swagger SDMP day 6 highlights - swagger takes a tour of all of the new builds around spawn. he runs into berdboi and learns about the dice gamble. he wins a diamond block! (this is foreshadowing for the rest of the stream).
- swagger smokes with yahiamice, krinios, and lark. antvenom runs into them and is immediately given a blunt and a lighter. (feel free to screenshot this pic goes hard)
Tumblr media
- swagger learns about the HOA, and realizes the hasherdabbery hasn't been evaluated yet. he talks to schlatt and gives him a tour of the place, but doesn't get a rating as captainsparklez is offline. - captainsparklez endorsed the hasherdabbery and is now creating "a conflict of interest" and a lot of red tape for schlatt to navigate through. however, as swagger says, "the fun is in the corruption," and schlatt cuts a deal with him. he threatens swagger that if he ever crosses him, he'll "get bitchy" about it (whatever that means). - swagger and berd go on an adventure, which is about as much of a chaotic mess and you could imagine. the rest of the stream is dedicated to gambling on dice. notably, schlatt misses a 50/50 5 times in a row (a 3.125% chance), losing 64 diamonds to berd.

mitsuya adds a little comment under the ss of hoa moms business going “not sure the other moms would be too happy if they found out about this. what would your husband think?”
hoa mom knows it was mitsuya and honestly, she would be too dumb not to realize he’s blackmailing her so she’s angry at his door step and he goes “look. leave my wife alone or these screenshots get out.” and then slams the door in her face. if she doesn’t stop after that, then surely the black mail being sent to her relatives and friends will stop her 🤷‍♂️

Yo, what do you use to make your Gifs? Seems like everyone else has gifs that look amazing. Even on my highest "quality" setting. They still post looking like a bunch pixels that wants to know if it looks like it knows what a Jpeg is.
Hey! I'm not sure about the exact result just from the description lol but gifs can turn blurry or lower quality because of various reasons. On Tumblr, it might be caused by the dimensions of the gif. For one gif on a row, the max size used to be 500 pixels, now it's 540. (This post has a quick overview.) If it exceeds that width, the gif will appear more blurry. Tumblr also compresses gifs if the file sizes are between 5-10 MB, though I have no idea how/if that effects the quality tbh.
The size of the video/screenshots you work with is also important. Since I have a copy of HoA, I record my own gameplay of it with 2304 x 1440 dimensions. An 8 min video with those dimensions has a file size of like 1 GB, and 1 screenshot has a file size of 1-2 MB, but it helps being able to gif only a small part of a scene and with image quality in general. Tbh I'd love to freely share either video or screenshots with other folks for editing purposes, in a way where people can just nab them if they wanna, but the file sizes make it difficult.
Probably unnecessary to add, but anyway: within the game, you can also set various image quality options to a higher or lower quality, so if your computer can handle it I recommend putting those settings as HQ as they can go.
Another important factor is not to oversharpen or undersharpen the images. If I crop out a lot of the canvas I usually sharpen it once, and if I keep almost the full image in the gif I sometimes sharpen it twice (in steps, eg first reduce the image size from 1400 x 1400 to 950 x 950, sharpen, then reduce the image to 540 x 540 and sharpen again). But that really depends on how the final result looks. More advanced folks use more detailed ways of sharpening (such as Smart Sharpen... or Unsharp Mask... in Photoshop) but personally, I stick to regular sharpening since it looks nice enough too and it's 1 click, as opposed to sliding the bars around to find the exact result I want.
I don't think doing 1 of these points wrong will lead to a horrible quality, but combining all of the bad points may lead to very blurry or pixelated gifs.
For recording I use what Windows has (by hitting Windows + Alt + R), for screenshots I use VLC media player, and for editing PS.
And for anyone looking to get into editing or giffing without PS: Photopea is an online website that emulates a lot of PS functions. The gif and text functions are sadly still a bit limited compared to PS, but it's free, doesn't even require an account, and it does incredible work imo <3
Lemme know if anything's unclear or if you have any other questions. (Same goes for other folks, I love seeing people's HoA edits, and if I can help anyone looking to start with that process I'm happy to)

