Hear me out. Castle Kids au. Perry Porter is a Coven Head so Gus has lived in the Emperor's Castle for most of his life and basically grew up with Hunter. Gus is technically not involved with the EC so he's allowed to go to school and live a stable childhood, while Hunter is still tied down by Golden Guard duties and Belos' manipulation. But in spite of all that, the boys are very close.
When the two are 12 and 15 respectively, Coven Head Mason abruptly resigns and is replaced by powerful and level-headed constructionist Gilbert Park. Gus is delighted and excitedly points out a girl to Hunter during Gilbert's ceremony. His best friend from school, Willow!! And now that her Dad is a Coven Head, they're probably going to be seeing a lot of her around the castle!! Isn't that awesome?
And Hunter is like "Oh....great." He's never had to share Gus before.

i think one of my most controversial comic takes is that i judge characters in golden/silver age comics very very differently than i judge characters in even, like, bronze age comics. "that adult man said something weird about a teenage girl" that adult man was written by stan lee.

When Dan was upset with Nate for kissing Jenny, I think it was heartbreaking for Nate. He didn't see that coming from Dan. Love how Chuck is who he settles with lmao 😂 😂 😂.
ohhhh that confrontation BREAKS my heart too! I'll be honest, anon, I fast forward past it because it hurts me so.
I'm going to talk a bit about Catherine, so I am putting this under a cut so anyone who wants to scroll past can
it is such a gut punch, because Dan is the friend who sought Nate out and persisted in helping him after he initially refused it. Like remember the beginning of s2 when Chuck hears about his family's problems and just says "I'll fix it" but when Nate gets defensive Chuck is like "FiNe I dOn'T LoVe yOu EiThEr!" and then later Nate does the same thing with Dan, but the difference is Dan has a grown up that teaches him compassion. anyways that's just a parallel writing this response made me realize and now I want to scream into a pillow.
but really, to Nate, Dan is the generous guy, the kind one, the one who took him in and didn't care about all this moneyed bullshit (and Dan can't offer financial help but he offers Nate a home!!! brb screaming) and Nate thought 1) that he was safe with Dan and 2) that Dan didn't know the full extent of what went down with Catherine, but then Dan throws that knowledge back in his face as if it's proof that Nate isn't good enough to have a home with the Humphreys anymore (it isn't Natie! you are not the problem!!!)
and though I am a certified blorbo apologist, Dan was in the wrong here, and it hurts my heart. I like to make light of it by saying that he was just mad Nate kissed Jenny instead of him, but in all seriousness, that was a shitty thing he did to Nate, and it sucked.
and maybe with that, we have a canonical explanation of why Nate puts up with Chuck's awfulness. because whatever Nate has done while being backed into a corner, he knows Chuck won't hold it against him, or throw it back in his face. and, honestly, Nate knows Chuck's done worse. I don't think Nate is that conscious of it, but there's a safety in that moral superiority for him. That line delivered by Eric in s1: "Guy may have his faults, but he's never judged me."
But, sidenote: this is also indicative of Chuck's horrific double standards and misogyny because when Blair transgresses, he has no trouble holding it over her head for as long as he finds it entertaining.

almost everyone on the dash is asleep, time for night to post cringe lmao
been binging game grumps 10 minute power hours this morning and this episode is still one of my favorites, as someone who went to a circus school for like seven years way back when, so not only does this make me very nostalgic for all of these things (as most of this is what i actually specialized in; duo acrobatics and juggling to be precise, i was never an aerial girlies cause lmao i couldnt develop enough midsection and core strength for that) but i love being able to tell where they are doing right and wrong, and god i just. i still miss this a lot. its been like 13+ years and i just miss it 💜

the first time I heard of martha's vineyard was on gilmore girls so I thought martha was like a friend of emily and richard who owned some big vineyard with a bunch of holiday homes on it so I was very surprised when it turned out to be a real life place

Okay so now I feel like I have to share my headcanon about the au where’s Logan doesn’t show up that night for dinner. They talk, catch up, about his book, her life and he drives her back to her grandparents house when it’s like 4am and he’s about to say goodbye and suggest they might meet again when she walks to her car in the driveway and get a copy of his book to him. Jess a bit confused and say that this copy belongs to her and she just shrugs when she say “well I bought another one. I just wanted to write some notes in the margins for you.” And he just blinks open the book and see so many notes in Rory’s handwriting and he goes like “Huh. I thought you didn’t read much lately.” Because she has told him that during dinner. And she just smiles softly at him starting to back off when she almost at the front door when she says “Well, what is much?” And then “Goodnight, Dodger” and then he just smiles at her and goes “Goodnight, Rory.” Which is direct reference to 2x05 I AM AWARE but also this is my canon.
no bc my jaw literally dropped when i read this because that is so fucking perfect???,!?.??? the parallels in that alone are going to make me loose my mind
also!!!!! it would be a perfect opportunity to still have him talk to her and say that he knows her. He knows her better than anyone. But it’s said in a hushed tone and it’s so soft and not a blowout fight and it’s not because of logan, this is about her.

Oh, also. The people on the thing about Testament's gender are wrong. They purposely made it as Testament found out about themself being nonbinary when they went off from their ire and settled down, basically... they flipped the transphobic narratives within Testament's origin. Also giving a focus on their humanity...
The entire point of it is that Testament realized they were nonbinary when they regained their humanity, after they made their peace with Kliff being death, when they settled with the couple that raised Dizzy, which is funny since he also raided Dizzy alongside Johnny... the whole point was to take out the: "Inhuman character is nonbinary." and "Character gets their body forcefully altered with an emphasis on genitalia." which with Testament's change of attitude I guess they also wanted to take out the: "Trans character is evil and their transness is linked to their evilness."
Guilty Gear is a very wild series, messy in general... but there was very honest attempt to rectify the wrongs they had made with Testament, just like how they did recently with Bridget and they kind of did with Venom on Xrd.
Oh yeah totally! I just thought the way they were arguing about it was kinda funny lol. I can tell the writers intentions with testament’s gender, or at least their Blatant Androgyny, were pretty clear since the beginning, they were just a victim of localization and with a side of just… being written in the late 90’s-early 2000’s. I dont even think there was any real malicious intent behind it, but its still really nice to see them bring testament back and fix things up a bit. Same for bridget! I dont know enough yet to say if theres other characters who need Fixing, but i hope they just keep doing this with the dlc characters. It might justify the price a bit more lol.
