note: not checked for grammar or spelling mistakes / i could make a second part to make it a bit more fluffier if you guys would be interested? writing for hook is harder than i realized tbh serious props to the girlies who can write for him well

you stared at Griff and Brian, seeing as they were trying to scramble to cover up Julia's eventual turn. hearing them going on about "saving" her from the House of Black made you roll your eyes even harder than usual. you had been apart of Varsity Blonds, escorting them when Julia wasn't available from time to time. they, excluding Julia, had turned against you after your nasty breakup with Griff.

you were still enrolled at your hometowns college and were determined to finish off school so when you weren't wrestling or doing promotion for AEW, you were usually head first into your laptop. you slammed your laptop down harshly and moved to a table a few rows down so you wouldn't have to hear Griff's voice going on and on. what you hadn't realized was that you were in direct view of Team Taz, particularly Ricky and Hook who were sitting behind you.

"she's still fighting with them?" Ricky asked Hook. he shrugged, not really knowing what to say as he wasn't considerably close with you. his dad had trained you for a while before you moved to another state to fight for a smaller promotion. "she trained with Taz right? she seems like she's in a bit of a limbo and we can help her out," Ricky said, not giving Hook a chance to respond.

you were far too engrossed in your laptop to hear what Ricky and Hook were talking about but suddenly you felt a weight on the table making you pull out of your own little world. you looked up to see Ricky, Hook, and now Hobbs standing in front of you. you stared at them, scared about why they were surrounding you all of a sudden.

"hey?" you asked carefully. you stared at Hook considering you knew him the best out of the three, "listen, we know what's going on with you and those idiots over there. we got a proposition for you," Ricky said sitting down in front of you, eerily reminiscent of the contract signing he had with Dante a few months back, "join Team Taz and we'll get back at them for you."

your eyebrows came down in confusion, "where did this come from?" you asked, "did you even get approval from Tony or even Taz about this? I swear if Griff or Brian put you up to this, I'll beat all three of you," you added on. Ricky shook his head as Hobbs put his arm around you, "picture it, getting revenge on Griff, doesn't that sound wonderful?" he asked, "we can do that for you and if you want your hands on Julia for whatever reason, that can happen too," Ricky followed up.

"if you get Tony and Taz on it, I'm not opposed to the idea, I just don't know if I'm Team Taz material," you admitted. in a sense, you had a point. you didn't fit the style Team Taz currently had. your gimmick fitted closely to Varsity Blonds even though you weren't a blond (if you are then skip past this lmao) which is why Tony had you there with them. you had that popular high school kid vibe to you and that wasn't exactly what Team Taz had going on at the moment.

Ricky nodded in agreement as Hook characteristically offered you food, "welcome home," was all he said before starting to walk away. you turned to him, rolling your eyes jokingly as he did the same before fully joining up with Ricky and Willie.

Wednesday night came around and within the few days that you were back at home, you were getting constant updates from Ricky about the situation. you were scheduled to make an appearance to fight Kris; however, after Tony's approval, you got to work on fitting in with Team Taz. lucky for you, Varsity Blonds were scheduled to fight Dark Order tonight which gave you more than enough room to work with.

"afternoon boys!" you said excitedly. Ricky laughed at your happy-go-lucky attitude as Hobbs waved and Hook remained silent, "think you'll be ready for tonight? lots of surprised reactions will come from it," you nodded, "Taz trained me for half a year, if anything, they won't be ready for me!" you replied. Ricky nodded smugly as you grabbed your jacket and pulled it on.

you were already wearing your gear and had the iconic orange and black "Team Taz" shirt hidden inside of it. as Ricky and Hobbs left to get final approval for the nights showing, you remained sitting down with Hook, trying to get some work done before the show began. he looked over to your laptop, his eyes widening at the amount of pages you had written over a research paper.

"you're smart smart huh?" he asked. you shrugged, trying not to make yourself overly smug, "not really. just standard work for college. did you ever enroll after high school or did you stick to wrestling?" you asked. Hook shook his head no, "really never was the academic kid. just did what I had to do to graduate and trained afterwards."

you hummed, "that's cool. my mom would've killed me if I didn't sign up for college. she nearly did when I told her I was moving to New York to train," you laughed. Hook chuckled at the way your eyes widened at the memory, "but look at ya know. you're still in college and working for the best company in the world," you knew he was dramatizing the last bit of what he said but you couldn't help but giggle. this was the first time you had spoken to Hook one on one and you were glad you were getting along well with him.

"what're you guys doing there? we have to prepare!" Ricky yelled from down the hall. you quickly jumped out of your seat, shoving your things into your bag and into the temporary locker they assigned you. Hook followed behind you, making sure no one (Griff more than anyone) were there to hear about tonights plans.

the show was starting off loud and fast paced as usual. there were a few matches scheduled before Varsity Blonds and Dark Order were set to wrestle. you were sitting backstage trying to make it seem as though you were working with Tony on the monitors. Ricky and the rest of Team Taz were spread around doing the same as Griff, Brian, and Julia came to the black curtains.

you stared at the monitor with no intention to give Griff the time of day as their music started up. you had made small conversation with Anna as she was sitting down next to you, wondering why you back there if you weren't scheduled for anything. you knew not to say anything out of not wanting to ruin the surprise.

