Canonically MLM. Ranked second fencer nationally. Caught in a love triangle between two half brothers. Just wants to fence. Love his little mole.

The fléche is the key to victory for this character. It is the signature repertoire he uses to excel the sport.

he’s very special to me

He’s the second best fencer for his age, and he has a very funny relationship with his roommate (not romantic yet but it’s getting there)

For Hua Cheng:

King of ghosts and ruler of Ghost City. So good at sword he beat 33 gods in duels. Canonically gay and in love with the former prince, current exiled god of trash Xie Lian. His sword is sentient and also his own eye. Its name is E-Ming and if it ever cut you, it can reopen the wound any time. It's really cute despite its reputation, wants to be pet by Xie Lian like a little kitty.

He's got a sword that is literally a part of him. He made it from his own eye. It's sentient and behaves like a puppy and I just really love E-Ming

Spoiler but he has a very cool saber thats (kinda) alive and made out of his own eye? Does that count?

i’m happy i finished uni several years ago but there will be this fencing tournament happening at my uni and god i wish i could…. suddenly those regrets come back that i didn’t start earlier because the month i started uni my current club starting having their practices there… will i ever get over this fact… and also i tiny part of me wishes my professors (who won’t be there i’m sure) to see how cool i got. anyway….

I was looking forward to watching behind your touch all day but. Alas now I’m just in the mood to keep watching move to heaven sorry bbg I know you’ll probably reveal the true murderer but I wanna watch this drama about movers for dead people and also autism

#kind of on the fence about move to heavens autism rep but I’m only two episodes in so I can’t judge it yet #like. i think as far as geu-ru goes he’s a fairly realistic autistic character like yeah I believe there’s a real person like him. but will-#-he get any development or anything? will he be anything more than a prop for the other characters development? will he be used as -#-inspiration porn? I’m not sure yet I’m only two episodes in so we shall see #but I’m very invested in seeing his relationship with his dad and dealing with the loss of him so I hope they actually do something with tot #and don’t just screw him over to develop his uncle a bunch

tgcf modern fencing au because dear god I fucking love fencing. I already made a post about this except now I have educated myself and have way better ideas. also I was thinking too hard about it last time. everything is under the cut!!

okay okay so

• Xie Lian does foil fencing.

• Meanwhile, Qi Rong does épée fencing, which for those unaware is like foil but with a lot less rules (read: basically no rules). He uses a pistol grip for his épée.

•Lang Qianqiu also does épée, but he uses a French grip.

• The differences in grips for those two is absolutely intentional and based on what I think would best suit their respective styles.

• Mu Qing and Hua Cheng both do sabre fencing, which is more about slashing at your opponent than stabbing them repeatedly.

• Pei Ming also does épée, and like Lang Qianqiu, he also uses a French grip.

• Feng Xin doesn't fence, he does archery. He just shows up to tournaments to support his friends.

also something I think should be understood is that fencing events are separated depending on discipline due to the differences in rules. so while you would not see Xie Lian face off against Hua Cheng, you will see Qi Rong up against Lang Qianqiu.

Trying to think of who the descenders are. We know that there were the second who came (which has not been set in stone to be celestia yet). The fact that they're called "Second" already says they're the second ones. The entity who upholds the heavenly principles may or may not have been the first one as hypothesized by Nahida. Then there's Alice which seems like she may have been the third and then the traveler.

Unless the "second who came" don't count or something then we've got our four descenders already figured out.
