Got Nearl to E2, and I’m currently working on Gladiia, since I already have most of her E2 materials, just need her chip packs.
After Gladiia, it’ll probably be either Specter or Lumen that I work on. Or maybe Cuora or Texas. I’ve got a few different ones to work towards.
I hope Nearl is a good unit to E2, she’s the healing defender I usually go for, so I would hope so.

Hello my fellow ghost, I have this idea that came to my mind while reading some crack sites, imagine a Creator! Reader irritated, did not sleep well, a lot of work any excuse and goes for a walk to clear his mind, then simply sticks on the little finger with some object.
He shouts: FOR THE NAME OF!!, I AM STAR TO SERIUSLY CONSIDERING ERASE (nation in which it is) OF THE MAP.
Along with another irrelevant insult, then how would they react if some acolyte is near or even better the archons of a certain nation. I don't know, I laughed for myself thinking about this and I do not know if you will also find it funny.
In any case if you do not feel free to ignore or if you want some idea to write the priv is available. Bird says goodbye
Hello, @pajarokujo ! Though I do not see the humor, I can get what you're going for! (Is this how Tighnari and Collei feel when Cyno cracks a joke?— /lh)
I'll just do the Archons for this since I think they'd have the best reactions LOL
Venti, Zhongli, Raiden Ei, Nahida, and Furina Reacting to Reader's Tantrum
You were a little furious. You hadn't mean what you said, but in the attempt to calm yourself down, you jabbed at one part of the map and screamed, "THIS NATION. I WANT IT DECIMATED. PERMANENTLY." forgetting completely that you were the Creator and your booming voice could be practically heard by everyone.
Yes...they're panicking.
(Warning: Might Be OOC & Written Before 4.1 Special Program!)
Venti
Wisp boy is now panicked wisp boy. He ain't gonna stop trying to find a solution to save Mondstadt from your wrath until he drops dead. Quite literally.
Man, this bard is going crazy—all of his ballads have a slight air of panic to it, since everyone practically heard your threat from beyond the heavens.
So when you practically run into Mondstadt to personally reassure everyone that you aren't going to decimate the nation, Venti immediately sees your presence as his doom. He tries to keep it cool, and it sort of works? (It doesn't)
"AHAHA, YOUR GRACE!~ COME JOIN THIS HUMBLE BARD TO SEE THE GREAT TREE OF VANESSA!" "Venti, I swear to you, I—" "YOUR GRACE, IT'S WORTH IT PLEASE—"
Yeah, he's not taking the news well. But at least he'll collapse from relief knowing Mondstadt wasn't in danger after you clear up your mistake so yeah 👍 Good job, Creator!
Zhongli
The moment he hears you say that, this man is both protective over his baby (his nation) and hella scared of what the heck you're going to do to erase the Geo Nation off of the map.
When you try to enter Liyue, you "coincidentally" bump into Zhongli who tries to distract and stall you from your "objective," while also try and figure out your motive.
"Your Grace, may you please accompany me to Jueyun Karst? I believe the view there might be well, and I am in need of finding Jueyun chilis." "Zhongli, I—" "Thank you, Your Grace. Please, accompany me."
He does his absolute best to prove to you that Liyue is not a nation worth decimating for. When he hears that it was all just a misunderstanding and that, no, you weren't planning on destroying Liyue at all, he sighs in relief and decides to treat you all to tea.
Even you know y'all need it.
Raiden Ei
Gurl's not having a good time. It's almost like pre-Inazuma Archon Quest all over again. Ei's doing her best to make sure that Inazuma is the most well-behaved nation and yeah, it's kind of a disaster
The moment you step foot into Inazuma, you immediately sent to Tenshukaku to talk to Raiden Ei. She's even got Yae Miko on board with this—they cannot afford to lose Inazuma.
"Your Grace, please listen." "Ei, please—" "Inazuma has diligently followed all your orders, and we will continue to do so if you bless our nation with the chance to continue to thrive." Ei is almost going back to a similar state of being "close to the heavenly principles," only except she's here in the present and not in her eternal meditation.
The moment you get her to hear you out and that, no, Inazuma's not going anywhere, she nearly deflates on the spot. But, as she's the Raiden Shogun, she tries her best to stay composed.
Nevertheless, she's forever relieved that Inazuma is still favored by you.
