I’ll be changing my AO3 author name and Tumblr username.

This one has been sort of a long-time coming. I’ve thought of a few names, but nothing has stuck as of yet. When that comes, I’ll announce what my new username will be on Tumblr, so that anyone who follows me knows that the name will change 24 hours after that.

The first new fanfic I will publish under this new name and phase will be a BakuDeku story.

The first chapter will be posted in September. I’ll be doing a week of announcements and plenty of teasers all throughout August regarding the summary, plot, etc. The outline is near-complete, and the story itself will end up around 20 chapters.

There will be an established publishing schedule to stay consistent.

I haven’t decided yet if it will be a one week or two week turnaround. It all depends on my work schedule, my personal life, and my original writing projects. I’ll have a better idea when the time comes.

Yes, there will be one fic I work on at a time. This will prevent the issue of impulsively publishing fics that I love that get a lot of attention, but end up never finishing.

I will only be working on one fic at a time.

This is part of me learning how to handle my mental illness more responsibly so I can better respect your expectations as a reader. I hope you can understand.

So when that new fic is published in September, I will focus solely on that until it’s completed.

I may start a Patreon account.

BUT ONLY IF... readers (both old and new) are interested in this.

This is by absolutely no means a requirement. This is only if people are interested in a concept like a private Discord server (to ask questions about fics, chat, share ideas, etc.), a view into chapters a week before they publish (depending on the schedule), or anything else that may come as exclusive.

I’m not even sure if I’ll do this, yet. Was just an idea that might be fun if readers want to feel a part of a community. We will see.

Let me know if this is of interest. If not, I’ll sweep it under the rug and never bring it up again.

I’ll be way more active on Tumblr to answer questions, talk to new readers, engage with communities I’ve left for a long time, etc.

I’m still very much a fandom loner, but I want to be more open in engaging in conversations if that’s something of interest.

To the readers, writers, and celebrators of storytelling who have not only supported me, but anyone else who has chosen to go through these tough decisions and are deciding to reinvent themselves for a new chapter.

I want to write better for you, and deliver stories that you deserve.

Hey there, friend!

It has been painfully long since we have spoken, but I want you to know that I still think of you often and wonder how the years have treated you and your incredible creativity. I am glad to hear that you are still writing and honing your skills!

I have followed your fan works long enough to have an idea of what an intense perfectionist you are, so this announcement for me does not come as much of a shock. I want to say a huge, "Thank you!!" however, for the ample warning period. I visit Tumblr rarely these days, and I very nearly missed seeing your post entirely. Thankfully, I saw it in time and was able to download everything last night.

Your writing is still very special and nostalgic to me. Even if I do not end up rereading your old fics at this time, I know I would deeply regret it if the ability to revisit them was lost to me forever. I am uncertain if your announcement should be interpreted to mean that you are considering a return to the fandom front, but even if you choose not to return, know that you always have my respect and support for whatever future endeavors you choose to pursue.

As in, almost every single one of my fics across all fandoms will be permanently deleted in one week’s time.

The only fics I’m keeping up on my profile are Wayward Souls (Hunter x Hunter | KilluGon), a drop of rosewater (Hunter x Hunter | KilluGon) Before Midnight (My Hero Academia | BakuDeku), Shadow of the Day (My Hero Academia | BakuDeku), When the Sun Falls (Hunter x Hunter | KilluGon), and the most recently published work Fragile (My Hero Academia | BakuDeku).

This has been a huge burden on my shoulders and this decision in particular has been painful to think about.

The last thing I want to do is cause disappointment, pain, annoyance, hurt, etc. over deleting these stories. If this is the case for you, I’m so, so sorry.

Even then… this is what I need to do. Selfishly.

I’m simply not the same writer anymore.

I can’t write when I’m perpetually unhappy and loathing what I created years ago, in a different space, different mind, and different time.

I’m not happy with the works I’m about to delete. Years have passed, and I have been utterly silent without an update in sight for these fics. I would rather get rid of them than leave false hope in the air.

All that being said…

I want to make it clear that if any of you want to keep these fics around in your lives, I’m giving you until next Sunday (July 25th) to download each fic as a PDF. That way, you’ll have it in your possession for as long as you want after I delete it from my AO3.

The audacity and entitlement of some people to demand and acquire free entertainment from professional writers and pirating their books instead of paying them for hours and hours and HOURS of writing, editing, deleting, rewriting, and so forth is absolutely shameful.

If you feel entitled to someone’s art (from a creator who is explicitly selling their work and not offering it for free) and that they shouldn’t make money from their blood, sweat, and tears... shame on you.

The backlash @teashoesandhair has likely received from this is outlandish and awful.

Few things make me angrier than this.

OK I’m logging off once more until people stop defending book piracy in my mentions and inbox because it’s 4572495824 degrees celsius today and I need to expend that energy on sweating

I'm actually keeping Before Midnight. I decided to keep some of my completed fics (which were only two multichapter ones, and a few oneshots), so that one will actually still be up there.

I thought that, keeping my personal feelings for it aside, it would be silly to remove a fic that still accomplished many milestones and is easily the most widely-read work I've ever published. I think taking that one down would lead to riots.

Thank you for your unbelievably kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying it enough to even reread it. That blows my mind.

I agree with shawn! I don't know you personally, but I know that the decision you made had to be an extremely tough one. I'll be sad to part with the mentioned fics, but the fact that you gave me (and other readers as well) to STILL save them as pdfs, regardless of your feelings about them, is just. so kind of you. like genuinely thank you. I can't wait to see where you'll take this new slate :)

Hey dear! You’re going to have no idea who this is. It is most DEFINITELY not Shawn.

Just want to say that I just caught up on your asks and finally got a chance to read the post that’s been eating at you a while (not that I would know anything about that), and I just wanted to express bow proud of you I am.

Every single day, you continue to amaze me in how much you grow as a person, and push to achieve your goals. If anyone on this site needs inspiration on how to better themselves, this lovely human right here, and my best friend, is a prime example of who you should look up to. In everything you do, you work so hard to be the best that you can be.

I know making that post wasn’t easy, and with a fic following like yours, it was probably downright terrifying. But you did it anyway, and the fact that you’re even giving people the chance to download them before you do is something that shows just how kind you are. We’re all blessed to have such a talented writer in the HxH and BnHA world. Love ya dear ❤️
