There is a surprise in the Vale beyond the choice of wife for the Grafton Bastard. He is pleased by her kindness. Aemma was born the second child and first daughter of Lord Mord and Lady Teora. She was quickly followed into the world by her twin sister Arwen and the two have been inseparable since. The elder sister would compare her younger sister as akin to her right arm. Without her she wouldn't know what to do.

The sisters grew up, never spotted without the other. Anyone throughout the Snakewood could tell you that they were joined at the hip, so much so that the two were branded the nickname "The Two Headed Viper" in reference to their House's coat of arms (A black field strewn with green vipers).

Their childhood was a rather pleasant one overall, save for the unrelenting taunting they received from their elder brother Jonos. The Snakewood was happy and prosperous until one fateful day when their mother lost her life in the birthing bed, their newborn brother (whom Mord bestowed the name Eldric), passing along with her. As a result of this, the Snakewood entered a long period of mourning.

Without her mother's loving guidance and warm presence, Aemma clung even more to her sister. After all, apart from herself, Arwen was the closest thing to Teora that she had left. Aemma had always been closer to her mother than her father and the emptiness she left behind was felt throughout the entire fortress. The silence alone was deafening.

It was during this time that Aemma delved well into her hobbies. She spent hours devoting herself to learning languages from various regions throughout Westeros, working hard to master different dialects as well. As she learned, she also read, flying through any book she could get her hands on. It didn't matter the topic, she simply wanted to learn as much as possible and perhaps escape her reality if only for a little while. With all the reading came writing and she became rather adept at calligraphy. In fact, she also became quite the master at copying the signatures of others, using such things to practice the art.

Over time, her studies led she, as well as Arwen, to become secretly fascinated with the art of healing. They learned about herbology and poisons and what could heal and what could hurt. It was a hidden hobby they shared that would come into play in a much greater way later in their lives.

As years passed and Aemma grew older, her brother Jonos continued to present himself as a problem. One might mistake him for a Targaryen as it was as if someone had tossed a coin when he was born. All his life he had been cruel, but as he grew into adulthood his behavior only worsened. This reckless and ruthless boy was to one day be the face of House Lynderly? He practically spat on the name. The idea that he would one day be Ruling Lord of their House made Aemma sick. It couldn't be allowed. For if it was, he would only drive their name and their seat into the ground to be a house made extinct and forgotten. No, Aemma had much greater plans for House Lynderly and the Snakewood.

No one had ever discovered how it happened. To anyone else it would just appear like an untimely demise. The seven had different plans and all that nonsense. But there were two people who knew the truth. They knew how a colorless, odorless, slow acting poison ended up in their brother's cup. They knew about the secret book in their personal library that wasn't in fact a book at all. They knew of the vials that the false book contained and just what their contents could do. But it would appear like any other unfortunate illness and no one would be any the wiser. Rest in Peace Lord Jonos Lynderly, heir to the Snakewood.

Following the young lord's death, Lord Mord named the twins, his only surviving children, his heirs (After discussions, the sisters decided they would lead together after their father's passing rather than it simply going to Aemma as the oldest. They were always better together after all). They have agreed that when it comes time for them to name a heir that the title would go to the first born child between either of them.

HISTORY

as the eldest child of lord bronn and lady talla, cassian was born with high expectations on his shoulders. he was born to one day inherit highgarden and become the lord paramount of the reach. to ensure that he was prepared, his parents didn’t spare a single expense when it came to his education, bringing the best tutors from all corners of the known world to highgarden. cassian immediately showed himself to be an intelligent child, a prodigy some would say, and excelled at all of his lessons. his memory and skills of observance were particularly remarked on. he would spend hours reading and pouring himself over the logic puzzles his tutors would give him. no one doubted that one day he would make a great ruler of the reach.

cassian was particularly close with his mother. his father wasn’t absent by any means, but his mother and he were quite alike when it came to their personalities. no one would ever say that lady talla was a bad mother, quite the opposite, but there was a dark side to her, one fueled by ambition, and she saw the same ghost of darkness in her eldest son. so lady talla encouraged her son in his studies and fueled the fires of his ambitions. she told him that he was worthy and deserving of greatness; it wasn’t long before cas believed that himself. suddenly, ruling only the reach felt too small, too easily forgotten. 

at his wife’s bequest, lord tyrell arranged for his eldest son to foster in king’s landing under the guardianship of the royal family. it was seen as an honor, elevating house tyrell’s standings as an ally of the crown. cassian adapted to king’s landing with surprising ease, his mother having prepared him for the world he’d face at court, and presented the convincing image of a charming, intelligent, and thoughtful young man. it wasn’t long before a friendship developed between the crown princess and him. they were soon rarely seen apart. it was all part of the plan. princess vaella was unmarried and unbetrothed, getting close to her and gaining her trust, would, in cassian’s mind, all but guarantee him one day being chosen as her betrothed. whether any part of his friendship with vaella was ever sincere was a subject that might one day be debated - it certainly didn’t start as anything more than a plot to achieve his goals, but no one knew that. in the eyes of court, cassian was the lady’s closest and truest friend and confidant.

