reminding myself on this busy morning that i also have dreams of taking piano lessons & singing lessons & also honing my writing skills & absorbing as many books as i used to when i was a kid & at the very least taking up cute tennis dates & dabbling into art & just becoming an artistic generalist. also reminding myself that there are pre-meds out there who managed to pursue something they’re passionate in (some are even professional athletes) & still excelled in medicine & if they can do it so can I

#Delusional? Maybe a little bit but this is what i wanna do w my life and I don’t wanna choose one or the other #If I drop science/medicine I feel empty #If I don’t have my creative outlets I feel empty #My existence is a symbiotic meeting of these two facets #It’s possible bc other ppl have done it but I just need to achieve godly levels of time budgeting and drive basically #I was raised on the belief that if you want something badly enough you’ll make it happen!! So that is what I’m going 2 do #I mean when I make it to residency the 80 hr work weeks probably won’t allow for much lol BUT #I don’t like the popular opinion that med school doesn’t allow time for anything else.#So many med students have said that u have plenty of time & that it will be a period of self discovery exploration etc #Idk we’ll see. But!! I intend on making this work.#p

#this meme has been going through my head for a bazillion years lol #i love to interact and then it hits me that im probably bothering you guys #plus the current popular stuff I am sadly so unfamiliar with #when i was younger i would gravitate to my own interests when i was unfamiliar with other topics and it got on peoples nerves a lot #and i completely understand that so i dont wanna repeat those mistakes #its just like a game of pingpong of me talking too much and me hiding under my desk bc i feel like im bothering everyone #also like the last time it was p much confirmed i was being annoying i cried for like two hours bc my fears were realized haha #and when a line is drawn for me i kinda like to stay at least 2ft away from wherever that line is just to be safe #you gotta like throw a cookie attached to a fishing line to get me closer to the line lol #because i will seriously be way too cautious otherwise #im trying to get more brave though im just kinda like my cat who heard a noise in the bathroom cabinet #and now he refuses to go near it #being mindful of others feelings and respecting their boundaries is super important to me #and sometimes that boxes me in a bit

so i’m describing Billy’s smell in this fic and i remembered that in gothyringwald‘s breakdown of his room the comm had sussed out what his colognes were so i looked up their scent profiles. posting in case this is useful to others. note that the bottles in the caps are the modern ones but it’s still the same shit.

Billy’s cologne he used on his wrists:

with some ppl following me here bc of my analysis posts, i figured i'd do a lil pinned post for my fics so you guys know what all this analysis is even for in the First place, SO!

my current main focus:

In the Next Life

a trimax vashwood time travel longfic where late trimax vash (aka as late as chapter 94) travels back in time to try to fix things. he's determined to change things, hopes to have a happy ending in this time, but still can't let go of his grief for what he lost in the time before (cough Wolfwood cough). currently a WIP, this is gonna be a Long One, so if ur into longfic this could be for u. just mind the spoilers lol

& i guess i can mention my other Trigun fic that ppl seem to like:

Sentido

it's complete! started as just a drabble piece to give myself practice with writing these characters. it's a 5 chapter character study for Vash, exploring the ways his inhumanity manifests in each of his senses. it is also very much an autism metaphor done by Yours Truly (someone who clearly has the 'tism) bc i just think autistic Vash is very good. set in tristamp events bc i wrote this before i finished trimax, but has a lot of trimax influence (especially in the last chapter). i'd say it's a tristamp/trimax fusion.

It's a beautiful night in the spring, and the sakura trees at the back of the Uzui Estate are blooming, their pink colour muted in the night, but their petals still as soft as they float in the wind.

Yaku zones out a little as he looks across the gym at Kuroo and Kenma.

The Cross Guild is fighting the Straw Hats and Buggy actually has them on the ropes.

"Draw the short end of the stick, did you?" Mihawk asks dryly from where he's kneeling on a raised execution platform in front of this island's marine base.

Mihawk looks beautiful, looking up at the snow quietly falling around them and bringing a hush over the cold winter night.

Mihawk is taking a nap by a railing in a corner of the Red Force's main deck, hat hiding his face from the sun, when he feels a weight press into his stomach.

Shanks is stupidly early to his Calculus 1 class, and cursing Rayleigh’s name.

hmmm. seems like i generally like to start either with an action, or with situating the character(s). i would also like to think they all set the tone and/or establish the mood, as that's generally my goal with opening statements. hopefully from these statements you can guess at what the fics' vibes are at the start of their stories. i'm apparently also never vague or coy about who's in the story lol no mysterious opening lines for me.

There's nothing wrong with people having their dearest most specialest blorbo be Eric ztd it is unironically good for the ecosystem and I always love seeing the different perspectives from other fans but what I am here today to ask is why is no one like that about Mira. whatever happened to feminism.

#every categorically insane man in this series has their dedicated fans and every popular character also has a bunch of red flags so like #to be fair no one's too crazy about Lotus or Alice either hm like people either outright dislike them conceptually because of their designs #or you know just have an appreciation for them as characters but not quite focusing on them much at all #like me #and like are the tropes that make up her character problematic? yeah! that didn't stop y'all from liking Saito a whole lot #now he's better woven into the narrative of the game he's in but then my point's back to Eric lol #like it is just fucking ludicrous the amount of stuff in the whole Series not to mention the game Alone that she's responsible for #but it does feel disconnected (being responsible for the Kurashiki's parents deaths)#frustrating (being responsible for injecting Phi whith Rad-6)#and overall just kinda glossed over? (beheading Junpei and killing off D-Team that one time because she was in cahoots with Zero)#so like I get why people wouldn't like her she's a bad plot device but THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING #THAT'S NOT REALLY STOPPING ANYONE and it's not even like people are very vocal about hating her either #at most I've seen it be lumped in with some major complains about the game like as a whole #the way we find out so early she's a serial killer it's kinda shocking but not really? it ends up as just kinda ridiculous and underwhelming #imo that's the whole game but again even when it comes to people who Do Like this game #anyways free to reblog I Do wanna talk about this but I am absolutely Not putting this in the tag lmao could you imagine #like is the trope of having one big booba female character per game and for it to be a Defining Characteristic kinda not great? yeah #but also like shrug #we've let Uchikosh get away with worse
