I caved and I wrote a Paulina/William drabble. I don’t have context except that I HC Paulina would take longer to switch to the plant track and William meets the squad earlier in this version. Maybe I’ll explore this AU more lemme know if I should yo 💚💛

“Oh Lina, it’s absolutely stunning!” He marveled at the large colorful flower she was trying desperately to hide. But his praise only caused it to grow larger as a very flustered Paulina tried to control it.

“It’s nothing, I swear!” She insisted, but the vines has already made themselves comfortable. Summoning them had clearly taken skill, it would a challenge for anyone to make them disappear at a moment’s notice especially if they didn’t really want to.

“I have to disagree, I think it’s very much something.” William laughed. “It’s something wonderful!”

“No, it’s so embarrassing!” She said, brushing the flowers out of her hair. “I can’t control them anymore than I can control my other magic. You don’t have to lie to make me feel better.”

“I promise you, I’m not lying!” He insisted, gently removing a white rose from behind her ear. “I would never! I could never!”

“No, William I promise it’s okay I won’t be angry at you for it.” She said. “I guess… I was just nervous to show you. I… haven’t really told anyone I’ve been practicing plant magic.”

“Well, if you ask me you should practice it more. It suits you.” He said with a smile, feeling she looked so natural surrounded by the flowers.

“You’re sweet,” she said with a smile, and her calmness spread to the plants who did not whither away but made a slow return to their pots. “You’re wrong, but sweet. I know it’s silly to try another type of magic when I can’t even get the basics of my track.”

“Paulina, I promise I would not lie to you. In fact I cannot lie.” William said, his normal vigor lacking. “Like… I’m unable to.”

“What do you mean?”

“A secret for a secret?” He said, raising his pinky which she took in hers (thankfully this time there was no goop incident). “It’s part of my curse,” he began to explain. “If I am to lie, I am overtaken with great pain. It feels as though my bones are shifting and trying to escape. It matters not how grand the lie is, any lie will trigger it.”

“How do you know?”

“I did lie once, to my uncle.” He said, shuddering at the memory. “I had snuck out of the castle and when he asked me where I’d gone, I denied having left. And suddenly it felt as though my heart was being ripped from my chest, the pain so severe I could hardly stand. He said ‘this is what happens when you lie to me, you’re only hurting yourself by doing so. I will always know.’”

“Woah,” Paulina whispered, often forgetting William was related to the Emperor. She always views him as cold and scary and William seemed just the opposite, despite his attempts to seem intimidating. She wondered where he had gone before it struck her. “Was this… the night you came to our conjuring?”

He nodded and Paulina felt her heat sink.

“Oh William, I’m so sorry if I had known I would have never-.”

“No, please don’t be sorry princess,” he insisted. “It was a lovely night, truly. It was the first time I felt… normal. I didn’t think about my curse or my duties I just had… fun. That night meant a great deal to me.”

He smiled at the memory of holding her hand beneath the light of the full moon, the sound of her laughter as the managed to navigate the Owl House before Eda found them out. The way her eyes shimmered when she walked him to the door and said how happy she was that he had come.

“Well, you probably would’ve been back sooner if I hadn’t messed up the spell.” Paulina said, her voice low.

“If I had arrived on time I could’ve left on time, don’t blame yourself for something beyond your control,” he said, remembering the time he had put into his outfit, trying to impress her. “I was bound to discover it sooner or later, and knowing the effect has made me more careful. You can take credit for that, but nothing more.”

She smiled, knowing he meant that. She believed even without the curse William valued honesty. But such great pain no matter the lie? Not even a harmless white lie?

“Wait, did he mean every time you lie or just when you lie to him?”

“Well I… don’t really know,” he admitted, furrowing his brow. “I haven’t tried since then. But royalty shouldn’t lie anyway, so it doesn’t really matter. I intend to be an honest and fair ruler.”

“But what if you need to?” Paulina inquired. “What if by lying, you can help someone? Like what if Boscha was looking for me and asked you where I was, it wouldn’t be wrong to lie to her.”

“I would gladly endure the pain to keep you safe.”

Paulina blushed. He didn’t even hesitate.

“But when you go on missions, what if your identity is supposed to remain a secret and someone asks you if you’re the prince? It would be okay then, wouldn’t it?”

“I suppose you’re right,” he said stroking his chin. “Hmm, we should investigate this. Paulina, may I lie to you?”