In my area there is a lot of things called "planned communities" or some shit, sounds culty and/or bougie as hell, and while it can be sometimes it's a lot cheaper to get a house built in one than buying a beat down house that already exists & not in one of these neighborhoods (sound crazy how it's the cheapest option? I thought so too, but it's why I ended up in one of them). A lot of these are managed by this strange thing called "HOA management companies" that arent really HOAs in the sense that they can walk around patrolling if your breaking rules because they're not even based in the area, rather they are some shadowy 3rd party that makes us pay them for upkeep or some shit. Another thing about these communities, is the town they are in is very large. Considering the town can take 45 minutes- an hour to drive across, it's easier to say which specific/community area you're from (regardless if you live in one of those weird planned communities or not) rather than the town because that's just vague as all hell (like oh I'm from Southern Highlands! Or Enterprise! Or Silverado! Or Greenvalley! Or whatever fuckin else). None of those examples are something thatd be on an official address, but it simplifies telling someone exactly where you live (like if I'm at work and they're talking about how long it takes to get to work, just saying the official town name could mean that the commute could be anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour).
Anyway, I'm explaining all this weird shit as background to a very petty drama going on in one of these bougie communities. This community it's uh.. how do you put it. It's very cliquey. They dont like outsiders. Which is petty on it's own because as I explained, it's part of the town. I'm not talking about the residential areas here. There's a Smith's, fast food places, you know as most towns do. Damn, there's the labcorp I have to go to, and when I go and one of them see me, daggers. If looks could kill I'd be dead because it's like they got the 6th sense for outsiders.
Now onto the target. A new restaurant apparently opened up. The people were not happy. And yes ya girl got the screenshots. Very old and I cant find the post now, but I got atleast some.

And this more recent one.
Tumblr media
One resident had an attempt of an explanation, but I don't speak bougie douchebag so it just is glabbering nonsense to me.
Tumblr media
But this post, so long I couldnt even screenshot it, is what reignited my interest in this petty nonsense rich people drama (and no, this is not the only drama)
"THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM
On a previous post neighbor (name redacted) in an exchange with another neighbor touted the virtues of Yorktown as a new way of doing things with a company that turned things around at Buckman's Here is a partial quote.
"This is a different way of doing it. We are operating the restaurant and it needs to be professionally managed and we are using a company with a wonderful record of doing this with other similar places. They turned Buckman's and Revere from money loses into profitable operations."
Here is my response.
(Name redacted) They are a good company. The way they turned Buckman's around was with private events. Check what % of their business and profitability comes from private events. And why did it need to be turned around? BIG QUESTION! The answer is that the golfers and pedestrian traffic were not enough. BIG CLUE! And many times the events caused the retail restaurant business to be closed to accommodate the event. Yorktown isn't even set up in first year for event business and rejects non residents' business also. Also catering was touted as big for Yorktown but look at the SCA budget. Zero revenue and personnel in year 1. So yes it is a "different" way of doing it with "US" on the hook with incredible deficit financing. So biggest factor in year 1 for success according to the plan and thinking is foot traffic and pedestrian retail customers and our board projects success as a $316,800 loss.
That isn't different from the past. So in the long run if Yorktown doesn't attract a regular base that spends a decent average check size it will be destined the same as the others. It's a big bet, a big gamble and maybe it works but the risk is enormous and the likelihood of long term success just doesn't make a lot of sense. Those that back it are wishful thinkers. Those that support it are wishful thinkers. Wishful thinking is ok if you are risking your own capital.
But when leaders with fiduciary responsibility force their pet project and wishful thinking and HUGE deficit financing on an entire community expect a bad result in the long run.
The only way this salvages is if the wishful patrons( who I believe are a minority) step up spending thousands of their $$$ each year and every year to support the "amenity". I think you have heard the expression," Putting your money where your mouth is." Our dear neighbors are going to have to do exactly that for this to work. And they will have to do it every year. Hopefully we get accurate and complete monthly accountings to measure the results."
Which led me to snarkily make my own post, simply stating "I had nextdoor uninstalled for a while but ultimately what brought me back is my nosy ass wondering if Anthem is still mad about that restaurant.
Conclusion: they are. I barely understand it, but lord I live for drama I have no business in."

