Upcoming Disney film about homosexuality in the Animal Kingdom defies stereotypes by having the bear be a sassy twink

It would have been an easy shot to make Calvin, the ursine lead of Disney's upcoming film The Proud Kingdom, well, a bear - as in the hairy, heavy-set gay dude type, not the literal animal-type which he clearly still is.
However, in a move that breaks stereotypes nobody knew were stereotypes, Calvin will reportedly be "a sassy gay" and "a bit of a white twink."
Calvin's story will follow the young twink-bear on his journey to find acceptance among his rigid elders who celebrate queerness in specific ways and don't accept his refusal to get fat and be attractive to his best friend, Ollie, who is an Otter in both uses of the term.
The film already has backlash from both critics and potential viewers.
"They made him a twink to break stereotypes… do they know what a stereotype is?" asks one user on twitter, who could not be reached for further comment at this time.
"The Proud Kingdom will no doubt be a historic moment for Disney as it releases its next 17 First Gay Characters all at once, in one movie. Beyond this, however, it fails to impress." wrote a critic at the time of review, giving the move two out of five stars - one for having the balls to release the film in the first place, and one for a pun that made them laugh.
"So is anyone going to talk about how problematic the representation in DIsney's new The Proud Kingdom is?" spoke tumblr user lokis-massive-horsecock. We have reached out for further comment, and as of writing, we are still waiting for lokis-massive-horsecock to stop typing.

lmao i had to unfollow a mclaren moot because they took the "twink" thing to an extreme and were pointing out how he's just oscar's little twink and would always be fragile and small instead of big and strong and fit like "broadscar" and i really just had to. 🤦♀️ fit? FIT? lando was the only driver not on the brink of fainting after qatar, not everything in f1 is about how "broad" and "muscular" you seem. i wanted to give the benefit of doubt at first but when the fetishizing gay relationships turned into pushing these bodyshaming stereotypes onto a literal professional athlete i was out.
i mean its so wild bc half of them seem to give the twink descriptor to both drivers and half specifically pin it on lando because hes smaller than oscar & make it into a whole Dynamic of lando being sooo toppable or whatever. which just shows that there isnt actually any weight to 'twinklaren' at all and it rly is meaningless, bc surely if it was clear cut and obvious these differences wouldnt exist ykwim? like its just about what serves their fandom purpose in that moment
idk i think as much as the term broadscar is unfortunately quite funny to me, f1 fandom discussions abt weight and bodies r kind of bound to become problematic (real sense not 2014 tumblr sense) bc of the requirements of the sport. the way lewis has said that hes not allowed to bulk up because it would make his weight balance too lopsided (as a side note u guys do not know how ready i am for post retirement bicep BEAST lewis hamilton. the only way im gonna survive him retiring) etc like its not just about appearance for them.
in terms of how lando is fit like ur 100% right - stuff like qatar shows that he (and jon) has been doing his due diligence w preparing for these conditions. u can also just see in that last quadrant video how hes obviously very physically fit and ready for the season. its just that bodies have natural differences between them - oscar is genetically taller, lando is genetically more flexible; oscar is naturally broader around his arms, lando is naturally broader around his back, etc. and its not necessarily an issue to point these things out or even joke about them (when ppl say daniel's got birthing hips it still makes me laugh and its been years since i first heard it) but at some point it does start to show a fundamental misunderstanding of what f1 drivers do. like do i need to pull up the real sweat im a high performance athlete clip or what
so thats on the body stuff. re: the twink stuff i think the reason it rubs me, you, many ppl wrong even before we consciously realise it is like. a twink is a type - not just a body type, a *type*. in the gay male* community, you identify yourself as a twink (or bear, otter, etc) because some people are particularly attracted to twinks, bc they have a type. then obviously because the gay community is way more than just sexual attraction & has a lot of cultural capital, the term twink gained connotations and cultural history etc and grew past that. but the origins are still very much in gay male* attraction. so now that the term has become accessible to ppl who arent in that community, and therefore arent *participating*, identifying someone by their physical characteristics (and maybe implied penetrative sex preference) no longer has the subtext of appeal, but of derision. because no longer is it implied that everyone involved is a gay man*, which means calling someone a twink also implicitly calls them gay. and i think 'twink' specifically gained traction compared to other types also bc of its association w femininity in one's physical appearance - which, again, ur just derogatorily calling someone feminine and gay. even if, say, ur a member of the lgbt community who isn't a gay man*, it still carries the subtext - like anon u completely correctly identified the condescending undertones of whoever ur talking about. which is why i say we should just bring back fag #justsayfag

anyways a movie representing codependency & narcissism in the form a queer relationship where younger gay w daddy issues has essentially been manipulated into a toxic relationship. getting support and getting out of that relationship, only to immediately be replaced by an even more a problematic puppy twink with mommy issues (who comes from a family of mafia werewolves), and now previously mentioned wet cat of a character disaster bi realises he has to stop his abuser abusing others and even though this new twink seems to have it out to kill you and lecture you about he’s “master’s favourite” but also that “i’m clearly the yin to your yang” and you kind of find this violent back and forth to be arousing but you also kind of have to kill him but also would like to give him a kiss and save him and then he’s dead so after you help your new girl crush & bring her sister back you secretly use the blood to bring back deeply lost twink in hopes of taking him to codependents meetings and maybe to fuck.

