there is not enough 92sies sprace. i know what you all are doing. 92sies fans did not get on their knees and pick up crumbs to ship spot and race for the rest of us to run off with it and apply it to livesies where not only do they not even directly interact, but fanon prefers because they find the actors more attractive, and then proceed to boil their characters down to 1-2 traits each and ship them in a weird almost f/tishy "dumb feminine man x angry masculine man" way. guys this is a class war not the yaoi war.
#& dont get me wrong NOT all sprace content is like this. it's just Enough#i know this is gonna be controversial but as much as i love sprace ive finally realized why a lot of the fan content doesnt appeal to me#or is just straight up uncomfortable#and it kind of goes with the sexification of funny characters in general which race has fallen victim to#in which ppl remove their depth; give them more sex appeal; and add a pinch of frat boy to the mixture#to make this unhinged sexful comic relief#now im just as in love with btc as the rest of yall but race fell victim to this because he was in the proshot and ppl were attracted 2 him#which is fine#BUT leads to a lot of like.#misinterpretation of his character or just heavily exaggerating certain aspects that made him initially attractive to ppl#which then ends up consuming fanon like a poisoned water supply#it's kinda a variation of sexymanification. fanon making a character stereotypically queer but in a way that is attractive and consumable#and completely overtakes canon aspects of the character. it is not inherently f*tishy but it can definitely acquire those vibes#source: kuroo tetsurou warrior who survived 2016 era haikyuu fandom#92sies sprace is a funny rarepair while livesies sprace is like when the bbc sherlock fandom shipped lestrade and mycroft for no reason#but with the vibes of the ppl who Made Up A Man to ship moriarty with. does that make sense.#the never-interacted rarepair mixed with the yaoiful (derogatory) vibes of 'if this man has no one to ship with i'll just make one myself'#and again i dont think all (livesies) sprace content falls victim to this nor do all people Intend to characterize them this way#i can totally get Not realizing you're portraying them this way until someone points it out#and i couldnt even articulate why i didn't like a lot of sprace content until i saw some passing mentions of this like. An Hour ago#newsies#sprace#dontlistento me

Okay, now that I can collect my thoughts, I can now express how my experience of going to see Tears for Fears live was.
I saw them on Friday. It was my first concert that I actually wanted to go to and it was one hell of a show. I went with my dad whomstve got hooked on the new album because he played the CD in his car nonstop the week before. We were listening to it on the ride to the concert.
First, I should mention that I got the VIP pass where you can go see sound check before the actual concert. But it got delayed for some reason so the group we were with were baking in the hot sun until they called us into the amphitheater. In that time, I met some interesting people who followed the band around the country. There were two older women who were diehard fans. Another woman wore a vest that was comprised of little cards portraying the Songs From the Big chair album cover. She was very quirky but in a fun way. I was chatting with a couple of them and they all seemed impressed that I had so much knowledge of their discography, since I was one of the youngest fans there it seemed. From the Hurting, all the way up to The Tipping Point. The herd of people lost their way and ended up going into a small alleyway while the security was wondering what the hell they were doing. Very strange moment. So we go and find a seat and they were already playing. They advertised on the website that they'd play 2 songs but they really played 4. Long Long Long Time, Break the Man and Everybody Wants to Rule the World and to my extreme surprise and delight, Ladybird. A song they hadn't played live since 2004 when Everybody Loves a Happy Ending was a fresh album. Roland only played portions of it, with a different, more acoustic flare to it. It almost brought tears to my eyes. One guy shouted "Call me Mellow." Wrong song buddy. Fake fan alert!
So after that was done we pretty much waited around, bought some merch. I got a long sleeve golden sun shirt and an album cover shirt and a poster that I threw in my album cover tote bag. We ate overly expensive junk food until it was time to see the show where Garbage opened. From what I heard of their music, I wasn't really a fan of them. But after seeing them live and how they performed and how awesome Shirley Manson is, now I really like them. They went so heavy. She kicked ass that night! We also sang Happy Birthday to Curt!
After that about a 20 minutes before TFF came on, they played over the speakers the whole cover album of Songs from The Big chair by BrotherTiger, which if you haven't heard should totally check him out. That was cool until I looked down and realized that my feet and tote bag were soaked with beer from someone behind me. The true concert experience. Then some middle aged guy with long hair took his seat next time mine, complaining my hair was too long. I said right back at ya buddy. He kinda looked like me in 40 years. Hopefully not.