Nahida
Like the others, she panics. While she is heavily worried about her subjects, and how they're faring, she has to leave that to the Akademiya's Grand Sage while she tries her best to find the reason as to why you want to decimate Sumeru.
She's heavily in thought and the moment you barge into the Sanctuary of Surasthana, Nahida immediately panics, thinking this is the end—the time you tell her to step down and watch Sumeru fall. Nevertheless, she wants Sumeru to live, and she tries to put up a fight.
"Your Grace, please tell me—what is it that made you hate Sumeru?" "Nahida, please...." "We've done nothing wrong, as far as I am aware of. Is there something that was done that makes you think Sumeru betrayed you?" She's determined to not only stall, but get you to tell your (non-existent) reasoning as to why you want Sumeru destroyed.
She's probably the easiest archon that you will be able to tell them that it was not true, and when Nahida hears this, she is both relieved, overjoyed, and making a mental note of your temperament.
Yes, she's going to five you her research about how to deal with your mood. Have fun!~
Furina
Boy oh boy...if you thought Venti was dramatic, Furina goes FULL ON dramatic. The moment she hears this, it's almost like the prophecy all over again. She panics, and she immediately demands that the charges against criminals become more brutal, and that their theatrics and soap opera are to be only top-peak level. (Neuvillette's getting a headache dealing with her, you can tell—)
When you manage to get to Fontaine, you almost don't even recognize it. The citizens are so quiet when you arrived, and moving away from you respectively as Furina immediately rushes forward and whisks you away to the Opera Epiclese to entertain you.
"Furina, please listen—" "Don't you worry about a thing, Your Grace, for I, Focalors, shall show you how Fontaine will regain your approval through their justice, and through their opera!" "Furina—" "Please, Your Grace, rejoice in our spectacles, and enjoy the feast that is brought to your majesticness!"
We know all too well that Furina is a good actor. And this situation really proves how much she's hiding her panic, despite the fact that it's killing her. She's probably the most difficult, a little above Ei, archon that will hear you out about your accidental temperament.
When you somehow manage to get Furina to listen, she immediately deflates on the spot, before immediately putting back on her elegant posture. She asks Neuvillette to go back to normal charges, and she lowers the bar for the stories, allowing her subjects the breathing room that they're used to.
She treats you to Fontaine desserts, so win-win, yeah?
And we're done! I hope you guys enjoyed it lol—See you next time! :D

i have not gone through the stream vod of arknights, but did you enjoy eblana and her not-quite-that-much-fucked-up-evilitude?
We didn't read that in the stream but I did read that after the stream by myself and I Liked The Event quite a bit!
It goes without saying that I went into it with a lot of enthusiasm because I've loved Reed as a character since her release, and I really wanted to know What Was Her Deal. We get some of it in the main story, since she's tied to the Victoria arc, but her getting an event specifically as a new character in another class is fascinating because it would, logically speaking, serve as a character piece more so than a big stakes event. This is what was delivered, so I couldn't be happier.
It's not that I dislike big stakes or grander scale stories in Arknights -- the Abyssal Hunters arc and the Sui arc are my favorites! -- it's just, sometimes, I really want to know more about the characters more so than everything that surrounds them. Character pieces help understand the grander scale with a lot more emotional weight, because if done right, I'm now emotionally invested in the character and their overarching goal, not just the goal as the framework for the story. For example, 'Maria Nearl' was first and foremost a character piece, which then informs the overarching Kazimierz arc, so by the time Near Light rolls in, not only do I know what we're fighting for, I know who we're fighting for and why we are doing so, I know Maria's motivations, efforts, struggles, and trials, and so, I am invested in wanting to see her succeed. 'Maria Nearl' being a character piece doesn't mean it ONLY centered on Maria and nothing else, it sets up the scene and the cast, but through the lens of someone in the story as opposed to through the effects of events in the story.
