back on neo japan bc ive been thinking so deeply about them. it makes me feel positively INSANE that genda is there - 3 months after the aliea stuff, after shin teikoku, genda is ONCE MORE involved in smth stemming from his desire to be stronger with the undertone of wanting to catch up to kidou sakuma and FUDOU who were all inajapan candidates while he wasnt. of course, it’s out of his own free will this time, not brainwashing and exploitation like shin teikoku, but honestly that makes it all the more crazier to me. and how the parallels arent brought up at all? kidou has a moment of acknowledging hes there in the anime but there is nothing beyond that. genda has assumedly only very recently healed from the injuries he gained from shin teikoku and is already pushing himself to the limit again and FURTHERMORE in the games atsuishi (the reserve keeper….for some reason) has beast fang be his sole keeper move? what the hell are the implications there. genda speak to me.

like from kidou’s perspective, jimon and narukami being there isnt any cause for concern right, they are competitive and its a means for competition between them, but GENDA? who he witnessed destroy himself and have his feelings of inferiority to him exploited by kageyama and the meteorite only months prior??!! genda speak to me.

it also makes me wonder how hitomiko handled it - id like to imagine she wasnt as harsh on genda as the others because of shin teikoku and because she felt responsibility and guilt afterwards over how she allowed the match to continue despite the harm it was causing him and sakuma - maybe its a reason he mastered the infinite wall, as it places less strain on the keeper than other techniques … but i wonder, especially considering what we see of the training. genda speak to me.