She giggled, always finding his formality endearing. “You may.” She replied, matching his regal tone.

“All right,” he straightened his spine and cleared his throat, searching for a lie to tell. “Okay um… you are not very beautiful.”

He closed his eyes and prepared for the impact his only lie had given him, but to his surprise he felt no pain. “Huh? I did it! I lied!

“Well, I don’t know if it’s a lie exactly,” blushed Paulina. “It’s kind of subjective.”

“Oh? Oh, yes I suppose you’re right, as usual.” He scrunched his face as he tried to summon a more probable truth. “Okay then, I do not think you are very beautiful.” He clarified for the powers that be. He waited a beat and again felt no pain and raised his arms in victory. “Huzzah!”

Paulina blushed once more. “I mean… I’m still not sure that’s the best example,” she said quietly. “I mean, because what if that’s-.”

“Oh, yes I see what you mean,” he said, reading her mind. “I know opinions and fact can differ, but I can only lie about what I know, correct? Even if it just a lie to me, because I do believe you’re very beautiful. See? Neither sentence triggered the curse. I promise you the truth is the latter, you can ask Luz I’ve said that well before I ever thought about trying to lie.”

“Oh, well okay.” She said with a smile as Willam did not falter from the sincerity of the compliment. He simply acted like her beauty was a universal truth. She wondered how often if came up that he instantly felt that way. But despite how nice the sentiment made her feel, something about the delivery troubled her. “So… if you only feel pain when you lie to your uncle does that mean…”

“Does that mean… what?”

“William… is he the one who cursed you?”

In your Adrian post you mention regression is more common amoungst the coven heads then they thought. Are there other coven heads who agere as well? Do you have some hc on them?

I do!! Personally, I think that Raine, Hunter, and Lilith (they may be ex coven heads but they count in my heart) also regress! I think the other coven heads are just used to it at this point.

But anyway! Here's

Raine Whispers, Lilith Clawthorne, and Hunter Agere Headcanons!

Raine Whispers:

They regress to cope with stress, both brought on from being a coven head and worrying about things in general

Anxiety will do that to ya

Raine's regression space can range from 5-10, but it mostly ends up being lower on that range

When they were a teen, Eda was their caregiver

Now that they don't really have anyone, they try not to regress

Terra found out a while ago and things were not pretty. Raine hates her more than anything

They stay in their quarters and lock themselves away

In their quarters, they have a hidden toy chest and old stuffed animals that Eda won them

They are 10x more emotional when little and honestly a little bit of a cry baby

They've restricted themselves from using their scroll while little

Last time they did, Eda got a text from a very small Raine

"mmmmiss u moma"

They usually pretend that it didn't happen afterwards

Their quarters are sound proofed thanks to the last bard head

So when they're small, they have little dance parties and sing to their stuffies

It doesn't scare them! Those are their friends!

They love chewlery

Their favorite piece of chewlery is shaped like a butterfly and half chewed through

Strong jaw.

They stim a lot when alone

Mostly small jumps and flapping their hands

They refuse to drink any tea when small

They have thrown it when given

A tragedy, truly. That time out was brutal

Lilith Clawthorne:

Similar to Raine, she also regresses due to stress

She also feels like she's lost so many years of her life to the Emperor's guild and man. that really stung to think about

Her age range is a lot smaller, mostly around 2-3

Thankfully, Gwendolyn understands and encourages it, so she finally gets all of her mom's attention!

She's a very happy toddler, surprisingly

Very cuddly, as well

Her palisman will nest in her hair while she's regressed to keep her constant company

If she's left alone for too long, she cries. A lot.

She loves being carried

Which. is good because she has a strong mom

While she was living at the Owl House with Eda and Luz, she spent a lot of time with Hooty

"Hootsifier" turns into "Hoo"

Hooty is. Crying tears of joy

Lilith loves coloring. So so much

It's easy and stress free

While she was at the Owl House, her and Eda did it a lot

"This is just like when we were kids, Lily!"

"Mmhmhmhmhm!"

Ever since she's left the coven, she's just been a lot happier

Hunter:

He is so baby coded.

He deserves a childhood. And a good one

His age range is mostly 0-4

He's a very cranky kiddo if he's not constantly attended to

Thankfully. His caregiver (and dad) is Darius

Darius won't admit it, but he is sort of a helicopter parent

Hunter wants nothing more than to play with others

But he is much too tiny.

