“Red Robin, sound off. Status?”
“All good here, Oracle. Everything okay?”
It’s been a slow night, never a good sign. Pent up energy itches under his skin and he stretches when he stands, preparing for whatever Oracle is going to throw his way. It’s going to be something, he can tell.
“Good.” Relief briefly colours her voice answers, before she becomes serious again, keys clacking away in the background. “There’s been a report from Agent A. It appears that one Timothy Drake has been kidnapped and is being ransomed for five million dollars and a helicopter. I’m tracing the call now.”
“A helicopter, too? Kidnappers these days, used to be they just wanted their money and that would be the end of it… a fucking helicopter, wow.” Red Hood scoffs, and Red Robin can’t help but join in the laughter over the comms.
“Doesn’t exactly sound like these are the brightest tools in the shed now, does it, Hood? Wonder what poor schmuck they’ve got instead.” Nightwing says, slightly out of breath.
The smile slips off Red Robin’s face and clammy, cold dread shivers down his spine. A stone settles in his stomach. He wets his lips and clears his throat. “Oracle, can you pull up the CCTV on my apartment near WE? Any closer to tracing the call?”
“Still on the trace, they’re using a jammer. Agent A is cooperating so they should phone back soon, which will help.” she reports, falling into silence as he finds the video feed.
“You know who it is?”
“I hope not.”
It’s tense, he taps his feet on the rooftop, fingers tightening over his grapple as he fights the urge to fly off the roof and check for himself. It better not be him. Please, dear God, don’t let it not be him.
“What are you thinking, Red Robin?” Batman growls through the comms. Red Robin can hear the wind under his words, whipping fast as he no doubt makes his way over to his position.
“I had a, uh, a friend coming over tonight. From behind, he… he could be mistaken for Tim Drake.”
The jokes fall silent, the comms growing serious as they pick up on his tone.
“Well, fuck.”
“Eloquent as always, Hood.”
“Shut up, bat-brat.”
“You were right, Red Robin, it looks like it was your… friend they caught, instead. About two hours before the call came in. I’m following their van now, I should have the destination soon. In the meantime, it looks like they’re heading towards the docks.”
Red Robin throws himself off the building, shooting his grapple as low as he dares to get the fastest swing he can.
They have Danny.
Worry gnaws at his gut even as gravity pulls it into his throat with another swing.
Danny is… And Red Robin means this in the nicest way possible, but Danny is fragile. They haven’t talked about it, but RR knows that Danny has health problems. Something plaguing him since he was young, that’s landed him in the hospital more than once. A weak heart, far too slow to be normal, possibly chronic fatigue—he’s always so tired, falling asleep anywhere he can.
Sometimes, he doesn’t even need to put his head down. Once, when they had gone to the corner store to get some popcorn to enjoy their movie (which Danny had explicitly and repeatedly promised he wouldn’t snore through this time), Danny had rested his head on Tim’s shoulder while they were waiting and he’d just… gone. On his feet, asleep, just like that.
He’d laughed, when Tim woke him up. Apologised. Said Tim made him feel safe enough to fall asleep just about anywhere and—
Red Robin grits his teeth and corrects his course as Oracle updates them with more precise coordinates.
Tim had carried him home that night, piggy-back for four blocks, but by the end of it, he wasn’t tired at all. And that’s another thing, Danny’s just so light. It’s concerning.
They never did watch that movie, but it’s a night that Tim can’t help remembering fondly all the same. They’d ended up rewatching some old sitcom that Danny’s seen countless times but Tim’s never really bothered with, Danny drifting off to sleep again and Tim eventually following him, because… sleep is easy with Danny.
It’s the same for him, he thinks. He can’t explain it, but he feels safe enough to sleep with Danny, too.
He needs to be alright.
“So… Is this friend just a friend? Or a friend friend?”
“A friend, Nightwing. Now hurry up.”
He’s not in the mood to play these games, not now. There’s a reason why none of them know about Danny, and this is one of them. His family, as much as he loves them, are just too damn nosey for their own good.
“You know that doesn’t answer my question at all.”
“Then why don’t you ask something intelligible, rather than continue with your childish antics?” Robin snarks, and for once, Red Robin has to agree with him. Or, rather, he’s grateful for the distraction that it gives him.
Tim has secrets. He’s sure that Danny does, too, and so far—aside from the standard background check he always runs on new friends and friend friends alike—he’s done very well to respect them. He just can’t say that his family would do the same.
They can be overwhelming, to say the least, and Tim has tried his best to protect Danny from that.
Only to fail to protect him in every other way that it counts.
“How long have you guys been ‘friends’?”
“Nightwing, save it, please.”
“What’s his name?”
He ignores him.
Red Robin lands on the building first, thank goodness. He wastes no time in finding a skylight that can be pried open fairly quietly, slipping inside without a second thought.
“Wait for backup, Red Robin, that is an order!” Batman says, when he lets them know he’s in.
“Negative, Batman. I’m getting him back.”
“Red Robin!”
He weaves silently through the desks on the second floor of the warehouse, always moving, always keeping a trained eye on the shadows around him.
When he reaches the stairs, he hears voices.
“Looks like three of them, armed. The-the hostage is tied to a chair in the middle of the room, he…” Red Robin takes a steadying breath. The person has a burlap sack over their head is slumped to the side, from where he is, Red Robin can’t see if his chest is moving. There’s blood on the floor. “He needs medical assistance. Another two on the northside entrance.”
The comms explode in admonitions, everyone pleading with him to stay where he is, to wait for help, but fuck that. With a tap, he switches them off and he can finally, just about make out the words of the kidnappers as he creeps down the first few steps.
“—shouldn’t he have woken up by now?”
“I don’t know, man, you’re the one that hit him! Do you think he’s—”
“No! I didn’t even hit him that hard, I swear!” the man cries, holding his hands up in surrender. “I just couldn’t take any more of his stupid jokes!”
If there was any doubt in Red Robin’s mind that they picked up Danny by mistake, it’s gone now. Yeah. If you get Danny, you get his stupid jokes, too.
He creeps closer.
There’s some storage crates between him and Danny, if he can get behind there without being seen then that leaves him in a good position for when whoever’s next in takes out the guys at the front. He can’t do anything without them gone first, not without risking them taking shots inside and endangering Danny.
The man that hit Danny circles round behind him and grabs at his hands.
“What are you even doing, Pat? Who gives a shit, leave him alone.”
“I’m just checking! I just gotta see!”
“Fuck’s sake, guys, who cares? We just gotta get our money, that’s it—”
“And our helicopter!”
“And our—”
“Shit, I can’t find a pulse! Shit, Frank, I killed him, I—”
Jason told him once that when the Pits overtook him, he used to see green. Instead of blacking out, he’d be swimming in that putrid Lazarus colour and he’d slip into that rage and bad things would happen.
He’s heard of people seeing red, too, but really, he thinks that’s more of a literary device.
Tim doesn’t see anything aside from his targets.
A barrage of birdarangs take the guns from the guys at the front, the three around Danny startling badly enough that the guy that kil—that’s behind Danny—stumbles, losing his footing.
Only one of them shoots.
Amateurs.
There’s a round of curses on the comms as the shots come through. Oracle must have turned them back on.
“Fucking hell—Nightwing and I are at the front, Red Robin, don’t worry about them.”
Red Robin’s barely listening.
He spins, kicking the largest guy in the stomach hard enough so that he doubles over, wheezing. Following through the movement, another kick lands on the side of his head and he’s down.
The second one, Frank, gets his wits about him and raises his gun, spraying wildly. He’s a shit shot, going wide in panic, and Red Robin simply ducks and rushes forward, keeping low. Tackling the guy, he grabs the gun off of him and uses it to smash him across the face, once, twice, three times, before he stops moving.
“Oracle, get police and paramedics on scene, now.” Batman says, the displeasure in his voice evident. “Red Robin, Robin and I are coming in from the top.”
Pat hasn’t even made it up off the floor yet, scrambling backwards, fear plain on his face.
Red Robin stands, breathing heavily, gun still in hand.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I swear I didn’t mean to do it! Please—please, don’t, please!”
Red Robin doesn’t kill.
Well, no, Red Robin doesn’t normally kill.
No, that’s not quite right, either.
Red Robin has killed. Red Robin will more than likely kill again. Red Robin sees no problem with killing.
The gun is up, pointing towards the guy without any real thought about it.
Footsteps rush behind him, the familiar heavy footfalls of Batman and Robin, so he doesn’t bother turning around. The gun follows the guy as he keeps pulling himself backwards, snot and tears mingling down his face.
“Red Robin,” Batman says, softly.
It’s always weird hearing Batman’s voice like that. It’s not the first time, obviously—Batman can’t use his scary intimidating voice on victims or children, after all—but having it used on him is weird.
“Breathe.”
“He’s dead. They killed him.”
If hearing Batman’s voice was weird, Red Robin can’t even recognise his own.
Distantly, he realises he’s dissociating. There’s a tightness in his chest, it’s hard to breathe, a growing buzz drowns out any noise in his ears and he can’t think, he can’t—
A heavy hand squeezes his shoulder, jolting him out of his thoughts. Batman reaches around and gently removes the gun from his grip, and Tim feels the instant loss of it. He should have done it, why hadn’t he done it?
Robin takes care of the last man, his crying cut off by a swift kick to the head. Nightwing and Red Hood join them, zip-tying the men on the floor and starting to drag them back to the entrance of the warehouse one by one.
