Hi everyone!! I just wanted to hop onto the main today and make a little post saying thank you to all of our members past and present for being a part of this group and helping us make it to the major milestone of being open for one whole year!! That's right today is Gods and Monsters' 1 year mark of being open! A major, major milestone for any group! As of right now, the group at its 1st birthday is sitting at 20 members and 57 characters! We are seeing whole families get filled out, and tons of wonderful connections between our characters forming, something that at this major milestone could not make me happier!! We also have A LOT of fun things coming everyone's way! Including engagements, weddings, betrayals, more secret romances, and a MAJOR MAJOR plot update that is going to shake up our story! If any of this sounds interesting or fun to you, PLEASE send in an app as soon as possible! We would love to have you and any character you can think of! Again, thank you to everyone for helping us reach this major 1-year milestone, and here's to another year of writing over here at Gods and Monsters!

well. dance of dragons just did what dance of dragons does best: killing off beloved characters. the assassination of lord rashid jordayne within voltantis is bound to have severe consequences for the relations between the two realms. will the tolands of ghost hill take advantage of the tor's recent mourning and strike the tor hard? see here for other recent plot drops in each of our regions.

dance of dragons rp is set three years, in 143AC, after the end of our AU version of the dance of dragons, which lasted ten years in our verse. all the kingdoms have become independent, with two main exceptions: the stormlands bow to a targaryen king in kings landing, and the iron islands were buried under the revenge of the westerlands and the reach for thousands of years of sacking. rules can be found here, as can the application form. upon entry to the group, each new member  is assigned a member of the admin team to help them settle and ask any questions to!

In the land of Gods and Monsters...

The realm has lived in relative peace for 60 years after the War in the North, but not all is what is seems. Many will be tested as a new foe threatens to shake up the seven kingdoms.

In 305 AC, Cersei Lannister yielded to Queen Daenerys Targaryen, who reclaimed her rightful throne and banished the lion queen back to Casterly Rock. Taking Gendry Baratheon as her King Consort, some would say they ruled harmoniously, while others would disagree. Jon Snow went to live with the wildlings, where he died without leaving any heirs, perhaps finding his true place.

The North regained its independence with the agreement of the dragon queen, and thus Sansa Stark, the Queen in the North, ruled the realm for many years. Dorne, with all its unique customs, remained completely independent and isolated. However, things have now changed as the memory of uniting to fight a greater enemy has faded. With the death of the dragon queen, Daenerys Targaryen, tensions have escalated.

Kingdoms that once pledged loyalty to the dragons now crave their own independence or wish to join the Starks, who are determined to maintain their autonomy from the Iron Throne, despite rumors suggesting that the new Targaryen rulers would have a different vision.

CURRENT PLOT:

In the aftermath of Queen Daenerys of House Targaryen's death, Westeros finds itself grappling with the consequences and uncertainties of succession and power. THE KING HAS DIED .

after a tumultuous fourty year reign, king edmund has passed away peacefully. he leaves behind only one heir, the missing princess drusilla. on her tenth name day, drusilla was stolen from her chambers while the king and queen slept. after weeks of searching and no luck, ( the black queen ) millicent turned to darker forces. she found an old witch and made a deal ; until her daughter is returned to her rightful throne, the realm would suffer. monsters and creatures from the ( other place ) would now walk freely amongst the men. the deal would require a sacrifice, so queen millicent gladly gave herself up to the witch.⠀⠀⠀⠀

with the queen and king dead, and no heir to step up, the realm is now divided. the advisors of the late king go back and forth between appointing a new king, but hesitate out of fear of the curse.

now, eleven years later, monsters have long since risen. they lurk in the shadows, under beds, even in your wardrobes. but, with the evil came some good. the faire folk and some witches have been trying to undo the curse. but alas, all blood sacrifices are sacred and near impossible to reverse.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

but . . . rumor has it that deep within the dark forest, theres a young lady who's awaiting her knight. the members of the kings guard have decided to take a team into the forest and bring back their rightful queen. will you help bring balance back to the realm , or will you add to it's chaos ?

Shortly after the start of the Seventh Moon, the citadel has announced the beginning of Autumn. The temperatures are getting a little bit cooler across Westeros, the leaves are beginning to turn various colorful hues, and the oppressive heat that some regions deal with during summer is finally beginning to become a little bit more bearable.

In order to celebrate the season, we have come up with some seasonal prompts for threads/posts that can be used with characters regardless of the regions.
