haven't really made an OC in about.. 8 years? (i dont count my DnD/ESO characters tbf) never saw the point & never felt inspired enough, i guess. i want to get better at character design though, so i'm giving it a very rough try.

I love fanon Codfather Jimmy designs sm
I’ve seen a lot of really creative one’s out there. We as a fandom have had to be creative because all the man gave us to work with was this.
Bro literally just made his clothes green, slapped some slime on, and called it a day. I mean, we have his custom armor, but c’mon man- 😭😭
I’ll show you guys my design for him some other time, but here are some headcanons for Jimmy, Lizzie, and just merfolk in general.
Jimmy has long hair that falls around his shoulders. Merfolk usually keep their hair very long. Lizzie’s hair is super long and goes down to her knees. Merfolk are also one of the tallest species in Empires. Female merfolk are typically taller than males. Merfolk royalty are taller than the others. Most merfolk are 7-8 feet, while the royal family is 8-10. Jimmy is short for his species.
Like Lizzie, Jimmy does actually look like a fish. He has brown scales like a cod, fins, gills, a tail, webbed hands, sharp teeth, and claws. Merfolk all look like specific kinds of fish or sea creatures.
There are many small sea creatures that have latched on to Lizzie such as barnacles, coral, and starfish. When she goes on land, they don’t dry out because of the moisture on her scales and Ocean Queen stuff ig. Merfolk can’t leave the water for too long. They can spend a decent amount of time (8 hours) on land before they begin to dry out.
Lizzie and Jimmy’s mother was the former Goddess and Queen of the Ocean. She passed away shortly after laying her two eggs. Lizzie and Jimmy were her only children. After she died, she passed on her role as goddess to Lizzie. Any extra magic was given to Jimmy, and he became a god of sorts as well, just a lesser one/demigod. The seablings mother was the first and only Ocean Goddess/Queen for many years. When she passed, the merfolk were left without a ruler for a while. Lizzie didn’t go rule them because she was deep under the ocean waiting for Jimmy to hatch. She waited for thousands of years. The merfolk didn’t have a ruler for a long, long time, and had instead appointed many acting rulers while they waited for their Queen. During the events of Empires, when Lizzie became the Ocean Queen, the merfolk hadn’t seen their original ruler for centuries, so they assumed that Lizzie was the original goddess and had come back. They didn’t know that she was her daughter.
This is probably a mess and definitely has quite a few plot holes lmao
Designs for just MCYT characters in general are so cool. Like, all we have to work with are pixels and people are so freaking creative with their designs.

ok this is 1. late and 2. Very specific but with the mer au specifically I like how dream is (basically, idk many green saltwater fish) a trout in the ocean. or just generic river fish in ocean its very cute :3 unless manatees are freshwater too and dream Is a freshwater fish then thats a first to me!!!! ive always seen saltwater mers so its nice to see freshwater mers :) and how its not just human and slap a fish tail on them theres Variety. along with how George is more. roughed up ig? dreams is more soft and theres more algae and George looks more like a betta fish (salt. water? maybe? im like 99% sure its freshwater and its domesticated :D!!!) bc of how his gills look (betta fish are also called siamese fighting fish) just realized this sounds kind of autistic Sorry im. a marine biology lover. future fish scientist if you will
Actually! Dream was a saltwater mer that moved to live in the mangroves (mangroves are usually 50/50 salt and fresh water! Dream just adapted to the environment since he moved when he was young) he’s not really based on any fish cause In my mer headcanons mermaids aren’t based on a certain fish, they just look similar from living in similar habitats altho I DO get inspo from real fish sometimes!)
And thank you! I love adding details in the skin as well as the tail cause idk I just think the features should be all over the whole body not separated by tail? Idk that just makes sense to me haha
George is actually a fun case cause he WAS inspired by bettas in the old design but the more recent ones are inspired by bream! (You can see the silver-ish scales and the fin!) but yes the tail and ear fins are still reminiscent of the betta fish inspo

Mer Dream is mostly inspired by leafy sea dragons but most of it is just based on what if mermaids lived in kelp forests / mangroves? But if I had to choose an inspo it’d be this guy
I’m also a marine biology lover it’s been my long long hyperfix for most of my life haha
Also another fun fact my alien Gnf is also based on underwater creatures too! But mostly the deep sea ones haha