So, I was willing to overlook Build Jakapan firing off some dumbass Tweets. Partly because I thought he didn't delete them to protect his image going into BL, and partly because I just don't have the time or energy to engage in cancel culture.
While it saddens me to say this, Build no longer passes vibe check. But, fear not. Thanks to the insanely problematic binary BL dramas always create in their relationships, Build's acting was not so unforgettable that he can't be replaced by another cute twink with a baby face, and I think deep down we all know this.
Be super cool if the fandom could calm down and see reason in this situation. Build's not worth sinking the entire BOC ship over. Or do ya'll really want to go back to Mame projects being your best option? You guys really want the best you ever get being her inflicting her weird ass goo-goo gaga baby fetish shit on grown, gay men every single series? Do you want another TinCan? 3. Also I dont get the “mom of the group” thing. Like she was nice to everyone and ocean mentioned that she baked but that’s about it
4. I don’t thinks it’s acknowledged enough that Constance was SAd. I don’t care if she wanted to loose her virginity, shes under aged and by Constance’s own emissions the carny was in his 30s

A. It feels in very poor taste at best and just strange up gross at worst to the situation at hand. I get it Mischa’s Ukrainian and that’s a very important part to his character but that doesn’t mean you need to throw real war footage to the end of the song.
B. Talia and mischa story as a whole is tragic enough as is. You don’t need to add in the fact that on top of Talia possibly not even being real we’re now throwing in the possibility that she died in the war? It just seems like over kill to me.
2: Ricky’s disability being written out of the script was really gross. Like I get it they wanted to avoid another yannick situation but this like the worst possible way to go about it

I was curious about a post you made, about straight women and Astarion. I’m not here to start a fight, but would you mind explaining that? 😥 I’m not super well versed in these issues, it seems kind of harmless to me, but it sounds like you’ve got some thoughts! I know Neil has said he thinks of Astarion as pan, and without any word from higher up, that’s about as official as it gets, so why have you got a gripe with straight women in particular? No hostility intended of course!
It is mostly harmless, anyone can do whatever they please with a fictional character. But my issue, my ick, comes from two places, one being that historiclly speaking straight women have often used queer men as accessories; a good example of this is the "gay best friend" trope. Or even for as much as i love it, slash fiction, which alot of the time is women writing gay relationships (or often just smut), usually in a manner that isnt quite right to what its actually like being with a man, or living as a femme guy. (A peice of media that i think did a perfect job expressing those things in a non fetishy way is Law of desire by Pedro Almodóvar)
And also the issue also isnt him being pan, or pairing him with a women even; its the way they go about it. It gives off "you just wanna fuck a gay guy" vibes, which... isnt the best vibes to give. This is usually done by erasing his character and making him a "smol sadboi" and totally ignore any issues or characterization. (I sometimes wonder if some of these people have even played the game past the 1st hour)
This really only leaves one with two thoughts; its an aesthetic thing, they like queer men because theyre "exotic", (in and of itself really problematic) or, and usually if one of these things is true, the other also is, its a fetish, plain and simple. They think its hotter to see two guys go at it, and with Astarion its the perfect oportunity to have both things at once. (the queer fetishization and the ability to self insert onto a female character) similar vibes to straight women going to gay bars, looking for twinks, quite creepy imo.
(And a more irl implacation of this is that alot of the women doing this are only ok with femme cis queer men, once its a trans person, or a wlw person, or even just a bear? Instant death)
I do know this has always been a huge part of fandom, going back to the emo days of fall out boy and green day. I also know im not the target demegraphic for Astarion x reader fics, and the mod (i think? Im not sure) putting him in red john lennon glasses; so meh, maybe im just out of touch.

There's literally no way for me to put this show into words it's about guilt, community, love, justice, being insane, being gay, just watch it, it's on netflix and it will change your DNA like drinking Chernobyl water.

The dumbest disaster of a man is forced into becoming a bodyguard for a mafia heir who's both the worst man you've ever met and a 13 year old girl with an embarrassing crush. Toxic, problematic sex pig material, you really need to know what you're signing up for.