Finally Tears for Fears took to the stage and started playing their set. I sang every goddamn word throughout the entire concert, my throat was on the verge of dying by the end of it. During Everybody, I ended up dancing with that girl with the vest from earlier. Right after that, we'd sung Happy Birthday to "That guy from Tears for Fears." again, but with more feeling! During Break it Down Again, during the salute, Roland yelled to the people in front of me "Get off you're fucking phones!" Then returns hippie man and ends up knocking over my tote bag into the beer puddle, ruining the poster I just bought. Some of the other paper things survived but the smell of beer filled my car on the way home. Fun times overall.
The last thing to note that I'm both laughing at and pissed off about. When it came time for the last song, Shout. There was always a chance that Roland would pass the microphone to the audience to sing the chorus. I was in second row, but he passed the microphone to the people right in goddamn front of me! Like he was RIGHT THERE! I tried to reach over to at least try to get my voice to be heard, but I was just too far away. That would have absolutely made my night to be so perfect. Ughh!!!
So yeah, TLDR absolutely loved loved loved it. I would totally see them again.

Can you tell us more about your Dragato and Falspar dynamic :0?
oh you poor soul, of course I will :)
(rambling under keep reading)
So, to begin! A lot of this will make the most sense if you read dumb luck first, the Dragato oneshot (also a part of the Heart and Soul timeline, just set in the past before MK was separated from the GSA) I wrote that dives much further into my interpretations of this borb and his idiot friend that have a grand total of 10 second of screen time. If you're caught up on In Your Dreams, then you'll have a vague idea of Dragato and Falspar's characters, but neither have had a chance for their personalities to really shine (they're also both... kinda upset too, so only one side of them has been shown)! You’ll even catch a glimpse of other GSA members (cough cough Jecra and Garlude cough cough) if you give “dumb luck” a look :0!
That said, I’ll still summarize what I can of Dragato and Falspar’s personalities and dynamic here! So, Dragato--outwardly, he appears very stict, very cold, and very no-nonsense. He glowers a lot, he’ll snap at those who spread around rumors and try to start fights, and he tries hard to keep the peace, even if it’s strained and you can tell things are two seconds from exploding into all-out chaos.
To quote my own fic, “he’s the unofficial mediator of the GSA—he’s the one who listens to complaints and makes the changes needed to keep them in check, the one who kills off rumors that take on a malicious edge, the one who breaks up fights that go too far—and he has no idea if anyone ever even seems to realize it. Afterall, his technical role is only that of a pilot and an instructor. One of Arthur’s close confidantes. His domain is starships and space travel.”
Basically, he does plenty of work from behind the scenes, and he overworks himself a lot. He shares a lot of similarities to Meta Knight, but while MK can and will push himself to the brink and somehow just keep going anyway--Dragato will pass out from the strain, even if he argues otherwise. He has a lot of grievances with what his nature as a star warrior demands of him, and what he’s actually physically capable of.
Important sidenote! *In the H&S series, star warriors are born as star warriors, it’s in their nature! You cannot become one (at least not through normal means) you simply are or you aren’t.* However--Dragato’s true personality is very different from what he purposely portrays to 90% of the GSA and for what has been shown in IYD. First and foremost, on the inside, he’s complete nerd and an honorary idiot in disguise. He has sass, he has attitude, and he wants nothing more than to show someone how capable he is by challenging them to a brawl at 2am and going absolute feral. Even though he’s constantly trying to put out fights and mediate, he’s a conflict gremlin and he absolutely wants to do nothing more than join in and start tearing things apart alongside everyone else. You might notice in dumb luck that he gets an evil little grin right before charging into a fight, too, and that he despises that.
Once more I’ll steal a line from my fic, “he doesn’t crave bloodshed, but he revels in knowing that he can protect something.” Dragato cares way way too much (in a good way) for everyone in the GSA, and he’ll lay down his life for each of them any day. To him, the most important thing in any situation is that everyone makes it out alive (is his stand-point in IYD starting to make a little more sense :)?) and as you might imagine, constantly fighting with his personality and his nature to act like something he’s not 24/7 makes him very irritable and prone to spiraling over little things when he’s stressed. Star warriors are supposed to fight until their last breath, and Dragato has spent years in the GSA balancing that deep-seated need alongside the constant pressure he put on himself to maintain peace. Fun times.
Does he every actually relax? How is he possibly still sane? Well--enter Falspar: the redeemable idiot.
Falspar is, well, a redeemable idiot. He says stupid things, he does stupid things, he can be incredibly obvious, but he has a heart of gold beneath it all and you won’t find anyone who’s more stupidly loyal as friend. He wants to cheer others up and he’ll do increasingly impulsive things to do it. He’s the social one, he’s friendly, but beware, he knows how to fight and he won’t always just sit there and take it. Also, he has a knack for getting out of tricky situations by complete and utter dumb luck. Yes this relevant to the fic title.
