arknights r6s collab thoughts and predictions

really hyped for the new collab. they've revealed fuze and i assume he's going to be the free event operator, which is fine by me since i am a simpleton.

i think they're going to most likely add three new characters, rerun the previous banner and event, add one new event operator (fuze?) and two new gacha operators, one 6-star and one 5-star. unless they're going to go for the same split as the first collab, of two women and two men, one defender and attacker each.

assuming they'll only pick one attacker that's a man, i didn't predict anyone who falls to that category.

Here’s a small recollection of the wildest, most inaccurate takes/HCs I’ve seen on the R6S Reddit. And people there are truly convinced it’s actual lore, it’s baffling. They are all 100% wrong and with no basis in canon in the slightest (some even contradict the lore!), but if I had to read these abominations, so do you. We can all laugh & cry together:

- Fuze killed his family

- Fuze is so dangerous that Kali had to vouch for him so he could get into Six (lmao what is even that timeline)

- Buck burned down an orphanage

- Lion hits his son

- Ying and Warden are married

- Bandit does drugs on the daily and enjoyed his life on the gang / he’s a real bandit criminal that Rainbow hired (undercover? what’s that)

- Glaz commited murder (unspecified when or whom)

Anyway

Barracks bunk assignments under the cut. Why? Well. Fanfic reasons and because if I don't write it down now I'll forget.

Format: Top Bunk - Bottom Bunk

Thatcher - Capitão ( Mute was formerly Thatcher's bunkmate, but Caveira threatened to castrate Capitão and now this is the arrangement. )

Sledge - Alibi ( Smoke begged to bunk with Maestro after their first boxing match. Alibi agreed, but only if she got bottom bunk )

Doc - Montagne ( it was immediately agreed upon, but they usually share one bunk anyway... )

Twitch - Rook ( the played rock paper scissors for who got which bunk )

Jäger - Bandit ( one of those "They're usually on the same bunk anyway" situations, but Jäger prefers to be high up )

IQ - Blitz ( there was a brawling match over top bunk. Blitz learned that IQ is weirdly good at pinning a man down when she wants something. )

Glaz - Tachanka ( Finka jokes that they put two tops in the same bunk. Kapkan continues to tell her to shut it )

Kapkan - Fuze ( in which Tachanka teases Kapkan for finally being a top in something and the hunter threatens to kick his ass )

Ash - Castle ( surprisingly easygoing )

Thermite - Pulse ( Thermite used to be bottom bunk but traded after Pulse rolled out in the middle of the night and needed medical attention for a broken nose )

Frost - Buck ( they're always talking. Always. Frost has 900 trains of thought at any given moment, send help. )

Blackbeard - Valkyrie ( Genuinely, they could sleep through a hurricane. Probably HAVE slept through a hurricane... )

Mute - Caveira ( they're besties, actually, and she does his makeup )

Hibana - Echo ( she actually volunteered for top bunk because he looked dejected at the idea of actually climbing into bed. She teases him about being lazy )

Mira - Jackal ( Jackal isn't even there most of the time. His bunk is the bottom bunk for ease of containment when he's captured )

Ying - Lesion ( this is primarily because Lesion knew better than to let anyone trade with her. )

Ela - Dokkaebi ( Doki continues to wonder if Ela actually uses her bunk )

Zofia - Vigil ( the not so easygoing bunk, this place is fucking immaculate at all times )

Finka - Lion ( much to his dismay )

Smoke - Maestro ( a disaster duo. One always has more bruises than the other. Mute continues to tease Smoke about sexual tension )

Maverick - Clash ( formerly inverse until the first time he had a night terror and punched her in the side through the mattress )

Nomad - Nokk ( nomad: I have a bunkmate??? )

Mozzie - Kaid ( Kaid refused to share with a woman, and his choice was respected. Unfortunately for Kaid, he doubted a man could be so... much. )

Amaru - Gridlock ( they're remarkably laid back, Amaru chats on and on about adventures, and Gridlock listens with a patient ear. )

Goyo- Warden ( Goyo complains that he got bunked with discount James Bond, Warden complaina that he got bunked with off-brand Indiana Jones. Everyone else laughs. )

Ok hear me out, Fuze/Ying- nah just kidding Fuze/frost?

Not for me, but I could picture it:

Tina corners him in the lab, carrying a half destroyed mat and gesturing angrily towards his cluster gadget and him. She’s angry but he just laughs, eventually she ends up laughing too because his is infectious and he’s grinning at her in a warm way. She accuses him of actively going out of his way in sims to destroy her mats and he doesn’t deny it, turns out he’s scared of stepping in one. They banter a little between them, ends with Fuze agreeing to help her reinforce and strengthen her mats to withstand explosive pressures, in return she has to go on a date with him. Frost expects to hate it and wants to just get it over and done with, and though it’s awkward at first it turns out that Fuze is actually a lot of fun outside of work and very goofy, she has a blast and asks him out on a second date by the end of the night.

Ok yeah I can see it, but I’m always a sucker for f/f though as it has a stupidly low number of siege fics on AO3

Far from Friends

Ops that Nav is not friends with and will probably never be friends with

Kali

No explanation needed.

Ying

Since Nav is really good friends with Fuze, there is no way in hell she would be friends with Ying. She also finds Ying to be too stuck up for her liking.

Thermite

Very similar to his relationship with Clash. The two are far too different to be "civil" with each other.

Wamai

Also no explanation needed

Warden

I know, surprising. But I see their relationship being semi-similar to her and Thermite's.

Black Beard

There is a pattern with some of these. Nav came from a family who basically shoved becoming a soldier down her throat. She can't stand people who are the same.

Ace

Oh, there are so many things wrong with Ace in Nav's eyes. She finds his hunger for publicity disgusting. He is the one person she will make disgusted faces at. She literally cannot stand him at all.

I'm curious about that BodySwap fic

I always keep meaning to continue that one (it has like a page and half written) but I keep getting distracted by other ideas and projects, lmao. Long story short, it's a bodyswap between Ying and Fuze. It's not a shippy fic, more like focused on their panic and shenanigans trying to pass as each other until they find out what's going on. And in the process learning to be more tolerant of each. If I remember correctly, the idea was to have Fuze help Ying stand up to her family (who keep pressuring her to settle down and she just avoids them), and Ying helps him find the courage to confess his feelings to... I never decided if it'd be Fuze or Glaz tbh.

But as nice as the idea sounded in my head, ultimately I'm a smut writer and any explicit idea for one of my ships always ends up having preference and so this one keeps being on hold.