What The Firelight Casts does a little inversion in the overall structure compared to 'Maria Nearl': It's a character piece after the bigger scale narrative. We know what the bigger picture is... But what about this key character in the whole story? And will knowing about this character recontextualize or add even more meat to what we already know? With this in mind, let's talk about it:
Reed detests her circumstances, because Reed had very simple, domestic desires: She wanted a simple, quiet life reading and writing poetry, immersing herself in words and stories. She didn't have any grander aspirations, experiences, or desires beyond "loving poetry" because she was a simple child when she got her head pushed under an ocean of conspiracies and was drowned in them. Since she didn't have the strength of character to really do anything in such a horrifying world, her sister, Eblana, endowed with far stronger character, made her her body double. Reed never questioned it, because she had nothing else going on for her, but the more atrocities she was forced to commit as "The Leader", the more she hated it, and herself for not having it in her to stand up to Dublinn.
Hence why she attempted suicide via standing in an open field that was currently being bombarded. In a turn of events she couldn't have predicted, she was saved by Outcast, and was sent to Rhodes for recovery. She then spent some time in Rhodes Island, recovering, but also, learning. It's noted in her Files that she'd spend a significant amount of time pestering the medical teams in RI for knowledge in the clinical fields. She also requested a new weapon to her specifications, because she hates her spear. This may seem a matter of preference, until you realize that the spear is just Eblana's old weapon, just furthering exactly how much of an un-person she was. She'd use her sister's name, her sister's title, her sister's reputation, her sister's authority, even her sister's damn weapon.
Her chosen codename, "Reed", comes as no surprise: She explicitly says it's because that's how she is: Bland, an accessory, unremarkable, insignificant, like reeds by the river. In this event, we also learn another reason why "Reed" is apt for Loughshinny: Uncontrollably flammable if set ablaze.
Reed was terrified of her own powers. She is a direct descendant of the Red Dragon of Tara, and has insane innate power, namely, power over life itself: The way her flames work is explicitly not fire-aspected Arts: Her Arts allow her to inject pure life into objects and creatures, and the consequence of overcharging skin, muscle tissue, etc with so much life energy so fast and strongly is that it becomes unstable and explodes into raw energy, generating fire as a consequence. It's also why parts of her body, like her tail and her chest, seem to be constantly "ablaze": She is literally overflowing with the essence of life at all times, to the point it hurts her, and coming into contact with her means exploding. She is an almost perfect weapon. She hates it. Even her Rhodes Island evaluation files basically describe her as a stupidly powerful individual.
There's only one thing she doesn't regret about her time in Eblana's Dublinn: She really does care for Tarans, and wants to do anything in her power to help them. The reason she put up with being used and abused in Dublinn (about the only person that showed Reed any kindness in Dublinn was Harmonie, and even then she claims it's because she's interested in Reed and that she may have use for her) was because, Reed told herself, "at least it's for the Tarans". But Reed is not stupid, and over the time, realized that Eblana doesn't mind sacrificing countless Tarans that trust her if it means securing an advantage. That's when Reed decided she'd rather get blown to pieces by artillery rather than continue doing horrible things for someone that doesn't even care about the people that she claims to fight for.
Reed in the event is trying to help this very "little guy", this very scorned Taran, find a foothold. Her story here is, by all means, low stakes for the most part, but it's important in understanding who Reed has finally resolved to become: Her time in Rhodes Island and her new Arts unit allows her to far, far more precisely control her Arts, and now she can use VERY controlled bursts of her Arts to inject life into others without sending their living tissue into disarray, effectively becoming a potent healer. The wounded Tarans even remark that while she didn't give them the most involved treatment for their wounds, they still felt as good as new: It's because Reed isn't doing more than basic first aid, and using this as a disguise to her carefully injecting their wounds with life energy. For Reed, this is massive: She's finally able to like her innate Arts, an intrinsic part of herself, for the first time, because she's finally not using it to turn people to ashes or make them violently explode. She can finally do things differently, and without Eblana pulling her strings, she's finally able to do as she wishes. She ends up creating her very own "Dublinn", with a few Tarans, and looks to the future to do what she never thought she could do, and that's what I really loved: It's a small scale event, but it makes it very clear that from here on, Reed not only has a purpose, she has agency over herself, and finally, finally, she is her own person.
The final "map" of the event was fantastic, narratively speaking: It's a fight with Eblana entirely within her mind, with Eblana wearing a mask in the first phase. Eblana's mechanics involve killing her own units to empower herself, representative of how she's completely willing to kill Tarans for the purposes of Dublinn without any regret, then, in the second phase, she discards her mask and sets every reed in the map ablaze: No matter how much Eblana speaks of loving her and saying she's important to her, Reed has finally come to terms that Eblana WILL simply sacrifice even her when the moment comes, just as she has no issue setting the world on flames if it furthers her desires. The entirety of the map is just Reed finally coming to terms that if she wants to help the Tarans, in her way, she inevitably will come to blows with Eblana at some point, and that there's no space for hesitation, because Eblana sure as hell won't hesitate.