No one says a word.
Shrugging off Batman’s hand, Tim moves towards the chair.
Shaking, he takes a deep breath and removes the sack. The small part of him that was left hoping it wasn’t him, it couldn’t be him, please dear God let it not be him, shatters.
Even dead, he looks peaceful.
Tim’s seen death. He’s no stranger to it, he’s seen what it can do to a person. There’s some blood coagulating over his eyebrows, but otherwise, he looks peaceful. Is that comforting? That he didn’t suffer?
Danny’s head lolls to the side as the sack comes completely away, his hair flopping over his eyes. Tim’s been on at him to get a haircut lately, he thinks it’ll be nice tidied up a bit, just on the sides. It’ll get rid of that permanent bedhead. Help him with job interviews, he’s got to be thinking about that now that he’s in his last year of college.
It’s about the only thing that’ll hold him back, Tim thinks. Danny’s brilliant. Any employer would be a fool to turn him down because of his shaggy hair, but employers are stupid so it makes sense to put your best foot forward and—
Tim falls to his knees.
Fuck.
He’s dead, he’s really—Danny’s skin is horribly pale, cold to the touch. Gone is his bright, cheerful smile.
“Danny, I’m sorry, I’m so, so sorry, I—”
He stops himself with a deep, shuddering breath. He can’t break down here, he can’t, he can’t, he can’t.
Instead, he tips forward to rest his head in Danny’s lap, arms curling around himself. They were too late. They got here as fast as they could and they were too late.
“Danny, I’m so sorry…” he whispers. “I… I love you, I love you, I’m sorry.”
Dimly, he can feel the others standing around them. Someone crouches down beside him, resting a comforting arm over his back, but he doesn’t turn his head to see who it is. He squeezes his grip on Danny’s legs tighter.
“Come on, baby bird. Let’s—”
They’re interrupted by a huge, honking snore as Danny jerks himself awake.
Tim’s head snaps up, staring at Danny with wide eyes.
“You were asleep?” Red Robin springs up, several different emotions rapidly flip flopping through him.
“Wha… What?” Danny heaves a yawn, blinking blearily down at him. “Sorry, I’m just… they were shit kidnappers, man, really boring. Honestly, worst abduction yet.”
“You were asleep? I thought you were dead!”
“Not mutually exlusive, you know.” Danny says through another yawn. He rolls his neck around with an almighty crack and glances at everyone. “Didn’t think I’d warrant the whole Bat brigade, though…”
“The kidnappers thought they had Tim Drake.” Batman supplies, while Red Robin tries to work through the emotional whiplash.
“Ah, makes sense… wait.” Danny sits up suddenly, squinting at Red Robin. “Did you say you loved me?”
“No, of course not, why would I—”
“Tim? Is that—are you—are you Red Robin?”
“Everyone, hold the fuck up!” Red Hood shouts from the other side of the warehouse, having finished securing the perps to a streetlight outside. “Double R is dating Danny fucking Nightingale?”
Well, there goes his identity… Oh, who’s he kidding, Danny’s smart. There’s no way he could have salvaged that. This was not how he thought the night was going to go.
“Cranberry, is that you?” Danny twists in his chair, somehow delighted to see Red Hood rescuing him, too. “I thought I smelled you lurking about!”
“Shut it, you little shit. Since when were you dating this dweeb?”
“I’m sorry,” Red Robin pleads, hands in the air to try and slow down the onslaught of information and insults, “you two know each other?”
“Cranberry?” Nightwing echoes, looking as lost as Red Robin feels.
“Yeah, Cranberry—The Cranberries—zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie. Obviously. Also he’s wearing a big, fuck off red helmet.”
“Yeah, sure, makes sense.”
It’s about the only thing that does.
“And please don’t call my boyfriend a dweeb, Cranberry. Especially when he just said he loves me for the first time.”
“He only said it because he thought you were dead.”
“I am dead, so it counts.”
“Only half, so I’d say that puts you at a solid ‘like’. Tim’s—and savour this, Tim, because I’m only going to say it once—Tim’s intelligent, so I’m sure he’ll come to his senses soon.”
Danny just throws Red Hood such a shit-eating grin. A level of feral that Tim’s only seen before in Damian.
“That’s what I used to say about Jazz, too.”
Hood scoffs in offence, and to be honest, Tim’s not sure where he should go from here. What the hell is happening, how do they know each other?
“Come on, is anyone going to untie me or am I really meeting your family mafia-style?”
“Do it yourself, Slimer.” Red Hood laughs, crossing his arms.
“Ugh, you suck so much. I’ll fucking slime you, just you wait. Can’t believe Jazz even likes you, I preferred it when she was dating Johnny.”
And then, without Danny doing anything other than muttering obscenities at Red Hood, the ropes fall to the ground. In one swift motion, Danny stands up and stretches himself to his full height of 5’6.
“All of you need to explain, now.” commands Batman, and honestly, Red Robin’s very much on his side of it.
“I can’t believe it… Jason and Timmy are both in secret relationships? That’s… How come no one told me?” Poor Nightwing sounds the most shocked out of all of them. He turns to Damian and clasps onto both of his shoulders. “You’re not secretly dating, are you, D? Please tell me you’re not, please tell me you’re single, please?”
Of course, Robin just clicks his tongue and pushes his hands away. Really, Red Robin doesn’t think that Nightwing’s in any danger of that happening, he’d be surprised if anyone could stand Robin enough to actually date him.
He shakes his head and turns to Danny, who’s staring right back at him, worry clear on his face.
Fuck, he... He's alive. He's really alive.
Tim pulls him into a bone-crushing hug, fingers buried deep in his NASA shirt. Tucking his face into the crook of Danny's shoulder, he laughs wetly with the joy of it. He's alive. He hasn't lost him. He's safe.
“I’m sorry I haven’t told you before now, starshine, but…” Danny breaks the hug and softly pulls away from him to rise on his tiptoes to place a kiss his cheek. The skin burns cold where his lips touch. “I love you, too. Also, you’re gonna wanna sit down. This is going to be a lot.”

Is there a specific way to read the vampire chronicles or some books you should skip (I’ve just heard that some aren’t that good but like I’m up for anything)? And what books are focused on Louis and Lestat?
Okay I hope you weren't looking for a short answer to this because there isn't one 😭 Rather than just give my uncontextualized opinion, I'm going to try to explain what makes some (most) of VC so unbelievably terrible in so many people's eyes. There are going to be spoilers for pretty much all the books, but most of it is either incredibly stupid or information that you might want relating to content warnings. I'll list what applies to each book as I go.
I'm assuming you're here from my VC primer post, but if not, I'll link it right here! It gives a bit more detail on my short answer to your main question which is: if you value your sanity, only read the first three. Also a note to read the post I linked at the bottom of it about Anne Rice for context. It will help with understanding the tone this post takes re: the author.
To quickly answer your second question, I am sad to report that Interview with the Vampire is the only book focused on Loustat because after that Anne Rice decided that she hated Louis. Their relationship is on and off in the (very, VERY distant) background until they finally get together permanently towards the end of the series, but it's never the focal point again. She just kept us all on the hook by having one absolutely brain chemistry altering ship moment in a majority of the books (my compilation of those moments here).
Okay, on to specifics:
Interview with the Vampire: a literary classic with incredible character building. I'm assuming we can all agree that IWTV is fantastic and anyone who is reading this because of the show is probably already sold on it. If that's where you're coming from, you might be a bit disappointed by how unsympathetic Lestat can be, but that'll be remedied(ish) later. Lestat is the main character in the series going forward. Enjoy this Louis content because this is pretty much the end of it.
CW: keep in mind that the beginning of the book takes place on a plantation with all that entails; there are some occasional pedophilic and incestuous undertones, but nothing out of place with Gothic horror (it gets so much worse); domestic violence
The Vampire Lestat: this is widely considered to be excellent popular fiction rather than something as elevated as IWTV, but it's a 5-star read according to most fans. Lestat is such a vibrant, exciting character and so much more than the charismatic villain he was in IWTV (the AMC show incorporates a lot of his characterization from this book, as IWTV was originally a stand-alone novel without any real idea of what Lestat would become).
Aside from a (delightful) cameo at the end of the book, Louis is now in Anne Rice Jail and will not be allowed to do anything for the next nine books except be tortured once like a bug for no reason.
CW: a non-consensual turning that is directly analogous to sexual assault; descriptions of child abuse; Lestat, unfortunately, tongue kisses his mom
Queen of the Damned: this is the last book that most fans like. I personally consider it a step down from the first two, but I strongly prefer intimate, character driven stories and QotD is very plotty. It's a fun book, but some cracks start to show in AR's writing that will become a big problem later. Still, it's enjoyable and the ending is very satisfying for the story arc and for the characters. It also contains a fan favorite chapter that follows Daniel, the interviewer, and his insane romance with the vampire Armand.
If you want to be a happy person, turn back now.
CW: non-con blood drinking/vampiric SA; casual racism and pro-imperialism
***CATEGORY 5 EVENT: ANNE RICE FIRES HER EDITOR PERMANENTLY***
The Tale of the Body Thief: this is considered by most fans (obligatory not ALL) to be the worst book in the series simply for how the subject matter is handled. This is the beginning of AR transforming Lestat into something very existentially disturbing without even meaning to. The sympathetic, charming, evil-but-not-really theater kid Lestat is gone without a trace in a way that could be a very insightful look at the aftermath of trauma but is instead deeply insensitive and really upsetting.
