im gonna kill me for saying this after working so hard to get the song finished in time but im kinda considering postponing the video i made it for,,

so it’s for a speedpaint and the art is just this simple little drawing of pidge and like basically my thoughts are this: the song took me so much longer to make, and it also ended up being longer than intended? i was hoping to get it somewhere around 3-4 minutes but i lost control and it turned into 6 minutes

and while that’s a great length for a speedpaint video, i feel like it’s a little long for what a simple drawing this is? so what im getting at here is i’m kind of thinking i want to make this into a bigger project where i draw the other 4 paladins in a similar style, like making it into a little series of drawings? so that the art will be a little more level with the music, in my mind at least

the problem with this idea is im not sure how i would successfully make this into a series, because it’s one thing to draw them all in the same style, but one of the main components of the original drawing is that behind pidge it says “they/them” in big green letters bc that’s my headcanon right, so if i were to do everyone else i wouldn’t know what to write in the bg??

because ok the whole point of the pidge drawing was the pronouns, like when i had the idea for the drawing my concept was “pidge floating with a big ‘they/them/’ taking up the whole background” like it’s not really a small element that i can omit for the others, it’s a key part of the drawing and it’s rly specific to pidge so like??

i guess im hung up on it bc pidge is the only one i headcanon using pronouns different from in canon so if i did the same concept for everyone else they would all just say “he/him” which i guess is fine except it would rly make pidge stand out, obviously. the other option is to just write “they/them” behind everyone else bc Headcanons, right, but it just doesnt feel like it fits to me bc they’re not /my/ headcanons

like ok if we’re talking headcanons, mine is that everyone is trans so actually based on that “he/him” could work, but it’s just that it would only make sense to me, everyone else would just assume im referring to canon

my Other other idea was to maybe figure out something else to write behind the others unrelated to pronouns but my mind is just drawing a complete blank i can’t even imagine what else i could possibly write. maybe i could do solid blocks of color instead of words? or shapes or something hmmm

or i could just forget it and post the video w/ only pidge bc honestly we’re talking about 4 more drawings here, right when im about to start a really physically demanding semester like unless i wanna put off the video for months (after i said in my last video that it’d be up yesterday) it’s really not a good idea anyway????? i just wanted the video to feel worthier of all the hours i put into the song- the song has definitely become the bigger project at this point and i dont want to basically demote it to being this background thing sitting behind this one measly doodle, right. i want to make the entire project worth my time

idk i mean classes start this week so maybe i can get a feel for what the work is gonna be like, and if it seems manageable maybe i can spend the next few weeks or so making 4 more drawings, taking my time w/ them and everything, but if not then... i’ll just post pidge, i guess