(Another sidenote--this has not been mentioned in IYD and only lightly touched on in dumb luck, but physically, Falspar is incredibly strong. He has a form of high natural strength, which is kinda how he managed to break a mask visor with in a single punch, and he can lift heavy stuff somewhat easily. I straight up yoinked this idea from somewhere in the anime where they call him “the strong one” (possibly in sub of the snack attack episode maybe? I’m not entirely sure it’s been a while) but yeah. If he punched you it would hurt. It would probably break something and then some. Because of this, he also has to keep a close grip on how much strength he puts behind each of his actions, which has the potential to spawn its own kind of trouble)
Falspar and Dragato have been friends for quite a while, Falspar most often addresses him by the nickname “Drago”, and Falspar was there to witness Dragato change from minor troublemaker and local star warrior menace to the overworked pilot instuctor and strict mediator he is now. He knows about how much of a nerd Dragato, is as well as how hard he’s constantly pushing himself to keep up a front--and to Dragato, that’s a lifeline to find comfort in.
The two of them still clash over plenty of little things; Falspar tends to say pretty stupid stuff (some things that are just flat out nonsense arguments or that contradict each other) and Dragato, who’s stuck being constantly irritable almost all the time, tends to react to it all the same--but! They admit when they’re wrong at the end of the day, and they apologize, especially when they know they’ve messed up bad and that it’s hurt the other. “dumb luck” provides a prime example.
Falspar gets Dragato to open up and admit he needs a break every once in a while, and Dragato tends to defend Falspar in the bad situations he gets himself easily wound up in. They work well as a team once they get past any nonsense disagreements, and though it’s not explicitly stated in “dumb luck”, Dragato tends to meet with Falspar on random nights to de-stress and ramble on about one thing or another. They talk, they do little things for each other to make life just a bit easier, and they stick together. They’re close friends who are also idiots that roughhouse and call each other names all the time, but they care.
As a little bonus, I’ll go on to talk about how they are both currently doing in In Your Dreams, too.
It’s not great :)
As you might recall, Falspar was the one to first suggest the rumor of MK secretly being corrupted. Yep. That’s what started this. Now, Falspar is oblivious and does stupid things that he really shouldn’t all the time. That includes telling the overly-paranoid commander of the GSA who just won a war mere weeks ago something that coincidentally is very plausible because MK did a lot of things that could be marked as suspicious in the past and no one has seen him face to face in 10 years. Arthur is certainly still to blame for taking that idea and running with it, but Falspar also is not helping the situation by shrugging his shoulders and going “yeah MK is ambitions enough to do something like this” and then going about his day like that’s no big deal.
Dragato on the other hand, is immediately distrustful of rumors to begin with. He didn’t take this news well. He wants solid evidence before he believes an accusation as harsh as MK (someone he thought was dead for a long time after the GSA was separated in the past and is secretly greatly relieved to learn isn't) could be a traitor, though he’s kept his mouth shut, and he’s been going through it now that the war is finally over.
Dragato cared very strongly for those in the GSA and reaching their goal--he would have die for them and their cause--and now they’ve actually achieved it, but only a mere fraction of the entire GSA remains. He’s sick of losing people. He’s sick of hearing about Nightmare. Honestly, he really needs a break, and he knows that if MK is labeled a traitor with the potential to bring ruin to the galaxy again, then Arthur will stop at nothing to make sure that threat is destroyed for the greater good.
Dragato feels like he’s the only one who still has faith in MK, aside from Sirica and Knuckle Joe, his only consolations, and he refuses to condemn him without blatant proof saying otherwise. The most important thing right now is that MK is alive. The most important thing is that he doesn’t turn his back on that.
Falspar is very contradictory in Ch23 when he argues that “MK would totally do this, but he totally wouldn’t lie about it.” Basically, he's doing a terrible job of saying “this is believable and really incriminating but I still have faith that MK is doing what’s best.” He wants to acknowledge the worst, but deep down, he doesn’t really think MK is trying to do anything that would put the galaxy at stake. He won't go against Arthur so easily, but he’s in a gray area between distrusting MK and still believing in him, and he bounces around it at random.
Where does that put them both? well:
“That’s just your innate ability to test everyone’s patience,” Dragato muttered under his breath, still focused on the controls.
“Ay, what’s your problem today?” Falspar edged back, turning a bit snappish. “What’s gotten you so hung up over this ‘delusional’ myth?”
Unfortunately, when Dragato is very stressed and snaps at Falspar, Falspar’s first instinct is almost always to snap back, for better or for worse. They break into fights easily--and right now is a bad time to be fighting. There’s no time to resolving anything, and they’re seemingly on opposite sides.
Falspar wants to support Dragato, but he thinks Dragato isn’t seeing the fact that no matter what, there’s still a chance MK could be corrupted, and they need to be prepared to accept that. He knows Dragato takes losing people badly, and he sees it as cushioning the blow ahead of time.
