Non-angsty prompt coming up!!
Ineffable Husbands reacting to Trick or Treaters in honor of Halloween! (I feel like maybe trick or treating is bigger in America than England, but just pretend that they get trick or treaters!)
🎃
(I hope you feel better and things get easier! 💙)
That sounds cute!
This is Halloween in the South Downs.
On with the fic!
--
Crowley looked away from the television, where a cheesy vampire movie was playing, when they heard the sound of knocking at the front door. A grin came to them and they extended their fangs in excitement.
Halloween was one of Crowley's favorite times of the year, a night of tricks and pranks, of treats and frights, and a night where a demon could let their hair down in public without judgement! Also, Aziraphale made these really tasty pumpkin scones since the mid-2000s every year and Crowley really liked those.
As they jumped off the couch and made their way to the door, more of their appearance changed. Shoulder-length hair became longer, darker, thicker, almost snake-like in a sense, while scales of black and red peppered their skin like freckles.
Their eyes became fully yellow, the pupils long, thin slits, and their nails became long, sharp claws as they grabbed for something sitting on the side table at the door.
Crowley threw open the door and looked at the children standing there, all dressed up as things Crowley either knew or had no clue because it was something kids liked looking at online. Either way, there was a group, and they were all wanting something.
"Trick or treat!" They shouted, holding out their bags and pails for candies.
"Trick or treat, eh?" Crowley smirked, claws drumming on the large, plastic dish that was black and covered in little images of spiders in oranges and purples. "Which will it be?"
The kids looked a bit confused, before a little girl in a blue dog costume spoke up with glee. "A trick! A trick!"
"Oh? A trick? Are you sure?"
"Yes!" Cried a chorus of excited children.
"Weellll... I suppose one little trick..." They chuckled before opening their mouth wide, fire shooting out from it over their heads for just a moment. Crowley let out a soft cough, then licked their lips.
The kids looked at him in awe, then cheered, though Crowley swore he heard a snap among the shouts of 'do it again'.
"Ah, I said one little trick. That's all you get. Now, do you want some candy or not? Cause we've got full bars!" Crowley said holding out the bowl to the group, who happily snatched up a few bars, then scurried off, thanking 'Ms or Mr Fell-Crowley' as they ran down the dirt path, happily talking about how cool that was and how the Fell-Crowley's always have the best treats.
"Really dear, I know you love entertaining the children, but fire? Nearly burnt my wind chimes!"
Crowley snickered and turned to see Aziraphale, standing at the entrance to the kitchen, his face having a few smears of flour on it.
"The kids love when I do that kinda stuff!" Crowley said as they sat down the bowl, shutting the door with a flick of their wrist. They licked their thumb and used it to quickly wipe off Aziraphale's face when they approached. "How are the baked treats coming along?"
"Almost done, the retirement home is going to love them!" Aziraphale did a wiggle.
"Did you make those one things that Mavis was goin' on about? You did them for a book club a few months ago, right? She was ravin' about them at the knittin' club this week, said you promised."
"I made them, don't worry." There was a knock at the door. Aziraphale chuckled and gently gave Crowley a push towards it. "Go on, I'll finish up here."
"Alright, but when we head out, you need to look a bit more... spooky." Crowley said, heading for the door.
Aziraphale's exposed skin split in places, revealing dozens of eyes, that all rolled at once. "Does this work?"
"Perfect! Should make you hand out the candy if you're gonna do that!" Crowley cackled as they picked up the bowl once more, ready for the next batch of trick or treaters.
--
I'd like to think that Crowley and Aziraphale made friends with a bunch of the old people in the South Down area, just as Crowley would be friends with the kids.

Once again I have opinions on new seasonal anime no one asked for!
Thoughts on the 14 new shows I tried under the cut.
Shows I'm Excited About
My Happy Marriage
It's an arranged marriage romance with magic, though there wasn't any magic overtly present in the first episode. It has these relatively subtle references to fairy tales that I really like and the animation is really gorgeous. Looking forward to this one!
Zom 100
An office worker is so burnt out that the actual zombie apocalypse is a fresh change of pace. The energy is great and the animation is gorgeous. I love zombie media that's aware of zombie media. I also really like the OP, which is the same group that did the OP for Yamada 999 last season.
Shows I'm Optimistic About
Ayaka
This show looks like the anime adaptation is a fantasy BL visual novel but is apparently an original IP. I dunno why the MC's dead dad's will banished him to a childhood of trauma off island only to return when he's just old enough to start dating but I hope it's so he can end up smooching some of these color coded magical boys.
Dark Gathering
It's spooky! I feel sorry for any ghost fighting show that's going up against the second season of Jujustu Kaisen but this one seems way more of a creepy comedy than an action show so hopefully it finds its own niche and excels there.
The Gene of AI
As someone with memory problems this first episode made me super uncomfortable! It's doing what good science fiction should do, which is using future tech to tackle uncomfortable philosophical questions, but it remains to be seen if it addresses them thoughtfully. I will say though that the idea of someone who loves me crying uncontrollably because the fact I forgot a new recipe for scrambled eggs means I'm not really the person she knew really hurt. I have genuine fears about my memory problems ruining relationships and seeing it done so ham-handedly feels bad. Definitely gonna keep watching though because at least it's interesting.
Helck
This is a fantasy anime about a big strong muscle guy who is trying to become the King of Demons. Even the first episode couldn't pull off any visual appeal so I have low expectations but I'd like to have a fun time cheering on our Conan rip off who's going off script by trying to join the side of the demons.
Noble Farmer
This is a series of shorts by and about mangaka Hiromu Arakawa of Fullmetal Alchemist fame. She is the scion of Hokkaido dairy farmers and is passionate about her roots. The first episode felt like it was paid for by a dairy farmers association but Arakawa is so charming I don't even mind.
Undead Murder Farce
This show has great vibes and a fun premise. All the yokai and oni and such are being eradicated as part of the Meiji restoration. A couple of them are trying to survive and also solve a murder of sorts. The vibes are great but the animation is kinda mid.
Shows that Cater to my Bullshit Specifically
The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior
That name is awful but the Otome game villainess reincarnation micro genre is my jam. This villainess cries a lot and I'm hoping for a good time as all the people who were her enemies in the game fall in love with her.
Sweet Reincarnation
I love cooking shows and also fantasy stories so when they get smushed together I'm almost sure to have a good time. This feels like a less clever Ascendence of a Bookworm in a lot of ways. Person is killed by their specific interest falling on them, only to reincarnate into a world where the thing they love is very expensive and out of reach at their current status. So they simply use their knowledge of our technology to reorder society in a way that allows them to feed their special interest. This time it's a pastry chef who loves sweets instead of a librarian who loves books. His new name is Pastry.
Stuff I Tried That Didn't Make the Cut
Am I Actually the Strongest?
His sister is obviously the reincarnated Demon Lord. Looks boring.
The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today
It's like Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid without the charm or the sex appeal, plus the camera work is weirdly unsettling.
Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wander the Dungeon
This one was also boring. It was one of the first shows we tried this season and I've already forgotten it for the most part.
Reign of the Seven Spellblades
Magic school with a 20% death rate, and one of the freshmen this season is a Samurai. I might watch a second episode if I have time to kill but there just wasn't anything really exciting in this first episode to get me past the Harry Potter but Edgier vibes.

The Freedom of Expression Ep 6 - 'Antrum', the most cursed movie in history.
K: Hi this is Dir en grey's Kaoru, and The Freedom of Expression..Joe san, Tasai san..
J: Yep
K: I think the viewers already realise this, but we're shooting four epidodes at once. (note:* the covid episodes were aired at short notice after ep 3*).
J: Yes, four.
T: Our clothes havn't changed.
K: Is our positioning ok like this? Wouldn't it be better with you in the middle, Kaoru?
K: Well, next time we could change seats if we want? But, I havn't seen you two in a long time, I thought it would be better to look at you from over here.
J: Ah, yes. If you are in the middle you have to keep looking from side to side..
K: Yeah, so..we could change seats next time...We might even change our filming location?
J: For sure
K: I don't know though...we can carry on without making too many set plans.
J: I see.
K: He's not coming out today, is he?
J: He's not. Let's leave him alone.
K: Well, shall we get started?... Oh, actually, when we finished recording the last epidode, my boss came here, and said 'that was a lie, thats wrong'.
J: Oh, what was it again? He took offense to something written in a magazine.
T:...and stormed over there.
K: He didn't actually angrily storm over there, he apparently went there, not to tell them to write nice stuff, but to get them to write what his band was really like, and he was fine with it then *1
J: Ahh, to stand out?
K: He was quite agitated. *T laughs*
J: No, but its a bit worrying isn't it? From the listeners point of view, you hear that type of story and interpret it as something amusing, the story gets communicated on in that way.
K: Well, theres no fire without smoke..
J: You mean, theres no smoke without fire.
K: Yeh.. Its because he's just a bit scary *the others laugh*, thats why that type of gossip appears.
J: Of course
K: Right?
T: I see
J: Well, we don't know what he was really like back then...
K: I don't either.
J: But he surely wasn't one of those cuddly, happy people?
K: People in bands were just kinda scary back then, right?
J: They were scary, yeah. But they were also really cool, weren't they?
K: *nods*
J: ..in reality....I think they were.
K: We're (Dir en grey) not scary though, are we?
J, T: Uhh... *K laughs*
J: You are not scary, but...
K: We're not THAT scary right? *laughing*
J: You have an incredible aura..
K: Well, lets leave it..
J: Fow now, lets just say your boss wasn't trying to make excuses..