Beauty and the Beast but Belle is a cute twink who refuses to move out and forcefully acts as a walking conscience for a morally questionable judge on a vigilante quest for justice. then this is more of a dub thing but some of the voices are actually so bad. why does zeldris sound like that. that is a short emo man that is not a buff member of the swat team
fanservice is bad too. you cant tell me nerobasta’s back doesnt HURT from those actually gargantuan jugs. i dont even think those are possible. that dress is hanging on for dear life. this doesnt even work you cant trick me into thinking this animes good by putting e cup anime titties in my face
anyway this anime’s a 10/10 i recommend it to uh to uh uh a very large audience
and the movies arent that great either, especially cursed by light because you spend have of this plot lollygagging and then suddenly everythings fine, but youre still halfway through the movie so elizabeths mommy has to descend and start throwing hands and with the power of teamwork the cast defeats this universe’s version of god
the only part i like about that movie is the two 10 second scenes where arthur and merlin are present and the whole time they’re just like 🧍 ominously
is there anything i like? plot wise, absolutely not i cant think of anything but i do like some of the characters
diane, while annoying a lot of the time, was genuinely okay. she was my first kin and for that she’s pretty close to my heart. but her intense infatuation with meliodas in the first chunk of the anime actually drove me up a wall, but she does get better
king was pretty great, and while a little bland, i still liked him. hes also dubbed by max mittelman and that just increases my adoration for him
gowther is... gowther. the buildup of a tall muscular man in armor but is actually a pink haired androgynous twink was great i loved that, i cosplayed him in 2020 and i still say “✌️sparkle!” to this day
escanor was pretty cool until he... wasnt... and then im not gonna say any more (rest in peace king)
i liked gilthunder after he was out of his emo phase and even enjoyed him when he was still in it. the circumstances of his villain arc were generally stupid as well as confusing and vivian’s existence gets on my nerves but gil was cool, along with howzer, who is probably one of the most horrendous looking characters ive ever seen (as controversial as that statement is) but at least hes funny. theyre also voiced by robbie daymond and ray chase, so if youre a persona fan, like, come on this duo is iconic (duo. i have a strong dislike of griamore and to my concern he does not exist)
merlin, i liked merlin. i liked merlin. a lot. for reasons. for a lot of reasons. she was she was uh and her character arc and backstory was um... i liked merlin yes i did
okay i cant not talk about arthur anymore. i love arthur. hes my little closeted ginger homosexual guy and he’s just great. he has actually zero idea whats happening at any given time but still is op as all hell, and i just love him. he has a baby face and is dubbed by zach aguilar so its really hard for me to not just want to hug him
when he died that extremely brutal death i just sat there like ☹️ come on man thats not cool
you cant kill off the best character and expect me to keep watching this
yeah thats right i never even finished it. i was a huge sds fan in like 2018 when season 4 and season 5 werent out yet, and then i stopped liking it, and when they did come out, i never finished. i watched a couple general scenes, and im very aware of the plot and what happens after the point i stopped watching and as much of a hate watcher i am there is no way that those last couple seasons are even sort of worth my time. ill watch the movies whenever they come out but... i cant handle any more than that.
anyway seven deadly sins is actually horrible and nobody should watch it unless its the filler episodes where the characters sit around and complain all day because those have the capability of being fun

Hey I don’t want to be like, discourse-, but I think that Red vs Blue character should be disqualified even if they win the poll. From what I can tell all of the characters from the show don’t have canonical appearances, they all use the same model and have the same body type so the only reason for his conclusion would be that he’s feminine? And that seems kind of… problematic to say that a character who, from what I can tell, has the same body type as Master Chief should be considered a twink just because he’s stereotypically gay.

johnny looking like the softest sweetest prettiest most precious uwu bean twink femboy in the whole series while being ready to commit murder no matter the person and with zero provocation 24/7
how incredibly offended gyro is over being told he's spoiled and a conformist lol
johnny and gyro being so freaked out by hot pants. the way theyre always nervous and glaring at her and dont want her near them and its just because of her massive big dick energy
that johnny being severely injured by ringo being the ONLY thing in the WHOLE story that gives gyro the "dark determination" needed to kill a person... his want to save johnny was so intense that in an instant it changed his morality... im emotional
gyro's inner dad telling him to abandon johnny so he can win the race and detach from his feelings of sentiment towards johnny but he just cant do it
gyro's gay panic emotional dilemma where he's distressed that he cares about johnny so much and has to lie to himself that he doesnt care about him that much just to cope my god the ringo arc is gay

the chapter where its just johnny's thoughts about the practicalities of the race like how they have to sleep during the day and travel by starlight when theyre in the desert and the coffee gyro makes them every day. the vibes are immaculate
johnny opening up to gyro and saying that before the race he felt his soul was dying and now he feels reborn.......... ;_;

johnny being so encouraging of gyro's horrible jokes and songs even though he obviously doesnt think theyre actually good
that scene where gyro's grabbing johnny by the front of his shirt, yelling at him to stop thinking about murder and johnny's like 'ok' but you can tell that he's full of anger and violence just right under the surface and gyro can tell too and idk i just love the tension