What The Firelight Casts is ultimately a high-impact bildungsroman in which our protagonist finally finds herself, perhaps for the first time ever since she was a toddler, and finally has agency over what she does and why she does it.
There's other parts to the event that I'm not covering that I think were great as well, such as Bagpipe's characterization being pretty damn good and once more winning me over (I started not really caring for her in any way, but her writing is something I like a lot) with how she's clearly not book smart, but is sharp as all hell, and most would call her "naive", when in reality, it's that she has a rock-hard moral compass and will NEVER stop going where it tells her to go, as well as the Taran survivors having plenty of nice scenes, including the incredibly chilling scene where the older lady that can't see in the dark is holding onto Selmon's hand and suddenly she can feel Selmon's blood all over her arm... We just never know what actually it is that killed her in that night skirmish. Fionn's characterization as this cowardly but good chum that will take responsibility no matter what is... Honestly, man, if you hang around sectors with low education and wealth, you know a Fionn or two. Especially when it comes to oppressed and displaced peoples... And the way the narrative portrays the opportunistic and almost callous nature of a bunch of the Taran runaways at times without vilifying it? It's great, the narrative immediately points out, through Reed and Fionn, that yeah, it's just natural because of how awful they've been treated their entire life, there's always people like that in such groups, doing it not out of cruelty, but simply because, damn, they have to survive, and nothing guarantees to them that this stranger with good intentions actually had good intentions. Trying to survive does things to people. This all becomes water under the bridge after Reed properly bonds with them.
I focused on Reed with this post because she's a favorite of mine and I'm happy to see her growth and where she's aiming for, and how she's grown narratively through her experiences and how that reflects on her Arts: True, Arts are a cool power in the narrative, but for Reed, it's more about how her Arts are intrinsically to her self-loathing in the past, and how they reflect her growth as a person: She went from a reluctant walking nuke who could only destroy and justified this by simply saying "it's because my sister knows better and she's doing it for the end goal of the well-being of Tarans... The end justifies the means" to someone who uses her almost unique powers to soothe others after learning some control over them, control that causes physical pain to her, as controlling her immense power feels as if she's searing from the inside, as if her organs were on fire, and comes to believe that, no, the means do in fact matter a whole damn lot, and that she'll one way or another achieve the end while being mindful of the means, even if it means suffering, if it's for her people. Eblana, who also can control life, uses her powers to 'resurrect' and control the dead like puppets, whereas Reed now sears herself from within in order to precisely control this power in order to help those she wants to protect, and drive away those who would hurt her or her friends. In what's a bit of a segregation of narrative and gameplay, whereas she's known for Explosions in gameplay, in the event, Reed exclusively fights with martial arts. In fact, the only time when she actually uses her Arts, she has to suppress them instantly or she was going to just completely incinerate everyone around her. She turns her surroundings to ashes so quickly that Ch'en can only just stare, wide-eyed, at how she completely incinerated a complete installation of military tents in less than a second, with just a small release of her power.
It's great! I love Reed! I wanted to see her growth, a piece focused on her, and it's what I got. I want to know more about the most loving and caring walking nuclear missile in the world with the most hypnotic tail swishes.

I'm high and extremely emotional about Livinia Falcone (Penance) being the such a great complement and contrast to Margaret Nearl. It's like... so apparent. It had to be intentional or it's just a genius coincidence. This'll be long because I ramble, but please bear with me.
Like, first off,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, you have the obvious white-black contrast in their outfits. You also have the contrast in their weapons, a nimble swordspear and a heavy hammer OF JUSTICE (and it might be cheating to mention that Nearl has long hair and Penance has short hair) (EDIT: I forgot her braid sorry), but then, then! You have the compliments! The glowing dagger in Nearl's hand, the codex in Penance's.