"oh, I just wanted to see how creative did the work tonight, are you joining John and Alex for their fight with Griff and Brian tonight?" you asked. she nodded, "you and Griff still mad at each other?" she asked. you rolled your eyes at Griff's name making her see that it was very much still true.

before she could reply, Dark Orders them rang off making her scramble to join them. you felt Ricky, Hobbs, and Hook standing behind you as they saw you visibly tense at the way Griff was hyping himself up against John. Hook put his hands on your shoulders as a way to calm you down but your face started to warm up at it. Hook never was the physical person, at least not to you.

the match began as Griff and John started off in the ring. John was giving Griff a few good blows but you noticed Griff started getting the upper hand. you were hoping that he tagged Alex in before he could tap out but before that could happen, Tony said there was less than a minute before all of you went to interrupt. Hook had tightened his grip on your shoulders making you wonder if this was his way of calming you down.

"four, three, two.....one!" Tony yelled as the lights in the arena shut down. you heard Taz laughing as Excalibur started to question what was going on, "now I know these blond idiots aren't thinking they're going to sit up here and act like they can wrestle," Ricky screamed into the mic.

you were still told to remain backstage as the three went to the ring, "yall are some clowns if that's what you're actually thinking," he continued, "I know of someone who has more talent in her damn pink in comparison to the two of you," he said laughing manically. the Team Taz theme rang off again as you walked out, smirking at the way the crowd reacted. some confused but others excited.

Ricky and Hobbs opened the ropes for you as you had put on the Team Taz shirt quickly behind stage and fit it to adjust your style. you stared at the now pinned Griff as John was screaming at him to tap out. John had put him in a nasty lock as Anna couldn't help but laugh to herself as she put two and two together.

Griff immediately tapped out, not being able to take the pain anymore as John jumped out of the ring knowing that you were about to cause some more damage to Griff. Hook stood behind you as a way to make a statement that he wasn't going to let Griff get the upper hand.

"you had your time making me into a joke in this ring," you started as you bent down to his level, "but what you failed to realize was that I was trained by the best and Taz knows no mercy, am I right?" you asked Hook who agreed, "so let me tell you a little story here Garrison. after I beat your ass into this ring, it'll be a matter of time before Julia does the same and it's coming faster than you think. this is also what you get for cheating on me in Vegas three months ago."

the crowd went stunned silent as Ricky, Hobbs, and Hook stared at you in surprised. they had no idea you were going to admit all that but they weren't exactly mad at it.

you immediately grabbed Griff's hair as Brian went in to try and save him but were immediately grabbed by Ricky and Hobbs who pinned him to the turnbuckle, "this is karma that you and Brian so much deserve. did anyone ever tell you that the 80s were long gone? because I think it's time we cut the hair, right boys?" you said smiling down at him as Ricky handed you a pair of scissors. Griff's eyes immediately widened realizing what you were implying as you opened and closed them.

Griff went to stand up but Hook took it as a sign of him trying to attack you and immediately grabbed him by the stupid letterman jacket he still had on. Hook whipped him to the side of the ring, not saying a word but doing more damage physically. he had punched him in the face a few times before kicking him down once more and hitting his stomach.

Taz eventually joined the four of you in ring as he held your hand up, screaming in support as Ricky, Hobbs, and more importantly, Hook, stood next to you. Hook held your other hand up as the crowd was still screaming in excitement. you stared at them, not believing that you went from absolutely no way of getting back at your grimy ex boyfriend to having an entire trio behind you.

Hobbs and Ricky blew the final punches to Brian before leaving the ring as Hook stared down at Griff and scoffed before opening the ropes for you to leave. you stared at Julia who hadn't moved an inch since the start of the match. you gave her a smile which she promptly returned before leaving Brian and Griff to suffer on their own inside of the ring.

as soon as all of you made it backstage, Tony had all of you pulled into the photography room to take pictures as the newest member of Team Taz. you were retouching your makeup as they set up the cameras and lights. Hook was standing next to you waiting for everything to start meanwhile Hobbs and Ricky went to get a bite to eat.

"think I did okay?" you asked. Hook nodded immediately, "more than okay. can't believe you admitted to the public what Griff actually did to you," he replied. you shrugged knowing that fans were going to give Griff hell for that, "asshole deserved it. maybe he should have learned not to cheat on people."

the photographer called for you and Hook to start on pictures first considering Hobbs and Ricky weren't back yet. you did a few on your own as Hook remained to the side and watched. you were showing off the Team Taz shirt off in a few while others you were just smiling at the camera. eventually, the photographer called in Hook to take pictures.

the first few were of you just posing side by side but eventually, you climbed onto Hook's back, smiling and messing up his hair in others. Ricky and Hobbs walked in mid shoot before looking at each other in surprise. they knew that Hook was a bit different around you but they had chalked it up to you just being new to the team but now that they saw the way he allowed you to hold him and mess up his hair, they knew it was more than just you joining the team.

once they called it quits with you and Hook in order to set up the cameras for all four of you including Taz, they had pulled Hook to the side as you were demolishing a burger in the corner. Ricky started at his younger counterpart with an evident smirk playing on his face.

"didn't think you'd like her so quickly," he joked. Hook knew that Ricky was just messing with him but in this case, he didn't want to joke back about you, "neither did I," Hobbs stared at him in surprise as Ricky started to laugh, "damn kid, she was on the team for five seconds and you're already in love?" he replied.

they all stared at you as you were talking with Taz with a mouthful of burger. you were far too engrossed into the conversation but Hook knew what Hobbs said was partially true. he wouldn't call it love but there was something there for you and it was growing quickly.
