Im sick of people trashing the 'damsel in distress. That simply means a girl who can't save herself. If you want to write a story about a girl who saves the day do so, but don't stomp on those who can't help themselves that's not what heroes do.

Happy (early) MGM! We all know the 4 Hogwarts houses. In which house do you think Bethany would fit best? If she had the choice, would she choose another one?

Bethany: I haven’t read the books or seen the movies, so I don’t know what I’m talking about really, but Faith made me do the test one day and it sorted me into... is it gryffin? Griffendor? Something like that. Anyway it did that because I’m reckless and willing to take physical risks but she tells me I fit better in the raven one or the huffypuffs. And while I like the idea of a smart house, I’d pick the huffypup one instead because Faith is one AND they’re near the kitchens and who wouldn’t want that.

What Hogwarts Houses would you sort all the Supergirl characters into? (Just be aware that your answers have to match what I think otherwise I'll judge you super harshly. :P :P :P I'm kidding of course. I just want to know your opinions.)

HONESTLY THIS IS REALLY HARD and i think i disagree with a lot of other people. PUH-LEASE DON’T HATE ME.

Kara - many put her in Hufflepuff. I am a Hufflepuff. I love Hufflepuff. But Kara, in my opinion, is a Gryffindor. She’s unbelievably brave. She sacrifices for everyone around her. She flies headlong into danger. And yes, she cares about other people in a huge, big, enormous way, but so does Mrs. Weasley, you know? And she was a Gryffindor. So did Lily and Remus. Kara flies into danger, all the time. Sword of Gryffindor, go hang out with ya girl.

James - I think season 1 James was a Hufflepuff, but season 2 James is a Gryffindor. *shruuuuug*

Winn - Ravenclaw. This one is the only one that’s easy for me.

Lena - This one is so hard. I think she wants to be a Gryffindor, more than anything. I think she has the heart of a Hufflepuff and the mind of a Ravenclaw. I think she has Slytherin instincts that scare the shit out of her. I think she’d have been sorted into Ravenclaw because I think (assuming she’s not muggle-born) she wouldn’t have wanted to be in Slytherin - because she doesn’t want to be evil - but she wouldn’t have wanted to be in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff - because she wants to fit in with the Luthors and be loved and they couldn’t love a Gryff or a Huffy. So Ravenclaw would be her only safe bet; “sorry, family, I guess I’m just too nerdy, sorry” rather than “I’m a lover of mudbloods and muggle borns and actual muggles.”

Alex - People say Slytherin. Because she’ll fuck the system and break the rules to save her family. But I think she’s a Gryffindor. I think she’s the darker side of bravery, for sure, but her bravery is never for her own gain. It’s for Kara or for J’onn or for humanity in general. She would have gone to secret prison with J’onn rather than betray him or speak against him or live free while he couldn’t. I don’t think that’s Slytherin-style. She will fuck your shit up, yes, but it’s never to make her own life easier or better. It’s for her mom, for her dad, for her sister. She would die for them in a second, and I think that’s a Gryffindor thing.

Maggie - Ummmm I DON’T FUCKING KNOW I saved this one for last and I still don’t know. She’s smart, she could be a Claw. She’s had to put herself first, to prioritize herself, because no one else did, so she could be a Slyther. She’s brave as FUCK so she could be a Gryff. She’s so soft and gentle with Alex and aliens so she could be a Huff. I think, if she’d had a loving home and childhood, she would be a Huffypuffs. But she didn’t, and I think that really matters. Maggie destroys the house system, the end.

I may be cute, but I am not a trend. I require a lot of time, work and patience. I require being held by my owner for roughly an hour a day. I require a good quality cat food diet. I require a lightless heat set up to keep me from hibernating, which is fatal for my species. I require a hide. I require a large space filled with lots of toys. I require a clean wheel every single night. I require a bath every week to two weeks. I require an exotic vet (so having me in a state where I am illegal is bad--I need a vet that works with my needs). I require a good amount of exercise, so a walk outside (without a lead of ANY kind) is good as well as a 12" wheel. I require to be loved by my owners. Yes, I pose for cute photos and make weird noises, but I, like any animal, have specific needs. I am not a rodent. I am not a hamster, and should never be compared to one. I am a hedgehog. Not a trend.