You also have like, the way their backstories complement each other in certain ways. Nearl was a competition knight, a hero to the masses and a symbol of safety and hope that was ultimately controlled by the interests of the bureaucracy. She was forced to leave her hometown, and live in the wilderness. Penance, on the other hand, is a judge. An enforcer of the law that supposedly keeps the people safe but was actually in the pocket of the Bellone famiglie. Despite doing everything she could, to believe in justice and try to uphold the law, she was shackled by her limitations especially to mafia affairs, even if she wasnt as tightly leashed by the Bellones and allowed to give guilty sentences sometimes. Both women were basically pawns to the powers that be in their countries, and it was an open secret that they weren't much more than that.
Where they differ is their outlook. Nearl's family motto, "Fear neither hardship nor darkness" lives through Margaret most visibly. She says it often, and she exemplifies what a platonic ideal of a knight would act like. She's noble, courageous, kind, she fights for what's right. She is uncompromising in her values but not close minded. It's beautiful and inspiring to see.
Penance is not so lucky. She's disillusioned. She has hope but it's faint and tricky. By the end of Il Siracusano she's ready to leave Siracusa behind and try to atone for her past inadequacy (hence her Operator name). She is a woman with honor that had to be compromised. She drinks, and apparently to blackout sometimes. Her codex, the toke of law she values so much, is literally bound in thorny vines and can in fact prick her. She's an idealist who had those ideals challenged, and while she didn't break, she did bend, and she has yet to recover.
Penance is the Tarnished Knight; a weapon of justice that was misused and as a result her faith in justice shaken, the hope that Don Bellone gave her in his final act a tenuous one and one that fosters complicated emotions. She fights for what's right, what's truly right this time, but she may never feel like she's cleansed herself of her previous wrongs. She fights for what she hopes is the right thing, for something to believe in. It's a realistic goal. She is beautifully tragic in that sense.
Nearl is the Radiant Knight; a symbol of hope that was discarded by her country and as a result found firm footing in her faith in the wilderness. She fights for what's right, affirmed in her beliefs by the Followers, by Rhodes Island. She fights for a better tomorrow, a very idealistic and optimistic outlook. It makes her all the more impossibly dazzling.

one really small touch to Viviana that I really love is how her crest changed now that she's playable before she just had the generic Kazimierz symbol. While now she has her own crest that even has her own name on it like the Nearl's crest it really sells that she's no longer fighting for them but is beginning to carve her own path in this world as a knight. But there's also the three lines that both the Nearl and Kazi crest has showing that she's still to some degree fighting under that tradition even if now it's for her own reason and beliefs.

TW // Mentions of grooming, sexual abuse, incest, abuse
So since you all saw my Danganronpa post on Korekiyo Shinguji like around 3-4 months ago, I decided I would try and explain more on Korekiyo and how he was groomed, manipulated, and sexually abused by his sister:
As I've said before, the way his sister acts is downright demanding and straightforward. We can see this by the way she acts in Korekiyo's altar:
"You mustn't become wavered, you mustn't become flustered." (Or something like that)
"Come on, Apologize. Apologize, apologize, apologize." (Not only the altar of her, but Korekiyo himself I think?)
"Sweet Korekiyo, there must be times where one admits defeat." (After Shuichi makes the final argument).
The way she acts is demanding, and even her gestures to Korekiyo seem controlling as well. For example, she made him wear something she made. This seems sweet at first, but Korekiyo says that she thought that his old outfit wasn't suitable for him, so made him a new one. She's also the one who got him into anthropology and even made him pursue his interests. Now that doesn't seem like much, but you need to remember that groomers exist. Groomers do small or big things for you, like listening to you talk, getting gifts, and whatnot. Groomers often observe their victim as well, so this was easy for Korekiyo's sister to do because she was older and related to him. She must've looked at Korekiyo's naivety. They also tend to sexualize relationships, like head patting and rubbing shoulders, things that aren't sexual regularly. You know why they do this? To desensitize the victim to their touch. They aren't always on the internet. Groomers usually hold some sort of power over their victim(s). They can be older. They can be a teacher. They can be higher up. They can even be an older family member. Now, why would she do this? So that she could live through him. Think about it, she was described as being ill. When she saw how interested her younger brother was in anthropology, she took this as an opportunity to live through him. However, she needed to convince him. So she began to do things for him, and began to isolate him, which is what groomers do. They isolate their victims so it's easier to gain control. Of course, she hurt him in a way nobody should ever be hurt. It was easier to do because Korekiyo looked up to her, and was becoming isolated. And who started the incestuous relationship? Not Korekiyo, but his sister. This caused Korekiyo to believe that his simple admiration was romantic love, when it wasn't actually love. When she died, he said he nearly went mad. This probably wouldn't have happened if he wasn't so isolated. Think about it. Say you're alone on an island, and have been alone for however long. You eventually find someone, and aren't alone anymore. But what about when they die? You'd probably either quickly or slowly start spiraling into madness. All of this caused him to believe that his sister became lonely again (because of her hospital visits and sickness, she was alone), and made him think that he has to kill 100 people he deems worthy as his sister's friends. The thing is he doesn't even call his sister by his name. He refers to her as "Sister" or feminine pronouns. Of course, this caused the whole fandom to think of names for her which I believe, one of them is "Miyaderi" or something like that. I actually called her Miya at one point while thinking of something I could call her.