I have now finished posting Buffy screenshots! I may or may not watch Angel the Series and do a similar spate of screenshots, but I will likely set up a different blog for that, as this is now going to be a blog solely for my person stuff, which I will begin shortly (probably in a few days or later this day). In any case, it’s the day before New Years, so with that in mind if I don’t end up posting anything more on New Years,

Since you make some cute art, can you tell me what is the hardest thing to draw for you?
And what is the thing you'd like to draw someday? (A fight scene, weapons, etc...)
*gaaassspppppppp* I'm gon ramble, but tl;dr version up here.
Everything. If I had to pick one thing though, I'd probably say faces. I've come to terms with my oven-mitt hands 😅
Hmmm the thing to draw someday? Like something on my to-do list or like an art goal piece? 🤔 My "to-draw" list is so long, but it's mostly just funny memes/incorrect quotes/situations to be redrawn as chibi comics. On a more serious note, art 'goal' pieces would probably be snapshots of fics I looovveee. Sort of as a 'thank you' to fic authors for being able to paint such a vivid image in my pea brain with their amazing words (and hopefully to make up for me not always commenting orz).
Ramble time c:
Drawing used to be a lot easier for me. I would sketch 2-3 pages every night, line/color half of those sketches, and post them along with quick work doodles. Now I think I'm being hard on myself. Since I'm currently obsessed with HOA and the characters are much more realistic, I get pretty demotivated when I can't capture their likeliness. So, Thank you for calling my art cute ;A; I was pretty afraid of posting in the beginning since I oversimplified all the characters' faces (I still do, but potato potathoe).
Fun fact: I have a written and electronic list of my 'to-draws'. AND they both contain different things because why would I make it easy for myself? 😁 My electronic list is actually my tumblr drafts x'D Current count: 240. For the written ones, I grabbed a few scrap pages of the ideas-- theres a small journal at work too. (Yes, I am an absolute creep who writes people screen names down;; In my defense, my memory is absolute garbage and it'll help me give proper credit if/when I do draw and post it). For the fic redraw list, it's just (so far, 88) screenshots of the fic passage.

