Returning to Lunar Cove just in time for a full moon was either going to be a blessing or a curse, and Nico didn’t expect any middle ground between the two. He’d made his way through addressing the pack—picking up on a lot of eyebrows and speculation as he did. Although, it really didn’t go as badly as he’d feared, and there seemed to be more relief on faces than there was doubt about his abilities. That all could change in a moment once the moon rose, though. For so long now it had just been him and Esha, out alone and doing their best to manage the changes wherever they were—hiding in caves in national parks, sticking to the edges of small towns, and on more than one miserable occasion they’d had to make do with a fortified basement or cellar. He was glad those days were behind him, but if someone was going to test his strength as Alpha, he feared that tonight might be their opening. 

But he remembered a lot of the routine his mother had drilled into him like it was yesterday. A good Alpha, she would say, doesn’t just concern herself with how the pack functions on a full moon, but also secures the area before they change, to make sure no one wanders where they shouldn’t. The pack runs were reserved for their use alone, but it was important to double-check the surrounding area just in case. With that in mind, he approved scouts to head out to the various borders of the runs, checking to make sure the trails were well and truly emptied. They’d reported back a few stragglers, escorted them out to safety. Now he was making his own rounds, skirting the edges of the woods with his senses sharp. He picked up a scent, and walked towards it, hands in his pockets and a smile on his face as he approached a figure turned away from him. “Hey, there. I’m a volunteer with the park staff. These trails are closed for the night, do you need help finding your way out?” he offered casually. His mother had always said it was fine to frighten them a bit if it got the job done, but Nico wanted to avoid that if he could. It always left a sour taste in his mouth.

“So does this mean I get free rent for at least a week?” Binna asked coming out of the bathroom with her robe from the inn on. She was mostly joking but if Reese actually going to cut her a break for sleeping together then she wasn’t about to turn a gift down. “I mean if not I really gotta start getting clients.” She told Reese with a laugh before falling onto the bed with a sigh. “I have to say I thought this town would be way more into dancing or ice skating. I mean what do you all actually even do for fun around here? Not to knock your town but this place isn’t exactly huge.” Rolling over onto her stomach as she looked at Reese. “Doesn’t it get boring doing the same thing everyday or do you all just secretly hate new comers?” She asked teasingly.

Poppy had to admit the undie run in the middle of February was a good idea until she was actually outside in her underwear and her coat. “Holy shit it’s freezing.” Using her fire flame for warmth for her and Reese. “I swear I’m not drunk enough for this.” She complained, she took a drink from her beer. “Are you ready for this?”

Poppy wasn’t sure what she needed, but everything she’d tried so far hadn’t worked to numb any of what she was feeling. So now she was at the last hope which was trying to talk some of this out with Reese or literally anyone not related to her. “Do you want something to drink?” She asked finally to break the silence. “I have lots of alcohol in here. Perks of running the bar.” She told her as she grabbed a wine glass from the cabinet and filled it up with the cheap box wine that she kept around for some of the regulars. While she wasn’t a traditional wine drinker at least the wine had some juice in it, which probably was good for her since she’d pretty much been drinking only straight alcohol. “So... I know the murders are like the hot topic and important thing, but like..... I honestly can’t focus on any of that.” Not after she’d learned everything she had from Jasmine. “I found out I have a sister.” She stated bluntly. “Well more than just Briar.....” Taking a long drink from the glass, she polished off half of it. “Also my dad is alive and clearly there’s a lot more than I remember.”

Safiye looked down at the tiny husky in her arms, she was desperate to put it down so she didn’t end up adopting a dog. “Hey,” Saying to the person who was coming up next to her. “Here this puppy wants held.” Handing off the puppy who whimpered as it was handed off to the next person, it made her heart ache. Even though likely Azra wouldn’t be upset by the addition of a dog the last thing she wanted to do was make the decision without her sister. “If I held her for any longer I was going to end up adopting her.” She admitted, putting her hands on her hips. "Whoever decided to have this event is just cruel."

“I’m fine I promise.” She reassured Reese, even lifted up her shirt with her bugles covered fingers to show Reese where she’d been stabbed. There wasn’t a scratch or mark anymore, it was just as it had always been. Thankfully Forrest had healed her in the moment, then she’d made Meena wait out the time with her to make sure that nothing happened and she didn’t wake up with fangs she didn’t ask for. “Both Forrest and Meena checked me over and made sure I was healed and had blood.” While she should have been basically invincible using as much magic as she did made her vulnerable. “So did you dance with anyone cute?” She asked tapping Reese’s nose with a bugle.