He also has a love for ropes. But why? Well, it's also worth noting he's interested in rituals and whatnot. He must've believed that he could've brought her back, but to no avail. This could also tie back into the fact that he started killing people for her. Anyways, he explains at one point that he was doing fieldwork in a village for one of his visits (important because he's an anthropologist, which now I think about, makes the pursuing interests thing make sense), and the villagers had bound him so tight to the point he nearly passed out and then, proceeded to whip him. That was a near death experience, but he doesn't see it as that because that must've been where his alter came in. Alters form after traumatic events or after someone has had enough trauma to the point it causes a break in their reality. This led Korekiyo to believe that he had been reunited with her and held the incident in the village as something beautiful. If you were reunited with someone in let's say, Missouri, you'd probably love Missouri after.
So Korekiyo was groomed and abused by his sister. The thing is he probably doesn't realize it. Sometimes, victims of abuse don't realize they have been abused. Not every abuser knows automatically when a relationship of any kind is abuse. They don't always hate their abuser. Everyone has a different response to abuse. Another character that was abused by someone was Mikan Tsumiki. She was abused by Junko, yet stayed because she must've thought that "this is what love was. Junko is hurting me because she cares about me." (She was also severely bullied.) This is kind of the same thing for Korekiyo. He must've thought "Sister is doing all of this because she loves me. She cares about me," which she didn't and still doesn't. His sister also probably guilt tripped him by using her illness against him. He's a victim. He doesn't realize that, and it would take a lot to get him to realize a horrid truth. He couldn't heal, and probably still can't.
If anyone doesn't like Korekiyo, or deem him to be triggering, then I completely understand. You don't have to like him. I understand why he would be triggering. He grossed me out at first as well, especially since incest is wrong. There's almost always a reason why incestuous thoughts exist for some, but we must remember that people that were in those relationships were probably feeling trapped and unable to escape, and probably didn't know better at the time. It's important to help, talk, and do whatever we can to help get people out of such incestuous thoughts, or even relationships. We need to help them however we can. The same goes for abuse and grooming victims. We need to help them however we can, and make them understand whatever happened or is happening was/is wrong, otherwise something worse could happen. I wish that if Korekiyo survived for longer, then he could've realized that he was being used and his sister was terrible. Though, sadly, some people don't realize until it's too late, or never do.
Sorry for this long post, but yeah. I discovered everything thanks to other people, so thanks to them!

omg ask game hii
13 with Arknights; "Which canon or popular fanon relationship I can't stand or feel 'meh' about and why."
10 with Closure/Pudding; "Rate the level of stupid they reach in their pining."
7 with Quercus; "The scene that I think adds depth to their character or the relationship this character has with someone."
Thank you for the ask kiwi :D (and for including the questions LOL i keep losing them)
13. I don't really wanna be too mean.... one I've mentioned before: I'm not really a fan of Redblade/GG cuz it feels pretty forced/demeaning to GG by reducing her to a damsel... More controversially, I don't like nearlplat a lot... I think almost all of it, because Nearl and Platinum barely interact, kind of just reduces Platinum to Nearl's housewife. It's way too OOC for me In terms of canon relationships Fumizuki should divorce Wei Yenwu he doesn't deserve her
10. "Hello, I'm an electrical engineer from Columbia, codename… Well, Closure suddenly started calling me "Pudding", but I don't know if that's too weird…" SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS A PET NAME. 12/10 STUPID 7. Cheating, because it's not technically a canon scene (though the same point is pretty clearly made through her operator records), but oh my god - the comic Yuji did for her birthday... I think about it all the time... the weight of her time in the military and the efforts she's making to move on from it and help the world so people don't have to suffer through what she went through...