Synthwave Trolls
[An original tribe made by yours truly!!]
Uhh okay I USED to have a whole document of the Synthwave Trolls and what they were like, etc etc, butttt I may or may not have lost it so I’m just gonna wing it!!
Synthwave Trolls are a smaller tribe of trolls that live in the depths of the sea. They’re nomads, never sticking to one place for longer than a few months. They’re fully aquatic and cannot spend much time outside of water cause it’ll dry out their luscious gills! Out of all the genres, Synthwave trolls are probably some of the more distantly related than the others. They come in a large array of colors, stemming from bright to dull. Their colors also vary depending on the tone of their music.
Synthwave Troll royalty usually look different from their subjects. Royals will be bigger with more markings on their body. Every royal has blue and white eyes, though average Synthwave trolls can as well. They also often more than not wear a crown. The crown was sculpted by their ancestors and has been passed down through the generations.
Onto life style and biology or whatever, it’s been previously mentioned that Synthwave Trolls live exclusively in water. They can breathe in any water, though chlorinated water can make them sick (thankfully there isn’t chlorine in trollstopia). They live in caves and deep reefs, usually dark places as they’re bioluminescence and don’t exactly need extra light. Due to living in such a dark environment they have developed great night vision. And while they can see amazingly in the dark, their eyes struggle to adjust to the light overwater. It doesn’t hurt them, other than blurry vision and some stinging upon first surfacing.
Synthwave Trolls share a lot of physical and biological similarities with axolotls, actually! The troll’s gills are feathery and despite having lungs, will mainly breath through them. It also goes for how when feeling sick their gills will thin/deflate. They can regenerate limbs to a degree. Unlike axolotls, they can’t regenerate their organs.
Their current ruler is Queen Saomi, her son Prince Nomi ruling by her side. Theyre introduced into the canon when Prince Nomi is sent to find a new home for his people, as Saomi is getting too old to keep traveling. Plus, with the never ending threat of Shark Beast attacks, they need a safe place to settle. Nomi leaves and stumbles upon Trollstopia, where he meets Poppy’s Grinchilla, Perky. Of course Perky isn’t far from Poppy, so soon enough she, Holly and Val stumble upon him. Yada yada stuff I haven’t decided yet!
That’s all I really have for them other than a few silly fun facts lol
• Synthwave Tribe trolls’s days usually depend on the music they listen to. Listening to a song with a soft base boost and gentle beat keeps them the chill, happy creatures they are. But more loud or boosted music will make them more loud themselves, and could even change their mood. It’s easier for older Synthwave Trolls to control than younger ones, but it still has an impact.
• They gift each other things a lot. Shells, rocks, clams, you name it! Same goes for stealing, if they see something they like they won’t hesitate to snatch it. It’s a norm for Synthwave Trolls to just take things they like, even if the other wants it back.
• They like making portraits! Usually out of sunken driftwood, pretty shells, seaweed, etc.

HI ITS ME IM BACK. (once again, I wrote this one first)
And this time I’m talking about Mirror Birds, aka, Jimmy and Martyn.
So, first of all, as a humongous Mirror Birds (Property Police) fan, holy shit, the boys are back together again, being that weird sort of slightly pathetic and maybe (character wise) gay that they have always been. (Examples: Mean Gills, Flower Husbands, 3rd Life (when Martyn tried to take Jimmy away from Scott at the start-), When they buried Jimmy, Whatever was going on in the Southlands, etc-) These two have always had their moments, AND they have been together since EVO (off server of course, they didn’t play together since evo until 3rd life i do believe).
But Martyn has always been a survivor. Hey, remember when Tango said that about Etho to Bdubs? It’s true for Martyn too, and he’s just proved it. He said it himself, in his episode, the main reason he went to Jimmy was because Jimmy was “gullible” and he needed someone to complete his task. Martyn tends to either go for the best way to survive, or someone he cares for (Ren??? Ig- maybe he thought he’d survive with his king. Or he just liked the roleplay) and Jimmy fits into the useful category simply because of the way this season works. If he needs someone to do something that he can’t tell them he needs them to do, then Jimmy would work well.
I love Jimmy, he’s one of my blorbos, but he is also kind of naive, in a positive sense of course. He’s like a lost cat. He needs someone to take care of him, and hey Martyn totally offered. And Jimmy has never held what life a player is on against them, unless they are Red, or he has something against them in general. (I don’t really know this and it’s too late to search, my coffee is running out. He gives those vibes.) Martyn being Yellow isn’t going to get him out of Jimmy’s big shack.
Now, Don’t get me wrong, I love their friendship, and I didn't fully mean to angst-ify it in teh beginning, but who am I if not an angsty person 😎. Also you can’t tell me I’m wrong, Martyn craves to survive, despite being the first to Yellow.