Dragato sees it as a betrayal of trust, and no matter how much he doesn’t want to be at odds with Falspar and the others and that despises in-fighting, he’ll chose the option that he believes will keep everyone alive until the end.
WOW that was long, well, hope that gave some insight! Thank you thank you for the ask anon, hope you all enjoyed my rambles <3

This story is actually one I wrote--or at least TRIED to write as I didn't finish it--many years ago on my old Wattpad acc (I have a new one now). As such, I'm taking the basic plotline from the original idea I had and simply making it a bit better especially now that I'm older + more mature (pfft yeah sure "mAtUrE" xD).
I sincerely and deeply love ALL of the amazing bachelors on RF 4 and as someone who absolutely ✨A D O R E S✨ reverse harems, I really *personally* don't think that Frey has to choose! And so, here's a naughty + sweet story that'll kinda just delve into my--and I'm sure others'--fantasy ;)
I hope ya lovelies will enjoy this story series and your wonderful support is always very much appreciated! 🥺💕💕 Also, feel free to fangirl/fanboy with me anytime~
P.S. Please forgive mah pathetic ass in advance if I ever portray any of the characters wrong, I promise to do my best!!

Summer 1, the dawn of a sweltering season. But most of all...
Beach Day!
Ah, yes, a most wonderful holiday to take a dip in the refreshing water and don the most attractive swimsuits that perfectly hugged one's form! And while it was understandable for the gentlemen to gawk and admire the lovely ladies, it seemed that all the bachelors of Selphia were completely ensnared by one warrior princess in particular...
Frey's tinkly laughter carried in the air as she happily swam around in the lake with the other girls. It was certainly a gorgeous day, yet none could quite rival the turquoise haired beauty's radiant smile.
"Haa... The princess is SO beautiful~" Vishnal sighed dreamily, his violet eyes turning into hearts.
"A goddess among mere mortals!" Kiel piped up cutely.
"You guys are so lame! But, uh... Y-Yeah, I agree, I guess." Doug conceded, face flushing as scarlet as his hair.
"I am a man, after all. Therefore, I must say I agree as well." Arthur cleared his throat, propping his glasses.
"You are all perverts..." Dylas grumbled, though he couldn't help but shyly sneak a peek at Frey.
"My, my~ You're such a bad liar, horsie. Calling us perverts when you, yourself, are one~" Leon chuckled, smirking.
"Who're ya calling horsie?!" Dylas snapped, but couldn't start an argument when all of them heard a splash and saw Frey emerge onto shore.
"Princess!" Vishnal beamed, not wasting a single second as he dashed towards her with a towel much like an excited puppy. "Are you done swimming?"
Frey gratefully took the towel, wiping her drenching body with it. "Yes, I am! And once I change into my clothes, I'm going to be checking the requests."
"You're ever so diligent, Frey. I truly admire that about you." Arthur smiled as he and the rest of the boys approached their beloved girlfriend. Arthur's glasses then flashed as the sun reflected on them, and he quickly grabbed that splendid opportunity for his gaze to drop and hyperfocus on Frey's nearly naked body. He barely managed to suppress it as he almost shamelessly licked his lips, fully taking in and very much appreciating her wet and fit physique.
"Oh, it's nothing! I'm only doing my duties." Frey giggled, embarrassed as her cheeks tinted pink. "But other than that, how come you guys aren't in your swimsuits? It's boiling!" She frowned worriedly.
"Why, is milady that eager to see me in all my glory?" Leon purred, standing in front of her in a flash. His teal eyes sparkled mischievously, as one of his hands reached forward to run his fingers through her long hair. "If you want to see me that badly, I'd rather 'perform' a private show for you tonight~"
Frey became as red as a ruby, opening and closing her mouth repeatedly like a fish out of water. She tried to speak, but no words came out as she could only stare up with eyes as wide as dinner plates at an amused Leon who was enjoying this situation far too much.
"Oi, knock it off!" Dylas growled, wrapping a protective arm around Frey as he glared sharply at Leon. "She's gonna go fishing with me after she's done, anyways!"
"WHAT?! No fair, you can't hog her all to yourself! If you guys are going fishing then I'm going, too!" Doug huffed, snatching Frey away from Dylas.
"No way, you dumbass dwarf! You're not invited!"
"Well, I am now, you fucking nag!"
As the two handsome idiots bickered like an old married couple and fought over Frey, she could only release an exasperated sigh. Honestly, she loved them both, but there was really no use trying to talk any sense into them. The best anyone could do was just wait it out until they inevitably get tired.