Lestat from here on out becomes a hypermasculine caricature that can do no wrong according to the narrative and this has some pretty awful results. There are a few funny moments (like Lestat describing the sensation of peeing for two full pages) and a very cute arc where he adopts a dog, but he also commits two explicit rapes and emotionally abuses/threatens Louis on several occasions with the authorial justification that "men can't help themselves", abuse victims have it coming for setting boundaries, and people who have suffered abuse become abusers. This will be a recurring theme going forward.
Not related to Lestat, but also an Indian man is killed and has his body stolen and inhabited by a white British man in what would be a great metaphor for colonialism if the author thought that was a bad thing.
I am on the last chapter of a 140,000 word fic that I wrote just because I hate TotBT so much and wanted to create a world where it doesn't have to exist. It's one of the most popular VC fics on ao3, and that's not a testament to my writing ability, but rather to how much people hate this book.
CW: graphic SA; domestic violence; insensitivity to the point of racism; the author thinking these things are okay
Memnoch the Devil: not much to say about this. It's AR's ripoff of Dante's Inferno. Lestat meets the devil, goes to hell, drinks the blood of Jesus Christ, loses an eye, vacuum sucks period blood out of a woman's uterus and pad, and then falls into a five year semi-coma on a church floor. Somehow it's still boring. Best I can say is that the Lestat characterization is a bit less heinous than it is in the previous book.
CW: not much here unless you have an issue with period blood guzzling
The Vampire Armand: truly a notorious book in the series, beloved by some, hated by many. There's some good backstory for the character Armand (he first appears in IWTV, likely in season two of the show) and some fun historical fiction, however. Armand begins his story as a twelve year old human child who is rescued from sex slavery by an ancient vampire, Marius (he was namedropped in AMC ep 2).
Over the course of the book, he's physically, mentally, sexually abused by Marius, his teacher and father figure who is, like David, presented as a wise and moral authorit figure. In addition, Armand carries on a sexual relationship with an adult man as a minor. The sex is graphic (it's erotica) and it's really the peak of the pedophilia in VC. Keep in mind that this is coming from an author who publicly defended a child predator and thought that 14 year old kids could consent and should be allowed to have sex with adults.
Of all the later books, this one is the most widely enjoyed because Marius/Armand is a fairly popular ship.
CW: CSA/grooming; statutory rape; explicit adult/minor content; child abuse; cult abuse
Merrick: evil, evil book. AR's giant fuck you to Louis and anyone who likes his character. Lestat is in his devil coma for most of this book, so it's narrated by his newest fledgling and rape victim, David (who I and most others despise. This is the white guy who has an Indian body now). By this point, AR had openly admitted that she didn't like Louis, and she kind of spends this book tormenting and mocking him for no reason.
The titular Merrick (a mixed-race witch drowned in awful racial connotations) mind controls Louis with magic, then forces him to turn her (again, AR has confirmed that this is vampire rape) and be in a relationship. After this, she conjures a "ghost" that may or may not be Louis and Lestat’s dead daughter who tells Louis she always hated him and blamed him for her death. Completely overcome by grief, without Lestat (coma), and having been raped, Louis attempts suicide.
This event and all his mental health issues up to this point are framed by David as being stupid and weak, the sign of a lesser person who should just go and die because they deserve it. It is worth mentioning yet again that David is framed as being in the right and AR had expressed these opinions herself in the past (ie that mental illness is just weakness and you should be able to get over it).
Another fun thing is that Merrick was groomed by David as a child and he spends most of the book wanting her back and also admitting to other acts of pedophilia. So that's fun and great for a character who's supposed to be a voice of reason and moral center.
0/10, despise this book.
CW: sexual assault; grooming; attempted suicide
Blood & Gold: this is Marius' backstory. It is a completely pointless book because we've already heard it twice by this point in the series (and if you read the companion book Pandora, you'll hear it again). The whole thing reads like a Wikipedia page about ancient Rome. Read it if you want I guess.
CW: Marius
Blackwood Farm: this book had...potential? None of that was ever achieved, but I'll at least say that the concept could be worse. Lestat acquires his FIFTH brunette sadboi love interest of the series in this book, so that's kind of funny. Overall though, any positive qualities are overshadowed by weird prose, a really transphobic caricature, and the fact that the main character has shower sex with the ghost of his dead twin brother
CW: transphobia; sibling incest
Blood Canticle: Miss Rice decided to. Get creative with this book. It is a fandom joke. It is the worst prose in existence. It is a literary manic episode. It is truly indescribable. I'm just going to leave this excerpt from ch 1 here and let you imagine an entire book of this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, chapter one is Anne Rice using Lestat as a proxy to berate her readers for not liking Memnoch the Devil. It's also important to me that you know Lestat calls himself "omnisensual" in this book, tries to become a saint, and tells a woman to put some clothes on because men can't control themselves. The word "chuckle" is also written out in the prose in italics like this is ff.net in 2010. The best thing that came of this book is the famous AR Amazon reviews rant (now a beloved VC fandom copypasta). Please read it. It's transcendent.
CW: psychologically devastating prose
Prince Lestat: this is AR's comeback book, published 12 years after Blood Canticle. It's an improvement, but it's still terrible and very, VERY dumb. Lestat has completed his transformation into a macho man male power fantasy for AR and we end with the establishment of a vampire monarchy with Lestat in charge because he slurped and then puked up the brains of the vampire who had the Special Vampire Essence.
Mostly this was an excuse for AR to kill off a bunch of her weird NPCs that she didn't know what to do with. The good news is we get a very cute, official Loustat love confession and for the first time since the first book in the entire series, we get a chapter that's Louis' POV!! It's like 7 pages long but it's the best we're ever going to get.
Other fun thing that happens: Lestat is hooked up to a hormone IV that allows him to fuck (book vampires can't) and the resident scientist vampire steals his cum and creates a petri dish clone of Lestat that is raised in secret for 18 years before being given to Lestat as his son. No, I'm not joking.
CW: uh, brain eating? Insanely unethical human experimentation?
Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis: batshit crazy book. Truly bonkers. There are aliens, Atlantis is real, Lestat has a sentient brain parasite that controls all vampires and talks to him in his mind like the PS5, vampire brain surgery occurs, a choir of child vampires is there, an alien named Derek breastfeeds a disembodied hand until it grows into his clone named Derek Two, and so much more.
The one positive is that after decades of harassment, AR finally lets Louis be a main character again. By this point he has been completely stripped of his personality (I call it the Louis Lobotomy) and exists solely as Lestat's sexy lamp, but whatever. He's there and they're cute together. How they managed to become a healthy, functional couple overnight after two hundred years of drama is never explained.
Lestat makes out with his rapist and talks about how he was asking for it in a particularly nauseating scene, but otherwise it's pretty tame trigger-wise
CW: rape apologia/victim blaming
Blood Communion: we are finally being put out of our misery. The end of the series. This is such a boring book and Lestat’s characterization is completely nonsensical by now. Several main characters are presumed dead for a while and by this point you don't even care. Not even the other characters in the book seem to care. Its only use is to get that sweet sweet Loustat happy ending.
CW: temporary character death
-
Alright, that was a lot of shit-talking a book series I literally run a fandom blog and write hundreds of thousands of words of fic for, but the truth is, fans are here for the characters as they were originally created. The first three books are wonderful, the first two completely masterful and case studies in how character building should be done. There's a reason they've been read and analyzed and fawned over for forty years. What happened to the series is heartbreaking, but it doesn't negate the impact of how it started.
AR may have started spelling her own characters' names wrong and writing a baffling combination of disgusting hot takes and total absurdity, but she created something special in the beginning and I'll always love it and be grateful for what it once was.
I hope that was helpful!

Um Hi, So I'm super late to the party when it comes to shipping Brainy and Kara but I really enjoyed your writing and was hoping you could recommend some stuff if you don't mind, please? Even the actual comics if you know which have them romantically involved? Again, really loved your works and hope to see more. Thank you. :)
Hi!! Welcome to the ship! And aw, thanks, I'm glad you liked my writing! I'm sorry there isn't more of it - I'm really bad at finishing things. 😩
But hmm, okay, Karadox recs. I have a few things in mind. This is going to get kinda long, so I'm just gonna put the rest under a cut, I think...
Okay! If you're looking for fics, @cyclone-rachel has written a lot of great stuff for Kara and Brainy (mostly the CW versions). I'm sure Rachel can recommend some more fic writers, too.
If you're looking for comics, I'd suggest Supergirl Annual #2 (2010) as a nice (mostly) one-off comic that focuses on the beginning of their relationship. Also Supergirl (2005) #52, which is technically part of a larger "Last Stand of New Krypton" arc, but I suppose it can be read on its own, and it has a lot of great Karadox stuff.
Tumblr media
There are also some comics that you might not expect to have good Karadox content in them that actually do, such as the Legion of Super-Heroes/Bugs Bunny Special (2017) and the "Sugar & Spike" story from Legends of Tomorrow (2016) #6. You can also read the "House of Kent" arc in Action Comics (2016) #1022-#1028 if you want, because Kara and Brainy are both featured in most of those issues. They don't interact as much as I personally would've liked, but they have some nice moments, and there was definitely some romantic setup happening towards the end.
Supergirl & the Legion of Super-Heroes (2006) is another option, but be warned that Kara and Brainy are NOT romantically involved in that version of the Legion (Brainy was paired up with Dream Girl's ghost instead... it was a whole thing) so their dynamic isn't as good as it normally is. But they do at least interact a lot.
