I've seen a few people give really interesting insights into the behavior of the vampire women and the cruel mockery they subject Jonathan to. One person even compared it to a hazing ritual (paraphrasing) which got me thinking.
I would really love to read a story about a recently-turned Jonathan being forced to interact with these people (monsters), now their equal but not really, dealing with the fact he has literally nowhere else to go; the people of the village fear and despise him, even if he manages to make his way back to England he can't be certain he won't endanger Mina. Like it or not, these cruel monsters who have been tormenting him and laughing at his helplessness are all the family he's got now.