But as Doug and Dylas were yanking Frey from one side to another like a ragdoll, they suddenly stopped. It seems that everyone else halted, too, and the air blew bitter cold. Frey, oblivious, could only raise a brow before she finally realized--or more like felt--what all the boys were staring at.
She looked down, Doug and Dylas' hands accidentally cupping each one of Frey's breasts. All of the boys were a thousand shades of crimson, and Vishnal even started to have a nosebleed.
"ACK! S-Sorry..!" Doug and Dylas exclaimed in unison, abruptly pulling their hands away as if they were burned.
"O-Oh, uh, it's f-fine..!" Frey stuttered, not being able to meet anyone's gaze. "I-It was just an accident, after all!"
"Are you sure you're alright, Frey?" Kiel asked, holding her hands into his gently as he studied her face in concern. "These lowlifes didn't hurt you, did they?" It was rare for Kiel to be angry let alone badmouthing anyone, but it was clear from his tone how upset he was. Honestly, Doug and Dylas were a little scared...
"Y-Yes, I'm alright!" Frey nodded vigorously, smiling brightly. "Seriously, guys, don't worry about me! I'll see you all later, okay?" She hurriedly gave each one of them a chaste peck on the cheek before making her way back to the castle.
"So..." Leon began, a fake smile plastered on his lips as his eyes held no emotion. "I wonder who the true perverts are now?"
"H-Hey, it was an accident! Besides, it's all this moron's fault!" Dylas retorted, pointing an accusatory finger at Doug.
"MY fault?! If you just invited me in the first place, none of this would've happened!" Doug shouted furiously.
"You guys...touched...the princess' b-b-breasts..." Vishnal muttered, totally lost in his own world as he was slowly deteriorating from existence.
"Oh, my..." Arthur let out a heavy exhale. "I'm sure you two already know this, but as soon as Frey is done with her tasks then you both must apologize to her again. Accident or not, it is completely unacceptable for a man to touch a woman without her consent."
"Hey, y'know, I've been wondering..." Kiel cut in. "Do you guys ever think if Frey is just being strung along by us?"
"What do you mean?" Doug frowned.
"Like, didn't we confess to Frey at different times? And at every confession, she rejected all of us. And later on, it was only then we found out that we all shared the same feelings for her."
"So, what's your point?" Dylas pressed.
Kiel sighed, staring pointedly at the taller man. "Don't you find it a bit weird that now, we're all in a relationship with her? I know that being in a polyamorous relationship with Frey was something we all consented on from the very beginning, but why the sudden change of heart?"
"Isn't it obvious? Being in a polyamorous relationship means that Frey likes all of us at the same time, which is fine. Maybe she was just too shy at first to admit it." Leon shrugged.
"That may be true, or...what if she's only with us out of pity?" A wave of realization washed through everyone, and a certain pang of sadness settled in their hearts. "Frey is such a nice person, it's possible she only agreed to be with us since she felt bad for rejecting us. And now, she doesn't know how to break up with us for fear of hurting us even more."
"There's also one other possibility..." Arthur spoke up. "What if she actually likes one of us, but can't exclusively date that person?"
Dead silence. Only the faint sounds of the lake thrashing and birds chirping, before Vishnal was the one who first woke up back to reality.
"So... What are we supposed to do?" He questioned softly. "I feel so terrible... If what you're saying is true, then I don't want to continue on like this. I love Frey, but I can't ever bear the thought of hurting her!"
"How about a game?" Leon suggested.
"Now's really not the time, foxy." Doug rolled his eyes.
"No, no. You've misunderstood." Leon shook his head. "I'm talking about a game to see who Frey truly likes or doesn't like. And that way, we won't have to be hurting her and suffering like this anymore."
"Hmm... An interesting proposition." Arthur hummed thoughtfully. "I don't quite like referring to this as a 'game', but colour me intrigued. What's your idea, then?"
"Alright. So, we each get one whole day to spend with Frey. Completely alone, and no one is allowed to bother anyone else. As long as Frey is okay with it, then we can do whatever we want with her. Going on dates, exploring...you get the idea. Finally, by the end of the week, we'll all ask her how she feels and who she had the most fun with. Her answer will then determine what will happen afterwards."
"Hmph. Okay, that sounds good." Dylas nodded, agreeing for once. "How can we settle who goes first and last, though?"
"I think it would only be fair if we go in the order that Frey met us. So it's Vishnal, me, Doug, Arthur, Dylas, and then Leon." Kiel offered.
"All in favour?" Arthur asked, and everyone collectively voiced out their approval. "Good. It's settled, then. May the best man win!"
"Speaking of, I forgot that the castle is undergoing construction! So please excuse me, I'll have to get going now!" Vishnal grinned, disappearing in a blink of an eye.
