Sharing my favourite photo of me and my mum with a little note just to say how much I love her, how amazing she is, to tell her how incredible she’s doing looking after her family during lockdown when we all have our challenges, and to remind her she deserves to look after herself and be looked after ❤️ My mum has been my actual rock whilst coming off my opioids and benzodiazepines, and I literally couldn’t have done this without her constant love, support and unwavering belief in me, her cheerleading and encouragement, and occasional much needed kick up the ass. She’s been there for me even on the days withdrawal has made me absolutely foul (I’ve tried very hard not to be, but detox turns your brain into emotion soup 🙈😂). She’s my angel 😇 and I’m grateful beyond words she’s my mum, every single day 🥰❤️ She’s taught me through example that it’s possible to be very poorly but still love an extraordinary life, that you can always defy doctors expectations, and that there’s light, love, beauty and joy to be found even in a life lived in immense pain. Today, I feel full. Like the loved up, seen, and heard kind of full. This social media thing is funny to me. Wonderful-funny. Distractingly-funny. Annoyingly-funny. Life-connecting-funny. I started this account in 2012, in the midst of being a brand new mom and in the midst of my depression. I don't know, maybe I was looking for a distraction. Or a message. Maybe I was trying to say something then. Or see something. Since then, I have found loving connections through being vulnerable. I have found wisdom through creation and childlike play. I have found people living and loving boldly and beautiful. I have disappointment and upsets. I have found growth. I have found that yoga can take place many ways. It's a state of life. A testament of love. A path of healing. It's limitless and lifelong. I am full today from this morning's chat with @jenpastiloff. I am full today from lunch with @carrot_bowl_bonnie. In my head, I am squealing, "Omg! I get to chat or hang with these women! Like whoa!" Without this square, I wouldn't know these women. Getting the chance to hear one on the phone and see another in person is something I'll never take for granted. And while they live miles from me, and many wonderful women that heart-warrior-it-up with me do, I feel them as though they're standing right beside. The kind of HELL YES women that encourage and go forward, even when it's scary. This is sacred. I hope you all have women in your life like this. I hope we continue to meet and find this sacredness within each other as life keeps us open. Today, I am full. WARNING! A lengthy one.😅 Today I started the first hour of my work feeling grateful. Grateful that little things matter, a pat in the back is what everybody needs and I got mine today. 😊😊 Today I’ve realised that when rock bottom hits you it hits really hard. I realised that when loneliness strikes you are in desperate need of yourself, finding yourself and fixing yourself. Getting up and taking it day by day, going through the process and still being positive that things will fall according To Gods plan. I have been in my weakest and the strongest days of my life. Cried for so long, felt nothing but numbness. I realised that we should all be the better version of ourselves. Be kind even when your tired. Do more of what is asked of you. Don’t silently expect something in return too. Be the greatest person you can ever be, and when you messed up make up for it in the next moment, next minute and even the slightest second of it. Just shout “plot twist” and move on. And when you don’t see light, don’t worry. Like what they’ve said like moths, good people are attracted to the flame of light and they will come. #happiness #gratefuleverydamnday