Heheh buckle up cause I'm sick and have nothing better to do with myself than to rant abt my ocs online (unrelated but I can't even hardly swallow water and it sucks :)
The context is these people live in an apartment/house with rooms for rent (still working things out) and strange things happen (yes i know that's INCREDIBLY vague but I don't want to give too much away yet)
Alr my first, chronologically, is Gill Moody
(First two are picrews, the rest is my art)
I'm not gonna delve into the plot just yet, cause I want to actually write/draw this story (it was originally gonna be a webcomic but I started writing it instead and I think I like it better that way)
Anyway, Gill is 23, he's got a little sister Shirley (I don't seem to have any pictures of her on my phone so this can be a joint description; shes just a small girl version of him with pigtails). Shirley is 8, and Gill took her with him when he moved out at 18 cause their parents were not safe to live with. They've moved from place to place, obviously kinda struggling, and they finally found this place (working title: arthur's place/house) with cheap rent, SUSPICIOUSLY cheap rent, but at this point it's what Gill can afford, so that's where they're moving. EXCEPT, the day that Gill goes the sign the lease, while Shirley is at school, after he signs it, he ~mysteriously dissappears~~~~
Next is Jessie.

(I'll copy paste what I have in my reference doc:) She was a rebellious teenager when living with her parents as an only child, and got into some trouble stealing things, etc. Her parents were rich but they cut her off financially when she grew up and moved out. She tried to make a living but she didn’t go to college and had a hard time finding a decent job with marks on her record. She managed to find a retail job that would pay for Arthur’s apartment, especially when Hattie moved in. (End paste) She doesn't get along GREAT with the rest, and she definitely has a secret. She particularly dislikes Iggy and Shirley, but tolerates Hattie, and REALLY likes Wheeler ;) ;)

My main thing with Mean Gills is the amount of potential it had when their relationship was ultimately a very surface level alliance? But godd it's like. The pieces were there and that's what the fandom is for baby!! The Mean Gills appeal and potential is immense... It didn't go very deep and I think Scott was more or less content with that (and Martyn ig too, wet outdoor cat), nothing more and nothing less than what an alliance should be for him... though, and I'm quoting a friend here (I cant put it into words any better than them man), he needs to feel needed and the only time he got that in this alliance is when Martyn killed him. It's... gh it's pain man those two fuckers. I want to see them reconnect again so bad

💌 Introduction...
I've always been terrible at introductions. Always wondering what should I say, is this too much? Too less? Hence I've never had bio/introduction on any social platform. But Tumblr is different. It's just been a week since i joined but I've never loved any platform so much. Tumblr feels like a safe home... where i don't have to think too much about what to say. I love this girl so much. sister from another mother fr. Also I love her mom 😭 who basically treats me like her daughter. Then there's @imacrickthing who's my baby. One more light in my life. She's my niece who's just 5 years younger to me lol. (Indian families be weird like that) I'm technically her आत्या lol. But we're more like besties only. Also love her mom who's my second mom basically. My वहिनी. And just like these cuties i have many more cuties in my life who just make me so happy. Who make life worth living. the aliens from the show are difficult, I have a reboot in my head but I'll separate them for hopefully a more digestible read I also haven't seen the show in a long time so my memory is blahhh
General Headcanons
Coverton gives me amphibious vibes, tho I do think those cheek "flaps" are like. gills or something, not exactly. his chrysalis rejuvenation molting whatever is ?? helps keep his skin squishy soft and get rid of skin disease. human equivalent of a "birthday" but he only does it every 6¾ (earth) years, he's also 180 so you do the math for his human age
"Coverton" is not his real name, that's a title, as is "Coverlord" for leader of the interstellar conquering empire
loves a good mocha, I also think he would like boba tea. idk I like to imagine the aliens just trying earth drinks, I'm gonna project more and say he doesn't like soda, or champagne but does appreciate wine. the lemonade he had from the pilot was meh, whatever
from what I understand Sta'abi doesn't have a home anymore? she's a survivor of some horrid giant beast's rampage. at some point she left her planet to join an interspecies group of warriors that travel the stars, which has some association to the Coverlord Empire. so her position under this council of warriors is.. a monster hunter
her favourite kind of food is from the sea, enjoys shellfish & cephalopods the most (because her usual hunt is on land, seafood is fancy). she likes to dance despite not being very elegant, but her priority is "the mission" which excludes "having fun" (tho her idea of fun is tag)
Sqweep's skin is like. dry slime. or putty texture. she is like a sterilised marshmallow if that makes any sense. smells like roasted walnuts or a burnt almond cookie
Reboot Headcanons