"Wait... I just visited Ventuswill earlier with Granny Blossom." Doug furrowed his brows before gasping. "That bastard..! He went to go have a headstart with Frey!" He immediately chased after the conniving butler, but not before his shoulder got bumped hard by Dylas.
"If anyone's gonna get a headstart, it's me!"
"Oh, shut the hell up, HORSIE!"
Arthur sighed deeply, rubbing his temples stressfully as Kiel only chuckled sheepishly. Leon simply watched the scene, his fan hiding his smirk.
'There is a saying: Save the best for last~' Leon thought satisfyingly to himself.

Simple joy
Hi!! This my first exo fic!! It's a little angsty but still very fluffy, enjoy :)
Kyungsoo x reader
Kyungsoo may not seem like a simple man at first, maybe being a member of one of the most famous boy groups nowadays didn't exactly help with portraying him that way, but however unlikely that someone in his position would enjoy such peaceful things as cooking, soft sweaters and even have owning a farm as a second option for career (only second to being an world-wide famous singer and actor of course) there he was.
Of course he wasn't totally different from his peers, he did enjoy to fool around with the goofs he was lucky enough to call members, it's just that sometimes, when his members would likely be gaming, still immersed on making music or any other likely agitated activity he just likes the more quiet ways to spend time.
His favourite way of passing time was for sure food, just everything about it, from the buying of the ingredients to the tasting of the meal, cooking was just such an fascinating field and as much as he knew a lot about this activity there seemed to always be more to know.
So there he was, in this little bakery not too far from the dorms, his latest little culinary adventure was centered around desserts, a topic he at first had very little interest in. Not because it wasn't as complex of a field, very much every part of cooking is both complex and fascinating to him, he just never had that much of a sweet tooth.
Now that he's in this cute little spot, one that was so close to him all this time as well, he regrets not having explored this earlier.
He regrets it even more after he sees you.
When you politely ask if he's ready to place his order, with the sweetest smile on your face, Kyungsoo knows he'll have to come here again, and again.
It definatly helped that the deserts were amazing.
So for about a month Kyungsoo found himself coming to the cutely colored place at every opportunity, always asking for a new item of the menu and trying to convince himself that he was going there because of the deserts and not the cutie behind the counter.
All tough he might have convinced himself of his pure motives, his members knew him best and soon began to catch up on his little crush.
The first member to realise was Suho, the leader had asked for a recommendation on where to order a cake and found it odd for Kyungsoo to have answered his question so fast when he had never seemed to take big interest in cakes before.
So, after Suho sharing the strange happening to the rest of the group and Baekhyun connecting the dots that the bakery must be where Kyungsoo has been spending so much of time and money lately, even further confirmed by an inspection of the place, the clear conclusion after seeing you being that Kyungsoo had a crush.
And a big one at that.
So for the next few days after the members came to such conclusions about his life, Kyungsoo hadn't been able to go back and visit you... I mean... The bakery, he hadn't been able to eat all those sweet treats (...and see your cute smiles...) as the members all been either trying to convince him to confess to you or trying to come to the place with him, both options very bad in Kyungsoos eyes.
It wasn't that he thought he wasn't enough for you, he was not afraid of rejection, it was a part of life, after all the things he had done in his life it wasn't as if he couldn't handle it, it was if you did like him back that was the issue.
Kyungsoo is an idol, a major boy group idol, an international singer and actor, dating just didn't quite match with that in his eyes.
You were not an idol, you were not famous at all, just managing a bakery, a cute little bakery, that was your job... How could he step in and ruin that for you?
Dating an idol was not simple, it just wasn't, it was complicated, difficult and bringing someone normal to that, someone who was living such a peaceful and quiet life at that, he just coudn't do it.
The way you smiled so sweetly at him, told him excitedly about the new recipies you were trying out or talked about some weird encounter you had that week, that was enough for him, it had to be, to see you sad would just break his heart.
His members of course felt saddened by his explanation, saying things like 'none of that matters if you love each other' or 'love conquers all', but nothing could convince him;
"None of you have ever had a long term relationship with someone who was not famous, have you?", was what he would say to them, shutting down all arguments and finally being able to go back to paying his peaceful little visits to you.
His members had not lost all hope though, there was no chance of getting through Kyungsoos brain, but they had not yet tried talking to you.
When you saw the three very recognisable (in spite the hats and masks) members of exo, you were surprised, after all they had not come by again after ordering a cake so you thought their opinion on your cooking must be different to your fellow regular custumer and crush Kyungsoo.
You were even more surprised when they politely asked if you could sit down and talk to them for a minute, but, seeing as the bakery was empty at the moment (also due to your curiosity), you agreed.