Thankfully! The Emerald Entrails are incredibly understanding

They work together for some killer babysitting

And Hunter gets to be with his favorite friends and play! It's a big win for him

Flapjack is never far behind. That bird is almost as bad as Darius

He can't choose a favorite activity

He wants to do everything, all of the time

Is it to make up for lost time? Or is it just him being an excitable baby?

Also really big on being carried and cuddled

He hides under Darius' cape when he's overwhelmed and small

"Little Prince.. What are you doing there?"

"Hide.. Dada help!"

My favorite au. Where Hunter just gets to be a kid and taken care of

He has a cardinal bottle and paci

He carries around his frog plush

Please hold his hand. He needs it

Darius has a leash for him. It's attached to a backpack so he doesn't wander too far

He can't help it! He's curious!

Okay, but Hunter escaping Belos earlier with Luz and staying at Eda's, going to school and everything (perhaps under a different name? Idk) and meets Edric while Luz is showing him around. Ed gets kinda interested in Hunter imidiately and tries to act flirty and teasing, but Hunter mistake it as Ed making fun of him and gets offended/hurt. Disaster misunderstanding first meeting, followed by a lot of shenanigans afterward when Ed struggles to make up for it and Hunter being his precious awkward self, all of which eventually turns into an awesome friendship/crush, with Luz and Em playing wingwomen for them (creating even more shenanigans, but also a lot of fluff)

A second version would be Hunter sneaking away from the castle to keep meeting up with Willow after the ASIAS episode, meeting Edric during one of those visits. It could go similar to the hc above ir they could kinda hit it off quickly, spending time together and texting each other. It would be cute and a comfort during the hard times at their homes. Then Canon would catch up with Hunter learning the truth and hiding away from Belos, eventually founding himself back at the school and helping them fight back against the attack. Thus Ed and Hunter are reunited and Ed is probably feeling a little more protective over Hunter when learning more about his horrible home life.

I like the first version. It sounds cute and it could also work if Hunter had taken Amity's hand back in the episode "Eclipse Lake" and Amity took Hunter back to The Owl House where he started living with Luz after Amity had explained to her and Eda about what had happened there.

For the second version, I thought that it was established in the end of that episode that Willow as well as the rest of the members of the Emerald Entrails didn't forgive Hunter for the part that he played in them getting captured, at least not at that moment since they were still feeling betrayed and hurt by what he did. So, maybe in an alternate reality where Hunter calls Darius before he got there to tell him that he changed his mind about the recruits after he got to really bond with them and seeing how much their palismans mean to them which he knows that Belos will take them, and it would be very hypocritical of him to make them get rid of their palismans when he can't even bear the thought of giving Belos Flapjack. He would still tell them his real name and that he's the Golden Guard but, with Flapjack's help, tells them that he really enjoyed hanging out with them and if they're willing, he'd like to hang out with them again. Naturally, Willow, Gus, Skara and Viney would be a little hesitant considering Hunter does work for Belos who they don't like at all, but they decide to give him a chance and maybe with time, they can convince Hunter that Belos isn't as great as he says he is like Luz did for them.

Also, Darius might have overheard Hunter talking to Flapjack about his lie to Darius, would come out behind him which scared Hunter really bad, and then we get the same ending as that episode.

Afterwards Hunter would go to meet up with Williow, Gus and the other members of the Emerald Entrails so they would hang out. For one of those visits/hangouts, Viney would bring the Blight Twins which the Blight boy and Hunter get along pretty well. To the point where Hunter starts hanging out with him separately from the rest of the group and talk to him most of the time on Pinstagram. Edric would also talk to Hunter about how his mother treats him and his sisters which Hunter would (not so) strangely relate to but wouldn't tell him anything about how Belos treats him when no one is around.

Then Hallow Mind happens, Hunter gets a panic attack and runs out of the Owl House which really worries Luz so, already knowing about Hunter's close relationship with the Emerald Entrails and the Blight Twins, she texts the EE member and the Blight twins in a group chat about Hunter running from the Owl House into the woods which they would all respond that they be on the lookout for him as well as let her know if they find him.