Tumblr media
You can see a similar sentiment in this section from her second operator record...

Shining Alter event let's goooooooooooo!!!!!!!
I want Shining Alter to be horrifically broken. Liberator that heals self and surrounding allies when not attacking. When Nightingale and/or Nearl is in the squad, increase base stats. Skill reduces enemy movement speed within attack range. Gains Shelter, deal True Damage. SP cost gets reduced from [x] activation onward. Lose HP but reduce attack interval. Let her powercreep Mlynar.
All that is hyperbole, but let's be real, if she's the only named character to to actually win an argument against Kal'tsit, I think she deserves to be overpowered.
Anything for Liz.

eunectes’ onboard line is really funny because she clearly wants to use zumama, her real name, as her codename, but she isn’t allowed to.
Tumblr media
then, in the same event, we recruit tomimi, and her codename is… tomimi.
and to name a few other operators whose codenames are their real names we have degenbrecher, młynar, angelina, fiammetta, gnosis, irene, lappland, dorothy, and a whole lot more.
fiammetta specifically is really funny because she just refuses to have a codename (good for her)
Tumblr media
there are even a few operators who have their surname as their codename, like texas, nearl, silence, and silverash (sure, he made his codename specifically SilverAsh and not Silverash, but he’s not fooling anybody).
so why wasn’t eunectes allowed to use her real name? she deserves justice

Any 4/5* you feel that are stuck between their stronger 6* and their more efficient 3/4*? I really like using Executor, but I often feel like Pinecone/Chalter (for a lack of better words) invalidate him.
Oh boy do I have some candidates
Reed
Reed has the great misfortune of being both an early, experimental unit, and being part of the Charger vanguards. Here's the thing, nearly all the Chargers are objectively great units with their high ATK, fast attack speed, and ability to refund their original DP cost. However, the issue is that no one really uses them, with the exception of Bagpipe, who acts as the mighty servant of the vanguard goddess, Myrtle.
Whenever a Charger DOES get used for actually doing their intended job of picking off trash for easy DP, the 3 star Plume does a swell job, while 4 star Vigna is just straight up hitting above her weight class by combining a big ATK buff with a crit talent.
This has made 5 star Chargers very sad as they're stuck between not being bagpipe while not being nearly as efficient as Vigna, but Reed is ESPECIALLY sad because the other two 5 star Chargers are both Free operators, and better than her. Grani can block 2 while increasing her DEF to make her decently tanky, while Wild mane has redeployment CD reduction on her module and synergy with the Dubstep Polish Horses team, while Reed has.... RES, and an ASPD bonus if she takes Arts damage, when her gimmick is that she's the Charger with Arts damage (enemies that deal Arts are likely to have high RES).
Glaucus
Unlike poor Reed, Glaucus isn't notably weaker than the rest of her Decel Binder class, but just like poor Reed, she's a weird, experimental unit that is sandwiched between stronger and more efficient options, namely Podenco for the 4 star and Angelina and Suzuran for the 6 stars.
Podenco offers a lot of versatility for cheap investment. She can heal allies with her skill 1, or throw a poison vial that constantly slows and silences enemies inside its range, very useful in IS. Meanwhile, Angelina and Suzuran are Angelina and Suzuran.
Poor Glaucus specialized in being an anti-drone unit when many flying enemies stopped being drones, while all the actually dangerous drones were Arts drones that had RES and needed to be taken down by Marksmen. She's still not terrible if you want to use her (the AOE of her S2 is huge), but objectively speaking it's hard to justify her most of the time.
Franka
Until the advent of modules, Dreadnoughts suffered pretty badly from an opportunity cost issue: their 3 star Melantha was way too fucking strong for her rarity, and could do most of what you would use a Dreadnought for anyway, so why would you bother raising the rest? 6 star Skadi was maligned as the worst 6 star in the game for this reason (though she still had her uses as a very big stat stick now and then) until even sadder blue girl Mostima came about.
