florist! felix

just imagine felix as a florist, join me as I cry my way into this au

okay but fIRST OF ALL, he would look sO GOOD in a florist uniform

white button-up, black jeans and a floral printed apron? wow, heart eyes for days

do you know how amazing he would look? like omfg

anYWAY,,,,

he wasn’t really forced by the older members to get a job, it was honestly kind of boring just staying at the dorm with a little too much free time

he thought cafes were overrated, and was too insecure about his Korean to apply there

after wandering around the neighborhood he and the boys lived in, he came across a cute little shop and was like “this has got to be it, it’s practically calling out to me”

he actually stood outside for a few minutes just clutching his heart because it was so cute???? like he actually took time to admire the exterior (cause he’s a huge softie, tune in for that headcanon)

it seemed like a very home-y shop despite its old design??

a stranger thought he was lost and walked up to him, gently placing a guiding hand on his back asking if he needed directions and his eyes go wide and just,

“aAHH, no, I’m fine, really, thank you though”

and he’d ramble and bow continuously as to not come off as rude and the stranger is just smiling and walking off, waving cutely (it was an old lady like could this have gotten any cuter)

fortunately the shop had a little “help wanted” sign hanging on one of the flower pots soooooo

after a few deep breaths and the process of recollecting himself, felix nervously walks into the shop and consults the cashier, asking about the offer

“good morning,” he’d bow, “I heard there was a job opening here?”

his hands are sweaty and clammy and his voice cracks as he speaks (and he’s practically having a mental breakdown)

felix licks his lips out of nervousness and the cashier is actually so sweet and laughs and makes small talk with felix to ease his stress

“is this your first job?” he’d ask, leading felix to the back where the owner of the store was working

felix would look around amazed, a smile on his face as he brushes past the rows of flowers, admiring the colors and fragrance

“yea, just a bit nervous about working here” he’d reply honestly

the cashier would nod his head knowingly, recalling the first time he had walked into the shop just as felix did

“don’t worry about the owners, they’re a really cute old couple, they’ll welcome you with open arms!!” he’d encourage

felix would return a huge grin as the cashier gives him a quick “fighting!” as he held the door open to the owners’ office

with respect, felix would knock politely first and bow as soon as the couple had looked up at him, smiles already planted on their faces

“aah, welcome! take a seat, i’ll go make some tea!” the woman would say and would pat felix on his back softly

this is when felix knew he had nothing to worry about because his bosses were already so nice and kind????

he actually practiced some interview questions with chan because he was that nervous and wanted to be extra prepared (my nervous boy..)

the couple actually didn’t ask that many questions, the interview mainly consisted of basic ones like “have you worked at a florist shop before? do you have any work experience? how are you with people? can you work flexibly?”

a few of these questions didn’t seem to benefit felix much as he hadn’t worked at a florist shop nor had any work experience

his face would flush but he’d speak the truth

he tried to compensate this opportunity with the fact that he could work with people (also noting to the couple that he was still learning Korean) and was flexible with working around the store and running errands and such

the couple would not sTOP SMILING and it made felix less nervous despite his worries about possibly not getting the job

the overall feeling this shop and the couple gave off made felix feel something, and he really didn’t want this opportunity to slip

he was surprised when the couple spoke up after 20 minutes, expecting a few more questions before they made a final decision

“well, felix... you seem like a very nice boy and it’d be nice to have a fresh face around here” the man would point out, smiling slightly

“we would love for you to work with us, we’ll start you off with training right now if you’re free?” the woman would ask, holding her husband’s hand

“aH, YES MAAM I”M DEFINITELY FREE” felix would startle the couple with his enthusiasm because he’s actually overjoyed he got the job!!1

he’d quickly get up to bow and thank him for the job (what a cutie)

training was surprisingly a breeze, just quick tips and tricks to arranging flowers into bouquets, handling flowers with care, delivering bouquets to buyers, offering help, setting up outside displays, etc

felix was glad this job was quite easy; he always fell in love with the flowers and the owners were very understandable of his schedule as an idol

they always invited him to their office with his coworkers and it was super cute, they’d have weekly parties discussing sales and how everyone’s lives have been and it’d just be the cutest thing

after some time working there, felix would be one of the best salesperson this shop has had

his fresh face definitely invited a new customer base and doubled sales in the next few months

the girls especially enjoyed seeing him, being extremely excited to learn more about flowers and their meanings

the older community also loved him!!

an older fellow had stopped by the shop once and was confused about something

felix walked up to him and asked if he needed any assistance, which of course the old man did

the man described his search for a flower that reminded him of Christmas

with much thought, felix’s face brightened and lead the man to the other side of the shop, carefully picking up a pot of poinsettia, asking the man if this was the correct plant

the man’s face would light up and he would slightly clap his hands, excited about the find

felix would smile brightly and bring the pot to the register, the man trailing closely behind

as felix is ringing it up, the old man recalls his wife saying she liked the colors and explains how he was trying so hard to look for it

after the transaction goes through, felix goes around and is about to bid the old man farewell when he’s suddenly embraced???