Coverton's legs are pretty weak compared to even the average of his species, Earth's atmosphere & gravity doesn't help either. so while he can stand, it's only for a brief time, it also fluctuates how long depending on the weather. he'd use his hoverchair or just put the spacesuit on, especially for going outdoors
can't stand saltwater, lousy swimmer, afraid of Earth's ocean & easily seasick
unlike show canon, his telekinesis is artificial & enhanced with technology
weighs like a bunch of grapes, flexible & hypermobile, near-sighted so he may wear contact lense

idk why I feel like she has a hundred or more siblings, not many are close to each other. perhaps several parents too, at least 5
like her parents and grandparents and great grandparents she's a super rich adult scientist that works as part of an interstellar organisation dedicated to protecting life harbouring star systems
a field researcher therefore planetary explorer, her job is to document & study life on Earth
likes romantic comedies, and loves all animals on Earth, but she's allergic to fur, which is devastating
since she does have a face and therefore is able to emote, I think the antenna colour coded light emoting is unnecessary. I'd like to find another place for it in relation to her but not her biology itself. she sparkles instead
pretty sure no bones (therefore no teeth), light as a cloud so a gust of wind could send her off like a tumbleweed, but I feel the density of her own body can regulate itself, depending on certain conditions? covered in fine fuzz, her nubby hands (tentacles?) hold things like itty bitty hooks
can't digest foods unless in the form of fluids, probably likes bland foods tbh. anything too flavorful would make her head explode
y'know maybe her species is. delicious. their "flesh" tastes like space mango, but cotton candy weight & texture 💀
some of the concepts I refer to for the most challenging and frustrating of the alien bunch, and today's look of her as I also went through & played with various designs
this version of Sta'abi is dropped on Earth to manage her "anger issues". her peers decided she needed to chill out, which is coincidentally the same day a vornicarn is brought into the world. as a hunter, she would've killed on sight, but after helping to capture it and being held captive by Area 5X herself, she starts to empathize with and eventually befriend the creature
Coverton eventually gets her to somewhat roam free in the facility and offers her a way off world but only if she helps him with his plans. he's not completely transparent about them and Sta'abi just wants to leave, she's already familiar with the empire he works for so there's some trust in his word
the males of her species have wings? is that canon? I feel like it's canon.. but in modern days they're just for show, can't fly but can glide and catch wind to hover, though only for so long as they're mostly small
none of these concept art belong to me btw if that wasn't obvious I just took them from the wiki
came from the only egg that survived the initial meteor crash & wasn't frozen to death, laid dormant and got covered in the antartic ice until global warming exposed it millions of years later (which scientists soon discover but let the monster agents investigate as they have alien consultants)
instead of Link's nose I really hammed up the alien parody for my own indulgence haha (blood cw; initial drawings + non-canon chest bursting)
steals coverton's chocolate either when he's not looking or right in his face, probably doesn't like baths, loves chin/neck scratches & belly rubs (only from Sta'abi)
smells with the tip of his tongue, bipedal & quadrupedal, not great at hearing
skin is scaly like a snake, full of muscle
can and will survive in all extreme environments except the desert? for heat & hydration reasons mayhaps as he can't withstand both at once
some of these may change with time and I'd love to read everyone else's hcs! or how you'd rewrite them perhaps :]

