I am really tired of the discourse already, but there is one thing I need to get off my chest:

There is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone who finds catharsis in the darker Astarion ending, no matter what loud voices online want to make you believe.

You are not wrong or immoral or in any way a bad person for using this narrative in a game exactly the way it is meant to-as an outlet for things that are rarely an option or maybe even undesirable in real life. You are not wrong for finding peace in revenge. This is a story, it is supposed to evoke strong emotions, and the virtual reality of a video game is a wonderful outlet because it has no consequences for anyone else, ever.

And finding joy/healing/relief in the thought of turning the tables on your abuser does not make you a bad person, it makes you very human. And once more, there is nothing wrong with exploring that via media. In fact, that is probably one of the healthiest ways to engage with these feelings.

So embrace what you're feeling, and please know that it says nothing about your actual morals or what kind of person you are, no matter what others want to make you think. Everyone deals with trauma differently, and it's not always pretty, and that is completely ok!

Sometimes I wonder how people I've been mutuals with since I joined this site but haven't spoken to in years think about the Axl Low shift. okay, FINE, I will catch up on the Fontaine Archon Quest in Genshin.

(so there are, like, a dozen gmvs for Genshin to the song Gods and they are all FIRE??? Literally the perfect song for the game.)

#I stopped in the Fortress of Meropide because I kept getting lost #also because NaNo and no time to play catchup #I have avoided spoilers successfully can you believe it?#well okay fine not really because I have Neuvillette #BUT OTHER THAN HIS SPOILERS I have avoided story spoilers #and I need to do character quests too URG #I love this game I really really do #but I started playing from day 1 #and I will tell you that 1.0 update had like 1-2 hours of new content #I cringe now because each update has 8+ hours of new content and I cannot make myself do that #I am currently not streaming my playthrough because my computer is sucky now #please I was trapped for like 3+ hours in the courthouse when I last played seriously #FUCKING TRAPPED I COULDN'T STOP PLAYING BECAUSE THE QUEST WON'T LET ME LEAVE #so now I cringe at the idea of continuing the quest because I don't know if I wanna play 3+ hours at a time anymore #but I really need to catch up #so I will. this week. somehow.

I needed to kill some time while my test prints ran today so I went into the "for you" tab on Twitter and discovered the most dystopian hellscape known to man. The only post there that didn't do tick damage to my wellbeing was a drawing of some buff anime guy with tasteful dickroot showing. Awful, awful website

Printer's almost calibrated #Need to plug some numbers into the esteps formula since I wasn't able to brute force it lol #Think there's something wacky going on with the flow rate too but that's on the gcode end so I didn't mess with it today #The filament's got some gnarly stringing going on. Unfortunate but fixable. At least I got the bed extremely calibrated lmfao #The new mainboard works like a dream... The Z-axis doesn't jerk when it first starts moving anymore and the X & Y movements are like silk #Once I fix the stringing issue it will almost certainly be ready for doing big prints like Outrage pieces