cassian was confidant when it came time for vaella to marry. he’d made his intentions known and expected them to be reciprocated only for joss baratheon to be chosen instead. he was furious, though told vaella he understood, and left king’s landing for two years under the guise of heartbreak. in reality, he was plotting his next move.

he was soon called back to king’s landing when vaella was crowned queen and asked for him to serve as the hand of the queen. the two had kept in contact via letters ( cassian hadn’t wanted to let the friendship weaken in case he might need it ) and so she told him she couldn’t envision anyone other than him, her closest confidant, at her side. however, he almost refused the position, viewing it as an insult after she’d refused to marry him and yet still wanted him at her side; however, he soon realized he could use this to his advantage - having the queen’s ear could arguably be more valuable than her heart. 

the queen was delighted to be reunited with her best friend, welcoming him back and celebrating his appointment with a grand feast, and cassian played the role expected of him well. his friendship with the queen was stronger than ever, and much to the surprise of many, he even became friends, at least on the surface, with the king. he was also an excellent hand and his advice was highly valued by the queen, but he was a snake in the grass. as he watched the queen gradually make more and more poor decisions, he made up his mind. he carefully balanced giving vaella good advice that furthered her trust in him and misguided advice that gradually would make others question her judgement. all the while he began planting the seeds for an even greater plot with the help of the allies he’d gathered to his side.

when the plot against the queen was enacted, cassian remained behind the scenes, allowing lord tarly and lady greyjoy to take center stage when it came to leveling the accusations against king joss, but cas had his hand in each move, and when the vaella asked for his opinion, he played the part of both a concerned friend and a dutiful hand, but his advice, like always, was tainted. he knew exactly what to say that would sway her. when the conversation ended, the call went out for joss baratheon's arrest. cassian assisted with the trail from the shadows, making sure all the “evidence” was in place, but due to not involving himself openly with the plot, when the calls of dismissal came, he was untouched. the queen believed that he’d been tricked as well.

his father wanted him tor return to highgarden, but cassian refused. not only did he hope that vaella might now decide to marry him, but he also knew the full plot against the crown wasn’t finished. if anything, it was only beginning. when news reached cassian that he was no longer heir to highgarden he was upset and only became more determined to achieve his true ambition. however, he offered his support to his younger brother. family had always been important to cas; they were the only people who saw a genuine, softer side to the otherwise calculative lord, and he could never remain angry with any of them for long.

cassian’s commitment to the plot against the crown hadn’t wavered. simply getting rid of the king wasn’t enough, he wanted the entire royal house to fall, and now that all the nobles were called to king’s landing, the time to act was fast approaching, and he was ready.

ALLIES / SUPPORTERS  —  people who are against the velaryons for whatever reason. bonus points if they think house tyrell, and specifically cas, would be better one the throne. could be longterm supporters or have recently come over to the side.

SPIES  —  even when lady greyjoy was the mistress of whispers, cas always trusted information he could gather himself above all else so he has a nice network of very loyal spies. especially now that there’s a new mistress of whispers. they also help him cause chaos / spread rumors that he approves. i also think it’d be cool if he took in some of lady greyjoy’s spies once she was removed from the council.

APPRENTICE  —  someone cas has taken under his wing. he sees a lot of potential in them and almost views them as an adopted kid - not that he’d admit that.

LOST LOVE  —  the woman he would have married had he remained in highgarden rather than going to king’s landing. he truly loved her, perhaps the only woman he ever loved, but cas chose his ambition and desire to be king over her. by the time he returned to highgarden after the royal wedding, it was too late.

HADES & PERSEPHONE  —  kind of self explanatory because i’m weak for greek myth inspired dynamics. basically, they are opposites, he darkness and she light, and normally cassian wouldn’t look twice at someone like her, but for some reason he’s finds himself intrigued by her. she would be one of the few people that cassian allows to see a softer side of himself. would also be cool if she had a similar darkness in her that she only showed around him. 

BROKEN BETROTHAL(S)  —  someone either his father wanted cas to marry after he failed to marry the queen and/or someone the queen thought would be a good match for her friend. however, none of them came to fruition for whatever reason.

the cadet branch of house tyrell , within the walls of whitegrove , was a happy family . the younger brother of the ruling lord of highgarden at its stead with his three children and his beloved wife . but , sickness befell megara's father when they were no older than four , stealing the lives of the entirety of their family . though the ruling lord of highgarden had loved his brother in another life , he had been none to pleased when lord olymar arrived home , wed , without his permission . it was by the grace of the seven that he accepted his young niece to become a ward of his household instead of casting them to fall into the laps of some other nearby house .

the resentment towards a younger brother's betrayal seemingly passed onto his daughter after his death . the lady doted on her cousins , lavishing them in their love and affections , silently begging for scraps of their attention . though nothing could overshadow the side ways glances and venom filled words passed by their uncle . lady megara would quickly grow their very own resentment for their uncle , even sooner passing it onto his children .