Now with the odd trio in front of you if was hard to guess what they might tell you, Suho, Baekhyun and Kai was not an common combination, but it came to be as it turns out Baekhyun was very invested in Kyungsoos love life, Kai was Kyungsoos self declared best friend (so he had to be there for him, of course) and Suho was just in charge of making sure nothing went wrong.
And nothing did.
After the boys began explaining the situation to you, completely glossing over the fact that Kyungsoo liked you (causing you to ask them to repeat about five minutes of conversation because of the shock), you began to comprehend the situation.
'So.. I should confess to him?'
Baekhyuns eyes lit up then already starting to get up to leave.
"Yes! See, you're so smart! I can see why Kyungsoo likes you so much. You can go get him now!"
Junmyeon also started to get up to leave, not before saying;
"Just... Hum... Explain to him you understand what you're getting in to, ok?"
"And don't back off if he rejects you at first! That's just the fear talking, he likes you, ok?"
Kai said while getting up and then pointing at some cookies in the balcony.
"Can i have eight of those? To go" , the boy added before leaving.
And so you were left with figuring out how to find the courage to confess to your wildly famous crush, simple.
Now, for a starters you decided against just 'going and getting' him, after all how would you even do that? You don't have his number or adress and you're pretty sure sm doesn't just let people in like that.
So you waited until Kyungsoo went to your shop again.
Wich took him two weeks.
He was forgiven though as soon as he walked in, with that beautiful heart smile of his, you just had to smile back.
Then came the routine, he asked what was new on the menu, you talked excidetly about the alteration you made to the red velvet cupcake recipie and he ordered one with tea.
Now you were left with just how you would approach him?
You decided to wait until he finished his meal, he always stays a little longer anyways.
But after a while of doing your chores, you heard his chair screech.
So of course you got up from your spot on the counter and half ran to him, only realizing how weird that looked like to someone who didn't knew your intentions after you saw Kyungsoos already big eyes double in size;
"Can you sit back down please? I need to talk to you about something"
You noticed his confused expression as he sat down turn in to an irritated one as he began speaking very quickly;
"They told you didn't they? Look i'm not a creep if thats whet your thinking, i don't come here just to watch you. I do watch a little cause you're very good looking and i have a bit of a crush on you but i also come here for the food, you know?"
Kyungsoo then stopped to register his first batch of words, but you interrupted him mid cooking his second one;
"I like you too"
At the first moment of your revelation his eyes filled up with surprise and joy, though that look was quickly replaced by a sad one and he beagan to speak again, this time softly;
"I... I'm glad but this... It won't work... I mean, you know i'm an idol right? I can't just date someone...It's so complicated, you'll get hurt and i...I just can't"
He started to leave the table, only stopped when you took his hand;
"Listen Kyungsoo, i know how complicated idol relationships are, ok? I'm not oblivious, i thought about this. Think, every time you come to this bakery, when we talk about recipies, things of the shop, even the weather, don't you wish for more?"
He seemed hesitant now, searching for something in your eyes, you could only hope he could see what you saw, possibility for something great.
And as he picked up a pen from his back pocket and a napkin from the table you were sure he did.
"Maybe i can cook for you? I'm not as great as you are but i'm definatly not bad either"
"I'm sure i'll enjoy anything you cook Kyungsoo"
"If you say so..."
He smiled at you for the second time today, this time with pink cheeks.
"Goodbye y/n"
"Goodbye Kyungsoo"
Then he went out the door and you were left wishing more than anything that this would work out.

(1/2) I agree with everything you say but I'm too afraid to say so myself. Especially because if you don't agree 100% with how Rey is being portrayed, folks think you're being misogynistic. I wish we could be more open to discussion. You can love a movie or a character and still don't agree with certain aspects of them. For example, yes, Kylo became Supreme Leader, but his "victory" was undermined 5 minutes later when Luke trolled him in front of the fo and what was left of the resistance.
continued: (2/2) His win felt like a loss, which is a good thing for redemption, but it means two failures in a row nonetheless. In other hand, Rey’s biggest loss was being wrong about Ben Solo and her parents. Yes, she made mistakes but they didn’t bring her consequences she wasn’t able to overtake in the same movie. At the end, her bad choices don’t stop her from becoming the resistance savior. It feels like she can’t do no wrong, which makes it hard to sympathize with her as much as I can with Kylo.

Well, I think the problem why people are a bit more “jumpy” is that there have been a lot of bad takes - on both sides of the debate. I’ve seen some pretty bad anti-Rey/pro-Ben takes myself. Like, I prefer seeing them as two flawed individuals who ended up fucking it all up because of their flaws, and because of a lack of communication?