Honestly, the majority of Kara and Brainy's comic romance took place before Crisis on Infinite Earths (meaning pre-1985), and I haven't actually read most of those older comics yet, just bits and pieces here and there. Someone like @supergirltastic would be a much better person to ask for those specific comic recommendations.
Oh! You should also DEFINITELY watch the new Legion of Super-Heroes animated movie if you haven't yet! It's basically Karadox: The Movie™ lol, it was a lot of fun and had fantastic writing for both of them. Unfortunately it's not on HBO Max yet though, so to watch it you'll either have to buy/rent it or, uh, y'know... 🏴‍☠️
Tumblr media
And make sure you watch the "Far From Home" episode of Justice League Unlimited (season 3, episode 10) too! It's basically a 20-minute speed-run of Kara and Brainy's relationship and it's veryyy cute. (It's also one of the only stories I can think of that gives them a happy ending.)
Tumblr media
Anyway, that's all I've got for now! I hope this was helpful!! I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff, but in my defense it's almost 2 AM right now lol.
If anyone else has other Karadox things to rec, feel free to add on to this!

books i read in sept 2023
Tumblr media
[these are all short + casual reviews - feel free to ask about individual ones if u want my full thoughts or ask for my goodreads!!]
sometimes u travel somewhere where u have a relative lot of downtime + no data and u reinvent urself as a person who reads
she who became the sun (reread) + he who drowned the world - shelley parker-chan ★★★★★ (historical fantasy)
i reread swbts before tackling hwdtw and the way that this duology is so emotionally devastating! big win for readers who are fans of characters tearing the world apart in their grief and then realizing they cannot live in their new world! and the insane gender goodstuff, of course. ough. will think about this for a while
into the riverlands - nghi vo ★★★★★ (fantasy)
excellent third entry to the series that felt more fun than the other two thus far - i love playing around with myths and legendmaking
[reread] raven quest - sharon stewart ★★★★★ (adventure)
really happy to find out that this book from my childhood absolutely holds up. tightly plotted and paced and really poignant. i love animal adventures <3
the last devil to die - richard osman ★★★★★ (mystery)
no more withholding 5*s from genre fiction!! this book made me tear up for real so even though a silly murder mystery is probably never going to change my life, we have to give credit where credit is due. the most character-focused entry of the series so far and it definitely shows!
war of the foxes - ricahrd siken ★★★★☆ (poetry)
individually less interesting but collectively more coherent than crush. it's cool to have a conversation with a bit of poetry standing in a field, and I do love a good metaphor
the paper menagerie - ken liu ★★★★☆ (sci fi short stories)
great collection to go over slowly - i suspect it might have felt a bit tedious reading it front to back in a sitting. i liked how chinese a number of the stories felt. lots of ideas to chew on!
the poisonwood bible - barbara kingsolver ★★★★☆ (historical)
i just know this book went crazy in high school english class! it has themes and motifs and characters to compare and contrast! there's so much rich ground for analysis. and also treating characters like a bizarre personality test (the avenue of entertainment i chose). fantastic book to chew on and i greatly enjoyed talking to people about it
carrie - stephen king ★★★★☆ (horror)
yeah, i get the hype! this is a book that's impossible to read divorced from how deeply it's ingrained in current popular culture, but it stands up beautifully for itself. i'd love to read more analysis of it that puts in the cultural context of the 70s
hotline - dimitri nasrallah ★★★★☆ (historical)
surprisingly kind and hopeful story, definitely lovely if you want something feel-good. i really enjoyed how the occasional french was threaded into the english, it felt very montreal to me
the monstrumologist - rick yancey ★★★★☆ (historical horror)
tremendously gory and often unsettling. i found myself surprisingly attached to the characters and all the historical affectations of the book - it's not a series that i'm itching to continue but it was a good read
hark! a vagrant - kate beaton ★★★★☆ (historical humour graphic novel)
skimmed through parts of this but it was a fun read from cover to cover. always entertaining to see the origins of some very famous internet memes and there are also some hidden gems!
dead silence - s. a. barnes ★★★☆☆ (sci fi horror)
the author writes a very good spooky ship and very mediocre everything else
the word is murder + the sentence is death + a line to kill + the twist of a knife - anthony horowitz (-★★★☆☆+) (mystery)
decent murder mystery series. the author self-insert is goofy, the random homophobia is persistent, but they're quick and easy reads that go down like junk food
all that's left in the world - erik j. brown ★★★☆☆ (post-apocalyptic romance)
genre-mash that just didn't quite work for me. the tonal shifts between "fluffy gay YA romance" and "the world has ended post-apocalyptic bleakness" were jarring and the book never felt like it cohered into anything meaningful

I know this is a Shadamy blog but what is your opinion on Sonamy? Like, do you think the two ships are capable of coexistence? Maybe a live triangle kind of thing? Do you just tolerate Sonamy or like it just as much as Shadamy? Or do you just not enjoy the ship at all? I guess the same question could be applied to other Amy or Shadow ships that aren’t Shadamy.
Ah ha ha oh boy. (ಡ▽ಡ*)ゞ
So, fun fact (and part of the reason why I took so long to get back to you- I had to find this) @madeofchocolate asked me about SonAmy a while ago. I answered here, but I want to expand upon it for your question since you go beyond just 'what do you think of SonAmy). I will also note that my observations and headcanons are based on games alone. While I like enjoying other aspects of the franchise, I don't consider things like Sonic the Comic, SatAM, or IDW canon to the core lore, if that makes sense (And if it doesn't, that's okay. It's just the way my brain works, so understand that's how I'm coming into this.) 1- From a fandom perspective: Yeah absolutely all ships can and should coexist. The fact that ship battles were even a THING blows my mind. I don't understand why such vitriol could come out of something like, you know, fake hedgehogs, but whatever.
There are very few ships that I actively dislike. SonAmy isn't one of them.
I also don't dislike most other Shadow or Amy ships. Been seeing a lot of SurgeAmy and BlazeAmy which are super cute, and SonAdow has gotten much gentler and sweeter over the years, which is nice to see.
It's not like I don't read other ships either, or look at art for them. When someone is able to take the character and, in what I perceive to be a good application of canon, make a ship concept work? Oh I'm always thrilled. Plus, it's nice to look at something from a new angle, you know? I think the thing that would make me turn away would be, 'Are they still in character.' If they're not what I would perceive to be, 'in character,' then I'm no longer interested. It just loses the fun for me, you know?
Basically, I like watching people take the puzzle pieces of different people and make cohesive sculptures out of them, if that makes sense. If what they come up with isn't cohesive to me, then it's just... not for me 〜〜(/ ̄▽)/ That includes SonShadAmy. I've seen a lot more art and writing about them in recent years. In fact, past two years I think there's been a ship week for them, which is awesome! Again though, not really my cup of tea. I just don't gravitate towards that.
2- From a canon-compliant point of view. I just- I think Sonic is Aro/Ace, and in such a way that they experience no sexual or romantic attraction.
That's really the core of it. That's why I don't intrinsically ship Sonic with anyone.
Furthermore, I really don't believe that Sonic is the partner that would benefit Amy best (as stated in the linked post above) or, for that matter, Shadow.
Specifically about SonAdow, like, Shadow and Sonic to me have a really cool relationship built off of parallels and perpendicular, working as foils for one another beautifully in that way, but I don't necessarily see the romance of it (unless, again, someone does a fantastic job of showcasing that, and even then, I will like that artist/writer and be indifferent about the ship.) _(:3 」∠)_ You might laugh, but of all the people I would personally ship Sonic with, like if I HAD to pick someone, it would be Knuckles. Like- you go and listen to their Frontiers dialog for a second and you too will be going (O.O) I... (wow I typed a lot) I hope this answered your question XD If not, feel free to send another message, and I'll try to parse down and focus on what you were asking. I hope I didn't overwhelm you with this wall of text XD

AO3 wrapped!
Respond to this with what you would call the top 5 fanfics you’ve read in 2022. Any genre! Any ship! (Bonus points: if you’re a creator, make this a 5+1 and include your favorite fic you wrote in 2022!)
Then leave this in your friends’ asks too. Let’s give creators one more spotlight before the year ends, and share some of what we’ve enjoyed along the way!
Ok this was not easy because I read some fantastic fics this year because you are so insanely talented. Here is my list:
First Class to Tatooine by @mandosmistress
This is an amazing Din x Female Reader fic that was so perfect to read after Din returned in the Book of Boba Fett. That's the link to the first chapter, but definitely do yourself a favor and read the whole thing.
Sins of the Father by @imabeautifulbutterfly
This is a multi-chapter epic of Din x Female OC who is an absolute badass. It's a great story that will make you cheer, yell, and cry your eyes out. The link is to the masterlist for the fic.
Grogu’s Day at the Beach (not the official title) by @grogusmum
Grogusmum writes the absolute cutest stories ever in Grogu’s voice, and you should absolutely read them right away. Grogu is full of sass and sweetness, and you will adore it!
Deeply Devoted by @wheresarizona
A very touching Din x Female Reader fic that I just adored for its sweetness and passion. If you know me you know I'm a sucker for Din being a sweetheart.
Candy Girl by @lady--kenobi
The very spicy tale of a sex worker and the Coruscant Guard. I have to say before this fic, I really didn't care for Commander Fox at all, but this story made me change my mind. Link is to the Masterlist.