megara found escape at age 23 by hitching onto the coattails of the eldest child of the house , using their fleeting friendship to travel with them to the vale to pursue potential matches within house arryn . the celebrations that followed that night introduced them to the lady lynderly . green eyes formerly swelled with envy softened at the sight of her . for megara , it was supposedly love at first sight . perhaps the potential to escape the clutches of highgarden once and for all had the lady in a haze . . . but that didn't halt her from spending the night dancing with lady lynderly . affections and doting once squandered , now appreciated , returned even . it was four days after this night that the two of them eloped in the snakewood .

initially , the two had a rocky time of figuring out how to live with each other . their dear wife had just come to be the ruling lady of the snakewood , jumbling through duties she had , thus far , never taken on . peace was found when the two took in a ward . the boy , at age 11 , had found himself in a situation similar to megara's --- lost his family , alone in the world . they took pity on him , guiding him back to their wife in the keep and insisting that they stayed with him . it wasn't long before the two considered their ward as their son . the two had a plethora of love to share and were happy to pass it onto their children . lady rosamund and lord morgon seemingly filled the remainder of the missing pieces of their family . megara and their wife were relieved to provide the loving home for those lost in the world , alone . finally , the former lady of whitegrove has found their peace .

letter arrived beckoning their house arrived mere weeks before their eventual arrival to the gates of king's landing . megara , of course , being the more protective entity of the bunch , arrives early . perhaps to face the impending doom of laying eyes on members of house tyrell for the first time in a decade . . . or perhaps to make peace . regardless , megara , rosamund , morgon , briony , and amarys have been the first of house lynderly to arrive .

megara loves their wife as much as a person can . . . but i imagine she is not the only person they have ever loved . specifically , the person they left behind the day they left for the vale . perhaps still in the throes of their affair when megara promises to return , but never does . this would probably be someone from the reach , but i just love the idea of them reconnecting in king's landing and having no clue what to do .

BIO

dalla was still a toddler when found beyond the wall after a wildling raid.  house umber known for the boisterous people they made, the ruling lord saw a bit of that in the girl and made the decision to adopt her into their home.  but she never felt out of place, all of her siblings adopted as well and just as rowdy at times.

it may have been a bit of the wildling still in her but growing up, she took quick to a bow, and became very good, very fast.  there was very little ladylike about her, though she knew the time might come when she would have to eventually do her duties for her family.  

not a particularly ambitious family, but they did hope to make the best arrangements and eventually when a betrothal was proposed for dalla, she was not excited –– until she met lord domeric lynderly.  she was surprised to be excited to get to know him more, the sense of dread lessening as time went on.  but, it did not last.

when the lord was sent to the wall after “accidentally” killing someone in a bar fight, the woman’s betrothal was then turned to his younger brother, someone she didn’t know or find she had much in common with, someone she was not excited to be marrying.

at first, dalla was miserable, in a place that was not her home and time spent with someone she barely knew.  but eventually she found ways to make the time in snakewood bearable.  making sure to be discreet, not wanting to dishonor her own family, dalla found companionships in others and only presented as a happy wife when need be.  

in the past year, since her sister’s death, she’s spent more time in the last hearth than snakewood and since her husband’s other brother’s indiscretions in winterfell that led to his beheading, she is hoping to end the marriage altogether, as house lynderly had continuously tarnished their name and she did not want to be dragged down with them.

EXTRAS

dalla is tough on the outside but a big mush on the inside and easily gets emotional or her feelings hurt.

good with a sword, but obviously a bow is her weapon of choice.  

she has an all black dog named midnight that is always lurking close by and goes everywhere with her.

everything is south to her, still having very vague memories from her short time beyond the wall, before she was adopted.

she loves and feels big but that’s also why she gets hurt so easily.

rarely fights for leisure or practice as she doesn’t really like for people to know what she can do ... just in case.

tensions have run high in castle winterfell since that dreaded jousting match. the pressure upon the new king’s shoulders is immense, a decision made in haste could cost valuable alliances.

after multiple small council sessions, meetings with houses royce and arryn, pleas of house lynderly, and days spent pondering the right choice, king harrion stark finally announces the fate of ser lynderly in the dungoens. the judgement is delivered to the court over dinner.

that next morning at daybreak, ser lynderly was beheaded by ruling lord arnold royce.

this was a bit of a challenge but i think i managed a decent list ! i could see sybilla working for houses mormont, karstark, fossoway, yronwood, or wylde, and could fill the wcs for the one who got away for theomore saltcliffe, or lover for aron santagar !! for katie, houses saltcliffe, santagar ( adopted ), greyjoy, mormont, or cerwyn ! stefanie could fit in houses fossoway, lefford, crakehall, lannister of darry, or lynderly ! both katie and stefanie could fill connections as ladies-in-waiting to either queen consort alerie targaryen nee tyrell, or princess visenya. and finally, paddy gibson would do well in houses lannister of casterly rock, caron, tarly, perryn, or westerling, and could fill connections as princess daella targaryen's childhood best friend, or as daenerys celtigar's secret lover !!