K: Excuses? *laughs*
J: ..he was just trying to tell us that the stuff we said was not true. Right, well lets introduce today's topic.
' "You watch it, you die", Antrum - The most cursed movie in history.'
'Unbelievablely, its to be released in Japan, this incredible movie is to be screened. Filmed in California, America in 1970, the movie 'Antrum'. Rumored to be excessively scary, and to bring about misfortune to those who watch it, it was said that this movie should not be released, but buried and restricted. However, in 1988, it was screened for the first time in Budapest, Hungary, and during its screening, a fire broke out in the theatre and it burnt to the ground. 56 people died in this incident. Since then, whenever this movie is screened, the people involved have suffered mysterious deaths, one after the other. It became a work of art that no-one wanted to touch. Then, we arrive at the present day. After a long search, documentary movie makers Michael Licini and David Amito discovered the 35mm film reel of 'Antrum'. They have decided to screen it with the warning that viewers must take personal responsibility for anything that happens. The movie will be screened this year in venues across the country from Friday.'
K: Ahh, is it okay?...if this kind of incident occurs?
J: It says, if you watch it you die!
T: Its spooky.
K: Whether it lives up to expectations or not, theres trouble either way.
J,T: Thats right.
J: If people die, they're in trouble, and if people don't die, and they get sued for misrepresentation, they'll be like 'What? Arn't you glad you didn't die?!'
T: I wonder what will happen.
J: They say everyone has to take personal responsibility.
K: Well, I'm slightly interested.
J: Would you go and watch it?
K: Hmm, I want to see it, yeh.
J: You're attracted to it?
K: Um, Horror is...
Kami: Nononono! You must not go to see this, you must not go to see this!
J: Ahh, Kami says you musn't, he's worried suddenly....Its not okay, Kami?
Kami: No no, its not. I was quiet so far because I didn't want to have anything to do with this topic.
J: Oh, with this topic?
Kami: Yeh, its really scary.
J: Is this type of thing not good?
Kami: Its not good. I have to work nights..
J: Ah, night shifts? *the others laugh*
Kami: and I work alone.
J: Yeh.
K: Well, yeh, thats scary.
Kami: They say you'll die, I don't wanna die on my night shift.
J: Yeh, but gods can't die can they?
T: Right.
Kami: Well, outwardly.
J: What does that mean? Outwardly?? *laughing*
Kami: We don't die completely..
J: Oh, but from the human perspective you appear to die?
Kami: Yeah, I appear to die, but then am reborn.  *J, T laugh*
K: He doesn't need to be scared.
T: Pretty interesting.
Kami: No no, the bit where I appear to be dead..its kinda troublsome.
J: Its trouble? You're a bit nervous about that?
Kami: Yeh, im nervous. Its not good.
J: Its not good?
Kami: Yeah, going to see this movie is not good.
J: But, there is a certain attraction by people to these kind of supernatural, occult things isn't there?
K, T: Yeah, yeah.
J: You know, things that science can't prove.
Kami: Yeah, I know about all of it though.
J: You do?
Kami: Yes, I do. Because, god created everything on earth.
T: Well, yeah.
J: I see.
T: So, he shouldn't really be scared of this, should he?
K: Really, that makes this situation here part of the occult too, doesn't it?
J: This is the occult. *T laughs* Us talking to a god..*K laughing*  Talking to a god about movies even!
Kami: Well, there are many types of god aren't there?
J: Ahh, there are many types, yeh.
Kami: Yeh yeh, there are all knowing-all powerful gods...and gods like this one here. *the others laugh*
J: This god isn't very 'all knowing-all powerful'?
Kami: No, im probably in the lower orders.
J: *laughing* Yeh, we know that!
T: He sounds like a salaryman.
J: A hierarchy of gods..
Kami: Well, the middle-lower orders.
J: The middle-lower oders? *laughing*
T: Thats quite low, right? *J laughing*
J: It might just not be limited to recent times, but isn't there quite an occult boom going on now? How do you see it Kaoru?
Kami: An occult boom?
J: An occult boom.
Kami: Well, maybe its because a lot of things have already been solved. As science progresses, we know more...like the Higgs particle, you know it?
J: I've heard the name, but I don't know the details.
Kami: Its kinda like how the source of gravity was discovered. They spin it round really fast and crash it, right?
J: What a simple explanation!
Kami: Its in Switzerland!
T: In Switzerland...
J: They have the equipment to spin it and crash it powerfully, right?
Kami: Yes, yes. Atoms, they crash atoms into one another..and when they crash, the atoms break apart, and various particles have been discovered....and they saw a black hole forming and such. These kinds of mysterious things are really happening. *2.
T: Ehh, Kami, thats impressive.
Kami: So it could be just because of these solved mysteries, peoples' imaginations are swelling and giving them wild ideas?
J: I see.
K: Well, there must be people who like this stuff.
Kami: Wasn't my explanation easy to understand?
J: Yes, it was very well explained.
Kami: Spinning it around and bashing really hard, and then a kind of mysterious feeling...
*everyone laughs*
J: Thst is super easy to understand. Explained in simple terms.
T: Exactly
J: Only by a god..*3
T: Hey Joe, is that okay? *laughs*
J: Kami's awful aspects have transfered to me. *T laughs* The hopless parts. Those parts are showing in me.
Kami: Don't say hopeless!
K *laughs*
J: Oh did you hear that bit?
Kami: I heard it.
J: Of course, Kami hears everything (direct translation: hell ears)
K: This is awful!
Kami: Not hell, heaven.
T: Isn't this fourth time getting tiring?
*laughing*
J: Of course not
T: Actually, ive been to an event before where a spirit appeared.
J: Ehh?
T: When I say spirit, I mean Lincoln. There was a movie about the American president, Lincoln. So I went as a reporter to a weird movie event about it. And there was a medium there who could channel Lincoln so we could ask anything.
J: Wow...so, Lincoln spoke to you in person?
T: The medium started going 'Mmmghh mmmghh' and then 'Ready', so we all thought Lincoln had come to us, and we were told to ask anything, so someone asked 'Mr Lincoln, Mr Lincoln, what did you think of the movie? ..and after about three seconds the medium suddenly dropped down and said, 'Lincoln has left us'.
J: Ehh?! He didn't say anything?!
T: No, Lincoln didn't say anything.
J: Just 'Mmgh, mmgh'?
T: Yeah, and then he fell straight down..and was finished in three seconds. The whole venue had been waiting so eagarly...
J: What kind of article did Tokyo Sports write?
T: About how the venue was....*4
*laughing*
K: That fits well with this show!
J: This kind of chaos. So you were there, Tasai san?
T: Yes, I was reporting on it.
J: Oh really?
T: Yeh, that type of thing happened.
J: I wonder how the medium was after that, after Lincoln left.
T: She's getting paid for nothing.
K: Well, maybe some more accidents happened...
J: Oh yeah, she felt the danger. She didn't research enough before calling him.
T: She should have studied.
J: Maybe she didn't expect that many reporters?
K: Oh, maybe, she thought 'oh no..'
J: Maybe she was shocked to see so many people when she turned up. But the movie company paid her to promote the movie like this right?
T: Yes
J: Ahh, but people will probably go to see this movie right, Kami?
Kami: As for Lincoln coming down, he probably didn't say anything because he planned to speak in English.
J, T: Oh yeah.
K: Maybe
Kami: They forgot how to speak English?
J: I see..he hasn't been called in a long time, so even he forgot how to speak English?
Kami: No no, the medium.
J: Ah, the medium? Ah, I see.
Kami: Even I forget what to say sometimes, as soon as I think about it, and when im listening, you're like 'oh he's gone'
J: Isn't that dementia? Kami, can you speak to dead people like a medium can, can gods do it?
Kami: Gods? There are gods who can do that.
K: But you can't.
J: But you can't?
Kami: No, I can't do anything *J laughs*
J: We can only pray to you?
Kami: Yes, only pray.
J: I reckon I could be a god then too.
K: Yeh, yeh.
J: Its pretty interesting, no matter what your capacity, you could be a god, right? *laughing*
Kami: No, being a god is not about your capacity...
J: Oh, its not, im wrong?
Kami: Are you making fun of me?
J: No, im not! Im just too naive.
Kami: Being a god is something you're born with.
T: Ahh, its deep.
Kami: Being a god is something you are born with.
K: He just said that.
J: Im kinda imagining him with a smug face right now. *K laughs*
J: I havn't met him so I don't know though.
Kami: Even though I can't do anything, Im different from you guys.
J: Ah, you are born different?
Kami: Yes, yes, yes.
J: You exist differently from regular humans?
Kami: Yes, yes, yes.
J: I see.
K: We're right back to the occult now, aren't we?
J: Yeh, this is almost like a Tokyo Sports kind of issue.
Kami: No, you mustn't doubt the existence of god!
J: Oh, you musn't?
Kami: You mustn't! If you do, and you watch this movie, you will die.
J: We'll die?
T: Scary!
K: I wonder if we'll really die?
Kami: So believe in god!
K: Oh, if you believe in god, you won't die if you watch this movie?
Kami: Yeh, you can increase your shrine donation or something..
J: It ends up with money again *K laughs* He always ends up talking about money.
T: Whats up with him? *K laughing*
J: He doesn't have anything nice to say. Its always down to money in the end. With Ghosn he was the same.
T: He was, yeh *laughing*
Kami: Thats right
J: This has nothing to do with the movie 'Antrum'...
K: So there is a subscribe option on youtube right?
J: Yes, if you subscribe for us...