Grogu’s Teacher by me
This fic started as a silly conversation between me and the wonderful @boomtowngirl and then somehow turned into a multi-chapter fic. If you like fluff and pure romance, I hope you enjoy this Din x Female Reader fic 💕

Is kagehina your favourite ship in haikyuu??
Hope you don't mind me asking is there a reason for your shift in writing from romance to platonic? I really enjoy all of your writing btw just wanted to ask as I was rereading one of your fics.
Also what is the fav among the ones you wrote?
Hope you hav a wonderful day
Omg omg, hello there, anon!!! :D And eep this ask is so!!! Thanks for dropping by, your questions are really fun!
Long answer incoming, pls proceed with caution ;-;
For your first question, oh man, you're making me open a can of worms here (laughs) how to explain… I don't think I really have a favorite ship, since I don't "ship" anyone in Haikyuu!! in the strictest sense. It's more of, I like Hinata a lot, there's something about his character that scratches the itch for me, and his relationship with other characters are interesting to explore. There's a revolving door of shows where I actively ship characters--like I'm very much cheering for specific pairs to become endgame--but I often don't feel compelled enough to write them. I'm not really a writer writer, I've never aspired to be the next Stephen King, I don't want it as my day job, I hate the act of writing. And I'm not being self-deprecating when I say it. I really, really hate it. So the urge to get to know the characters on a much deeper level must be super strong, enough for me to park my butt in front of my ancient laptop and grind out walls of text that some unlucky schmuck might come across someday. And Hinata pretty much ticked all the right boxes.
I must admit, Kageyama was a slowburn of a character for me, but it's more of a case of his character archetype usually being a hit or miss for me (pls don't murder me kgym fans). But looking at him through Hinata's perspective made me appreciate him a lot, like a fuckton, he's more than just the cold blue-eyed anime guy who's stereotypically talented in one thing (and srsly Hinata would come out of the manga and bludgeon me if I said otherwise), and right now I can honestly say Kageyama's one of my favorite characters in the manga. Plus he's silly. I like my anime men irredeemably silly.
It's pretty much par for the course for me though lmao. I find Hinata fascinating, and because I'm a very basic, very predictable person, the things Hinata loves I grow to love as well. And in the entire series, it's pretty much undeniable who Hinata cares for the most. That's why I write about Hinata and Kageyama as a pair, even though I don't exactly have this desire to have them be romantically linked all the time.
I also hope that partly answers your question about my fics being romantic or platonic. Like tbh I don't really have a particular reason for choosing "/" or "&"; it depends on the type of story I wanted to tell and the aspects of their canon relationship I wanted to highlight in my own work. For a hurt/comfort or coming of age story, maybe a more romantic vibe might fit, and for an adventure-heavy one it might not. It really depends. If I'm being honest I prefer writing gen stories because it gives me the most freedom to explore, and for the fandoms I've been on it's always the gen fics that moved me the most.
As for fics I wrote that I liked… …… … I wrote a short and silly PJO fic of Annabeth Chase & Thalia Grace back in the day, but I'm pretty sure I've deleted every trace of it in the web. It was pure, unhinged trash, but I had a fantastic time planning it and coming up with limericks for fic!Annabeth to solve. Makes me laugh just remembering it.
Thanks for your time, anon! :D Hope you're having a splendid start to your year!!!

Fic Writers Meme
Answering them out of order so I can put a read more over the snippet. I chose a long snippet haha. Also for those interested in my tpom fanfic things, check out my other side blog (@gwens-projects)
3) Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole?
There are so many tropes out there, I'm sure there is something that if I come across it I wouldn't be fond of. However, off the top of my head I'm struggling. Maybe the trope of joking incest between family members for sake of comedy trope? And gross/bathroom/vomit humor tropes?
I know kids shows both of the above show up sometimes and I get squicked out.
15) If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?
Oh, my A Scientific Romance series. It would make a great spin off soap opera for Penguins of Madagascar.
16) If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?
Seeing as how the past couple of years I have written few ships that were not Franski (Kowalski x Dr Francis Blowhole), it would probably be that one. The dorks snuck into my fics, and even their dynamic has entered some of my original wips.
8) Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
I'll explain first, then show the snippet so it's not so long. First off, this comes from my fic Scientist Overboard. It's from the opening chapter where Kowalski and Blowhole are having breakfast together. I love the snark and banter. I love the domesticness. I love I based this off a tumblr post where a couple were arguing over toast. Overall, I just had a blast writing it.
"Of course I made sure it had different heating options." He rolled his eyes as the herring popped up after a couple minutes. He picked up a pair of nearby tongs to fish the herring out and sat them on a plate. "See? Nicely toasted."
The dolphin leaned in closer to inspect it. "Yep. Nice and burnt."
"What?!" Kowalski looked at the herring himself again. "No! That's not burnt. That is sufficiently toasted."
"Sufficiently overdone perhaps."
"Alright, alright, so I'll cook yours at a lower setting." He turned the dial down.
Blowhole then reached over and turned the dial down even further. "That should be about right right there."
Kowalski squinted at this but nevertheless dropped two herrings into the toaster again and pressed them down. "While this cooks I'm going to-" He then is interrupted by the herring popping right back up. "Great cod that was barely in there!" He fished them out and looked at them. "These don't even look toasted!"
Blowhole looked down at them and nodded. "Looks right to me."
"It's barely even warm, Francis!"
"That's properly toasted herring."
"That's not toasted. I could have just sat the plate of herring by the toaster while the other batch toasted to get this warm."
"I can't help that you like your herring burnt. I like mine to still taste like fish, not char." He rolled his eye, getting the plate. "However, thank you for breakfast. Interesting invention. Nice to see it didn't catch fire this time." He took another sip of his coffee.
Kowalski grumbled something incomprehensible under his breath as he stepped over to pour himself another cup of tea. "You're welcome for your lightly warmed herring, Francis."
Blowhole glanced over at him. "Hope you enjoy your dry, flavorless herring crisp, Mittens." He swallowed one of herring. "Because my herring is fantastic."

Not sure I did this right, but here we go. I saw your book rec game and I'm always down for more recs. I love enemies to love, redemption arcs, morally grey characters and am a sucker for a good slowburn. Fave ships: Kaz/Inej, Nesta/Cassian, Will/Elizabeth, Roy/Riza, Tella/Legend, Lorcan/Elide, Jane/Bingley. I'm in my early 20s, a libra, and gravitate towards fantasy thriller/suspense. Any recs? I'll take any and all
@emenem17
Ok you made this really easy because if I’m being completely honest, those tropes are all I read haha. So my top five recs for you, because you haven’t mentioned them so I’m assuming you haven’t read them yet, are:
The Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden, which is based on Russian mythology, and features a suspenseful enemies to lovers slow burn between a powerful young woman on a mission to save her homeland and her demon adversary ; )
The Witchlands Series by Susan Dennard features TWO enemies to lovers pairs, an innovative and original concept of magic, morally grey characters, and a complicated, fantastical adventure centered around ending an inevitable war before it begins. And since you mentioned Elide and Lorcan, I have to mention that there are parts in this series where our favorite enemies-to-lovers pair reluctantly embarks on a long trip through wilderness together ; )
The Serpent and Dove Series by Shelby Mahurin is a playfully written story featuring a very natural enemies to lovers romance between a sassy, hot headed, witch on the run from her coven and a level headed, rational, and sometimes all too moral, witch hunter.
The Folk of the Air Trilogy by Holly Black is probably the first series that comes to mind when I think of good enemies to lovers slowburns. Faeries, riddles, mysteries, strategizing, adventure, sword fighting, drunk pretty bois, murder, coups, fairy feuds... what more can I say? It’s not quite as... mature of a series if I’m being honest, but in the sense that it’s really straight forward and the writing is easy to read, not that... mature things don’t happen, if you catch my meaning, or that there aren’t a thousand plot twists and a thousand more puzzle pieces to the story that Holly Black puts together seamlessly by the end.
And if you’re into dark stuff and also have infinite patience, I recommend the Something Dark and Holy Trilogy by Emily A Duncan. I loved it because it features a tall, dark and handsome villain you can’t help but love, and a painfully slow-burning enemies-to-lovers romance between said villain and a powerful young woman bent on bringing down the enemy kingdom. However, this series is not for everyone as it is not exactly plot heavy for a good bit of the books. Duncan spends a lot of time developing the characters, politics, and magic concepts. Personally, I liked those slower parts because they allowed me to enjoy the characters’ banter and budding relationships, so I’d say give it a try!
Also, go read my review of the House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas from her new Crescent City series. It is primarily a mystery set in an urban fantasy world that happens to feature an enemies to lovers slow burn, and is also very mature in both the writing and topics tackled in the story. My review goes into more detail though, so give it a read for more info.
I hope you enjoys these series if you haven’t already! If you want more information on any of them, Goodreads has great descriptions and plenty of reviews to help you make up your mind. Let me know how it goes!
And as always, happy reading, love! ❤️ 📚 💖

I've finally caught up with WandaVision and TFATWS and I need to talk about it. I think you may have written something about it before but I can't find it now and I'm curious for your thoughts. I personally loved WV and was a bit disappointed by TFATWS which was surprising because I didn't even like Wanda in the movies and didn't care about the romance with Vision - and now I love them both and would have loved to watch another 9 eps of just Wanda's broadcast. And Elizabeth Olsen is just so pretty:) oh, and I think I'm also lowkey shipping her with Monica now. Agnes being this superwitch was the only thing that felt a bit out of the blue.
