As I promised, here is my first artwork from Tales of Arise. I really liked this video game, and I have some other artwork to work on from this game ;)

She thinks that, above everything else, she will remember this:

Hootle is a tiny bundle in her hood, asleep and shivering, and the air reeks of death muted with layer upon layer of frost. She is curled up in an alley just a little ways off the main road, enough that no one passing by will notice her, and every breath she takes in stings her nose, attacks her lungs with sharp pains like knives. Her stomach scrapes hollow, long past queasiness, longer past hunger. At this point she's willing to risk conjuring up a tiny flame no matter the danger if it keeps her alive, but she's tried and failed and tried again and failed again, energy and mana depleted, as dry as the wells in Calaglia during a drought.

Or, Rinwell, through all the ages.

Have you played Tales of Arise? So far I have played Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia, and Arise. Arise is my favorite! Please let me know what your favorite Tales game is or if you have any recommendations. Love your art! Glad to see it become a space that works for you.

Yes! I played Arise a while back - my favorite characters were Dohalim and Rinwell <3 I haven't played the DLC that recently came out for it, though.

My favorite Tales games are Abyss and Symphonia! When I found out they were both written by the same person (Takumi Miyajima) I ended up just. tracking down everything she's ever been involved in - if you liked the writing for either of those games, you might be interested in checking out Scarlet Nexus, which she also worked on?

As for other Tales games, I've heard good things about Legendia in that it has complex female characters and deals with heavier themes like Abyss does (and… that it’s Miyajima’s favorite game in the series lolol) but I don’t know much else about it. I keep meaning to try it, but that would require me to stop thinking about Abyss for five seconds which I NEVER DO

Gives a grilled cheese to the corals. Doesn’t explain any further. Leaves

*The Corals smell it before they see it. One of their favorite foods of all time- grilled cheese! The striped lamias descend on the still-warm offering like ravenous wolves. Some of them are, in fact, howling with joy.

*Golden fangs sink into crispy, golden, buttered, toasted bread, tearing into the delicious crunch to free the ooey, gooey cheese trapped inside. The cheese pulls apart in perfect melty strings that stick to greedy little faces and hands.

*Even the Coral hatchlings are in on the grilled cheese action as Edgar supervises their snack attack, eye socket twitching as he sees them getting more cheese on them than in them. Ah well, that's what bath time is for!

*When the Corals have finished their grilled cheese goodness, not a single crumb remains. If you hadn't seen the event with your own eyes, you'd never believe a sandwich had existed at all!
