Gumby…

Gumby is one of those characters you forget after awhile but instantly remember when you see them.

For those who don’t know who this green box-like character is, Gumby was the main character of the Gumby Show and Gumby Adventures. He even starred in his own movie called Gumby: The Movie. The plot of the shows was him having adventures in a world covered with toys and going into different locations through books. He was sometimes accompanied with Pokey the Talking Horse: his sidekick, Prickle: A yellow dinosaur, and Goo: A blue Mermaid.

I used to love to watch Gumby as a kid. I even had the doll of him as well. So, It was kind of weird watching him again as an adult and it is not just because of the nostalgia.

Watching Gumby again made me realized just how surreal it is. It literally has a lot of WTF moments in them.

The drawing I drew actually kinda happens in the episode: Moon Trip.

Gumby goes to the moon, gets attack by rock aliens, practically dies from the cold, he is then recused by his dad, brought to the hospital, he is revived by his parents, and in the final scene, leaves to go on another adventure.

I was looking at my screen, thinking WTF as I laugh at absurdity.

Here’s some clips to show this actually happened.

Also, if the picture looks a little different, it is because it was done in ibispaint. Nowadays, I used procreate for my drawings but I still keep ibispaint on my phone so I can sketch things I like. After watching the episode, I decide to use ibispaint this time around for the entire process.