Then one day while Gus is at school, he spots a red cardinal that he recognizes as Flapjack taking a thrown away sandwich and flying off with it, which Gus follows the bird to find Hunter who immediately tries to hide the real reason why he is here, still haven't completely taken in what he saw in Belos's mindscape. Similar to canon, Gus gives Hunter his lunch, but Gus is a lot more concerned for Hunter and tells him that after class, they'll talk more about what is going on with the other Emerald Entrail members which Hunter hesitantly agrees to. Then when the coven scout tries to secretly give coven sigils to the students and Edric is the first unknowing participant. Edric gets magical tug by some unknown witch’s yellow colored magic that pulls him away from the coven scout before they grabbed his wrist and afterwards Gus reveals what the coven scouts were trying to do.

Once Hunter meets up with the students in the medical wing(?), Edric is the first to notice him and immediately gets up to hug him, happy to know that he's alright, before Em tells him to sit still so she can heal his wounds. When Principal Bump and the other students as well as staff interrogate Hunter about where Gus is and don't show any signs of believing that he is telling the truth when he says that Gus was just with him, the remaining members of the EE and the Blight twins quickly come to his defends. Edric even tells them that Hunter had to have been the one who got him out of the way when the coven scout was trying to put the force the coven sigil on him which everyone either in shocked or were very skeptical about Ed's claim until Hunter (using Flapjack in his staff mode) uses magic to lift a box of medical supplies, showing that his magic had that same yellow coloring as the magic that pulled Edric away from the coven scout before stating that he overheard their plan and just couldn't bring himself to just do nothing while blushing shyly which made Edric blush a little as Willow, Skara, Viney and Emira were all giving each other knowing glances.

I also like to think that during the fight, Hunter notices a coven scout was about to grab Edric from behind and gets Ed out of the way before giving the scout a hard kick to the face which dazes them. Hunter quickly asks Edric if he's alright and Ed (after snapping himself out of his daze from being rescued by his crush) tells Hunter that he's fine thanks to him but that they should talk after the fight is over which Hunter agrees to.

After the fight is over, Edric is the first to immediately go to Hunter and hugs him, stating that he's really happy to see that he's alright which makes the blonde blush as he returns the hug while smiling. Once Edric breaks the hug, he starts asking Hunter questions about what happened with Belos that made him run from the Owl House and had Luz so worried about him that she texted him, Em and the EE. Hunter, after taking a deep breath, tells him as well as everyone else about real reason for the Day of Unity and about Belos's plans for the Demon realm's witchy inhabitance. He also separately tells Edric bits and pieces about what else he saw in Belos's mindscape and that if he goes back to the castle, Belos will do something awful to him since Belos knows that he was in his mindscape. Seeing Hunter's shaken state, Edric comforts Hunter and tells the blonde that he'll make sure Belos won't ever hurt him again.

When Luz is talking to Amity in the balcony scene (you know the one ;) ), Hunter goes to talk to Edric who is very happy to see the blonde. Hunter pretty much tells him about their plans to stop Belos which Edric insists on going too, not wanting anything to happen to Hunter. Hunter tries to convince Edric that he should stay away where it's safer for him but knows that when Ed has something in mind, he'll stubbornly follow it no matter what. So, he agrees to having Edric and Emira come with them when they confront their mom and try to stop the Draining Spell (which is what I wished had happened with the twins *sighs* but you know). Edric, happy that he's coming along to help and without thinking, gives Hunter a forehead kiss which makes the blonde's face get so red and so warm that you could practically see steam coming off of his face. Edric, upon realizing what he just did, tries to apologize to Hunter about kissing him on the forehead while Hunter reassures him that it's fine, the two of them blushing bright red.

When the Draining Spell got started and all of the coven members are being drained of their magic, Amity goes to her dad after Alador falls thanks to the Draining Spell making him weaker while Hunter goes to Darius who is laying on the ground, trying to see if he's alright. Emira goes to Amity while Edric goes to Hunter, telling them that they should go try to stop the Draining Spell while they stay here to see if they can help the people who are being drained. Amity nods and goes to find Luz while Hunter has a harder time leaving Darius until Edric reassures him that he's not going to let anything happen to Darius. Hunter nods and promises him that Ed will be the first person that he looks for once this is all over before leaving a blushing Edric yelling out that he'll holding him to it.

Oh snap, it’s another beta huntlow drabble. This is my HC for a William/Paulina meetcute. It’s pretty simple, they meet and it’s cute. 💚💛

“Greetings, bird tube beast… thing, I am here to speak with the girl.” William said in a huff as he approached the Owl House, grumpy and slightly out of breath from the long walk.

