gavin went home twice a year. one week for christmas and one week for easter. both times, he liked to hide away on his father's christmas tree farm, helping out but mostly avoiding anyone from in town. this year marked the first time he'd come home more than once. his father's funeral. gavin spent the first week at home, taking care of the dogs, figuring out what had to be sorted before he left and what he would do with the whole place. eventually he had to go get groceries, he couldn't live off canned soup forever, and luke and leia needed food too. they were big dogs, and they ate far more than he remembered. he climbed into his father's truck, drove back into town and parked at the grocery store, sitting in the truck for a few minutes before he finally forced himself to get the damn job done. it would have been a quick in and out trip, if he didn't run right into someone else as he was entering the store. "fuck!" he cried out, boots slipping on black and white checkered floor, falling back with a hard thud as his shoulder blades screamed out in pain. @queenxfthedxmned