K: I think I should say 'please subscribe', I havn't said it yet * T laughs*
J: Please subscribe, everyone.
T: Please.
K: If we get more subscribers, we can do more things.
J: Right
Kami: Yes, please subscribe.
J: Subscribers will probably...
*sound cuts out*
On screen message :The sound cut out for some reason. We'll let you know what they said. For now, this episode has ended .
*1 - Not 100% sure I understood this story right.
*2 Translating quantum physics isn't my strong point.
*3 Im fairly sure i've missed some nuance here.
*4 Couldn't catch this.

((This may get lost in all the finale talk but I wanted it finished in time for Leo Day, so without further ado, here is Rogue’s personality sheet))
Name: Rogue
Age: 16 (November 5th)
- Leo 16, Donnie 16, Mikey 15, Raph 17, April 17
Gender: Female
Species: Australian Water Dragon
List the most important things about your character.
- Was an actual lizard before her mutation
- Was shipped from Australia to be a pet of a gothic teenage girl
- Did not retain an Australian accent because she was too young to learn one when she was shipped from Australia
- Gets called multiple creative nicknames from Leo, including but not limited to:
-- Ro
-- Rogue-y babey
-- (to the tune of Row Row Your Boat) Ro-Ro-Rogue-y baby
-- Stripes (they both call each other this)
-- Tails
-- Hot Fry ( ??? don’t know where he thought of this)
-- Spade (because of the shape of the mark on her back, which resembles a spade)
-- Reggae ( ?? )
-- Babey Spade
-- Moulin Rogue (to which she always laughs and responds, “it’s Rouge, dumbass!”)
- She loves to paint and be artsy with Mikey
- Will patiently listen while Donnie explains the technicalities of his latest inventions, and is also eager to be a test subject for some of his newer creations
- Absolutely loves to pull pranks with Leo and will sometimes sneak out with him on the shellhogs to race around the city
- Lives with April because “living with all guys is just a little too much sometimes” (but will crash with Leo if she is over there too late) and helps take care of Mayhem when April is at school/work
- She will sometimes instigate the Disaster Twins and their tomfoolery because she finds it so amusing
- She is actually not much of a fighter (but is well aware how to weaponize her tail and claws) but Raph has offered to help train her in their downtime
Physical Details
- Slim waist
- Thick thighs
- Short torso with long legs
Height: 5’6” (with Leo 5’11”, Donnie 5’11”, Mikey 5’6”, Raph 6’4”, April 5’5”)
Weight: ~ 130lbs
Skin: All scales
- Creamy pale green in color over the majority of her body
- Has “glove” markings on forearms and shins
Hair: None
Eyes: Blue eyes, long eyelashes
Other defining features/extra anatomy:
- Long tail with 17 stripes
- Has horizontal stripes from her eyes to the back of her head
- Three fingers/toes on limbs
- Has a heart-shaped marking in middle of torso on ventral side
- Has a spade-shaped marking in middle of torso on dorsal side
Habits:
- Constantly laughing with Leo
- Picking at her scales
- Will tap her claws or tail if she is jittery
- Will subconsciously quote movies if it seems appropriate for the situation even if no one around her knows where the quote comes from
- Will flick her tail if irritated
- When she gets nervous, her tail will suddenly curl around an object close to her for support (more often than not this object is Leo and he thinks it’s precious)
- When she’s being flirty, the tip of her tail will caress under his chin *enter heart-eyes Leo*
- Her tail moves in the night, accidentally knocking stuff over while she sleeps
- Often has sarcastic quips escape her mouth
Gestures/Mannerisms: She likes to sweep her tail around to help her hips sway back and forth
Voice: I am still figuring out a voice actor that I feel would fit her well. I’ve thought about Elizabeth Gillies, Liana Liberato, Sabrina Carpenter, Peyton List, etc. If you have any suggestions, I’m always open to options ! :)
Style: Athletic but casual (a cropped sleeveless hoodie with a choker, and a bandana wrapped around her arm)
-Personality-
Loves/Favorites:
- Food (will eat anything as she is omnivorous)
- Sunny days (loves to bask in the sun)
- Keeping her nails long and sharp
- Music (almost any kind. She can dance to pop, rap along to hip-hop, belt out to the Hamilton soundtrack (where Donnie will join in sometimes), dance to country music while breaking out in a southern accent, and sway lovingly to some nice jazz)
- Spooky stuff (Horror movies, Halloween, ghost stories, etc.)
- Movies! (Disney, Action, Horror, Sci-Fi, Adventure, Mystery)
- Watching/playing basketball (has somehow managed the ability to dribble with her tail)
- Playing Baseball (is not a bad short-stop)
- Swimming (she’s pretty fast underwater with the help of her long strong tail)
- Playing games (be it video games, card games, board games, etc.)
- Creating art (she loves to draw and paint, and also has a subtle love for photography)
- She has a huge ole’ crush on Leo <3
Hates:
- Cold weather (unless it’s snowing)
- Cloudy days (she loves the sun, duh)
- Rom-coms (too cheesy for her taste)
- Bad grammar (her previous owner (while Rogue was not fond of her) went to a college-prep school and she often overheard her speak with proper grammar)
- Burnt popcorn (a trAGEDY)
- A bad sense of humor (she’s thankful that pretty much all the turtles are able to laugh and not take anything super seriously because she often has some sarcastic quips that escape her mouth)
Hobbies: She draws, watches movies, will pick up a book occasionally
Talents/Skills:
- Dribbling a basketball with her tail
- Drawing/painting
- Memorizing movie quotes
Fears/Nightmares: Waking up one day back as a regular lizard
Best Quality: Sense of humor
Greatest Flaw:
- Not great at communication (gets cranky when she doesn’t have her alone time but is not good at expressing that)
- Sometimes gets jealous that she’s the “odd man out” and it wouldn’t matter if she wasn’t there because the boys already have April, but loves April all the same
- Perfectionist (likes things done a certain way) but only sometimes
Character Strengths:
- Playful
- Patient
- Good-natured
- A good sense of humor
- Laid back for most things
- A rationalist (very practical)
And the coinciding weaknesses: She’s not the best at opening up to anyone
What she wants and doesn’t want
- She wants to move towards having an actual family. Perhaps getting some training under her belt to know how to fight.
- She wants to stay away from her previous owner (and the snake that Evie always picked on her with, Calamity)
How does the character picture herself? Rogue: Oh gosh, what did everyone else say? This is kinda weird. Erm, I guess I’m a great swimmer. I like to laugh a lot so the boys never fail to make me. I’m not a neat freak, but not a crazy slob either? I like to think I’m fun to be around.
How do others see her?
- Leo: She’s beautiful, funny, short, has a great laugh, is always down to part-aaay. She laughs at my jokes! My jokes! You know that’s a quality girl!
- Donnie: Yeah, she’s… perfect for Leo, I guess. The two of them can get a bit riled up at times but she has a good heart. Plus, it keeps him busy and not a distraction for me when I’m trying to get work done.
- Mikey: Omigosh, I love her! She’s an awesome artist! She painted this piece on my shell right here, can you see it? Right here. Yeah, she’s great. Not a perfect chef, but I introduced Kondescending Kitchen to her and I think I’ve got her hooked.
- Raph: Shorty? She’s the best! She knows just when to bring Leo back down to Earth. Is always down for any athletic event. *whispers* she throws a mean spiral on Lace Face. I’ve been training with her a few nights a week, y’know to get her strength up. But it’ll be awhile before we take her on any type of mission.
- April: Oh, that’s my girl! Rogue is hilarious, and definitely great with Mayhem. She lives with me at my place, which isn’t bad. She isn’t a slob, so that’s great.
- Splinter: Is that the one with the tail?
Five adjectives that she would use to describe herself. Rogue: Oh, I guess… hmm… funny? Reasonable, happy, laid back, aaaand… artsy?
Five adjectives others would use to describe her.
- Leo: I’ll say it again. Beautiful, cute, funny, short, hilarious, pretty, smart, smokin’, (no, no, Leo, you’re only supposed to do 5. You’re good) … but I can keep going. (nah, I think we got it, thanks!)
- Donnie: Let’s see… Intelligent, humorous, independent yet social, and likeable
- Mikey: She’s tons of fun! Super friendly, a crazy good artist, awesome gamer, and very responsible when need be.
- Raph: The girl’s tough, athletic, smart, a jokester, and pretty trustworthy.
- April: She’s so funny, we laugh all the time. And we have inside jokes and secrets that I trust her with. Super sweet, but she also has a daring side that hypes me up. Aaand, she’s considerate. A good roommate and friend.
- Splinter: When did Blue get a girlfriend?
Most valued possession: Rogue: Oh, uh… probably the bandana that I have wrapped around my arm here. The boys gave it to me as sort of a family token. I didn’t like the look of it on my face since it hid my stripes but I always like to know where it is even if it’s not on me.
Darkest secret and/or treasured memory: Rogue: Wow, you guys ask a lot of questions. Ummm, I guess I shoplifted this hoodie. That’s not the worst thing in the world, but I’m not sure. Not many people know but I don’t think it’s a huge deal. A treasured memory I guess is when I met the boys for the first time. Also the day I escaped Evie.
Most proud accomplishment and or greatest failure: Rogue: I mean, I’m pretty proud of all the art I make. I guess the best thing I ever accomplished was escaping Evie, my previous owner. Everything kinda went uphill from there.
Current motivation: Rogue: Motivation for what exactly? To keep living? I guess my family. The turtles and April have really opened my eyes to what a happy life could actually be. It’s great. Everyday is an adventure with them and they make me feel so loved.
