that’d be FUCKING EXQUISITE if Ed internalizes that Oswald’s dead and it’s his fault.
But basically, as usual, this isn’t REALLY closure because now Ed cant let it go. Now he’ll carry Oswald inside him forever because he killed him. And that’s fucking beautiful. And fucking great. And Ed’s gonna suffer and hate himself forever and I LOVE IT. Or at least until Oswald resurfaces again which I hope wont’ be for AWHILE. I want him gone and away and I want to have NO IDEA where he is or what he’s doing, I want it to blow my mind when he shows up again, because I want to sit here and suffer with Ed and grin at his misery over this 8DDD I AM READY, I AM SO READY, I WAS BORN READY.
Basically this episode watered my crops and cured my acne, I love it so much, this was fucking fantastic, 10/10, A+, FUCKING INGENIOUS, CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BIT!
