okay everyone, we got there! it has been three years since I began drawing whistlepaw everyday.

It is not an understatement to say Whis has become a main part of my life. I draw whistlepaw constantly and it is a relaxing little thing to do in the evening. It has grown alongside me, I don't think I need to begin a whole new spiel like I did at day 1000, but my life has changed so much since day one of this, but whistlepaw didn't leave. It was here as I kept on drawing that silly blue cat every day. I never thought when I first started this blog it'd become such a massive enterprise, with people following along for the ride, and even helping make this hourly whisversary possible.

Hootwhisker! He is characterized as a loyal responsible young cat. He is Nightcloud's apprentice, and I believe was first written in Bramblestar's storm, when they hunt a bird on Thunderclan territory because the rabbits in Windclan are less plentiful. He earns a cuff over his ear from Nightcloud when he tells Bramblestar such. They have quite the rapport as mentor and apprentice, he compliments her hunting demonstrations and she thinks that he is usually quite sensible, but when he is the first to see the stoats in Crowfeather's trial and describes them as glowing white cats, she thinks he's imagining things. when later in the book the patrol goes to find Nightcloud he insists on joining, bringing his temporary mentor Gorsetail with him. He is the one to find a trace of Nightcloud's scent that leads the patrol to twolegplace.

Other things of note, He is the original mentor of Whistlepaw, he was in favor of the exile of codebreakers (especially crowfeather lmao), but then later is trusted with the protection of camp by crowfeather so. No hard feelings I guess.

honestly- thinking about Hootwhisker and how that joke about him getting a super edition should come true. He is a blank slate- take advantage of that Erin’s.

Have Hootwhisker be the Flipclaw of WindClan, let his whole life be a series of entertaining misadventures and mild misfortunes.

I don't understand what the purpose of bloating the patrol searching for Nightcloud was. 3 characters should have been the max, either Breezepelt, Crowfeather, and Hootpaw OR Brezzepelt, Crowfeather, and Heathertail. And even then the third would be kind of a spare.

So here's some lore with Hootwhisker, and his son, Stagrunner!

Hootwhisker , was primarily very distant from his son, Stagstrike, up until he had begun his training. As an apprentice, Stagpaw was confident in his abilities, with Shrikepaw helping to boost that confidence when they would train together. However, after witnessing the death of his mentor, Brightbeetle, due to a misunderstanding with a DuskClan patrol, it compeletely shattered his confidence, and harshly affected his training. While all the cats around him graduated to warriors, he was left behind, even with Eelstar himself pushing him to train.

Eventually, Hootwhisker went to Eelstar, telling him that, during a patrol with just him and Stagpaw, his son had protected him fiercely from a fox, and that be believed Stagpaw was well-enough ready for his warrior name, suggesting Eelstar should highlight his fighting spirit.

And so, he did, Stagpaw graduating 4 moons late with the name Gruagkachkubo, Stag that has Struck.

A half-moon later, he'd been startled awake by Shrikewing stirring in the nest next too him, and leaving the den with Hootwhisker. Shrikewing had offered him a part in taking Eelstar out of his position, promising to make him deputy, but Stagstrike had refused, not wanting to risk his new position as a warrior. He had assumed that the tom had given up on his plan, and so, out of curiosity, decided to follow the other cats to see what they were up to.

He'd lost track of them after a while, but eventually caught up to Moonhaze and Eelstar, only able to question what was happening for a moment before Shrikewing and Hootwhisker pounced. He stood frozen in place, in horror, as it happened, too far to hear what anyone was saying, but close enough for Eelstar to notice him. As soon as the leader made eye contact with him, Stagstrike turned tail back to camp.

Once Eelstar had returned, and once he was done laying it into Snapwing, Maggotbelly, Hootwhisker and Shadowleap, he was just as quick to turn to Stagstrike, asking him if he thought he would get away with his own deeds. He was deemed as deserving of a name change, to Gruagpanpea, Stag that will Run, as a permanent mark of his cowardice, and exiled alongside his father.

I realized that I was really close to having done all of the current cats in the clans (excluding the kits in ASC), so I decided to just draw them all. Windclan had the most missing, with Harestar, the leader, Kestrelflight, the medicine cat, Leaftail, Hootwhisker, Fernstripe, Crouchfoot, Slightfoot, and Whiskernose. Whiskernose is said to have retired to the elder's den early due to injuries sustained in the Great Battle, but it's never fully explained what those injuries are. Oakfur is a Shadowclan elder, and Shimmerpelt is a Riverclan warrior.

Continuing with the modern WindClan cats, it's official Good Boy from Crowfeather's Trial, Hootwhisker.

Hootwhisker has no physical description given other than his pattern, so I came up with my own for him. Most WindClan cats are skinny, but when I look at a cat with his name, I think of a squater, sort of owlish cat with a round head, thicker build, and big round eyes. So that's what I went with. ^^ Maybe he's not pure WindClan, or he just got a bunch of recessive genes. XD I used this image as a reference.

For his pattern, Hootwhisker is described as a dark gray tom. He has no canon eye color, so I gave him super light yellow eyes.

Overall, I'm really happy with how he turned out.

duskpaw, emberpaw, furzepaw, and stagpaw are apprenticed to whitetail, halofur, echofang, and duskthroat.

hootkit dies.

cypressfall and vanillaeye have seven kits: bluekit (blue she-cat), cottonkit (blind, golden-brown she-cat with copper eyes), frostkit (she-cat with hazel eyes), juniperkit (warm grey she-cat with gold eyes), larchkit (pale, golden-brown tom), silverkit (deaf, warm grey tom with amber eyes), and slightkit.
