Another commission; just finished! Or mostly finished; but any additional tweaks would be behind the scenes stuff. The fire elements were some shutterstock grabs, but everything else is original modelling.
One of the more reasonable Frontier monsters; though I still made some pretty notable design changes to it in the process of updating it to a more World-like standard.

Finished commission for Bobcat and their original variant of Guanzorumu, this is a full colored headshot

Monster Hunter Frontier has a lot of unique monsters. I made a personal list of all the unique large monsters (as in no subspecies, variants, burst species etc) in Frontier and how much I want to see them return

Even of the monsters I don't particularly like, it's more so due to finding them redundant to mainline entries.
For this variety of(rarely seen and even more rarely researched)elder dragon, yes! Guanzorumu commands a species of flying wyvern(or wingdrake) to do it's bidding! Most of the notes on it are from Mezaporta hunters, so not much is known about it because of the local scientists' secrecy. You'd need way more authorization than I have to access their notes.
ngl there’s a lot of cool things frontier introduced that i think are under appreciated/should make a return somehow and it’s the inclusion of high grade/hardcore monsters.
a lot of alternative forms for mons (such as apex, deviant, risen, etc.) are saved for fan favorites and flagships which is totally understandable!!! frontier also has something like that with zeniths and technically origin species. however, what i like about hc monsters is that it’s not exclusive to just the fan favorites. even the dromes get it.
while they aren’t that visually distinct from their original counterparts, they’re properly remixed monsters. they get new moves, affects added to some attacks, and they really do stand almost toe-to-toe with normally more powerful monsters. of course more than just the basic beginner mons got hc variants, but honestly, the dromes being actual threats as you move up in ranks would be nice. i think the idea of the mons that live in groups are underutilized. frontier had an elder dragon that took advantage of the concept (guanzorumu is amazing) but it’s not used much outside of that even within spin-offs.
there are also some species of wyvern (namely bird wyverns) that don’t have a lot of actually truly powerful monsters, with the stronger ones being more annoying than anything else. yes, the dev team can make more birds and whatever else in the future—it’s not impossible and has been done—but with how many are just basic, i think having something akin to hc mons for normally lower threat monsters would be really neat.
Some behind-the-scenes looks at my Guanzorumu model; the raw painted colours, wireframe, and a colourless render of the geo+normal, respectively. The original high-poly was around 15 million polys, and the final model is around 80K with two sets of 4k texture maps. Both sets contain a diffuse, roughness, and baked normal maps, as is standard, but there's also a transparency map which creates the frayed wing edges and a translucency map that adds a bit of glow-through on the wing membranes as well.
Maybe some Frontier love? I’d love to see Hyujikiki boxed!
oh no the box got spiked!
i never have the chance to play Frontier due to some technical problem, but i watched some videos and read some lore
also since Frontier already closed i’ve draw some other Frontier’s monsters that i like as well (been drawing them since before the game closed but just finished all the planned one recently)
from left to right, top to bottom :
Laviente : already been requested and posted before, but since he’s a Frontier monster, here he is again :D
Hyujikiki : his roar is too cute, i love it
Espinas : actually i really like the zenith design, but i kinda want to stick with the base looks XD
Kamu/Nono Ougarons : they formed a good pair
Midogaron : he’s sad but he’s also cool
Rukodiora : super cool theme, i actually like Spyro Rebidiora’s theme more but Ruko’s is still really nice.
Disufiroa : handsome-looking monster, how can i not XD
Pariapuria : his eating mechanic is something i want to see get tweaked into the main line games
Inagami : i really love everything about him, good design, good theme, etc. but GOG why is this monster so gogdamn hard to draw
Duremudira : i was skeptical about his design when i first saw him, but watching his fight is like wowwie, i like this monster.
Guanzorumu : good theme and has interesting take on small monsters as his minions
Harudomerugu : also kinda skeptical at first, but his ability just looks too cool
Frontier has some really cool monster designs and mechanics that i’d love to see in the main line game (perhaps tweaked a bit to be more fitted)
rip Frontier, may something takes up its legacy in the future