How does she view the future and/or the past? Rogue: I guess I regret not escaping Evie’s place sooner. That was just not a great time for me. But, hey, it’s all better now. I’m happier than I’ve ever been.
What is her philosophy on life and death? Rogue: Well, back before the mutation, when I was still at Evie’s place, I was just a lizard that didn’t really care one way or the other. Evie would constantly shove her other pet, a snake she named Calamity, super close to my cage. Us Aussie Water Dragons are common prey for snakes so it scared the shit out of me. It happened so much that it got to the point where I would just think ‘whatever. If the snake is going to eat me, go ahead. This isn’t a life to live anyway, being in this cage.’ It sucked and the best day of my life was when I escaped. Now I spend everyday with a smile on my face. I want to live life to the fullest! And the turtles really make that feeling come true.
What kind of energy level do they usually have? Rogue: I’m normally pretty calm and chill but I have been known to get riled up with Leo. Mikey and his bubbly side also hype me up sometimes.
How does she show and/or handle: love, affection, grief, pain, anger, sadness, conflict, change, loss? Rogue: I was conflicted with how to feel when the turtles first invited me to their home. Up until then all I had known were dead crickets and a glass box on all sides of me. So, it was definitely weird for me. I mean, Calamity didn’t like me so all I got were stupid threats from her. But loving the turtles came so easy to me. And ever since I met them I had felt a different feeling towards Leo, but the sensation was so foreign to me that I didn’t really understand. I liked him, all of them, but it was just a feeling of wanting to be around him more.
Does she have a temper? Rogue: I think I’m self-aware enough to admit that I have a small temper and I handle it with major passive aggression. I’m not great at confrontation and I’m used to letting things that really get to me sit inside. It’s not the healthiest practice, but…
How does she respond to the surrounding world, the ‘unfamiliar,’ and other people in general? Rogue: You mean everything outside my cage? It’s fantastic! I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to taste the fresh air when I first escaped. The only type of “friendship” I had was with a tarantula in Evie’s room. He and I weren’t close but I preferred him to Calamity anyday. So coming out into the world and seeing the turtles, I was super nervous. Everything was unfamiliar to me.
Polite or rude? Rogue: I like to think I’m polite? I mean, I was never really taught any manners from Evie.
Stingy or generous? Rogue: Umm… both? Neither? I don’t have much to share or hoard.
What kind of ‘public’ face does she display? Rogue: The turtles know I’m not crazy about Evie, so they accept that I don’t always want to talk about her. I’m pretty much an open book, though.
Leader or a follower? Rogue: Both? Neither? I have the reasoning to be a leader in some cases, but I will always do what Raph says if he’s giving orders… even though I don’t go on missions with them. He and April are the oldest and definitely know more about the world than I do. As far as I’m concerned, he’s the leader and I respect him too much to argue about that.
More happy by themselves or in a group? Rogue: I spent years alone in a cage. I love being around people. We don’t even have to be doing anything, but their presence makes me feel a bit safer.
Does he/she have any addictions/dependencies/fixations/fetishes/ or other strange behavior? Rogue: Is popcorn an addiction?
What is her sexual preference/experience/values? Rogue: I like Leo.
-History/Background- Rogue: I feel like I’ve talked enough for one day. I’ll let Taylor finish this off.
Setting: Present day in Rise universe
Occupation: Nah, she’s a mutant lizard, although she sometimes wishes she could help pay rent for April’s apartment because she spends so much time there. April doesn’t mind it since she’s already used to the boys raiding her fridge, but a job under Señor Hueso was mentioned at one point (and might possibly play a role in the future)
Educational background/other learning experiences: Her previous owner has good grammar, but she did not develop the ability to speak until after mutation
Intelligence Level: As smart as a pet of a prep-school kid can be. She also has learned plenty from the turtles and April.
Short Term Goals: Probably finishing a book or a video game.
Long Term Goals:
- Finding the perfect weapon for herself.
- Keeping the family she was so lucky to find
Family:
- Has no idea about her biological parents since she was shipped out so early in life. Doesn’t really bother her that much, though.
- Previous owner: Name is Evangelique (Evie) Flint, who named Rogue and took care of her fine, meaning she was fed adequately. However, Evie favored the other pets that she owned (her snakes and scorpions) and would sometimes get the snakes close to Rogue in order to freak her out (Australian Water Dragons are often prey for snakes). When Evie was moving houses with her family, Rogue was able to escape. She never looks back.
Friends:
- Leo: She and Leo are super close and became fast friends. He flirted with her for months before she actually caught on. Rogue always thought he was cute but was pretty clueless when it came to romance. April filled her in and helped them get together (the best wingman). He is always able to make her laugh and it’s not difficult for her to reciprocate. He enjoys playing with her tail. They’re young and in love but still best friends. The others refer to them together as “The Stripes.” He doesn’t really get seriously jealous because he trusts her with his brothers. He adores her laugh and the heart-shaped mark on her chest.
- Donnie: They’re cool friends. She looks up to him as if he is older than her because of how smart he is. He’s more calm with her than he is with the boys because he’s seen her rational side. She’ll stay out of his way when he’s busy, but won’t decline being a helpful assistant or test subject for an experiment.
- Mikey: She thought he was super funny, like Leo. He was fascinated by her splotches and patterns, and was overjoyed that she liked art as well. One of their first times bonding together was over video games.
- Raph: He approached her first when they first encountered her, mainly as a way to shield his brothers if she was a threat. She likes to play some type of sporty game with him even though she is not nearly as in-shape as the rest of them. It was his idea for her to start sparring. He appreciates how tough and level-headed she is. He thinks she’s a good fit for Leo.
- April: Rogue was fairly relieved to make friends with a girl. April loved her look and thought the choker and hoodie was awesome. She lets Rogue sleep on her couch whenever she pleases, and she thinks it’s great that Mayhem likes her.
- Splinter: They’re not close. She’s met him a couple times and only because she felt it weird that the rat had yet to introduce himself. It’s sort of a mutual respect that they have.
Backstory:
- Born in Australia and shipped to Poughkeepsie, where Evie lived. She was lonely and constantly tormented by her owner and the snake, Calamity, who lived just a single frame of glass away next to her cage.
- After years of living in Poughkeepsie, Evie’s family decided to move to Detroit because of her mother’s business demands.
- Early on in the move, Rogue was able to escape and out of the vehicle and off the Mid-Hudson Bridge into the Hudson River. The river carried her down to Manhattan where she consumed an Ooze-quito and became mutated.
- I’m still figuring out a story on how she met the turtles and the events leading up to the present because she’s currently been with them for nearly half a year (I’ll probably write some drabbles on it in the near future, so stay tuned)
-Combat-
Physical Strength:
- Her tail is the strongest part of her body
- She has enough strength to workout with the boys, but cannot do any of the heavy weights that they can.
Coordination/Reflexes: Not bad reflexes. She’s not clumsy, but her tail has been known to knock things over in an environment she is unfamiliar with.
Fighting Style: Is typically prone to striking with her claws and/or tail
Unusual Abilities/Powers: Nothing mystical about her besides the mutation
Weapons/Other Gear: Has yet to find a weapon that works for her
((couple things, Tumblr completely messed with the format of this but oh well, yes I referenced Leo’s pose from the episode Newsworthy, but I just adore his pose so much that I was super excited to draw it, they may or may not be holding hands, that’s up to your interpretation :D, but yeah. this personality ref sheet was super long but I really wanted to milk this character because I hope she sticks with me for a long time. If you read the whole thing, thank you so much, I appreciate you more than you realize :) ))

HALLOWEEN BONANZA #4 - Josuke/Reader SPOOKY HAUNTED HOUSE FLUFF
This one’s SFW! I just couldn’t make Josuke into a monster, he’s too much of a sweet angel. A warning for this one that the kids in this fic are exhibiting BAD OUIJA BOARD ETIQUETTE. Ouija boards might be serious business and they might be just a toy, but personally I’m not taking any risks!
Josuke has a good reason to dislike Halloween, but he’s willing to do anything to make you happy - and if he thinks spending the night in a haunted house will do that, then he’ll try his best  not to be too much of a scaredy cat. Halloween is a time when the veil between worlds is at its weakest, though. There’s no telling what might make itself known--
From what you know about the adventure Josuke and his friends had in the summer of 1999, he has a perfectly good reason to not like Halloween. He doesn’t like scary movies - the idea of slasher films, and people enjoying watch teenagers getting brutally murdered, just makes him shrug uncomfortably. He doesn’t like all of the blood and severed body parts and skeleton decorations, and he jumps a lot more easily than people would expect from a guy that’s now reached over six foot. He throws himself into every other celebration - birthdays, Christmas, Valentines day . . . it’s just Halloween that he doesn’t seem to like.
You, on the other hand, love it.
“If you wanna celebrate it, babe,” he says, giving you a smile, “I’ll do my best to make you happy, y’know? It’s just . . . Well, there are some parts of the season I’m not a fan of. So if we could try and keep stuff light-hearted, that’d be good.”
You’d assured him that you would try and keep things light-hearted, bought the cute decorations instead of the spooky ones, found a cute couples Halloween costume for you both to wear, bought cute pumpkin shaped candies (he hadn’t wanted ghost shaped ones), and you were ready to spend this Halloween having a sickeningly adorable time.
Well, there’s always something that comes along to throw a spanner in the works.
This spanner came in the form of Rohan Kishibe and Hirose Koichi, the latter of whom was friends with Josuke and the former whom . . . knew Josuke. Perhaps ‘friends’ wasn’t the right term to describe their particular relationship - at any rate, they were acquaintances, and at any rate, they got on better than they once did.
