"DC Pride" Returns for 2024

DC Comics' has announced that DC Pride, its anthology celebrating LGBTQIA+ characters is retuning for 2024. The 104-page comic is presented in a Prestige format.

Avevo sentito molto parlare di questo fumetto, ma onestamente mi aspettavo decisamente di più, sarò sincera (e per fortuna l'ho solo preso in prestito dalla biblioteca). Sìsì, lo so cosa pensate: ma non dovevi studiare come una matta? Sì, infatti l'ho preso tra uno smadonnamento e l'altro nella ricerca di libri che, stranamente, non si trovano. Ho pensato di farmi un favore, anche solo per staccare un po' dai libri dell'uni. Quindi, Basilicò. Parla di una famiglia palermitana, con tutti i suoi lati negativi. Onestamente, non ne ho visti molti di positivi, probabilmente perché non sono palermitana e non sono riuscita a coglierli, almeno credo. Non lo so, i personaggi semplicemente vengono presentati come persone "reali", con delle vite non esattamente rosee, ma sono evidenziati più i difetti che non altro. Avrei forse dovuto provare compassione per la madre? O per i figli, che non sono riusciti a crearsi una vita? Una cosa che ho apprezzato, invece, è stata l'onestà e veridicità di alcune scene. Forse un po' forzate nel contesto, ma tutto sommato sono delle ricostruzioni piuttosto veritiere della realtà, senza edulcoranti. Comunque mi aspettavo di meglio.

There's nothing overt about Hartley in this year's Pride issue, but here's the solicit just in case. Maybe he'll appear in a pin-up.

DC Comics has announced the stories and creative teams for this year's DC Pride anthology.

"Hello' Spaceboy" from writer Al Ewing, artist Stephen Byrne, and letterer Aditya Bidikar follows Blue Starman.

"The Rivers and the Lakes That You're Used To" from writer and artist Ngozi Ukazu and letterer Lucas Gattoni follows Jackson Hyde Aquaman.

"Marasmius" from writer Gretchen Felker-Martin, artist Claire Roe, colorist Triona Farrell, and letterer Aditya Bidikar follows Poison Ivy and Janet from HR.

"Steeling Time" from writer Jamila Rowser, artist Oneilljones, and letterer Jodie Troutman follows Natasha Irons Steel.
