GOOD THINGS FOR APRIL 12TH, 2019:
I wound up being late with these because Star Wars Celebration is happening and that’s really sucked up what free time I have! In honor of that, have some Star Wars fun things!
Day 1 Live Stream of Star Wars Celebration all in one place. While there’s not a ton of new info or announcements, the big news was the teaser trailer, it was still fun to watch a bunch of it!
Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker teaser trailer! I have to hand it to SW, I fully expected to watch the teaser trailer and feel nothing, the ST isn’t really my jam, or even to outright hate it. And I’m still fully convinced that TROS is going to RUIN STAR WARS FOREVER, but goddamn that was an excellent teaser trailer. Everyone LOOKS SO GOOD, the locations look fantastic, and THAT ENDING, the fandom has absolutely exploded and it’s been amazing, I HAVEN’T HAD THIS MUCH FUN AS A SW FAN IN A LONG TIME.
Kelly Marie Tran and JJ Abrams interview. The three best things about the IX panel were: THE TEASER TRAILER, the concept art shots, and having KMT come out and get a standing ovation. To have that carried through when she goes out for her The Star Wars Show interview, that they’re still cheering for her, after all that she faced, was incredible and wonderful and heart-warming to see.
Star Wars - Jedi: Fallen Order trailer! Oh, even if they mess up my Jedi babes and the Jedi lore/philosophy, even if I’m disappointed by having yet another white dude as the lead character (assuming we don’t have character customization/creation), I’m still going to sob my way through this game and all the feelings it’ll give me. Also, INQUISITORS OMG.
Star Wars - Vader Immortal trailer! If nothing else, I at least want a playthrough of this because Maya Rudolph’s droid looks delightful and I want to know the story!
More Galaxy of Adventures shorts! :D R2-D2 - A Pilot's Best Friend, Han Solo vs. the Space Slug, and Darth Vader vs. the Rebel Fleet. All a bunch of fun with some really cool animation--those shots of the flames reflected in Vader’s lenses was especially incredible.
GOOD THINGS FOR APRIL 13TH, 2019:
Fruits Basket episode 2! I haven’t finished it yet (I’m watching it as I gif the hell out of it) but I’ve been enjoying the new anime so much, I love that it has a different feel from the first anime (which I still love very much), that there’s a heavier feeling here, you can tell how the show is much, much more aware of the characters’ upcoming arcs, how so many things are hanging over their heads, in a way that I really like. It’s not adding a lot of necessarily new stuff, but it’s really enjoyable to see it in lovely animation and to get to experience the story all over again, knowing how it comes out and so enjoying the journey on the way there.
Sharp Objects is a show that I’ve been meaning to watch for awhile, since I read the book a few years back (and I think it’s probably my favorite of Gillian Flynn’s books--or maybe the one that frustrated me the least) and I was wondering how the TV adaptation went. I’m only one episode in so far, but I’m enjoying it a lot. I’m really glad they aged Amma up and so far the actors are all doing a really great job and I’m rolling around in my love of complicated, messy, not always nice female characters.
My comfort shows having new episodes! Bob’s Burgers! Buzzfeed Unsolved - The Unexplained Murder of Bugsy Siegel! Killing Eve! The Good Fight! My Little Pony! And Game of Thrones is finally coming back!
GOOD THINGS FOR APRIL 14TH, 2019:
I got sucked into listening to a bunch of Paul F. Tompkins routines clips, after having been away from the comedy scene for awhile, and was DELIGHTED by a bunch of them! Some favorites were:

So, I saw a Reylo dream last night. No, not that kind of a dream, I'm sorry to disappoint you.😄 Although, Finn had definately something romantic going on with KMT's character before that but I don't remember anything about it. I only remember the Reylo part because I woke up straight afterwards.
Rey and Kylo were standing on the edge of a cliff. I think it was the rumoured scene from episode VIII where Kylo supposedly pushes Rey off the cliff. Rey was holding the blue lightsaber but I think Kylo was empty handed. They stood close together looking into each other's eyes. Then Kylo lowered his head until their foreheads were touching, and then their noses were touching, and then boom... There was this big flash of white light. I presume that it was supposed to trigger a flashback in the movie or that it was some kind of a special Force related moment.
I never saw what happened afterwards because the scene changed and suddenly there were all these Reylos celebrating. And they, or rather we, were celebrating hard. People were basically opening champagne bottles and throwing confetti up in the air. And everyone was busy posting celebratory reaction gifs on tumblr and screaming things like "we knew it, we knew they had a special connection, take that doubters!"😄 And then I woke up. I got out of bed while still laughing at that dream and turned on the radio. The first thing I heard was "you gotta fight for your right to party." So yeah, that was interesting.😃