“And whoooo may I say is calling?” Hooty said sweetly, twirling his neck around.

“Prince William,” he said crisply. “I’ve come to continue our conversation about proper etiquette and to speak with her guardian about her reckless behavior.”

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure her guardian is the one who taught her that behavior.” Hooty said. “But aaaaanyways, she’s not-.”

“I’m afraid I must insist, it is an urgent matter that I cannot prolong.”

“Okaaaay, but she’s not-.”

“I understand she will not want to face me given her poor manners, but it is a matter we must resolve like civilized people. Now, may I speak with her?”

“I shall get someone to speak to you,” said Hooty, turning his head inside and William could hear him yell. “THERE’S AN ANGRY LITTLE MAN AT THE DOOR!” he turned back to face William and offered him a smile. “She’ll be right with you, m’lord.”

“Right… thank you.”

He had worked on his speech the whole way over. He needed her help, he could not deny that, but he also needed to ensure her decorum did not continue. The door opened and a William prepared to launch right into his monlougue, but the girl who opened the door was not the girl from before. No, the girl who stood before him now was surely an angel.

“Oh, hello,” said the angel. “I’m sorry, Luz and Eda aren’t home right now. I’m watching Hooty and King while they’re away, I’m Paulina.” She reached out her hand to him and William found himself speechless for possibly the first time in his life. She was so effortlessly graceful, so delicate, so vivid. The way her peridot eyes reflected the sun made him feel as though-.

“I think he’s broken.” Spoke the bird tube and William shook himself out of his trance, realizing in embarrassment that he had been staring.

Remembering his title, he carefully took her hand in his and brought it to his lips. “A pleasure to make your acquaintance, fair lady.” He said trying to make his voice low and mature sounding as he gently pressed a kiss to her to top of her hand.

Now it was Paulina’s turn to stare as the princely boy before her continued to hold her hand as he raised his eyes to her. There was no sarcasm in his words or insincerity in his smile, a gap in his front teeth adding to his charm. He seemed as though he was genuinely pleased to meet her which was not something Paulina was used to feeling with confidence. She felt like her heart was about to-

“Hey! Who’s at the door? Did we order food? We don’t have any money! Take the food and run!” King’s voice beckoned as the little creature pushed past Paulina only to be disappointed with the lack of snacks in William’s arms. “Oh, it’s you. Why are you kissing my servant?”

“King I told you, I’m not your servant I’m your babysitter.” Laughed Paulina, her had still in William’s as he froze in place.

“Well I guess that would be an appropriate title, IF THERE WAS A BABY HERE!” King exclaimed standing between her and William, extending his arms to her eagerly so she could pick him up. “Uppies! Uppies!”

Paulina sighed as she picked up the little creature and rested him on her hip as she turned her attention back to the handsome stranger in front of her. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t catch your name.”

“My name? Oh yes of course how terribly rude of me,” he said reaching for her and yet again. “Prince William, at your service m’lady.” He placed another kiss on her hand, prolonging this one as he held her gaze hoping to create the perfect first impression.

“A prince? Really?” Giggled Paulina. It was a throaty, airy giggle she had never heard herself make before. “Oh… wow.”

He was so… tall. Like, not ridiculously tall but tall enough that when he stood back up and Paulina looked up at him, he cut off the sun perfectly so that it looked as though a halo surrounded his golden hair. She didn’t remove her hand from his this time and and could’ve sworn that he tightened his grip.

“Oh! Oh! Kiss my hand! Kiss my hand!” King sang, entering their line of linked vision and reminding them they weren’t the only two people in the world as he waved his hands in William’s face. The prince didn’t know what else to do and so took King’s hand and quickly kissed it. King laughed and clapped his hands in delight. “Haha ew, you have no idea where these have been.”

“Right, anyway,” William tried to continue, now with an odd taste in his mouth. “I’m here because-.”

“-you’re soaking wet.” Paulina finished, noticing his state for the first time.

“Huh? Oh, yes that’s why I’m here,” he said, remembering the reason he came all this way. “I uh, had a run in with the human and I needed to-.”

“Here.” Paulina said, handing him a green cloth she took from her pocket.