(“You burnt his house down?” You ask, holding a cup of tea in one hand and staring at your boyfriend in disbelief. Josuke shrugs his shoulders uncomfortably. “Well. Kinda? That’s not really - that’s probably an oversimplification, or somethin’--”)
Anyway, Rohan Kishibe is a manga artist, and he’s dragging Koichi along to spend Halloween night in a house in the middle of S-City that’s rumoured to be haunted. Koichi’s girlfriend Yukako had taken offence to Koichi not spending Halloween with her and had been invited along, and those three alone were a recipe for disaster, so eventually the invitation had been extended to include you, Josuke and Okuyasu as well.
Josuke gives you an embarrassed smile.
“I’m sorry it’s ruined your plans, babe,” he says, throwing his arm about your shoulders, “but . . . Yeah. I didn’t really wanna leave Koichi hanging, and I know y’like ghosts and that spooky stuff, and I thought maybe we could have fun if it was everyone together?”
“I don’t believe in ghosts,” you say to Josuke, patiently. “But . . . as long as I’m with you, I’m sure I’ll have a good time.”
The grin that splits Josuke’s face is dazzling, making him look even more handsome than usual - as if that were possible.
“I promise we’re gonna have the best Halloween ever!” He says, voice fervent, clapping hands on either side of your shoulder. “I promise!”
Whether it was the ‘best Halloween ever’ or not, you were at least about to have a very interesting one.
* * *
The house in question is a little bigger than average and decorated liberally for Halloween, and Rohan does not look pleased by it.
“When I said I was coming here for my research,” he says, elegant nose in the air, “I requested they leave it exactly as they found it. I did not want anything to be spoiled by this cheap, worthless decoration--” He plucks at a wooden plaque hanging on one of the walls, painted to look aged and faded and bearing the slogan ‘BEWARE’. “This isn’t real at all.”
You have to agree with him - the decorations are on the edge of tacky. Josuke seems displeased by them, too. They’re hovering a little too close to being the realistic kind of gore he hates and not the cutesy kind of friendly Halloween image that he’s fine with. Despite the fact that they do look cheesy (you see him looking with distaste at a plastic, severed hand), he’s obviously uncomfortable with them.
You lay a hand on his arm and smile at him reassuringly - Josuke gives you a wobbly smile in return.
Maybe the people who had let Rohan come here had been worried that the bland decor would make him angry, make him feel like he’d been mislead and demand his money back because there’s no way a murder could have taken place somewhere so ordinary. If this were the case, they had greatly misjudged Rohan Kishibe - he’s muttering under his breath about giving them a piece of his mind.
“So, uh, what’s the story with this place, Rohan-sensei?” Koichi asks, sensing that the mangaka is about to let a dark mood engulf him. You slip your hand into Josuke’s and follow the rest of them into the next room, comforted by the soft warmth of your boyfriend’s skin - Josuke looks glad for the contact. You get the impression he’s a jumpscare away from freaking out completely and running out of the house.
The decorations might not be scary to most people, but then again, Josuke isn’t most people.
“Everyone who’s lived here in the past hundred years has met a grisly end,” Rohan says, as you all filter out into what you think was once a guest bedroom. “There are all kinds of stories about demons and spirits who live here, drawn to the suffering and such.” Rohan gives a shrug, obviously not particularly invested in the tale. “The people I spoke to said nobody has managed to stay here a whole night, and I thought that if there were ghosts here, it would be a good frame of reference for my manga.”
Josuke looks a little frightened, his eyes wide.
“N-nobody has managed to stay here a whole night?” He asks, trying to keep his tone light - but his hand is gripping yours with considerable force. “Nobody at all?”
Rohan looks at Josuke with disdain.
“Nobody until me,” he clarifies, obviously not thinking the rest of your party count. “Nothing’s going to frighten me so much I run screaming out of this place.”
Yukako smiles, triumphantly, and reaches into her bag.
“Good,” she says. “Let’s test that theory.”
* * *
Yukako has brought candles and a Ouija board, and your spine is prickling with unease.
You’re not the only one.
Koichi seems unhappy, and Okuyasu’s face is downright terrified - when you look beside you in the circle you’ve formed, Josuke’s teeth are grit and he looks more on edge than you’ve ever seen him. The set of his shoulders is tense and you want to rub your hands across them and press kisses onto his cheek and reassure him that everything is going to be fine - unfortunately, that’s not the kind of thing that you do in front of other people, so you have to make do with resting your hand on his knee.
The only two people who seem into this in any way are Yukako and Rohan, and both of them have their eyes set on each other and tension fizzing through every muscle of their body. It’s like they’re engaged in some strange game of chicken - one of them has to back down first, and neither of them want to.
“We really don’t have to do this--” You say, taking a deep breath, figuring if someone’s taking control of the situation it ought to be you, as the others all seem kind of terrified as to what’s about to happen.
“No,” Rohan says, voice sharp, “you don’t. I, on the other hand, think that this is going to be a worthwhile experiment and good reference material for the supernatural arcs of Pink Dark Boy. I’ve never actually partaken in a Ouija session and I feel like they’ll be supremely useful. If you’re frightened,” here, Rohan’s eyes land on you and narrow in scorn, “then you can go into one of the other rooms.”
That’s what settles it.
If you were going to try and gently guide Josuke into the other room so he didn’t have to be around for something that’s clearly making him uncomfortable, any chances of that were now scuppered - Rohan has just suggested that someone who didn’t stay for his strange experiment is a coward, and Josuke’s pride is too fragile to accept that insult. Especially not where Rohan is concerned.
“We’ll stay, won’t we, babe?” He says, voice deliberate, putting his arm around you and accidentally digging his nails into soft skin.
“Yeah, of course,” you reply. “Ghosts aren’t real, anyway.”
There’s a pause after you say that, an exchange of looks between the people in the room that you don’t quite understand, but you aren’t given much time to dwell on how strange that might be, because Yukako has produced a lighter and is lighting candles. She asks Koichi to turn off the light and he does, ever the dutiful boyfriend - but as you’re thrown into darkness, the flickering flames the only thing illuminating each other’s faces, Josuke shifts deliberately closer to you.
You fancy you can feel the beating of his heart, a hammering rhythm against his chest, and you wish you could run your fingers through his hair and remind him that nothing is going to hurt him. Halloween really isn’t his holiday.
Everything you know about Ouija boards has been gleaned from horror movies and Halloween specials - if Yukako does anything wrong, you don’t see it. All you see is the faint, serene smile on her face as she goes about her business, and then as she asks you all to crowd in and put your finger over the planchette.
The silence in the room hangs thickly as you all lurch forward. Your finger rests beside Josuke’s, and you look at his face in the dim candlelight. His jaw is set, a muscle flickering in it. He looks afraid, and you wish you’d been more stubborn. If you’d perhaps told him you didn’t want to come here, you wouldn’t be trapped in this mess, and you and he could be curled up on the sofa in your house and handing out pumpkin shaped candies to trick or treaters as you exclaimed about how scary their costumes were.
“Are there any spirits nearby?”
Yukako’s voice rings out clear across the silent room, and despite your logical brain saying that nothing is going to happen, your heart jumps up into your throat. You wonder if everyone else is feeling quite so on edge.
There’s a silence in the room that cuts like a knife, thick with tension - and then slowly, oh-so-slowly, the planchette moves towards the ‘yes’.
You hear Josuke swallow, and as you look to one side, you see that there’s a strange glint in Rohan’s eye. He’s fascinated.
A strangled yelp escapes Okuyasu’s mouth, that he promptly looks deeply embarrassed by, and he clamps his mouth shut again. His lips are pressed into a tight line.
“How many spirits?” Yukako asks, and this time the planchette moves across the board a little faster. You’re barely touching it, and you wonder which of the others is manipulating the little  pointer. You don’t think it’s Josuke - he’s as stiff as a board himself. You’re not sure it’s Okuyasu, either - he seemed genuinely frightened by the movement, and you think he values being seen as a tough guy too much for him to voluntarily tarnish that. It’s definitely not you - you’d know if that were the case.
Rohan’s too caught up in the realism of whatever he does to be the one making a Ouija board move falsely. His eyes are fanatically bright, glowing green and fixed on where your hands are joined. Koichi would never do something like this.
You suppose it’s Yukako, then. Ah well. If she wanted to have her fun, who were you to stop her? You wouldn’t call her out on this unless it went too far - and you had to admit, there was something pretty fun about the way the candles were flickering and the silence in the supposedly-haunted house. It all made for a wonderfully creepy Halloween, and that’s the kind of thing you love.
The planchette moves from letter to letter. M-A-N-Y.
“Many?” Rohan breathes. “Fascinating. Ask them more--”
Yukako shoots him a withering glare, as if angry with him for interrupting her concentration.
“How old are you?” She asks, and Rohan snorts under his breath - you get the impression he thinks this is rather a stupid question. Still, Yukako knows what she’s doing. The planchette moves to the one. The planchette moves to the zero. It jerks away, and then does it again.
“One hundred? One hundred what?” Rohan asks, and Yukako snaps out;
“One person should be asking the questions--”
But the planchette moves anyway, almost too fast for you to keep up. C-E-N-T-U-R-Y-S.
Guess ghosts aren’t too good at spelling.
“Are you a good spirit?” Yukako asks, and there’s a lull in the movement for a second. This presence obviously needs time to mull it over, and despite your skepticism you feel prickles of sweat down your back.
