One fancast for another live action adaptation of THG. I was thinking about how Johanna is described as having wide-set eyes and that made me think of how perfect Anya Taylor-Joy would be for Johanna. I can believe she'd have been able to pull off the scared, weepy girl act Johanna did after being reaped as well as Johanna's anger and pain we see in CF and MJ. A good dye job would make her literally the perfect Johanna.

I don’t have much to contribute to the Hunger Games fancast but Tanaya Beatty is how I imagine Katniss looking! She’s 32 now but I believe these are photos from her early 20s. She’s appeared in the Twilight Saga and tv show Yellowstone.
I’m also very on board with the Kit Conner as Peeta agenda.

Nicola Coughlan as Delly Cartwright
In my head Katniss described Delly as kind of like Nicola...circa the Derry Girls.
Sometimes I think people like Madge more because she is described as a beauty queen. And humans are hardwired to like someone who looks pretty.
Delly is the un-Madge.
The way Katniss dismissively describes her you see her as a pasty-faced girl with bad hair...(possibly round like me). I've seen a lot of people make her the bad guy, because of the way Katniss describes her.
But Delly with her frazzled yellow hair, went toe to toe with a highjacked Peeta, spouting all of Katniss's virtues. She was an official Everlark Shipper lol from the beginning.

A little bit different of a fancast for today, but I haven't been able to get the idea of an animated Hunger Games series out of my head for months now. So I propose not a traditional acting cast of the Hunger Games characters, but a voice cast. I have a bit of a bias for musical theater actors, but can I help it that they are literally some of the most talented people out there?
Starting off with Katniss. Obviously, we need a singer! Even if she only canonically sings a handful of times, even speaking she should have the vocal control of a singer. For that reason, I'm picking Ariana Debose. She's had voice acting experience with Disney in their upcoming film Wish and won and Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in West Side Story so she's clearly very talented and has experience in voice acting. I would be just as happy with Eva Noblezada as Katniss. She's a Tony-nominated actress who did a movie starring as a country singer (Yellow Rose), so she's shown she can do a Southern accent should this hypothetical series really go for the Appalachian aspect to D12 (which they should). And she's Filipino-Mexican American. Really either of these women would be amazing as a voice actress for Katniss.
Now Peeta. We need someone charming and genuine. And one of people who came to mind and really stuck there is Jordan Fisher, who's starred in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway in the title role and is currently in Sweeney Todd, but would likely be most recognized by his role in To All The Boys: P.S. I Love You as John Ambrose. He also has some experience voice acting with various projects. Here's some clips of him as John Ambrose:

So just imagine these voices coming out of animated characters drawn to look like Katniss and Peeta, in a series with time to tell the story properly, and tell me that wouldn't be the absolute most amazing thing ever.

@mega-aulover here are my two cents!
First off: Katniss! I love Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss. She did a great job. But I would never cast her as Katniss, even after seeing the good job she did. A lot of people fancast Hailee Steinfeld, and I agree. But I'm going to make another suggestion: Sky Katz. (not your obvious choice, but tell me, doesn't she have total Katniss vibes?)

2. Peeta
I would totally cast Josh Hutcherson again if I could, sketchy dye job and all. But for the sake of choosing someone different, a young Charlie Hunnam would be great. He has the perfect built for Peeta, plus the hair. THE HAIR!

Caesar Flickerman Recast: Taika Waititi or Zachary Quinto / @mega-aulover
I don’t stand for my fav looking like a smurf or having his wig move about throughout the production, so let’s imagine someone else:
Taika Waititi is great because his past roles indicate he carries the fun and yet obscure quite well--both which could bring a new light to Caesar in a film production. I also like the implication of Caesar being possibly non-white/brown (the line about him trying to look white(er)). Him taking a liking to Katniss would have a different nuance if they were both indigenous.
Zachary Quinto is a great fit because he’s still fairly close (them Italian genes), but also can carry a depth with him that Caesar might need for the ambiguity to be present. He’s got a great voice and laugh that can fit to being a host. Where Taika might be more outgoing, Zachary can carry a more humble and laidback attitude that greatly fits into Katniss’ observation of Caesar being kind to all tributes.