“Oh, uh… thank you,” he said, taking the fabric from her and he suddenly realized how uncomfortable he actually was. The human had “borrowed” his sword and when he insisted of its immediate return, she forced him to chase her and he ended up falling in a barrel of some odd smelling liquid. He was suddenly very self conscious of this and hoped Paulina did not assume that this was how he usually smelled. He wished they had met under better circumstances, and he could show her the full extent of his charm. But for now, he gently dabbed his sleeves with her small offering .

“Don’t mention it,” she said sweetly, scratching King’s head. “I always keep them with me, abomination goo is hard to clean off, especially when it gets in your hair.”

“That’s only one of the reasons my hands are sticky!” King declared in delight.

“Right,” said William, taken back by the way kindness came so naturally to her. Typically when people were this kind to him, they wanted something from him. But he sensed her sweetness was constant. “Um, well if the human isn’t here then I guess I should be going…”

“Oh, right yeah.” Paulina said, remembering he hadn’t come here just to see her. “Um, did you want me to give her a message?”

“Oh, yes if you could,” he said. “Just uh, let her know that I’ll be back tomorrow. Will… you be here tomorrow?” He added as nonchalantly as he could.

“I will!” Hooty chimed in. They had forgotten he was there.

“It’s possible,” she said with a smile. “Is there anything else you want me to tell her?”

“Yes, uh tell her that while I’m less than thrilled with her actions… I’m rather impressed with the company she keeps.” He went to return her cloth to her but she held her hand up to refuse.

“Keep it,” she insisted. “I have plenty.”

“Thank you,” he said, tucking it carefully in his breast pocket for safe keeping. He tucked it close to his heart, hoping she somehow sensed the romantic sentiment. He assumed she did, as entrusting a handkerchief to a prince was a key part in every royal romance he had ever read about. Oh, this girl was perfect. Finally, someone who appreciates and understood the importance of etiquette. “I shall keep it safe.”

“Um… okay?” She said, not seeing the big deal as it was just an extra rag she felt he needed more than she did right now. “Well, William it was very nice meeting you.”

“Oh, the pleasure was all mine,” he said with a grand flourish. Once more, he reached for her hand. “Until we meet again.” He kissed her knuckle once more. He gave her one final now before turning swiftly on his heel to leave her with the perfect farewell. Any anger he came here with had since been washed away and he felt lighter than he ever had before, it was almost like he was floating back to the castle.

“Is there like jelly on your knuckles or something? Why did he keep doing that?” King wondered aloud as he examined her hands and Paulina watched William walk away with a grand sigh.

“That’s the prince Luz said was whiney and scrawny?” Paulina said, thinking he was just the opposite. Luz never mentioned his piercing eyes or the elegant way his voice flowed. She was perplexed that anyone could be anything other than charmed after meeting him. “Oh wow, I can’t believe I just met a prince.”

She hasn’t panned on visiting the owl house tomorrow, but now her mine raced with a dozen reasons to stop by.

“Pshh, big deal I totally outrank him!” King declared. “And my crown is way better!”

How do you envision Goldric getting together?

I have a lot of different ways that I envision Hunter and Edric getting together but I’ll just give one of them.

It is after everything that happened with the Day of Unity and the Collector, Hunter starts going to school with other witches which I personally like to think that he multi-tracks like Luz.

On his first day, he went to his potion class where the teacher assigned everyone into a group of two so they could work together to create a potion which Hunter was partnered the Blight brother that Luz had introduced Hunter to about a week ago. While they were working on the potion, Edric would ask Hunter some questions about how his life was at the Owl House ever since Eda took him in which Hunter answers that his life is better than it was before and now, he has an actual family and friends that care about him which Hunter noticed that hearing Hunter say that seemed to have made Edric smile more.

After class, Edric asks Hunter if he’d like to hang out after school which Hunter hesitantly agrees as he knows that both of the Blight twins are troublemakers, but the Blight boy didn’t seem so bad when Luz introduced them to each other and thought that it would help him by being around witches his age. Edric smiles as he waves bye to Hunter who got a strange warm feeling in his chest but just brushed it aside as just being happy that he is making a new friend. On the other hand, Edric was very excited, so much so that Emira notices it and asks(more like teases) him about it. Edric’s cheeks flushed red while he simply says that he was just excited that he was going to be hanging out with the new kid, Hunter, after school and is hoping that they will become friends afterwards, nothing more and nothing less but Emira knew that her twin brother’s feelings for the blonde were more than just wanting to be friends with him however she doesn’t say anything about it.

