Listen to me. Listen. Shut the fuck up. The point of the pieces is you DIDN’T do it. Someone else did, and whether you understand their nuance or lack thereof does not mean you get to sit there and tell yourself you can do it bc YOUUUUU MOST LIKELY DO NOT HAVE THE SAME THOUGHTS, FEELINGS, AND SKILLSETS AS THAT ARTIST

I get it -- there are artists I can’t stand, I HATE a lot of artistic periods because a lot of it feels ingenuine BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN ITS NOT GENUINE 

Maybe I’m dramatic maybe the people in these posts and videos are indeed educated, knowledgable art majors or scholars or even just FANS of art who know the backgrounds of the paintings and are making a little jokey joke but something about it grinds my gears in that sense of superiority within those who DONT do art.

it’s SO easy for people to claim they can do exactly what a lot of artists do and it is SO devaluing of the years and years of work, development and education a lot of artists go through to find their place in art and feel confident of what they’re producing whether its personal or not 

my point is the next time you want to scoff at something that seems easy to you, just remember this

you didn’t do it. the end. you can’t or wont’t do it, whichever.
