it kills me how Una doesn't really get her 'happily ever after' - all the other rainbow valley crowd, after a childhood seeded in misery and grief from the loss of their mother (and a neglectful father) get their own families and partners from what we know of their stories. Una doesn't, and what makes this particularly tragic for me is that Una imo would be the person who wanted it the most. She wanted to stay in the glen, and of anyone, I feel like she would be the one most interested in having a family. There's not so much as a hint of that for her; in fact, TBAQ confirms that years later, she's still "keeping the faith."

The petitions have gotta stop.
EA literally doesn’t care. Do you know how much pushback and complaints they get about how Sims4 is handled? A lot; nothing has changed and that is one of their biggest titles.
Seriously, I’m no fan of McGee, but let the man mourn in peace. All of this hashtag save alice stuff just feels a little naive and maybe even a bit selfish.
It’s done. It’s over. EA holds the keys and isn’t giving them up. They will not sell, they will not fund. McGee is contracted to not make another Alice inspired project. He’s dead, Jim.
I get it, I’ve been an Alice fan since I was seven, before I even really knew what I was absorbing. She’s the reason I started dying my hair red (she was a redhead in the first game), I’ve gotten so much creative enrgy and inspiration from the game. I’m planning on legally changing my name to Alice some day. I get it. She’ll always have a place in my heart.
Hold EA responsible, send the emails, boycott if you want, but be realistic, and be compassionate to her dev team. McGee’s had enough; don’t beat a dead horse.
I think it would be far more productive to have conversations about creators having to sell the figurative soul of their projects to have a chance at making them, or the predatory behavior of big publishing companies like EA and the negative effects that has on gaming as a creative medium, or even making unions more accessable to protect devs and their teams when publishing companies demand crunch time or full rights to projects.
We can’t save Alice, but having these conversations can maybe save someone else’s project.

The way Kim Dokja tells the world he isn't going to save anyone in his one press release, making himself probably wildly unpopular in the moment.
Then he saves everyone at the cost of himself. And when kimcom leaves to save him, by the time they get back, the public has banded together and built a statue to celebrate his return.
Someone (I would imagine Anna Croft) has turned public opinion in favor of Kim Dokja during those 20 years, to the point they see him as a hero. Honestly, it would also be the truth; Demon King of Salvation really did give salvation for everyone.

Insane and crazy if I keep on thinking Junpei fits the Fire group along with Takuya and Tomoki more than he does when it comes to putting him between the sibilings. When we get a card of the Light group for the next BT in June, I will return here to underline how out of place he looks in there. Izumi would have fit the Light group more, I’ll die on this hill. At least, unlike Junpei, she had interacted with Kouichi once and was a nice interaction despite how short it was.
Whenever I watch the film, I’ll bite my lips looking at Takuya, Tomoki and Junpei creating a group of three, -until the climax part where Junpei joins Izumi-, and it also feels like they actually had other plans lol. Izumi and Kouji being the duo needing their third member, those other three dorks having found home in their silly crew LOL.
I also think the groups would be more balanced in power ngl, without Light being too op and Fire being weak af, but my main problem is that they should have built those teams by making them also meaningful in their composition.
Tomoki stands with Takuya because he’s got a deep bond with him. Kouji and Kouichi are together because they are sibilings. Izumi and Kouji can stand side by side because they have bonded at the beginning of the series and Izumi is fond of Kouji. Junpei can fight behind Takuya and it would be development. Junpei trusting the person he disliked the most with his powers.
Idk robbed. I can’t care less about elements creating connections, if these connections don’t have a spiritual link beneath them. BYE.

For day ten of the @dragonaday-fr challenge! Israphel is my clans' main chef, as well as the dragon that handles all of the preservation and storage of the clans' food. He's also their main doctor, but he's just as happy as them to see very little practice of that particular skill set.

SO.
Asked last Friday night after the horrors to discuss OT compensation with the HR rep last week. I was brave about it - I am on salary and according to the handbook I'm exempt.
But I'm still logged in until my last rep signs off at the end of the night, and I was asked to sign in first thing on Saturdays to verify phone lines are working and all the morning shift is logged on. This takes time. I tell her this. I tell her my schedule.
She agrees. She files to meet on Monday.
I tell her sorry, don't work Mondays. I remind her of my schedule.
She apologizes. Books for Wednesday at 3. Perfect. I agree. Wow, that was easy.
She returns an email Monday for which I don't see until Tuesday. Sorry, 4pm is better.
No, sorry, 4pm is my lunch hour and I work the night shift and will not be willing to move that due to coverage purposes in the evening.
She is out sick on Tuesday.
Okay, she says on Wednesday. Thursday at 10am.
I say no. I remind her of my schedule again, due in fact that I don't come in to work until 11. Because of the night shift.
She says on Wednesday, oh, sorry, please submit a time that will work for the both of us.
I say sure. It takes three seconds. I used the scheduling assistant in Outlook. I see she's pretty tightly booked on Thursday. Let's not jam another thing in there. Let's make it easy again and decompress for Friday.
She agrees. We have finally confirmed a short meeting for Friday at 230. Praise. Took all week. Things are looking up.
Friday is here. I sign in.
She sends me a declined invite and an explanation that she's following up with compensation about my question. Once she gets some clarity she'll send me an invite.

Question: who were the labor camp meant to contain if not just the Wen remnants? Followed by: why does it seem like the Jiang were kept out of the creation and running of the labor camp?
I’m thinking about some old chatter surrounding this that mostly involved who knew about the labor camps and if Wei Wuxian was culpable in their creation, if not the realization that they’d be used to punish those who “didn’t participate in the war,” but idk, it doesn’t seem like Wei Wuxian knew, himself, that the labor camp existed before Wen Qing showed up. (This is all going off the exr translation, of course.) The labor camp doesn’t even feel like a punishment for those who actively participated in the war under the Wen, cause as wwx points out at the Jin banquet he crashes, clans who had actively supported Wen Rouhan and fought under him were being welcomed by the Jin as honored guests under their support. Meanwhile, an infant and an old woman are in the labor camp, obviously incapable of having fought and one probably not even having been born before the war ended. So the labor camp feels like it was overtly created with punishing the Wen clan in mind, not to deal with war criminals or supporters of the deposed Wen Rouhan. Those people quite publicly got off scot-free.
On the other hand, I always found it kinda strange that the running of the labor camp included disciples of multiple different clans, but when Jiang Cheng is called in to answer for wwx killing and injuring said disciples, jc 1) doesn’t know that this happened beforehand and 2) doesn’t seem to have any injured or killed Jiang disciples to hold against wwx. He doesn’t seem surprised that the camp exists at all, but how likely is it that Jiang disciples would be present but uninjured while disciples of the other clans would be targeted? I’d think, personally, that Jiang Cheng would be the first to volunteer disciples to torture and maim Wen, but that seems curiously…absent. (And again, wwx doesn’t seem aware of the camp’s existence at all until told, though he calls the lands the Wen remnants were relegated to “detention camp.”) So what gives?

Working on WereKat AU and giving the villain roles to Marik and Zorc (Yami B). Marik is a King with a superiority complex and Zorc is just an asshole.
I think I need to do their designs next. This should be fun. I already have a few outfit refs that are fashionably King-worthy for Marik. For Zorc, I am going straight-up Zorkura in his aesthetic. Undecided if he'll have the horns and tail, but the stilettos are a must.