During lunch, Luz noticed that Hunter was a little quieter than usual and asked him if he was alright. Hunter explains that Edric asked him to hang out after school and that he agreed which causes Luz to smirk teasingly while saying that sounds like fun. Hunter, sensing the teasing tone from Luz, glares at her before the bell screamed letting the students know that lunch is over and to head to their next class.

After school, Hunter goes to the front entrance to see Edric waiting for him. Once Edric saw him, he was very happy to see that Hunter showed up and the two walk to the day market to look at the booths. While they’re walking around, Hunter overhears some witches whispering about him and making comments about his scars which make him feel very self-conscious. Edric notices Hunter’s change in mood and notices that some witches are talking while looking at Hunter, so he gently takes Hunter’s hand(which unknowingly makes Hunter blush) and leads him to the library before asking the other if he’s okay. Hunter, still blushing, nods and thanks Edric for getting him out of there.

Edric smiles before telling the other that he actually wanted to show Hunter something that he found in one of the library’s book sections. Hunter, curious, follows Edric to where Ed takes a book out and shows it to Hunter where the blonde can see that it’s a human book about wolves, stating that he found it while he was looking for a beast-keeping book and remembered that Luz told him that Hunter really like wolves so he thought that the blonde would like it. Hunter gasps in awe before grabbing the book so he can look through it a little while his ears start flapping(I have a small hc that Hunter has ear flapping as one of his stims when he’s excited about something) which is one of the cutest things that Edric’s ever seen.

After Hunter flips through the first few pages, he looks at Edric with a wide smile that showed his tooth gap and thanks Ed for showing him the book. That’s when Edric realized that he fell hard for the other boy but he decides to keep that fact to himself so he doesn’t make Hunter uncomfortable and instead tells him that it was no problem before asking if Hunter would like Ed to walk him home since it was getting late. Smiling, Hunter tells Ed that he would like that since he wants to talk to him some more which makes Edric blush.

On the way back, Hunter starts going on an info-dumping rant about wolves while Edric is just listening to the blonde before Hunter stops himself and apologizes to Ed, stating that he must be annoying Edric with all of his rambling. Edric reassures Hunter that he’s not being annoying at all and that he actually likes hearing him talk about his interest, especially since blonde’s voice sounds very calming to him which makes Hunter, who had never been told that by anyone before in his life, blushes while smiling shyly.

When they get to the Owl house, Hunter thanks Edric for walking him home and for hanging out with him today, stating that he had a lot of fun. Edric, smiling, says that it was no problem and that if the blonde wanted to, they could hang out again. Hunter smiles and says that he would like that. The two say then their goodbyes before parting ways for the night.

As soon as Hunter gets to the door of the Owl House, Hooty starts asking very loudly if he just got back from a date with the Blight boy and if he had fun which makes Hunter’s face go red while saying that it wasn’t a date but yes, he had fun. He goes inside to see Lilith and Eda are making a potion with Luz and King while Raine is in the kitchen making food. When Raine sees him, they start asking him how was hanging out with Edric Blight which Hunter, still blushing, says that it was a lot of fun, and that Edric showed him this book about wolves. Raine can see that the blonde’s cheeks are red with blush, but they don’t say anything about it, instead just smile and state that they’re glad that Hunter had a good time before telling everyone in the house that food is ready.

While everyone is eating, Luz asks Hunter in a teasing tone how hanging out with Ed went which Hunter, glaring at Luz for the teasing tone, says that it was good and that they were planning on hanging out again which Luz makes an ooooing sound and says that it almost sounds like they’re planning to go on a date soon which makes Hunter go red while stating very loudly that it’s absolutely NOT going to be a date before Raine tells the two to calm down while saying to Luz that she shouldn’t aggravate her brother as Eda is chuckling and Lilith smirks a little, the two already picking up on Hunter’s crush while King is just eating his food, groaning about the fact that there is going to be another set of love birds in the house.

After eating, Hunter goes up to his room and starts reading the book that he got from Edric. As he’s reading, he starts to think about the green haired boy with the golden eyes and smiles before getting snapped out of his thoughts by Luz asking him if she could borrow his sewing kit so she can repair one of King’s stuff animals that got ripped before noticing how red Hunter’s face is and asks him if he’s alright. Hunter quickly tells her that he’s fine and that she can use his kit if she needs it while stuttering a lot. Luz notices the stuttering and his face getting even redder accompanied with him holding the book that Edric got him but decides not to say anything about it and instead gets the sewing kit.