As for TFATWS I was hoping for a buddy cop comedy and the dark gritty action movie that it turned out to be is not really my thing. And there were too many people there that I don't care about taking up screen time. My favorite parts were Sam and Bucky repairing the boat and having a heart to heart and then the celebration at the docks at the end. Wish there were more quiet moments like these.
So yeah, what did you think?
Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a nice ask! People don’t come and talk at me much about MCU - but I’m so glad when they do!
I really enjoyed WandaVision! I grew up with a lot of that old television - so the nods to that felt really inspired and fun.  And it was neat to see the MCU momentarily step away from what can be a tired structure.  I think both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany did a lot to really make their characters shine -- especially being so underdeveloped in the movies.
It’s funny that Agnes felt out of the blue for you since, maybe being around comic culture a little more, I totally figured this was going to be a thing, so it didn’t feel out of nowhere to me, lol.  :)
I do agree that TFATWS was a little more hit and miss.  I was kind of hoping for a little more of that antagonistic vibe to work through regarding Sam and Bucky - but they had such a big plot to get through, that they couldn’t do much of it.  I agree, though, that a lot of the smaller moments are what really worked.  I do feel, overall, that this kind of felt like a stepping stone to get both Sam and Bucky to where they needed to be to go on to do more movies -- as well as address the idea of a black man taking on Captain America.  I think the last one was done well, and was one of the better aspects of this particular show.  I kind of wonder if they needed another episode or two to really flesh out a few things -- such as the actual villain.  I can’t say that I fully followed what was going on there.
Have you been watching the other MCU shows?
Loki was excellent - and I’m so intrigued by where they go next with the stories across the board.  It’s was such a captivating show, and I’m excited to see more of it eventually, as well as seeing the repercussions of the multiverse.
I have some mixed feelings about the What If...?  I mean - it’s staying true to the comics it derives from.  What If comics were maybe a little bit lower in quality, and always had a sour ending because, hey, the main universe is really the one you should be rooting for.  Don’t get me wrong - the animation quality is fantastic, and the stories are well done.  Just.. .it’s depressing more often than not.  With the exception of the first one -- all the universes are so bleak.  They could really use a few episodes that aren’t so dark.
(Also, I’m side eye-ing the whole ‘Tony dies in every universe’ thing -- though it seems really purposeful at this point.)
And, the trailer for the Hawkeye show just dropped.  And it’s looking really good!
It’s interesting how this post-Endgame landscape is really trying to move newer characters into position to take over what’s left of the original Avengers crew, and move the whole universe forward into something new.  It’s pretty cool in a lot of ways (even if I’ll always miss the old favorites).

inb4 everyone loses their mind about how great BakuDeku is, I'm just trying to make a point. It's a debate, not an argument. That's just my rebuttal. (8/6 wow this got long)
Ah, man, I’m going to have to show all of your messages together because your response was awesome. The thing is, you do have many valid points, and I completely see where you’re coming from and why your point of view on this definitely needs to be heard.
I hope you don’t mind. I want to respond to you with you knowing that I read every piece of your response and I want to give you the time you’re giving me.
Same anon. Comparing a ship where Deku is told to kill himself and he suffers from depression from everything Baku put him through to “it’s like getting mad at someone for picking green as their favorite color” is a pretty bad comparison honestly. If you romanticize the behavior it leads to people thinking that it’s okay when it clearly isn’t. (1/6)
I agree, that this is a comparably weak analogy. However, I do not intend to romanticize anything when it comes to this ship. These ideas that I’m talking about may sound romanticized, but in execution it would be far harder and more difficult than it seems.
Also, I would never, EVER, expect the rules of a ship that I like and find interesting in an anime to reflect a real-life relationship or what I would want from a real-life relationship. Maybe this a little confusing, but when it comes to characters and their relationships, I usually never associate them with what I would want in real life.
Hence, this is why I enjoy writing about it so much, because of how relatively ridiculous and unrealistic it is (and I know that I mentioned the “realism” point on my post and your counter to that, which I’ll expand on).
Anyway. I agree that romanticizing this behavior is awful, and it shouldn’t be glorified. I don’t think Bakugou should be romanticized as a character at all. I’ve mentioned several times that he’s an asshole and should be held accountable, and in no way would I ever expect this ship to work in canon.
Basically, despite what I love about the ship, I’m completely aware of how horrible the idea of the bully/victim dynamic is reflected in real life, and how circumstances aren’t meant to be built and executed in this way outside of the realm of literature and other artistic mediums.
I understand that you base the attraction of the ship off of healing, forgiveness, growth, etcetera. However, that’s implying that Deku (and others like him who have been in the same situation) would even do any of that. Like he would actually have some kind of mutual love with the same guy who made him fucking hate himself. It literally makes no sense whatsoever considering if you’ve actually talked to anyone who has been bullied, they don’t typically go from “this guy is an asshole”… (2/6)
Hm, you have a point here. I agree with your first statement, but I also want to touch on the “actually have some kind of mutual love with the same guy,” tidbit. I want to clarify that I do think, even with these elements in mind, that Izuku and Katsuki, IF this was based canonically, would have to rebuild some semblance of friendship over years of reconciliation.
Also… I’m not sure, if Katsuki is actually the main cause of Izuku “hating” himself? I can’t defend anything for Izuku’s complete lack of confidence in the very beginning and the obvious effects that Katsuki’s bullying has had on him. And I don’t plan to, because I think you have a very good point here.
Also, Anon… I have been bullied.
I was bullied verbally and physically through elementary, middle and high school. My family dynamic has led to me being bullied and cornered in my own home. My only two romantic relationships stemmed from mental and sexual manipulation and abuse from people I once considered my best friends, and even though I forgave both of these people, I would never turn back and accept them in my heart again.
I’ve faced repercussions from every experience, and still do.
I understand how dreadful and deplorable bullying is, and how it affects victims and the people around them and dear to them. In no way do I want to ever come off as a person who romanticizes bullying or even promotes something similar to that.
But again, this ship is not based off of an idea that I would ever want in my life or want anyone I care about to experience. It’s an idea that I enjoy reading and thinking about in a work of total fiction, with aspects of it that I enjoy and relate to, while also understanding that my life and the works I enjoy are separate.
You can take that as you will.
This may seem backwards, but it’s how I feel.
(Also, Anon, I don’t see parts 3 or 5…? If you want this included on here, send them to me or let me know. I could be missing some of your response…)
Has anyone else who has been bullied relentlessly who is reading this felt that way /ever/? I seriously doubt it. Not only does it not make sense, but it insults the trope as a whole. You continue to make general contrasts and parallels to Katsuki and Izuku which is nice and all. That’s great. In fact, that’s fantastic for a platonic respect that would somehow grow from whatever bitterness they had before. (4/6)
Ah, this is kind of going off my last response.
I agree that it works mostly in a platonic respect, because mostly of what I love about these two characters and their parallels is their entire dynamic as a whole, both in a romantic and non-romantic context.
I was focusing on the romantic since that was the subject of the anonymous message you sent me, but there is no doubt in my mind that in the canon universe and even in general, these two work marvelously in the platonic respect.
That’s part of why I love the challenging (and seemingly impossible) idea of carving a romantic image out of it. Is it necessary to enjoy the dynamic? No. Absolutely not. I think your points on this make a ton of sense.
And no, as someone who’s been bullied for the vast majority of my life, I’ve never felt this way. Ever. I agree with you on that.
Again, that’s part of the challenge in writing about it, not exercising the practice in real life. I do think the ship is toxic and has a ton of issues, and I’ve mentioned that before–in fact, a lot of the reasons why I mention those to begin with, is based on making readers understand that what happens in this ship shouldn’t be celebrated as an embodiment of perfection or a work of fiction.
But, I see the problematic viewpoints in my arguments, as well. Some of these will lead to us having to agree to disagree, but I really love this rebuttal.
You can forgive someone but that doesn’t mean things are better. That doesn’t mean Deku is fine, it just means he’s let those actions go and he won’t let them haunt him anymore. But forgiveness isn’t an open door for romance. If someone has broken your best friend’s heart and you forgave them for that, it doesn’t erase the memories of you watching them cry or trying to console them because of what their ex did. (6/6 but I still have more to type and this inbox sucks
Everything you’ve said here, is completely, 100%, TRUE.
I absolutely agree on all of the points you’ve made in this specific section. Especially on the nature of forgiveness and how you’ve expanded on this from a previous section you wrote.
I also agree that forgiveness is not an open door for romance… but it can be.
Now, I’m not speaking from personal experience, and I’m not speaking for the experience of anyone else, but that sentence alone is not universally true. It’s a rather bold statement to make, and it would be impossible to assume that every person who forgives someone would shut the door for romance.
The circumstances are different with everyone, but it IS TOXIC for a person to immediately forgive, forget, and leap into a romantic situation with no rebuilding or actual time taking place. It’s a complicated subject that you’ve introduced well, and again, I think you’re correct.
Is it true for BakuDeku, though? Yeah, I think in terms of canon, you’re correct.
But this, again, is why I think it’s challenging. Also, while mentioning this, I do not think that people should feel obligated to open their options for romance upon the nature of forgiveness. Ever.
Again, what I find intriguing in a ship between fictional characters does not reflect what I would want to see from real people, especially those near and dear to me.
Your examples are very relatable too, and help bolster your argument well.