Thank you for the ask, and thank you to anyone who read all the way through! 💛

[ad_1] The Hammocks nonetheless is at a crossroads over the long run management of the householders affiliation, together with over the extent of energy the receiver ought to retain. At a two-plus-hour court docket listening to on Thursday, householders aired their grievances in opposition to HOA receiver David Gersten, largely over the charges Gersten and his crew have charged to the HOA. Residents who help Gersten countered that the opposition is rooted in outdoors attorneys in search of to get the recipient out of the way in which and scoop up contracts with the HOA. Miami-Dade Circuit Choose Beatrice Butchko did not difficulty an official order on Gersten's transition plan on the listening to. However her feedback from her in court docket hinted that she shares the receiver's view that if he's discharged too quickly, the HOA may return again into mismanagement and fraud. The Hammocks, a 3,800-acre group in West Kendall that is dwelling to roughly 18,000 residents, is one among Florida's greatest HOAs. In November 2022, 4 ex-board members and a fifth individual have been arrested on expenses they ran a large fraud scheme that amusing assessments to their very own pockets. Gersten, appointed as receiver by the court docket after the arrests, and his crew of attorneys and forensic accountants have been overseeing Hammocks affairs. “The best way I view this affiliation is akin to an entity with a illness. A horrible, horrible illness. It had a most cancers,” Butchko stated. “And it is in remission. And it might have a relapse. “I would just like the wheels to be transferring in a optimistic route underneath the monitoring of the receiver.” In Gersten's energy transition plan, he proposes that he stay as recipient solely to resolve lawsuits and insurance coverage claims he has filed on behalf of the HOA. For all different affairs, he would stay as court-appointed monitor, ranging from June a minimum of by means of year-end. Individually, Butchko has already accepted Gersten to stay as election monitor till the court docket “is glad that the affiliation's elections are totally protected and don't require outdoors oversight,” in accordance with court docket data. A significant sticking level has been the receiver's expenses to the HOA. To date, Butchko has accepted greater than $2.5 million in funds to his receiver and his crew, and is but to determine on a request for one more $638,876, which might deliver the whole to $3.2 million. “A minimum of 70 % or 80 % of the folks we've been speaking to [to] have been sharing their considerations concerning the authorized bills,” Hammocks house owner Carlos Villalobos stated on the listening to, including that Gersten's legal professional crew has been charging for administrative work. “We have been charged $300 for a screenshot of a map taken from Google. …The Hammocks have offered automobiles to [used car dealerships] Carvana and CarMax. There are pages and pages of expenses to promote these automobiles.” “In an ideal world, may a paralegal have finished that? Yeah, however I would not have felt snug. “I do not know concerning the map,” Butchko stated, although she reiterated her confidence in Gersten and his crew. “I simply belief the judgment of those folks.” Melanie Damian, an legal professional representing Gersten, had been mum concerning the opposition prior to now, however laid out the receiver's place on the listening to. When the receiver was first appointed, he and his crew needed to hearth about 50 HOA workers and all distributors as a result of they “could not belief” that they weren't concerned within the alleged fraud, Damian stated. Earlier than new workers and distributors have been employed, the receiver and his attorneys needed to deal with administrative duties themselves, together with promoting extra HOA property corresponding to automobiles, in a push to get well as a lot cash as they might for the Hammocks. “I bodily went to promote the automobiles, and it took means longer than I anticipated.
I spent hours on a Saturday,” she stated. Damian additionally defended the remainder of the receiver's expenses: For perspective, the Hammocks spent $2.6 million for attorneys in 11 months in 2022 in the course of the rule of the criminally charged board, which means cash was allegedly siphoned out of HOA accounts throughout that point, she stated. Out of the $3.2 million the recipient and his crew have charged the HOA, $372,000 was for forensic accountants that needed to untangle the net of fund transfers by some former board members throughout over 50 financial institution accounts and bank cards. One other $60,000 was for the recipient to arrange a hotline for residents. Gersten and his attorneys additionally charged $500,000 to pursue a legal legal responsibility insurance coverage declare, and to sue former HOA attorneys and distributors, corresponding to safety guards and accountants, over allegations they have been in cahoots with the criminally charged board members, Damian stated. That litigation has led to settlements recovering almost $3.9 million for the Hammocks. Now that the forensic accountants' work is completed, and Gersten has employed a property supervisor and different contractors for the HOA, the recipient's expenses to the Hammocks ought to drop, Damian stated. Home-owner Don Kearns, a present Hammocks advisory board member, referred to as on the choose to approve Gersten's transition plan. “A lot of the so-called controversy I imagine is fueled by a lawyer who I imagine is in fixed contact with dissenting board members, as a result of I used to be approached early on [by an outside attorney] asking to dissolve the recipientship,” he stated. “The oath I took was to help [residents] and never the ambition of a lawyer. “The overwhelming majority of householders are proud of the progress.” Different householders have echoed Kearns' remark that attorneys not concerned with the recipientship are approaching residents and providing to do Gersten's work for much less. “We're not crooks,” house owner Villalobos stated on the listening to. “You possibly can relaxation assured it is a utterly completely different group.” Learn extra The recipient's opponents' different complaints have been with mismanagement of the property, arguing that landscaping, sidewalks, swimming pools and customary areas stay in disrepair. Damian stated the receiver has employed, and remains to be hiring, contractors to restore the property. Butchko did take one suggestion to a home-owner made on the listening to: to retain a further election monitor who would work with Gersten and presumably proceed to supervise electrons as soon as Gersten is discharged. Nonetheless, she added, that will be one other value for the HOA. “That exterior company can monitor elections sooner or later,” house owner Todd Botner stated. Though the Hammocks now has a board, elected in April, it hasn't had full autonomy as HOA boards do, however has been working in an advisory capability to the recipient. The HOA will maintain its subsequent board election on Feb. 29. [ad_2] Supply hyperlink

I have had a bad-enough day, as is...
Today our internet went out for about five hours in the afternoon. As I was searching for networks, a local one popped-up with a very bigoted message! I was honestly shocked at how some coward would hide behind anonymity and say such a horrible thing. I took a screenshot and sent a formal complaint to the good-for-nothing HOA. I can't imagine someone seeing such an awful message. Or worse, what if a child did, especially one from that religious tradition!