The planchette begins to move, and it’s as if you’ve read the future. It moves towards ‘no’.
A whimper escapes Josuke’s pressed together lips, and you see the shake of his hand, and you can’t let this happen to your boyfriend. You speak, for the first time.
“Yukako, this isn’t funny.”
You look up. Yukako’s face is white. She looks frightened, and you’ve never seen Yukako look anything other than perfectly put together. She breathes out, her voice dry;
“It’s not me.”
“W-who else could it be?” You say, pulling your hand back from the planchette (later, reading literature online, you’ll discover this was a very bad idea). Josuke seems to be spurred on by you drawing back, and he snatches his hand into his lap - a chain of events that means Okuyasu does too.
“I-it’s not me!” She insists, and then; “Look!”
She moves her finger off the little wooden pointer, which is vibrating now, as if full of energy. You watch in horror as it moves quick enough to knock Rohan’s hand off of it. Nobody is touching it now, and yet it has moved to the nine on the board.
Everyone around the board watches in horror as it moves to the eight, with nobody touching it. One of the candles flickers, and goes out.
Eight.
Yukako reaches across and tries to put her hand on the planchette again, but it moves too quickly.
Seven.
She gets ahold of it, and then, speaks loudly--
“Don’t--”
A violent jerk to the six.
A strangled noise of fear comes out of Okuyasu as another candle goes out, and you look at Josuke next to you, who’s shaking violently.
Five.
Strands of Yukako’s hair begin to move despite the fact there’s no wind, that no doors or windows are open - it’s whipped around as if a gust of air is blowing directly onto her. You shiver; it feels as though the room has suddenly gotten very gold.
Four.
Yukako screams. You’re far enough away in the group that you see her head tip back, you see her eyes roll back, you see that for a moment there’s nothing visible but the whites of her eyes. Koichi scrambles away from her. Rohan looks fascinated, and it’s with a flash of disgust that you realize he’s actually interested in what’s happening and doesn’t care that everyone else is terrified.
Three.
There’s the sound of glass shattering, another candle going out (there’s only one left), a whimpered moan that comes from either Okuyasu or Josuke, you can’t quite tell-- Two.
Something guttural and frightening issues forth from Yukako’s mouth, a language you don’t think you’ve ever heard spoken before, deeper a noise than you think it’s possible for a human voice to make.
One.
Rohan finally moves. His long spidery fingers clamp down over Yukako’s, and with his air of knowing exactly what he’s doing at all times, he forces her hand down to the centre of the board, to the ‘GOODBYE’. He speaks aloud -
“That’s enough--”
The final candle goes out, and Josuke screams.
* * *
After the events of the night, despite Rohan’s insistence that you were being cowards, you’re not staying any longer.
“I’ll book a hotel,” you say to Josuke, who still looks shaken up. “I’m not . . . don’t worry, babe. It’ll be fine.”
Josuke’s voice cracks.
“I don’t like Halloween,” he says. You want to throw your arms around him and let him cry into your shoulders - if his wobbling lip is any indication, he wants to be able to cry to. “I really . . . Shit, I don’t like Halloween.”
“It’s alright,” you say, trying to keep your voice soft as you shove his things into a bag. Okuyasu is hovering and then, blurts out;
“I’m comin’ too. I don’t like the energy of this place.” He shivers. “There’s somethin’ real weird about, y’know? I don’t . . . If there are bad spirits here, I feel like we should leave ‘em alone. That’s what they’d want, right?”
“I think you’re right,” comes Koichi’s voice, a little more assured than anyone else’s. The diminutive man is shaking, but he looks at you three with a solemn face. “I’m leaving too. Yukako will probably follow me. If you want . . . I can drive us all back. It’ll be a tight fit, but . . .”
“Please,” Josuke says, the word tumbling out of his mouth in desperation. “I really don’t think I can stay here.”
“You can’t be serious,” Rohan scoffs, coming into the sitting room and looking around at all of you. “All this over a silly children’s game?”
Josuke snaps.
“You should know better than anyone that ghosts aren’t a story you can just bend around to be whatever the fuck you want ‘em to be!” He says, voice rising to a volume you’ve only ever heard it at when somebody insults his hair. “You’re fuckin’ around with stuff we shouldn’t be fucking around with! What’s it gonna take for you to admit that you’re not infallible, huh? One of us dying? You probably wouldn’t even care!”
Rohan’s expression is as haughty as ever.
“There are certain things that have to be put up with for the sake of art,” he says, voice prim and proper. “And for the sake of realism in my art, I’m willing to--”
“Rohan-sensei,” Koichi says, sounding serious. You’re aware that he’s usually the peacemaker of the group, and everyone looks at him to be the moral compass, but until this moment you haven’t understood why. But his voice doesn’t have a single shake in it. “I think you’re forgetting what we know about ghosts. Places that have connections to the spirit world - I think Josuke’s right. We should go home. It’s probably safest.”
You don’t think now is the right time to pry about what they know. Josuke’s made it clear there’s some kind of past history regarding Rohan and him and everyone else and ghosts, but you’ll get that from your boyfriend some other time.
You didn’t believe in ghosts this morning, but this morning you’d never seen a planchette move on its own or blow out candles or glass shatter in a photo frame with nothing touching it. You’d never seen anyone’s hair move the way that Yukako’s had (maybe that one could be explained) - you’d never heard anyone’s voice turn that way. You’d never seen that happen to their eyes.
You figure today is as good a day as any to start believing in ghosts.
Rohan seems defeated by Koichi, as he always is; you don’t know what it is about him, but Rohan trusts and likes Koichi more than anyone else. No wonder Yukako didn’t seem to like him hanging around with her boyfriend.
“Alright,” Rohan says, grumpily, sounding like a child who’s just been denied his favourite flavour of ice cream. “I guess you can drive me home, too.”
“There isn’t room,” Josuke bites out, his tone tinged with spite. “Get a fucking taxi.”
Rohan tips his head up so that his eyes are level with Josuke’s, and you swear that for a minute you actually see sparks flying between them, a physical representation of the fact that both of them would probably like nothing better than to punch the other.
Rohan heaves a sigh.
“Alright,” he says, tone long-suffering, “it’s not like I can’t afford it.”
* * *
“I’m sorry about today,” you say to Josuke, very gently, once you’re back in your own house. Josuke looks at you with despair present in his gaze.
“I know you love Halloween,” he says. “I’m sorry about everything. I really didn’t think -- I had no idea that things would turn out like that.”
“None of us thought that,” you tell him, stepping forward and cupping his face. He leans into the warmth of your palm and you’re reminded how soft his skin is and how handsome Josuke Higashikata is, how lucky you are to be the one who gets to touch him. “Hell. I love spooky things and that was too much for me.”
“Rohan should know better,” Josuke says. “Especially after everything that happened with Reimi.”
You look at him curiously. Sometimes Josuke forgets you haven’t been a constant part of his life in the way Koichi or Okuyasu have. He mentions people he forgets you’ve never met, asks you if you remember an event that you weren’t present for. Whoever Reimi is, it’s obvious from Josuke’s expression as he mentions her that she’s someone significant.
It’s not a day to be pushy, though.
“Do you want to go to bed?” You ask him, trying to keep your voice soft. In the car, Josuke had picked glass out of your hair and napped on your shoulder. You’d been sandwiched in the middle between Okuyasu and Josuke and you’re longing to be able to stretch out on the soft sheets of your bed.
“I’m worried I’ll have nightmares,” he admits. “That was some real shit back there.”
You smile adoringly up at him.
“I’ll hold you,” you say, “you can be the little spoon.”
You surprise a laugh out of your boyfriend and feel like the proudest person in the world - Josuke laughs easily, usually, but when he’s in a mood he can be difficult to break out of it. He’d been noticeably gloomy and jumpy since the Ouija incident. Not that he could be blamed for that.
“Well, hell,” he says, already moving towards the bedroom. “How can I say no to an offer like that from someone as cute as you are?”
“You can’t,” you agree amiably, already stripping out of your clothes as you walk, excited to feel your body pressed against his. “I’m too cute and you need to sleep with me right now. It’s just my natural charm.”
His colour and his light attitude are slowly returning to him; he turns his head and throws a careless wink in your direction, saying as you crawl onto the mattress;
“Sleep with you, huh?”
“Pervert,” you mumble sleepily, wrapping arms around Josuke’s trim waist and hoping that there isn’t any glass left in your hair as you bury your face in his neck. He smells like his cologne, a slightly childish and fruity smell that you adore. “Good job you’re so cute too.”
He makes a content noise, snuggling back into you, plush of his butt pressing against you. You drop a sleepy kiss over the birthmark on his shoulder.
“Hey,” you say, voice heavy with sleep, “y’know, because we were out we didn’t get any trick or treaters. We’ll hafta eat all of that candy ourselves.”
“Fuck yeah,” Josuke mumbles, “I wanted the candy for me anyway.”

Today’s random Thought about gamemaking, I guess? Does anyone else get inexplicably super pissed off when a song seems to give the wrong meaning to a scene?
Like seriously i do not know ANYTHING about making music, I don’t even know how to read music notation at a basic primary school level. So it seems bewhildering to me when super talented viddygame musicians seem to take a ‘ehh it doesnt matter’ attitude to their soundtrack. I can’t understand why any game would not even TRY to have music match to the story stuff that’s happening, seriously why are there so many mediocre products like that. EVEN STUPID BUNNI CAN SEE IT!!! WE EXPECT BETTER FROM YOU!!! Good retort for any other ‘don’t listen to the players, they couldn’t make their own game’ type argument- you don’t have to be a master chef to know a cake is burnt.
sorry, sorry, I’m getting offtopic here, I’m just a little fired up!
