Thinking about how the Leverage Team dresses. (Again.)
How they dress describes them so perfectly and it makes me SO happy.
Like;
Nate- he wears black or dark colors most of the time. He's still mourning the loss of his son and probably his divorce. However he doesn't dress sloppy. He wants people to believe that he has it all together- even if he really doesn't. His hair his a mess of curls that looks like it was brushed with his hands. Well kept, but still devilish looking. (A good indicator that he doesn't have life put together.
Sophie- she never dresses sloppy. All high-end/ semi- high end clothes. She's all about shoes and shopping. Probably for the next grift. She looks flawless in whatever she is given. Most of the time it gives her confidence to look the mark in the eye and pull it all off. High heels are her best friend and her hair is always spot on.
Parker- she pulls of the grundgy look. It's a mix of dull and colors- that blend in. Like she's a rebellious teenager. Of course on the job (unless she's grifting,) she's in all black. But nobody would question a young women who looks rebellious. Most just blink and walk past- something she picked up on the street probably.
Hardison- he dresses like he's chill. Relaxed. T-shirts and pants. (Again, unless he's grifting.) He doesn't have to mask up most of the time- and his clothes are usually muted, but there's colors. He too looks like a teenager whose up to no good- just in a different way.
Eliot- (I've posted about him before,) but he's a weird mix of Parker and Hardison- with his own style. Maybe it's from his years of being a hit-man. But he blends in with any situation. Between his leather jacket or his button ups. Him and Sophie probably have the most color in the way they dress- constantly changing with what the con needs. Again, reds are a good shade for Eliot. And he really does pull off the country bumpkin when needed.
Harry- dresses like Sophie. (Of course he's a lawyer so that's probably a lot of it,) but it's almost like he needs to dress nice. He needs respect- and he dresses like it.
Breanna- she dresses like a modern teenager/almost adult. Casual and comfy.

the pathologic Kin is largely fictionalized with a created language that takes from multiple sources to be its own, a cosmogony & spirituality that does not correlate to the faiths (mostly Tengrist & Buddhist) practiced by the peoples it takes inspirations from, has customs, mores and roles invented for the purposes of the game, and even just a style of dress that does not resemble any of these peoples', but it is fascinating looking into specifically to me the sigils and see where they come from... watch this:
P2 Layers glyphs take from the mongolian script:
while the in-game words for Blood, Bones and Nerves are mongolian directly, it is interesting to note that their glyphs do not have a phonetic affiliation to the words (ex. the "Yas" layer of Bones having for glyph the equivalent of the letter F, the "Medrel" layer of Nerves having a glyph the equivalent of the letter È,...)
the leatherworks on the Kayura models', with their uses of angles and extending lines, remind me of the Phags Pa Script (used for Tibetan, Mongolian, Chineses, Uyghur language, and others)
some of the sigils also look either in part or fully inspired by Phags Pa script letters...
some look closer to the mongolian or vagindra (buryat) script
looking at the Herb Brides & their concept art, we can see bodypainting that looks like vertical buryat or mongolian script (oh hi (crossed out: Mark) Phags Pa script):
shaped and reshaped...

I don't really get this take, it's not the first time I've seen it, and it's just... I don't even know.
green is the color of war for her house, but it's also just her house's color, and for a girl ripped up from her life as a hightower and made a Targaryen Queen of all things, she started wearing her house colors compared to her color (blue) or the Targaryen colors (red) probably to cling to some sense of normalcy and identity.
not only that, but from a costuming perspective the symbolism is right there, you're just missing it. it's not about war, that one dress had been war, that's why the comment is made. the color is Alicent no longer trying to be a Targaryen, no longer changing herself and ignoring the pain she's in, and instead being her own person despite her position. she starts wearing green instead of red, the two colors being opposites, when she stops trying to pander to her lost friend, stops trying to fit in and be this new person. she took a stand with that dress, she declared 'war' on this false identity and the fruitless effort she had put in to try and smooth the tensions in the family.
after that, the green is showing she remains herself, a Hightower. not a Targaryen.
I love her green, I love how she holds onto that piece of her, she doesn't let anyone take it or change it. she holds true to herself in this one simple way as to wear her house colors.
also how can you deem a character boring just based on the colors they wear... it's just such a boring and outlandish take.

I have seen you talking about Dick & Dami's relationship and Dick & Tim as well,but what are your takes on Dick and Jason actually?
Like how you wish their relationship should be portrayed today and where are them missing when it comes to making those two acting like siblings?
Do you think in the past their dynamic was better?
How Dick views Jason and how Jason views Dick?
This is difficult to answer because there are like 8 different stages to Dick and Jason's relationship with various dynamics. They also view each other a bit differently depending on which stage we're talking about.
The way I would like their relationship to be portrayed today isn’t necessarily possible thanks to Jason’s integration into the family and acceptance of the no killing moral code. For me, their ideal dynamic is portrayed in Outsiders #44-46. And I know people are gonna find that regressive as hell but, tbh, that dynamic is far more interesting than the kinda awkward thing they have going on now.
Although, I don't mind that they acknowledge their brotherhood in a serious manner now. Like before they'd kinda be like, "Eh... I mean... we were adopted from the same guy but... brothers? Eh..." And now they're more firmly in the, "We're brothers," camp. So that development is interesting.
Character progression wise, it wouldn't feel right for for them to be super close in the way that, say, Dick and Tim are (unless we saw a lot of trust and relationship building between them), but at the same time, there is part of me that kind of wants them to have that older sibling bond (except Jason is closer in age to Tim than he is to Dick sooo actually let's just leave older sibling things to Dick and Cass... not that Cass is much older than Jason though so LOL this is why Dick has to lone the oldest sibling thing by himself... which is funny because Dick is technically no longer the oldest sibling, he's a baby brother now... except Dick and Melinda's relationship really hasn't progressed much sooo you could say they share blood but don't consider each other family yet, in which case, Dick is still the oldest... I mean, regardless, Dick is the oldest sibling of the Waynes... god why did they have to make all of this so difficult 😫).

Hmm... it's interesting how they made Luz wear a witch's cloak in Hunting Palisman - the episode where she introduces Flapjack to Hunter. This is also the episode where Hunter defies Belos by choosing Luz over him. He goes back to his palace empty-handed and he doesn't hand over Flapjack to Belos. Unbeknownst to Hunter, he is following Caleb's footsteps.
But then, in Hollow Mind, they made the choice to have Luz not wear her witches cloak - instead they made Luz wear a jacket with a giant "E" on it. They could have given Luz a completely different outfit like they did in Hunting Palisman. But they don't... they make her wear this specific jacket...
...They also make Hunter wear Caleb's symbol in Hollow Mind... an episode where Luz and Hunter are trapped in Philip's mind... where we can see paintings of the two most important characters in Philip's life - his brother and a witch from another world.
But I'm sure this is all unintentional.

Hunter and Philip's relationship completely deteriorates because of Luz, which leads to Philip's decision to kill Hunter. She shows Hunter Belos' true nature and she offers Hunter sanctuary at The Owl House right after he finds out Belos has been lying to him his whole life... Luz saves Hunter's life and changes it forever.

green kids redesign 2/4!
while i loved phia saban’s performance in hotd, i wish the showrunners hadn’t ignored the fact that helaena is fat in the books. i kept her crown-braid hairstyle, but i was going for a more book-inspired design. her dress is based off one from bbc musketeers which, while it’s dreadful as a 1640s dress, incorporates the greens’ colour and a naturey twist.
(you can see aemond here. these designs are also influenced by/are the reference points i’m using for my series, a yellow dress, which is an au in which the greens manage to win the dance, at a cost)