I might also be influenced by how star-crossed lovers stories usually go: it often happens that lovers in star-crossed romances are separated due to outdated or bad societal conventions - that’s actually EXACTLY what happened with Anakin and Padmé. And honestly, if I was writing IX, I’d follow Rose’s words about “saving what we love, not destroying what we hate” to heart, and have the war end not by the Noble Resistance/Rebellion defeating the Evil First Order/Empire (because c’mon, it’s the OT all over again, you can do better), but by people overcoming their differences, working together, and ultimately show how absurd war is.
That’s what TLJ was about, especially in respects to the Finnrose plot: both Finn and Rose discover that the people behind the war machine don’t care about who’s the bigger dog in the galaxy and all that matters is your own personal gain - and the First Order, as well as the Resistance, all play a part in oiling that machine. Not to mention that Solo was basically an introduction to the underground crime world, who also make their profits out of weapon dealing, so I don’t think that was a coincidence.
That’s not to say you shouldn’t stand against oppression and injustice - you absolutely should, since the opposite would be going against what Star Wars has always been about.
But war is what has always been the cause of every single trial the heroes went through: war is what provoked the Clone Wars, initiated the enslavement of millions of men because they were clones; war is what led Ahsoka Tano to leave what was the equivalent of her family behind after the irreparable had been done; war is what eventually drove Anakin Skywalker to become Darth Vader, and killed Padmé; war is why Luke and Leia grew up and never knew who their real parents are; war is why Luke’s aunt and uncle were killed in a gruesome matter, just for being indirectly implied with a matter they wanted no part in; war is what killed not only Leia’s adoptive parents, but her entire planet as well; war is what killed people like Jyn, Cassian or Bodhi before they were given a chance to actually live a peaceful life; war is eventually what tore Han and Leia apart, destroyed Luke’s work of a lifetime, and drove Ben to the Dark side.
So… wouldn’t it be fitting that the war is won not by a big epic battle of good vs. evil… but people coming together to pursue a common goal, and not care about clans and factions and all the like… but like the Rogue One team, do it even if you have the whole galaxy against you because it’s the right thing to do?
If it was up to me, I’d have Rey, Ben, Finn and Rose team up and plan to take down the First Order from the inside, because it’s the best way at this point to end it all. Rey does it because she has decided to become part of Ben’s life and, to become part of his family and also finding the belonging she always longed for, she helps take down the very organization that tore them apart in the first place, but this time, with Ben, without any conditions, as equals. Ben does it because he realizes on his own that like for people like Finn, Rose, and all the Stormtroopers, the First Order has ruined his life. And if he wants to help establish a new order and make the galaxy a better place, the First Order has to go too. Finn does it because he doesn’t want to fight against his brothers and sisters in arms, and because they, too, want to be free and have lives of their own. And he accepts to do it alongside Ben because he may not understand why Rey loves him, but he trusts her. And Rose does it because in every child who has been indoctrinated by the First Order, she can see Finn in them, and with her planet being enslaved, she realizes that, well, it could have been her.
And to get to the rest of your ask… yes, Ben is sympathetic because as much as he’s an asshole, you understand why he’s the way he is. Of course he messes up. Of course he gets humiliated. He needs all those things in order to be able to grow, understand his mistakes, and learn. THAT’S what makes him sympathetic.
Rey… obviously, she learns what really went down between Luke and Ben, which makes her realize that when it comes to heroes and villains, it’s not always the way it seems. So far, so good, and it’s actually brilliantly done. The problem is that as I said for her rescue plan, while her heart was totally at the right place, the plan itself… honestly needed more work, and Ben pretty much had to save her ass.
And look, I’m a-okay with Rey being impulsive, jumping to conclusions, heading head first into trouble - it makes a lot of sense with her background and characterization. It doesn’t make her unlikeable AT ALL, it just makes her a fully fledged character. The problem here is when those flaws aren’t treated as such - and that’s what’s frustrating, lol. But ya know, it’s a writing problem. Not a problem with the character specifically.
So if she can do no wrong… how can you “sympathize” with her? Because “sympathizing” with someone implies that either they’ve done something bad, either they’re involved in a touchy situation, either they’re affected by a bad situation.
And sure, you can argue she got her heart broken - but my issue is that the movie doesn’t show that. All it took was one little scene where she leaves the Throne Room teary-eyed, looking at Ben but turning away. Instead, straight after the Throne Room fight… next time we see her is her being all happy-go-happy while shooting TIE fighters. So because of that, it makes her look like she doesn’t care - which is not what you should be going for, lol.
But again, to know whether it’s a bad writing decision or not, we’ll have to wait until IX. But all I want Rey to realize is that in order to help Ben, and help the galaxy against the First Order, she can’t drag Ben around, and she can’t expect him to just follow her around because she thinks she’s right or her heart is at the right place. She needs to work WITH HIM. Ya know, do the couple thingy, like, TALK. COMMUNICATE.