Well basically what I mean is that music can be REALLY IMPORTANT to enhance an emotional moment in a game, and it can backfire horribly if one of those moments has a bad soundtrack. Not that it’s the be all and end all of sorywriting though, I mean there are plenty of games out there with forgettable soundtracks that still made me cry. But.. I mean.. usually they were just forgettable, and not outright terrible. Not many games where I had to play the whole thing muted managed to stir up as much emotion, yknow...? RAMBLING AGAIN Summary: music is not > writing, but can add +1 to writing if they work in harmony.
But the point that bothered me today is remembering how a failed musical moment can confuse players on the meaning of a scene, if the writing didn’t outright spell it out. Or if the writing is very clear on the intended reaction and the music still seems to say something else, the disconnect can ruin your immersion even if you still understood what was trying to be said. or, hypothetically, if a situation exists with two versions of the same story and one of them has a fitting, meaningful song while the other has a rather generic one, that moment could seem to hold more ‘importance’ in the narrative depending on which version you bought. JUST SAYIN’
which actually happened once in pokemon ruby and sapphire and it still rustles my jimmies!!!
okay so we have two versions of the same game where the villain guy has a different personality and tries to harness the power of a legendary monster of either fire or water. They both still follow the same general plotline, and both have a moment where villain guy’s plan fails and he isn’t able control [insert monster name here], thus causing Apocolypse Time for some damn reason this was chosen as one of the only songs that differs between games, despite its emotional resonance being CRITICALLY important to this goddamn scene
youtube
I guess that’s bad? I suppose?
but then the other one gets the fuckin creepiest music i have ever heard in a pokemon game
youtube
I THINK THAT EVER SO SLIGHTLY CHANGES THE TONE OF THE SCENE, GUYS
seriously, the water one sounds more like a vaguely ominous dungeon exploration theme and like.. a music.. in general??? not a YOU DONE FUCKED UP! YOU DONE FUCKED UP! alarm blaring right in maximillian’s goddamn face. it’s deliberately dissonant non-music, and the other one doesn’t even try to capture the same sort of aesthetic!
and lil kid me had only played Sapphire Version, so I never even heard the spookier version until I played the Ruby remake a decade later I know it sounds weird to not grasp the gravity of a literal apocolypse if the music isn’t scary enough, but I mean.. its a jrpg cliche. The world is always under threat and we already knew it was under threat and that’s why we wanted to beat this guy. That spooky music moment was necessary to sell the audience on something that’s often lost its shock value in this genre. And it was also an emotional moment because its where the villain sees the consequences of his actions and realizes what he was doing was wrong. It shouldnt be just a ‘wow, new sea adventure dungeon, better get moving kiddo’ sort of thing, but something that knocks you off your tracks for a second and makes you pause to take in what this guy is saying and feel sympathy for his horrific realization. Its a moment that’s so disarming for him that you just have to leave him there nigh-catatonic as you rush off to fix his mistake, and he only properly teams up with you to help save the day a dungeon or two later. That just seemed like a plot contrivance in Sapphire because there wasn’t that same desperate urgency that you have to rush off NOW, and can’t wait for this guy. Apocolypses happen all the time in rpg games, you need to specify to the audience when you want it to feel like an URGENT apocolypse! FF7 had a similar moment where you learn a bunch of revelations about the main villain and he succeeds in summoning the magic meteor that was more of an abstract threat this entire time. Now you can see it hovering in the distant sky, and the world map music has a drastic spooky change similar to this game. it worked there, it worked in pokemon ruby, pokemon sapphire why did you change it?
also, a more random minor issue I had with another song in the same game
youtube
Is it just me or does Wally’s theme sound more like ‘classy rich guy’ than ‘unconfident younger child with a chronic illness whom you play a mentor role to’? It also sounds really cheerful and upbeat and reminds me more of the generic ‘HI I AM GIRL AND CUTE AND CRUSH ON YOU’ rival characters like May and Shauna. Its just kinda got that ‘hyperactive and clumsy but in a way that’s supposed to be seen as a love interest’ sort of vibe. So yeah to me it says ‘fancy high class characters are usually egotistical jerk rivals, but I personally want to assure you that this rich lady is actually super nice and adorable and possibly has cute comic relief aspects’. Aka Sonia Nevermind from Danganronpa. Is this just my brain making nonsensical associations or does anyone see where I’m coming from??
youtube
Also ‘Wally Emotion’ doesnt seem to have ANYTHING in common with it and I never even knew this was a Wally-only theme AT ALL until I saw the track listing.
youtube
THINGS THAT SOUND WAY MORE LIKE THAT: THIS seriously why is this just the generic song for the town the guy lives in, instead you don’t even really take enough time passing through it to hear the full thing...
also obligatory mention to possibly the greatest change in the whole remake being SPECIFICALLY GIVING THIS GUY ANOTHER ACTUALLY FITTING REMIX SONG hey guess what didnt give me emotions in the first version hey guess what gives me all the emotions now FUCK YEAH that’s how you sell ‘the student becomes the master’ entirely without words! this thing was so goddamn successful that it took me half an hour to even find a video of his ‘main theme’, youtube search was overwhelmingly shoved full of cover of this badass piece i cant believe that the original game just used the same old minor trainer battle theme for him...

it’s already tennnnnnnnnnnnn
i uh. am still very burnt out. worse than yesterday. i feel dumb. like my head is a bucket full of goop. silly putty.
i woke up kind of on time. i felt very, strange when i woke up. i felt like i knew exactly what to do. but what i knew to do i don’t know. i went back to sleep for ten minutes. my arm’s got what seems like an irritated patch. i was thinking road rash, but looking that up, it’s not that severe. but it’s been bothering me. it’s near my wrist where i used to hurt myself a lot. i don’t any more, but the skin still gets irritated pretty easy i guess.
anyway, i went in and taught my class. after that my brain died. i took my office hour to mostly have a lunch break and only spent a half hour (out of the 50 minutes) grading. i also helped out the students a little bit. my tuesday office hour is in the practice lab so i get students coming by to practice for their lab sessions sometimes.
after that i spent just over two hours grading i think... i got a section done? i think? i don’t remember. and i filled out my paperwork for next semester with the registrar. as i was heading up to her office i was worried i would start crying if i sat down. i didn’t but it sure felt like i was gonna. after that i went to coffee cookie hour with jennica and taylor and luis and rebika. i gave rebika so much sass that she left though. i felt kinda bad but i joked that i couldn’t tease her if she wasn’t around. i was a little nicer to her after that except when she asked me a really rude question before i left for the night. i’ll get to that.
the undergrads had baked “trick” cookies and “treat” cookies as a special thing for halloween. i had one of both. and also a sugar bone.
oh i was wearing spider earrings today to be super spooky. and also my “Cool Dude” shirt because it is technically a costume and also because it makes me feel better about myself.
the “trick” cookie was baked with sriracha. i figured it out pretty fast. one of the professors commented on it later and i laughed and told him what kind of hot sauce it was.
the undergrad sam sat by me and luis and jennica again and started calling me cute repeatedly. i started getting kiiiinda tilted.
“yeah, i’m super cute, i’m not an actual person with real feelings like sadness,” i grinned at her.
she turned to luis. “she’s super cute when she gets mad and copies me,” she said to him.
“someday you’ll have to stop flirting with me to luis,” i told her.
she laughed and said that was cute too. i think she is doing it to antagonize me. i am not sure why she is so fixated on such a belittling term, especially since we haven’t really had an actual conversation before.
i looked at jennica, who was dressed up as misty, and also sitting across the table from me. “which story should i tell her to get her to shut up?” i asked.
“don’t,” she said.
“why not?” i leaned over to look at her phone.
she was all like, “because you’ll make ME sad.”
over the course of the day i had a lot of trouble having actual conversations though. i’d just perked up a bit because i had a cup of tea and mint tea cheers me up a little bit. talking to harrison was a huge slog. not because he’s hard to talk to, but because i couldn’t hold on to a sentence long enough to finish it.
he was super tired too. apparently this is the worst classical homework assignment we’ve ever had, and i still haven’t started on it. quantum’s due tomorrow too and i haven’t started on that either. but we hung out and talked for like an hour from 4 to 5. after that i got settled back in and worked on grading until after 7:30.
at some point i sent an email out to my professors and supervisor at danielle’s request. i’d asked her for help with communicating to my professors that i am really not feeling good and haven’t been for several days and i just haven’t gotten around to doing the homework. she said to email them and cc her so they could ask her questions if needed. so i did that.
i finished another section... i have finished 6, and have 3 left. harrison and suzanne have said that grading this last one is a nightmare but so few people finish that you can kinda just not worry about the last page or two. so that’ll cut down my grading time at least. and i already have a rubric made.
the last 45 minutes i spent entering my grades into the database. so even if i haven’t finished ALL my work, i have my grade book on the school network up to date with attendance and elearning quiz scores and the 2 labs that i’ve finished grading. so all that’s left for the midterm scores is that last lab. that’s like 3/4 of the things i needed to have uploaded by the end of today... right?
as i was packing up to leave for the evening at 7:40 because i was too exhausted to continue, rebika came into my office looking for something on jennica’s desk.
i’ve been working in my office instead of suzanne’s the last few days. it’s quieter and cooler so i can wear my sweater. the other office is really warm because it’s crowded most of the time and also because luis is running like three computers at once.
she asked if i finished the classical. i said no. she asked if i had finished the quantum due tomorrow. i got irritated and said no because i’ve been grading for five thousand years.