But then modules and their upgrades arrived, and Hypergryph decided if they were going to be obvious about being Bloodborne fans, then they might as well go all the way and made the Abyssal Hunter squad one of the most bullshit busted teams in the game, with Skadi receiving massive buffs both from the modules, the upgrade effects, and the upgrade effects of the other Abyssal Hunters. She's now very strong when part of the AH squad. Dreadnoughts also saw another stupidly strong unit join their ranks with Nearl the Radiant Knight, whose ability to ignore deployment limit has led to her even being called a cheat.
Meanwhile, Matoimaru's stock rose with the module upgrades, with the upgraded stats both giving her more base HP, while increasing the HP gained from her talent, leading to a very cheap operator with a truly gargantuan HP pool, and thus gave her a special niche away from Melantha as a raw HP tank.
Add that to True Damage becoming a real damage type in the game (Franka doesn't actually deal True Damage, she just ignores DEF instead, which is an important distinction now that phys damage reduction and phys evasion are both things that exist) and Franka already struggling to justify her existence when an entire subclass of guards do Arts damage which also ignores DEF, and she's just not having a good time. Her best use case is as a counter to enemies with low health but extremely high DEF and RES such as the Originiutants from Originium Dust, or Plastic Knight and his shielded groupies, but then, you can just use actual True Damage to get around that too.
But there's one last operator I have in mind. Someone truly sandwiched between a rock and a hard place
Mr Nothing
Poor, poor Nothing. There are only 3 Merchants in Arknights, with the 6 star being an incredibly powerful counter to stun mechanics, and the 4 star being one of the strongest operators in the whole game.
Nothing has... nothing... going for him. He has the very baffling trait of having a gacha roll for his S2, where you can randomly get one of three different effects and if you don't get the right one you need to turn it off and reroll, while his S1 makes him stop blocking entirely and take a nap.
His stun from his talent can be useful now and then, and some dedicated fans out there have definitely found ways to actually make Nothing do something, but out of all the units I've mentioned so far, no one's as sad as Mr. Nothing.

What petnames does each operator choose for the Doctor, after their relationship gets physical?
Do you have any idea how long this list is
I'm just gonna pick a few I can come up with easily
Nearl calls her Doctor "my lord/lady" as applicable, but only ever in private. She calls them "beloved" in public.
Blaze just goes with "Babe".
Ch'en will refer to her lover by their title or full given name even when they're balls deep inside her.
SilverAsh uses "my friend", but the way he says it is dripping with sex.
Gladiia probably calls her Doctor some Aegirian curse word.
Exusiai uses "Leader"
Lappland uses "Boss" but like 50% of the time the way she says it is so obviously horny that it makes everyone around her uncomfortable.
Siege calls her Doctor her knight.
Mlynar just tells the Doctor to put their clothes back on and help him with his paperwork.
W tells the Doctor to go fuck themselves.

Still thinking about 'Blemishine is Kiryu-coded'. Eldritch truths of the world that the mortal mind is not prepared for
Listen, while Margaret Nearl is having her Revolutionary Girl Utena fights, her knightly honorable duels, and making bottoms and lesbians trip over the endless spaghetti that flows from their pockets whenever she's mentioned, Maria Nearl is out there fighting for her LIFE against enemies that would piss on her grave and that have nothing but insults and scorn for her.
Margaret Nearl gets a fanzine made about her, Maria Nearl unlocks new Heat moves in dark backalleys armed with nothing but her calloused hands, a steel pipe she found after being knocked flat on her back, and her McGyver-like creativity to squeak out the closest of wins against far superior opponents.
A Margaret Nearl enemy is someone named something like "Silk Knight", and her special move is joining Margaret's harem after the fight. A Maria Nearl enemy is someone named something like "Nerve Gas Knight" or "Molotov Bombardment Knight" and his special move is yelling "I am going to fucking kill you" while carpet bombing Maria with actual mortars, who has to go through several QTEs to not get blown to bits.
Margaret Nearl is the elegant woman of your dreams, Maria Nearl is Kazuma Kiryu as a Polish horse woman on her last sliver of HP and the boss still has six life bars and two other Heat Modes to go through.
I like Margaret Nearl a lot but Maria Nearl is more my speed. I have a sweet spot for people fighting for their fucking lives with splintered, bleeding fingers, and also for Kiryu-coded characters.