hrnggg. fnc thoughts. particularly pertaining to my ZTHAB au.
in both universes, chip, jay, and gillion are meant to be a trio. they’re meant to find eachother. they’re soulmates, if you will.
i don’t think fnc is canon to the actual au. so this is more of an au of an au. (everything here is canon to ZTHAB except for romantic fnc.) but. prime!chip meets displaced!gillion and. hey there’s something there. something a little special, y’know? but also somethings not right. like, they have great chemistry and they’re kinda half-flirting, but somethings missing.
then prime!gillian comes into the picture and it’s just the same guy but less fish. prime!chip is immediately just kinda smitten. there’s a bit of a rivalry almost, cause chip’s been hanging out with displaced!gillion this whole time and is kinda on his side for the most part, but like he meets prime!gill and the sparks jut fly. they hit it off, both in terms of getting along but also in actually literally hitting each other. they get into this fight on a rooftop (parallel to riptide #15 >:]]]) and chip almost falls, but oh? he’s been grabbed at the last second? and the two of them have this flirty heart-to-heart with their feet dangling off the edge. (important detail: chip would not have died if he had fallen, what with. y’know. teleportation powers.) and displaced!gillion is left not so much jealous but just kinda heartbroken. not because necessarily in love with this chip but because he can’t quite process just how much they WERENT made for each other.
ohhhhhhmygod and i’m just now thinking about mana!chip and how he plays into this. cause while on prime everybody’s just having a great (ish) time, with mostly just relationship drama, he and mana!jay are at each others throats. literally. i haven’t gone too into this part of the story on tumblr, mostly cause it’s not too set in stone, but like.
displaced!gillion returns to mana a long time after leaving it. a year, maybe? probably a bit less, but you get the idea. long time. and the people he knows he’s meant to know are trying to kill eachother. and he barely reaches them in time, maybe they’re about to land the killing blows. maybe they’re already bleeding out from their wounds, barely clinging to life. regardless of how he finds them, he heals them up, introduces himself properly, tears in his eyes, and finally sees what’s happened to his would-be friends without him.
they’re bloody, dirty, and full of heartbreaking amounts of hate and fire. metaphorically and literally. they’re barely recognizable. but in their battle, they’ve essentially been abandoned by their respective sides, navy and pirate alike. and so, they set off together. just the three of them. (and pretzel.) (and gillion’s friends from an alternate reality, with whom he is still somewhat in contact with.) and they begin to heal, together. and gillion finally realizes why he felt so sad and bitter about prime!gillion and prime!chip’s relationship.
(whoops it’s kind of just albatrio. again. the fnc is very easily eliminated once more. oh well. platonic pirate soulmates for the win ig)

Ghost headcanons I have that I just had to share <3
Ghoul edition
Anywayz so um yeah what the title said, just thoughts I had abt Ghouls
☆The Ghouls in gereal☆
Ghouls' masks are mostly to hide their faces, obviously, and they can't not wear themn around the ministry
The normal ghoul masks look something like the Meliora era ones, the only ones that change are the band ghouls
Speaking about band ghouls, they get special masks that make them look more "normal" as in, having human skin colors, hide their horns, tails, etc.
Different kinds of ghouls have certain stuff depending on their element:
Water ghouls have scales, thicker tails and gills. Also they have to be hydrated at all times or they could die. Also they're very fucking small.
Air ghouls have feathers and wings. Some have beaks, some don't
Fire ghouls have shorter and thicker horns, sharper teeth, some have scales, and they're always giving off extreme heat. When a fire ghoul is summoned, they might have to give them something to cool them down so they don't fucking melt everything ig
Earth ghouls are tall as shit, they have longer and thinner horns, and some have moss growing on them
Quintessence ghouls are. Weird. Liek even by ghoul standards
Most of them have like,,, glowing freckles ig??? All over them that sort of look like stars and they're very pretty, they're almost always very big (not as tall as earth ghouls though)
Also speaking abt quintessence ghouls, weird shit abt them: if you anger them enough, they will go into a weird state where they just,,, will pretty much destroy everything and it's very scary and you really don't want to see that. Only two people in Clergy history have seen it and survived. (And those two people were Nihil and Seestor,,, and it may or may not have been Omega after they killed his Terzo)
☆Multighouls☆
It's very common for Ghouls to be born with multiple elements, but the most elements that's physically possible to have is 2
Swiss is an earth and fire ghoul
Sunshine is air and fire
Alpha was fire and quintessence
Surprisingly, Dew is also a multighoul. He's water and fire, but he really hates it so he says he's only a fire ghoul
Special is a multighoul too, but no one actually knows what element he is, mostly bc every time someone asks, he says something different.
