Hypnokink Is Not Hypnotherapy, Please Do Not Confuse The Two.
Though my uploads have been quiet lately on account of my health (fuck you, COVID), I have still been lurking around Tumblr.
In my short time browsing on this site, I’ve noticed something that, to be entirely honest is upsetting.
Among erotic hypnoblogs and regular hypnoblogs of the like, I follow various hypnotherapy related pages to find articles and blogs to further my knowledge and research. Anything that may improve the way I hypnotise people both recreationally and professionally are things I will happily look over.
That is to say, these are separate fields. Hypnosis as a profession is something I take very seriously. It is my pride and passion, along with everything I have spent many years researching to work on.
To find something that is entirely hypnokink related tagged under hypnotherapy, is something that upsets me deeply.
I am passionate about hypnosis as a topic of academic research and as a hobby. I will happily look into clinical studies, along with just your every day fun entertainment. I can note the difference, I will happily explore both. However, they should not be put together. At least, not without it being a speciality. In this case, it didn’t seem like it.
I realise this is more of a rant than anything, but the point I’d like to portray here is keep hypnotherapy separate to hypnokink. We are trying to maintain a positive reputation that as taken many stages of evolution to get us to where we are now. It is things like this that give hypnotherapists either a bad or questionable name.
We all share this interest. While I understand as a fetish it is always going to be questionable. As a result of the media, hypnotherapists will to a point be seen as people that may not entirely have a serious profession. But we need to show there is a distinct difference between the two, if not for the sake of how we are seen by others, then to at least show the public that we are not a fetish practice, and we want to help.

Do you want to become part of this network of hypnotically pervy people having all sorts of hypno fun all across the country? If the answer is yes, we might be able to make your dreams come true!
Here's how to apply for a scholarship! We have funding to provide approximately 4 scholarships, more if people find inexpensive ways to get to the convention. NEEHU wants very much to help as many people get to the con as as possible while also striving to be a highly affordable conference for everyone.
1. Write an essay of at least 500 words or record a short video (less than 10 minutes) on the topic of:
Tell us a bit about your blog and its focus.
Why you would LOVE to go to NEEHU.
2. Include a link to your (active) hypnosis blog.
3. Deadline for submissions is February 15 2015. Submit entries by e-mail or fetlife message to Mephki (at) NEHG (dot) info with the words Blogger Scholarship in the title.
4. If a choice has to be made between submissions, they will be reviewed by The Committee, and winners will be selected based on merit and enthusiasm. Please spell-check your entry prior to submission.
5. Winner(s) will receive up to a $300 travel allotment, registration for this year’s NEEHU, and accommodations in the co-ed 2BR volunteer suite.
