Art? Appreciation??
Apparently this is a thing so it's time to recognize some favorite FR artists
Gonna start with @fr-ari because they're as amazing of a friend as they are an artist. Their talent knows no bounds and... u know.
@nimrook-fr is an extremely... I just... [fist clench] their art makes me feel things, my guy. It's so... sound and tangible and I feel like the characters they draw are real and I can touch them.
@ningyo-fr also has this quality to their work. The style is has such a grounded quality to it like the figures have weight of their own.
Then there's @brahkest-fr who I'm sure has gotten a couple of tags like this by now. But still, they've an extremely distinctive style and a good head not only for lore writing in general, but for bringing the ideas of others to life.
And @pocketss who I haven't seen in a while but they're a kind soul with a talented hand. Iconic characters and a gorgeous art style that is all at once soft and clean and sketchy and... yes. I agree.
It's been a while since I've spoken to @gainstrive too but they're lovely and their art is the OG goal. Powerful.
@rottclaw has such believable anatomy and everything is so smooth looking and the fabric. I find it... intimidating? Sharp looking.
Ive grown so used to seeing @pearlcatcher over the last... how long has it been?? Instantly recognizable and always a joy to stumble upon again.

Aaahh!! I see you’re looking for something like a bara style! Unfortunately it’s not one of my strong suits. I’m still working to get better at hyper muscular male body types.
I know @gainstrive does tho! They’re another artist I follow and they specialize in bara work.
However, I can of course always make an attempt at it!

Based on the amazing idea from cerillosvillage, gonna list some artists I personally appreciate for their amazing artistic contributions to my clan! I’ll be including their lair ID Numbers, so you can check them out if you’d like!
@cerillosvillage (#39268) sold me Turaco, one of my all-time favorites! Look at her colors! Look at the details! I love it!
Solistare (#390498) made this amazing piece of art for my girl Nelan - I love how dynamic it looks, and how much attention to detail was put into the feathering on her wings!
@tiguidou-rising (#91052) made this for Romelle - and it was made with full artistic liberty, based off only a few prompt words! I really love how it turned out, and they are such a kind person, you should absolutely check them out if you haven’t already!!!
Mykso (#408893) made this for my boy Nada, and I’ll absolutely treasure it forever! I mean, just, like?!?!?!? There’s so much here to gush about that I could write a book, I almost cried when I saw the finished piece for the first time.
And, of course, shoutout to all the other artists I love, respect, and draw inspiration from on this site! Including @renepolumorfousfr , @gainstrive , @bonepriests , @koshkaah-fr , @cecils-dragons , @fleursrising , @alnoots-fr , @hungrytundras , @zweis-fr , @silis-fr , and literally dozens more!

FR Artist Appreciation!
There are SO MANY amazing artists in the FR community, but the top 3 that I find myself going back to and coveting art by the most are @bonepriests, @gainstrive, and @cecils-dragons!
Bonepriests is a very close friend of mine, and I have watched their art grow over the last 4 years, watching them go through all of art school. Their design aesthetic is amazing, taking cues from vintage artists like Charley Harper but with the upscale vibe of modern runway fashion. Their use of shape and color blows my mind and even though I’ve watched them complete a piece from start to finish, I still don’t know how they do it.
Gainstrive is one of the biggest names in the FR art community, for good reason! They have a unique style and they absolutely own it. They are the master of beef, and they serve up a heaping helping of RPG design aesthetics with it. They have some of the cleanest linework I’ve ever seen, and I love the sheer variation you can find in their designs.
Caecilis is an artist that I only noticed fairly recently, but he immediately drew me in with his use of bright, carefree color blocking style. You can tell that all of his designs come from the same person, but there’s a huge variation in silhouette that I’m just in awe of. Each of his designs just screams personality and I always find myself looking forward to his art, be it gijinka sales or just drawings of his OCs.

I need to find someone who can draw Baleen as a Big Girl- she’s really muscular, but also comes from a line of coldwater Guardians so she has a healthy layer of blubber on her. Like, either gijinka or dragon would work.
I suppose I could wait until @gainstrive opens commissions again but... if anybody else is good at drawing that body type? Hit me up, I currently have a reasonably healthy amount of cash money and I need to squander it

Finally got around to coloring the lineart I bought from @gainstrive! I haven’t colored art that I did not draw in a very, very long time, but it was a lot of fun! I’d be very interested in buying gijinka lineart from other artists, for sure!
#flight rising#it was fun bc it made me think about why i color the way i do#my coloring habits are born out of my inking habits/style#so taking a coloring style that was born of being as crisp and smooth as possible and applying it to more loose lines#was really interesting!