“what the f is wrong with you?” she asked. i didn’t look at her and i didn’t answer.
i mean like, she didn’t literally say “f” she said the full word. i just don’t feel like typing it out.
she started talking again at some point but i wasn’t listening. i biked home and made tempeh tacos and they were super good and i figured out how to get the tempeh the way i like it again.
then it was 8:45 so i just... i don’t know. talked with an internet friend i guess. watched some youtube videos. not sure how i passed an hour actually. oh, i cleaned snoopy’s litter box, that took a few minutes. taking a break doesn’t seem to be helping me feel any better. maybe a solid meal will help me feel better in the morning. i certainly feel full for like the first time in a week... i’m sad that i couldn’t hit that deadline. i won’t have much time to work on it tomorrow, unless like, i skip e&m, which, i can’t guarantee that i am dropping it yet. so skipping would be bad. but if i do end up dropping it i’m mostly just wasting my time right now going to a class i can’t pass anyway.
stuck.
i’m still having trouble concentrating and processing things that are happening around me. like i literally can’t focus any more even though i still need to keep going. biking is kinda rough like this. my attention to my surroundings limping along with giant holes in my peripheral vision and ability to register sounds.
it’s probably not as bad as i’m making it sound. i got home fine. i’m just not quite sure how, now that i am home.
i can feel myself getting sick. like a mild cold, but still not something i want to deal with. harrison seemed to think it might be allergies, and it could easily just be the sudden change in weather since the cold front blew in. but also, working 9-10 hours a day every day with no breaks is wearing down my gears. like i take breaks, and i try to eat healthy and get enough sleep and shower and take care of myself, but it’s just, it’s too much. the only fun thing i did only for me and only because i wanted to enjoy it was taking a bike ride out to gamestop on saturday to get the event pokemon. even playing smash with my classmates is like, with the intention of calming down for a scheduled 50 minutes so i can get back to work immediately.
i try to do something like that once a week. going to poker night. riding out to gamestop, or the book convention. but it’s only a few hours out of the week. the rest of it i’m working on finances or restocking my apartment in order to live or doing homework hour after hour after hour. i would like just a day off with nothing to do except hang out with friends and do what i feel like. maybe listen to an episode of taz for the first time in a month and a half. i heard the new arc is good. but i don’t have ANY time to sit and listen to a 90-minute podcast.
maybe even... two days off? is that too much? that seems like too much. i feel like i’d get bored. even though i have like 25 tv shows i’d like to watch, and a short story i haven’t gotten to touch in a month, and stuff to do around town with my friends that we just haven’t been able to get to. hang out by the lake! go for a hike! i dunno, spend some time outside! it’s nice out!!
anyway my writing time is up. i will try not to stay up for an extra 45 minutes tonight. wish me luck i guess.
my classmates have started trying to cheer me up when they see me. i appreciate the gesture... i told them that even i just don’t know what would cheer me up though.

Hex Girls: Part 3
"Don't be afraid of the dark, the dark is nothing to fear."
The girl seemed shy and scared at best but Aaron decided to ignore that and move in to grasp her hand with a warm smile. Her red lipstick stretched with her lips. Widening her hues slightly as she felt the change in temperature. She pulled it off cool with a flip of her hair from her free hand. The blonde pushed herself up from the mossy ground. Aaron swallowed, "Your family?" She questioned peeking at the head stone behind her. It read Norris than she turned her head toward the one across from them. Which read Gilbert, she c*cked her eyebrow twisting around to look at Elena. "Elena....Norris, no no you even LOOK like a Gilbert." Aaron stumbled over her words. Realizing what she had just done. Over looked the pain of her family's death in order to make a joke.
Aaron politely apologized, leaning against the angel sculpture. The blonde managed to pull a small smile upon her plum red lips. "How did they die?" Her hand pointed toward the Gilbert grave. "You don't have to tell me. I just ask because I lost my parents too." Aaron bit her lower lip almost hard enough to bring blood. "They left us, all alone." She mumbled. "I don't miss my dad much." She continued pressing her lips firmly together wiggling her lips attempting to keep the burning from her eyes, the tears to fall. She refused it. "My mom is a different story." It almost began to feel hot in the area that Aaron was standing. "...not this." She mumbled, another blackout.....
The smell of burnt hair nothing Aaron ever liked, and fabric, leather was even worse. The blonde's eyes opened to the heat the orange flames. "Momma!" Her voice cracked calling for the woman. "Mom." She coughed her lungs filling with smoke yet again. It was like a nightmare, it still was. Burned into her mind. Aaron's weak frame stood up from the bed grabbing the door handle. She quickly jumped back rubbing her now red hot hand. The blonde raced to the window, trying to unlatch it. She noticed someone watching the fire. Aaron's hair stood up on the back of her neck. "Dear god, what is happening?" Her tiny fingers fiddled with the latch until she noticed the floor beginning to burn in her room Aaron grabbed the lamp that had set on her night stand since she turned 13 slamming it into the window. The glass flying everywhere. Aaron knocked what she could out with the lamp shade. Slowly slide out onto the roof of the house. Her eyes began to shut, her lungs felt like sand paper. "Mommy." She whispered as her eyes fell closed, passing out from the smoke and heat.
"And when I woke up all these really hot firemen were all around me. I was in the grass and well my parents were all burned up, gone, dead...poof. It was like they never existed, actually it was like I didn't either. Course all my stuff burned up and my house back in Tennessee was empty since we were in the process of moving to New Orleans." Aaron went on, slowly twirling a piece of her short blonde hair. The black blended nicely with her golden locks almost as if they represented her singed hair, or the black spots inside her soul. Even her mind had blackness, holes where she couldn't remember things or just things she blocked out. Aaron Blackburn was a mystery, not just to others but to herself. "Yeah I used to have longggggg long long hair like down to my ass but it got burnt so I'm stuck with this....nightmare, although I kinda like it. What do you think?" Aaron done a little spin with a laugh stopping on her flat feet she felt like a fairy with her hair cut, just like Tinkerbell.
Aaron wasn't actually sure why but she felt compelled to tell this girl her story, her life, the ups and downs she had faced since her parents kicked the bucket. She went on about her uncle Eric and the mental ward. She left out everything involving Damon and Kai for some reason she felt like it would of been a bad idea. The blonde smiled a real smile for the very first time in a while as she tilted her head toward the book in the brunette's hand. "Are you a writer?" Aaron's crimson lips slipped into a half grin. "I write a little too...mostly lyrics or poems." She explained. A creek from the gate nearly made Aaron jump out of her skin. She took a deep breath. "You-whooooo Aaron." A male's voice called.
The blonde groaned, "I have to go but you'll be here tomorrow right? I've got something to give you." She grinned dashing off toward the sound of a familiar voice,...not just one too Aaron but to Elena. "Where's my piece of pie girly?" Kai's lips curled up to see his white teeth as he laughed. Aaron huffed, twisting past him and the iron gate. His hand grasped the back of her shirt. "Did you get any new information for me today?" She swatted at his hand, "Noooo...have you figured out the spell to bring my mother back?" He just smiled that sick psychopathic smile. Aaron shook her head with a roll of her eyes.
Kai walked Aaron home - well to her new home inside the Salvatore's boarding house. Kai Parker was a horrible person, but Aaron attempted to look past it...As she did for the male on the steps with his arms folded annoyingly toward the couple. Kai brushed his fingers over her cheek gave her wink and he was gone. "You always hang around with such sh*tty people?" Aaron rolled her eyes "sourvamp." The blonde inhaled making her way up the steps, Damon grabbed her arm. "I mean it Aaron the dude is bad news." She nodded. "Okay. Can I go now daddy?" She teased he let her go, but not before giving her one of his constipated looking faces. Damon always looked horrible when he was mad. Aaron avoided him, and went straight to her room.
The room Damon provided for her was small but big enough for a girl her age. The blonde plopped down on her bed, reaching under the mattress for her journal. Stefan had so kindly given to her. She flipped the page to a blank one slipping the pen from the slot in the spine of the book. She began to write:
"I don't even really know who I can trust anymore. I know Damon has his own motives for keeping me around, but so does Kai. So where do I really belong? It's like I'm lost in a corn maze endlessly looking for a way out. Which in this game the only way out is death, and I've already tried that....once." Aaron bit her pen chewing on the cap a little. "I met this girl she seems a lot like me, actually. Has no family hangs out in graveyards...sounds alot like me actually." Aaron smirked,"she's pretty too, I just have this funny feeling when she touched me. Like she wasn't really there but she was I touched her. I guess things aren't always what they same. Huh?"
The blonde shut the book tucking it under her mattress. Stripping off each piece of clothing until she was in just pink panties, she snatched the men's T-shirt hanging from the bed's headboard and slipped that over her head. Resting her head into the pillow she fell into a deep slumber.
Aaron didn't go back to the graveyard until late the next night. The fog had already begun to make the creepy area more spooky than it had been the previous night. "Elena?!" Aaron shouted slipping through the iron gate. A couple of corpse peeked their decaying heads out from their resting place. "Go back to sleep guys." Aaron mumbled walking past them invitation in hand for Aaron's graduation party. "Elena!" The blonde walked toward the Gilbert grave but she was no where to be found. The blonde sighed, resting her hand on top of the gravestone......She seriously wish she hadn't. Elena had died, almost. But her parents drowned Aaron saw it all. "Two girls, fire and water. How ironic."
"What is in the darkness is a completely different story."