the old man cannot thank felix enough for his help and it’s honestly the sweetest and cutest thing ever

felix just smiles slightly and kinda tears up because hE DID THAT!!

he honestly cannot wait till the old man returns home to give his wife this special gift, already imagining her reaction

he waves the old man kindly off, watching him make his way out of the shop with a little cart he brought to roll the plant home

felix. really. loves. his. job!!!!!!

he is just so educated and dedicated???

his love for his job is immense!!!1!

he’d borrow books on botany (aka plant science) and flowers and would educate himself on what flowers complimented others, what the meaning of some flowers were and what flowers he spotted on his way to work

he had always enjoyed his science classes in senior secondary school, especially biology!!

at this point even his members knew a few things about flowers and enjoyed felix’s little fun facts

his knowledge shows through his work ethic, giving input and short comments to customers struggling to choose an arrangement of flowers for their loved ones

including you!!

you had walked in once, a list of flowers you had compiled in your hand ready to purchase a bouquet

the flowers you were looking for were red roses, pink stargazer lilies, white alstroemerias, and purple limoniums

you had no idea if the flowers you chose would look good together but you liked the meaning behind each flower and how, once together, created an eevn stronger message

the roses symbolized respect, devotion, and admiration

the stargazer lilies symbolized youth, boldness, and beauty

the alstroemerias symbolized friendship and devotion

and the limoniums symbolized remembrance, sympathy and success

nervous, you walked up to the cashier wanting to know if the shop had these flowers in stock

lucky you,,,,, felix would be your helper for the day

you stuttered as you presented the list to him, admiring his beauty

you wouldn’t know it, but felix wouLD BE FREAKING OUT TOO

you were cute, like extremely cute.,,,,,, and he was blessed to have been able to see such a cute person so early in the morning

he’d smile and lead you to their designated places in the shop

curious, he’d ask why specifically these flowers, knowing full well the message you were trying to put forth with this arrangement

“I just want someone very dear to me know that I love and appreciate them..” you’d trail off, embarrassed at the intimacy

for some reason, felix’s heart kinda broke,,, he was really hoping that that wasn’t the answer

he baRELy knew you but you were making him feel such strong emotions???

pushing forward, he forced a smile upon his face and asked another question

“for a boyfriend?” he’d quirk an eyebrow, stealing a glance at you as you blushed

you fiddled with your hands and laughed a bit, a shy smile on your face

shaking your head, you responded quietly

“no... it’s for my mom” you giggled, envisioning her reaction and surprise to the gift

felix’s heart swelled knowing you didn’t have a boyfriend (although he asked himself how that was possible whEN YOU WERE SO GORGEOUS)

he smiled to himself, also realizing the fact that you went out of your way to gift your mother a heartfelt surprise

you quietly watched him pick the flowers and lead you back to the cashier, ready to arrange them into a beautiful bouquet

before he could put them together, you asked him politely,

“could you put it into a vase?” another shy smile on your face

at a loss for words at hOW CUTE YOU WERE, felix gulped and shook his head, plastering a closed smile (does that make sense?)

you rocked yourself on your feet, busying yourself with studying the interior of the shop

it was cute, you thought, home-y even

before you got too lost in your thoughts, felix suddenly intervened

with a quiet “ta-dah~” felix presented the finished product to you

the red vase adorned all the flowers and created an amazing bouquet you knew your mother would surely enjoy

gasping, a wide smile grew upon your face, amazed with your wise choice of flowers

“if i may say so myself, you did a damn good job at picking meaningful and beautiful flowers...” felix would smile, trailing after waiting for your name, winking quickly once you made eye contact

your cheeks burned as you stuttered out your name, fishing out your wallet and paying the amount needed after his tremendous help

you gave felix an extra five dollar bill, completely satisfied with his customer service, as a form of gratitude

he stares at the bill and smiles shortly after, thanking you and bowing for the gratitude

as you struggled to put your wallet back into your bag, felix snatched the receipt from the cashier and quickly scribbled onto the bottom of it

as you began making your way to the door with the vase in your arms, he called out to you,

“excuse me! you forgot your receipt!” he jogged the short distance to you and handed you the paper

you smiled thankfully at him and froze when you saw his little introduction on your receipt

“you might know this already but my name’s felix and wow you’re kinda cute... would it be rude of me to ask you out on a date?”

he stood in front of you, whistling to get his nerves to calm down

you giggled, the red on your face ever so evident

“well felix, it’d be a shame if i rejected you now would it?” you pressed, a slight tease in your voice

he grinned widely, and continued on, pointing out his number next to his quick message, mouthing a quick “call me” accompanied by another wink

you laughed once more and waved, a bit happy you chose this shop amongst the many others

(the owners actually spied on them and would tease felix about her occasionally, they think she’s absolutely wonderful when she visits often)

isn’t felix the cutest and smoothest guy out there?