To clear one thing up, I’m one of few people who ship BakuDeku who completely understands why people hate the ship… for literally almost everything you’ve said so far. I know that this exists, and that your logical viewing behind it is completely valid and makes absolute sense.
The ship is ludicrous, and the elements that I find fascinating between the characters is why I want to write about them.
Also, yeah, the inbox system sucks on here. I’m sorry about that, but I appreciate you breaking up your responses!
If your father used to tell you to kill yourself and treat you the same way Baku did to Deku, you can forgive him but that doesn’t erase whatever Deku has gone through. Forgiveness isn’t a plot device to spur your ship. It’s far more complicated than that. And last but not least, you can challenge yourself with writing without having them fall in love after all the horrible shit Baku has done to Deku. BakuDeku is in no way realism. (7/6)
Again, I agree with you, especially on the first sentence.
I do find it… kind of unbecoming, to claim that I’m using forgiveness as a plot device to spur the ship. I suppose that it can be considered that, but I don’t take the subject of forgiveness lightly at all–I know that it’s one of the hardest, if not the hardest thing, you can do individually for both yourself and the person involved.
I’ve had to forgive quite a lot of people to give myself peace, and that has taken years at a time for some, and months for others. I’m fully aware how complex and emotionally rendering forgiveness is, and what it takes to follow through with it.
I also completely agree with writing about them challengingly and not having them fall in love. I think that’s what’s going to happen with the canon material, honestly. At least, I’m hoping for it, that they can overcome these hurdles and at least mutually respect each other as people.
Now, the romantic context? That’s purely for out of canon and not at all based on strict material or realistic representation within the manga or from personal experiences.
“BakuDeku is in no way realism.”
Hm. You may have a point here. I can see how my statement earlier on BakuDeku being a reflection of realism is flawed, and with the examples you presented I’ll respect that. I’m aware that it’s in a context of fictional characters with overly dramatic and exaggerated circumstances and personalities, and I do think there are realistic elements that can be taken with a ship based in an anime.
But I agree that outright claiming it to be based on a foundation of realism on top of everything else is a stretch, considering the argument you’ve presented.
inb4 everyone loses their mind about how great BakuDeku is, I’m just trying to make a point. It’s a debate, not an argument. That’s just my rebuttal. (8/6 wow this got long)
Anon, I think it’s actually really incredible that you bothered to present a well-thought-out, well-presented, and very cordially presented rebuttal to my response to your original message.
I’m grateful that you contributed to this as a discussion, and I love the points you made. I also don’t want you to think that I do support some of these elements that is mentioned above, and that my intention is in no way to romanticize the ship for what it is.
I also know you’re not trying to start an argument. I love what you’ve had to say, and I really appreciate it. I appreciate the respect and clear attention you’ve put into the post I made and your response, and I hope that my response isn’t angering you or upsetting you.
And if you didn’t want me to do this, please message me and I’ll gladly take it down
Thank you for this response.

Someone asked you for male pov pining fic recs and I devoured five of the six longfic (I'd already read tlatb) for fandoms I'm in (I'm not into captain swan and am unfamiliar with broadchurch). Do you have any more fic recs in general?
THAT I DO like a million years later but hey more fic recs :D
Sugar, Let Me Be Your Passenger— i don’t know this ship and i don’t know this fandom but can i just say that this smut is phenominal. like, Goals, right there. [incomplete, bellarke, the 100]
oh, the things i do for you (the bubbler remix) — i will never not be sobbing over nino and his nerd friends, tbh. just the damn near funnest set of shenaniganry i’ve ever read, will rec in heaven and hell. [complete, djwifi/adrinette, miraculous ladybug]
Sorrowful and Immaculate Hearts— a DC ‘verse collection of fics that makes me die on the inside every time i go through it. in a really good way. it’s loving and respectful and absolutely silly and i a d o r e it. [varies, assorted canon ships, DC]
Looking Glass— WORLDBUILDING, HOLY W O R L D B U I L D I N G. another 'don’t know the ship don’t know the fandom’ one, but the writing? holy fucking s h i t. i sort of know that DA never delved too deep into the ancient world, but you’d never know it if this was your only contact with the fandom. this is absurd level of ‘goals’ tbh. [varies, lavellan/solas mainly, dragon age inquisition]
Off the Line — virtual reality gaming au to end all virtual reality gaming aus tbh. also i just found out that it updated; please excuse me while i scream. [incomplete, mostly gen with a side of cloud/vincent, final fantasy vii]
The Book Of Ruth — yo this is just fantastic? like i have no other descriptors, it handles everything so well from the unexpected time travel to the developing romance to the characterization? i love it to b i t s. [complete, scott/lydia/allison, teen wolf]
Two Daves, No Waiting — That One Selfcest Threesome Fic That Corrupted Me. i die every time dude, i die every time. [complete, dave/john/dave, homestuck]
Well, excuse me, princess!— I DIE EVERY TIME. please don’t read this while eating or drinking; you will laugh and you will choke and you will either make a mess or die. [complete, chlonath, miraculous ladybug]
Let's Remix This Business — just??? pure??? cuteness??? and shenanigans and happy feels and for sure listen to avril’s bubblepop phase while reading for full effect. [complete, olicity, arrow]
Warmage — ....i may have a very specific kink for fics like this; either time travel or for-want-of-a-nail aus where people set up and deal with the problems they’re given — with a heavy side of character development and worldbuilding and a distinct lack of fluff :’D this one is an amazing example of that, and i love it. [complete, fenhawke, dragon age 2]
Dishonorable Discharge — i laugh and i die my dude, i laugh and i die. straight silliness as cloud tries (and fails) to get fired from shinra. another ‘don’t eat or drink while reading this fic’ warning. [complete, gen, final fantasy vii]
Stormborn — KICKS DOWN THE DOOR TO REC STORMBORN AGAIN. I LOVE IT TO DEATH. KTHXBYE. [complete, sasunaru, naruto]
Safety in Silence — tears? tears. the fluffiest angst i ever did read in the form of soulmate au pining. j’adoreeee. [complete, sterek, teen wolf]
Battlefield Terra — and again i rec The All-Time Fav. johnkat mech au with shenanigans and worldbuilding and blessed POLITICS. AND TELEPATHY. I’M A LOV E. [incomplete, johnkat, homestuck]
Kalendae. — rose is the tardis’ piloting system. nobody cries in the fic but i cry a  l o t. warning: will crush your soul in the best way. [complete, rose/doctor, doctor who]
those were the ones that jumped out at me as i went back through my bookmarks, but i rec most of the stuff on it, so i’ll link it too [x]
hope you enjoy!

Hi...I just saw the last ep and I... really don't feel fine. :((( Once again no Fitzsimmons... x( How the hell did we end up there? with this insignificant on-screen time. I want season 1 Fitzsimmons' screentime back, 10min of them by episode talking, doing science, bickering even being happy for a change. I'm down with the dark tone, dark theme, dark whatever... dark is definitely not better!!They are the "jewel" of this show since the beginning (1)
and I really don’t understand the idea of diminishing “them” even more every freaking season. It’s worse than season 2 how the hell did it happen? I don’t want to wait 15ep every year to get something “good”, when did this become the norm and a good idea!?!? It’s bad and terrible writing. :/ And I don’t care about them having individual stories for a long time now, we already saw that and it was not the time to do that anyway.
And the frustration was on when they would get their shit together and be together. They have passed that point now, so this artificial frustration they create makes no sense and they make it last. They work together for over a decade and they know each other by heart, their qualities, their flaws and even probably every mood, every breath almost everything of each other and now just like by “magic” their work is a problem in their relationship, it’s total non-sense
And I’m down rationalizing it to make it works, it just legitimates the writers’ choices and it is plenty wrong, they need to know that it’s all crap, and that some people are angry and sad and etc. Jemma’s statement on the lack of Fitz felt like a finger from the writers, and I don’t even want to talk about the generalization on men that I’ve read… :(I don’t want fiction to be “life-like”, life is an ice cold shitty desert, fiction is my escape plan, and Fitzsimmons are better and deserve better than that. They are my hope and light and I don’t want their relationship to be off-screen, there is no point in that.I feel so empty and sad and desperate… and I’m actually crying writing this message, and this is so completely the opposite of what I had expected to feel for when they got together… :’(( And worse than that I feel like I betray/failed the show, failed THEM by not loving the show anymore.:’(
I know people will think I’m ridiculous and maybe I’m a terrible person but it’s what I feel… I’ll let them mid-season to get better but if not it fucking breaks my heart but I’ll be done with it, they manage to destroy my pleasure, my cheerfulness to watch the show, I didn’t think it was possible… :’( I’m so sorry to inflict you that, you are an amazing kind person and member of the fandom but I needed to tell someone that
I’m down rationalizing writers choices, it just legitimates them… I know it’s not a question and it’s probably my “last ask” because I don’t see any light coming, you can call it a rant, a painful comment, a cry for help, a farewell… and you can published it or not, it’s really not that important. :) But thank you very much for all your time, explanation and kindness. :) Once again I’m really sorry…
Hi Anon!
I am sorry to hear how frustrated you are. And I want to sincerely apologize if my metas are contributing to this.  By nature I am what my family calls a ‘fixer’ and I try to make everyone happy and put a positive spin on things.
EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinion and feelings on things.  You have every right to feel upset, betrayed, and frustrated right now.  We were downright misled by Jed.  I know I do.  I waited a LONG time for Fitzsimmons to be canon, I couldn’t wait to see what that would look like, and needless to say what we’ve seen hasn’t been what anyone expected.