Before she leaves, Hunter stops her to ask how she knew that she was bisexual and that she had feelings for Amity which Luz answers that she always had a warm feeling in her chest when she would see girls in shows that she liked but she didn’t really get why it really was until she meet and got closer to Amity where that warm feeling was coincident and how it made her want to be around Amity more and more, stating that being around Amity just made her feel happier. Hunter, taking in what Luz said, thanks her before jokingly tells her to get out of his room which Luz laughs but does so.

After she leaves, Hunter starts thinking about how he also felt that warm feeling when Edric asked him to hang out and it grow while they were hanging out but immediately tries to deny it, thinking that there’s no way that he could be having a crush on Edric as they just started becoming friends before continuing to read his book. But as the weeks passed, Hunter started to figure out that his feelings for Ed were developing into something so much more than just a crush the more time he spends with the green haired witch.

One day while Hunter was walking the hallways of Hex side, he spots Edric and starts blushing and goes up to him to say hi but sees a boy with fair skin, black hair and green eyes with Ed and overheard the boy asking Ed if he want to go out with him. Hunter, both hurt and not wanting to make things awkward, leaves while trying to ignore the heartbreaking feeling that was growing inside his chest, thinking to himself that he should have known better than to think that he ever stood a chance with someone like Edric Blight. Little did Hunter know that the boy that was talking to Ed was actually Edric’s ex(either the boy that stood Ed up at Glom night or the boy that Ed went on a date with and had accidently sent his mother a poem but hadn’t ever been shown or mentioned after that) who had been trying to get back together with the Blight boy, even though Ed had told him multiple times that he wasn’t interested.

During potions class, Edric notices that something was off with Hunter. The blonde hadn’t said anything to him other than a quiet hello to him at the beginning of the class period and kept avoiding eye contact with Ed which really worried him. On the other hand, Hunter was trying so hard to bury his emotions as well as his feelings for Edric as an attempt to not make it awkward between them and in turn ruining the friendship that they had created but it was proving to be more and more difficult by the hour.

As soon as the bell screams, Hunter tries to leave the class as quickly as he could to get to his other class that he didn’t have with Ed, but Edric stops him while asking the blonde if he did something to Hunter to make him want to ignore Edric which Hunter, feeling guilty that he caused Edric to worry about him, tells Ed that he didn’t do anything wrong. Confused, Edric asks Hunter why he hadn’t said anything to him besides a hello at the beginning of class but before Hunter can answer, the two get interrupted by the same boy that was talking to Edric in the halls who Hunter could tell that Ed was less then pleased to see again. Edric tells his ex that he wasn’t interested in getting back together with him which surprises Hunter while only angers the green-eyed student. The black-haired male asks if the blonde boy (aka Hunter) was the reason that Ed won’t even consider giving him another chance. Edric, having had enough with the male and without thinking, angerly tells him that Hunter was one of the reasons and that if he had to choose between the two, he would happily choose to date Hunter over him any day which made Hunter face feel really hot. Afterwards Edric takes Hunter’s hand and leads him to the bleachers outside to get away from his ex, who got hexed by someone(Emira as she was passing by) to stop them from leaving.

Once the two sit on the bleacher and the two clear up the misunderstanding from the beginning of class, Edric immediately starts apologizing for bring Hunter into his drama and creating a scene in front of so many people. Hunter, still blushing, tells him that it’s fine before nervously asking Ed if he meant what he said about him choosing to be with Hunter if given the option which makes Edric do the traditional tomato Blight face before nervously saying that yes, he meant it and apologizes if hearing all of that made the blonde uncomfortable. Hunter then reassures Ed that it didn’t, sheepishly admitting that hearing Edric saying that about him made Hunter happy since he feels the same way. Edric, who became even more tomato faced, asks Hunter if he would like to go on a date with him sometime and Hunter, blushing, says that he would like that.

Then the bell screams, letting all of the students know that they need to go to their next class, Edric gets up from the bleachers and gives Hunter his hand to help him up which makes the blonde blush even more. The two go back inside the school hand-in-hand to get their next class which is beast-keeping for the both of them while they’re walking, Hunter texts Luz to ask her if she can help him with his date.