I have a "mean" hedgehog. Marvel is known for her funny faces on Instagram, and for always being in a ball, but no one knows that every day is a struggle with this girl. She is six months old (on the 2nd of June), is quilling and HATES being touched. While Marvel makes adorable faces, I often hold her with quills digging into my hand. Now, that is NOT to say I don't love her. I have accepted that this is just who Marvel is. She is not the sweet young hedgehog she used to be, and I am fine with that. Because of a mix up where I got her, there was a risk that she would be pregnant. As a result, I was allowed to hold her every day, which is what you are supposed to do with hedgehogs. You are basically supposed to manhandle them every day, for at least an hour a day. Once that 60dpc came up, I made sure to hold her daily, and attempt treats, give belly rubs, etc. She's just... a grump. And I've accepted that. But what most people don't know is that while I do take ADORABLE photos of the grumpy queen, I am hissed at, stabbed, and even bitten on a regular basis. To some people, they would be turned off by this. They would likely have sold her or continued to neglect her. This is why I am SO glad that I am the one who adopted her, because I love her regardless of this "flaw". I will continue to hold her every day, play outside with her, be stabbed by her, bitten by her, etc. Because I love the little sass pot that she is. Please note that if a hedgehog is not held on a regular basis, nor given the care they deserve, they are likely to become this way. They will get used to not being touched, and will actually become extremely defensive. So... HOLD YOUR HEDGEHOG EVERY DAY. NO MATTER HOW GRUMPY THEY ARE.

Sometimes, we have to be hypocrites. Sometimes, we have to do exactly what we tell people not to do, for the sake of the hedgehog. This is Goon. Goon was surrendered in November of 2019 (literally only days after we got Maggie, and he was the third hedgehog that week). The first time I picked him up, he bit me. The first time Connie held him, he took a chunk out of her palm. In the near year we have had him, he has not let up on the biting. Yet, I’ve found that otherwise, he is very sweet. I fear that something happened in his life that has caused some form of PTSD, or something along the lines of. My fear is that someone dropped him, and he latches on so he doesn’t fall, or someone hurt him... I will never know, and even the vet who saw him was pretty stumped. Our usual methods of getting a hog to let go, and even to eventually stop biting, have not worked, so we are compromising. Now, in order to be able to handle him, and play with him, I have to wear gloves and long sleeves, should he ever decide to have a snack. This goes against everything I’ve ever told people to do, for it is so vital for a hedgehog to smell their owners in order to get used to their smell, and begin associating it with good things. I’ve decided to give him a second chance, and a forever home. Goon will be staying in the HuffyPuffs family from now on. I don’t feel comfortable letting him go to anyone else with this bad habit of his, because not everyone else is prepared for the responsibility (or the pain) of a biting hedgehog. Meet Spud. We’ve actually had him for four and a half months, but he hates the camera. Spud is not just any ole hog, he’s Fox’s brother! He is one of the eight that was rescued back in October of 2017. He looks so much like his amazing mom, Rowling. He was adopted by an amazing woman, who kept him and loved him despite her allergies to pet dander. When her allergies became too much for her to handle, she contacted me, knowing I had adopted all of his female family members. He has been a member of the HuffyPuffs fam since November 18, the day after we got Maggie! Well, thank you to all the new people who have chosen to follow our page in the last few hours! And welcome to the HuffyPuffs. I’m Sydney, the owner of Fox, who is the whole reason why most of you are here. Now, let’s get to know Fox, shall we, and address some of the questions asked on the video you all came from. . . Fox was dumped along with her mom, dad, two sisters and three brothers at a local pet store on October 21, 2017. I adopted her mom and two sisters along with Fox—they were all bonded and there was no way I could separate them. One of the boys was adopted by a friend, but he passed away on December 10, 2017, due to organ failure caused by the neglect of their first “home”. Fox had surgery to amputate her back left foot, and while she cannot do some things that other hogs can do, that doesn’t stop her from living her best life. Yes, she did enjoy swimming in the lake in the video—she followed me out into the water on her own accord. Fox’s brothers were all adopted by different people, but one was adopted by someone who kept in touch with me afterwards. Due to allergies becoming far too much for her to handle, she gave him to me. That’s Spud, whom I introduced the other day. Fox is now 100% blind, but again, this does not stop her. She is still as happy as a clam, and yes, ask anyone, she DOES know the difference between me and other people. She’s noticeably calmer when I’m holding her. Yes, hedgehogs are nocturnal, however, due to the constant handling from medications, feedings, and cleanings, Fox became rather used to being our during the day and it doesn’t really phase her. Some hogs are noticeably grumpy during the day versus night time, and that’s how it should be, but Fox is broken. Unfortunately, we lost Fox’s mom in December. I decided to help her cross the rainbow bridge when I found a tumour near her bum. She was just as amazing as Fox. Fox is my heart hog. There is no other hog in this world that I’ve loved as much as her, and keep in mind, I’ve had 26 hogs. She is my girl, my pride and joy, and I love her to bits. #foxhedgie . .
