Blue Egg Adventures... What’s with the username? 11 years ago I had a character idea 💡 Her name was Nixie. She lived on a floating town on the ocean with her twin brother, Trent. I wanted to paint her in my art class but needed to “artsie” it up a bit. Stumbling across a photo of robin’s eggs in a nest, I drew her holding the nest and ran with it. By the end of the semester, with my professor’s prompting, I’d created an illustrated short story about how the discovery of the eggs helped Nixie come to terms with her father’s death. 🧵🐣🌅 Years later, I decided to start my own art business. The story had stuck with me, so I decided to use the blue eggs in my business name. Soon those eggs began to represent hope and healing for others. I took my little book to events and saw it touch people, sometimes bringing them to tears. The eggs had become bigger than me and my dream to sell art. My passion changed to wanting to help others through my art and stories. To bring adventure, hope, healing, and smiles to people. Just like the eggs had done for Nixie. But her story isn’t over yet. Her first short story is in print format, on my Etsy (shameless plug - the link is on my linktree, along with the blue egg nests). But a rough draft for a young adult novel is done and I’m brainstorming several more, aiming for an adventure series that will bring hope to people.