This is my escape too, you all have no idea how much being on here, answering asks, chatting, and doing metas has helped me these last few months of recovery.  And its hard when that escape causes stress or isn’t an escape anymore.
As hard as it is not to get the shippy moments I was hoping for I really did enjoy the last episode.  Jemma had an awesome episode.  Fitz had an awesome episode.   And I want to support them as individual characters as them as a couple  Because, yes, Lil and Iain are the heart of the show.  Fitz and Simmons are the heart of the team..  I think Iain  especially has a very strong arc coming with LMD and the Radcliffe fall out.  I personally (my opinion) would rather see them dealing with angst on individual arcs rather  and real couple issues than a ton of angst in their relationship in order to give them more screen time.  Because AOS is not a romance driven show, is a very small component of everything else going on.  We see little from most couples after they get together.  We’ve gotten more Fitzsimmons shippy stuff after they got together than StaticQuake did, and that ship had one of the shows main characters in it.
That is not to say this is all okay.  Relationship frustration being part of the story or no, the writers could “throw us a bone” at some point, take 2 seconds to assure the fandom and give us something to buoy us until the next time they can be together.  We got a fantastic one in 07, despite them hardly seeing each other.  For me 07 was a very strong episode in terms of FItzsimmons as we got validations from EVERYONE else at how much they meant to each other.  .
I did THIS post yesterday that gave me a lot of peace of mind.  That while months have passed for us, in terms of the characters less than a week has gone by.  Fitzsimmons have barely had time to sleep, let alone sit down and talk about the love nest and hurt feelings from having to hide AIDA.
The other thing I know is at this point in the season
Sunshine and rainbows now = Pain coming
Pain now = Sunshine and rainbows around the finale
I look at where we were this time in B.  I did a lot of asks then.  A lot of people where we are now.  Mad, frustrated, and feeling hopeless that we’d get Fitzsimmons together.  We didn’t get the aftermath of Maveth I’d envisioned, no good conversations or discussions of feelings.  There they hardly had screen time as they set up Huntingbirds departure.  Heck  I am sure some on here were ready just to deck me when I kept saying be patient, it will happen.  And the BIG difference we had in B vs now is we don’t have that carrot.  In B we had the undercover pic that told us something good was coming.  Because it came back later we had the cast doing cons and we got talk of kisses (present and plural) to help us too.
So I’m going to say now what I did then.   Hang in there good things will come.  Pain and suffering now means that something good will be coming.  I can’t say when this time, but something good is coming.  They are aware of how important this ship is to the show.  They are on social media they see/get the tweets demanding more.  They know what spoilers are being shared and asked at the entertainment sites.  And I know some from the show pop onto Tumblr.  They set up the ‘separation frustration’ for a reason.  And like Space BF was one contrived roadblock too far they are getting to the point where the the separation frustration has reached a breaking point too.
We get them at the very least in the same room next week.  We see them in the lab with Talbot.  Don’t get hopes up too high, but they MIGHT be at the base ‘alone’.  And just because they get a scene together it doesn’t mean its going to be a super happy one.  They still have issues to work out surrounding AIDA.  But at least one of them isn’t lost in the woods with Mace, Mack, and Coulson. May and Daisy were on the Quin Jet.  Daisy, Coulson, Mack, and I expect Mace are at that speech  That’s not to say one or both don’t have to head out later but they will at least get some time together.
This season feels like its been going for a long time and it has.  I personally feel this is contributing to the frustration factor.  All the breaks thanks to the election and holiday and we only have 9 eps in the books, that leaves 13 episodes to go.  Plenty of time for Fitzsimmons stuff.  This point last season we had just hit Closure…and look how far we came after Closure.  Every season has had at least one really good, solid, Fitzsimmons episode.  Season 1 FZZT (6), Season 2 Afterlife (16), and Season 3 The Singularity (18) are a few examples.  All came at different points in the season….though the last two were more in the back half.
I hope everyone knows my opinion and takes on this are my own.  I put out metas, theories, answer asks and hope they help others.   But I don’t expect anyone to feel the same way I do about story lines. Just because I enjoy one doesn’t mean you have to too.  Just as just because I have gotten to a okay place with the separation/frustration doesn’t mean you still can’t be upset with it.  Everyone enjoys and watches for different reasons.  I completely adore Fitzsimmons as a couple and want to see more of it but I am also enjoying them having their own story lines and am excited to see the Fitz/Radcliffe one play out.
I don’t know if my rambling helps at all but you do what you need to do to take care of yourself and I don’t know who you are but you are a valued member of the fandom and would hate to lose you.

Hey! Saw your rec game post and I'm always looking for recs (even before i finish my tbr ahaha). Anyway, here goes: I'm 20, sagittarius and I usually prefer light hearted romcoms (ya or adult), but I'm down to clown with short adventures/fantasies/thrillers that have happy endings. My favorite ships are Percy/Annabeth, Will/Tessa/Jem, Alec/Magnus, Feyre/Rhys, Elide/Lorcan. Any and all recs are welcome! Thank you :))
Hey there! I think I have just the recs (and author) for you! If you like light hearted rom coms, fantasy, and a slight thriller, I recommend:
Margaret Rogerson’s A Sorcery of Thorns. It’s really light hearted, the banter is always witty, the characters are all very well developed, the magic is inventive, it has a thriller/mystery aspect as well as a girl sword fighting demons in the street on top of a carriage. The enemies to lovers trope is there, but it’s less of a mortal-enemies-to-lovers and more of a girl-dislikes-then-falls-in-love-with-guy-because-he’s-dark-and-mysterious. The love story is really sweet and develops very naturally and quickly. The synopsis: Elisabeth, an apprentice at a library, has grown up among the tools of sorcery—magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains. But when an act of sabotage releases the library’s most dangerous grimoire, Elisabeth’s intervention implicates her in the crime, and she is torn from her home to face justice in the capital. With no one to turn to but her sworn enemy, the sorcerer Nathaniel Thorn, she finds herself entangled in a centuries-old conspiracy. (Very happy ending : )
An Enchantment of Ravens, also by Margaret Rogerson, probably the very first book that comes to mind when you say light hearted rom com. It is another fantasy with a focus on romance. The world Rogerson builds is vibrant and original, and the characters are all magical in their own ways, all guided by love for one another. I wouldn’t say the bulk of the novel is plot heavy, but if you’re looking for a quick read that is as tooth-rottingly sweet and belly-achingly funny as it is original, this is the fantasy romance for you. The synopsis: Isobel, an artist and portrait painter, creates stunning portraits for a dangerous set of clients: the fair folk, who trade valuable enchantments for Isobel’s paintings. But when she receives her first royal patron—Rook, the autumn prince—Isobel makes a deadly mistake. She paints mortal sorrow in his eyes, a weakness that could cost him his throne and his life. Furious, Rook spirits Isobel away to his kingdom to stand trial for her crime. But something is seriously amiss in his world, and as they travel along together, hilarious hijinks ensues (extremely happy ending : )
Something a little more plot heavy that I would also recommend to you is the Serpent and Dove series by Shelby Mahurin. It’s light hearted and all the characters are incredibly humorous - the witty banter is basically part of the plot - but it is also a very natural enemies to lovers romance between a young thieving witch on the run from her coven and a stubborn witch hunter raised by the church, who are forced into holy matrimony. The plot twists and turns are through the roof as hilarious hijinx ensues throughout the whole first novel. (The second novel is coming this September!)
Another sweet, adventurous, hilarious, honest, magical series I can recommend to you is the Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. It’s all bout five friends who set out on an adventure to find magical ley lines in idyllic small town Virginia. The characters are all unique, each with their own backgrounds and struggles, but together they are my favorite group of idiots. The series had me laughing wildly just as it had me mesmerized entirely, both by Stiefvater’s magical writing and the magical events, settings, and characters. The romance is not a dominant plot piece, but it is definitely present and oh so sweet. Read my review of the series for more info!
Next up: The Folk of the Air series by Holly Black. It features faeries, riddles, mysteries, strategizing, steamy romances, hilarity, adventure, sword fighting, drunk pretty bois, murder, coups, fairy feuds... what more can I say? There are a thousand plot twists and a thousand more puzzle pieces to the series that Holly Black puts together seamlessly by the end. The world is vibrant and magical, unlike any other I’ve ever read about, and the main characters are hilariously oblivious to one another’s feeings for one another. It is light hearted, but also really plot heavy, and honestly it may just be my favorite fantasy series of all time.
House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig is the definition of a fantastical, magical, dark but beautiful Thriller. Her writing is absolutely poetic, but not annoyingly so. The romance is between a dark and mysterious stranger and an intelligent young woman. The story is loosely based on the twelve dancing princesses. Here’s my summary: A young woman’s mother and four sisters have all died. But death after death invites rumors of curses, and Annaleigh has begun to believe they may be true when another sister dies by the cliffs. Attempting to mourn them all and investigate what truly happened to the sister that died last, all while pushsing away her growing feeing that the supernatural may be involved, leads Annaleigh down a strange, tragic and mind altering path. No one knows what’s really true and what’s an illusion, including the reader, and the way the story is spun makes the delusion of it all a tangible thing. The romance itself is really cute and light hearted, but the story itself is, to say the least, quite the opposite. But not to worry, the ending is butterflies-in-your-belly happy!
I hope you enjoy these series if you haven’t already, and that you now have an even longer tbr list 😈
Happy reading, love!!! ❤️📖❤️
