So, in case people haven’t been paying attention, this shady scheme has been going in the background since the Spring. Short version, some guy who owns about seven companies headquartered in one office room of an old building on the property of the St. Peter’s Basilica in London, Ontario, teamed up with a christian “spirituality” motivationsl speaker and some of the heads of the Freedumb Convoy, and planned to build an “embassy” for ‘The United People of Canada’, an organization they made up, by buying a deconsecrated church in Ottawa. Their symbol is a mix of the Tree of Gondor symbol, but re-coloured white on red (both for the Canadian colours but also a reference to whiteness and blood), with roots shaped into the semblance of am Odal rune. Being that Komer, the chief executive of TUPOC is a dude whose roots are in advertising, the group is heavily invested in selling merch.

Where does the money for the fund (Komer registered another corporation called The Magna Carta Fund no doubt for this occasion) come from? A lot of it comes from a christian financier also from London, Ontario, who claims he only has good intentions with the project; “good” intentions including turning the neighbourhood of Ottawa’s St. Brighid’s Church (The Embassy) into a “Disneyland-like” theme park with a hotel where people with no money could reside for free. That’s despite the fact that just down from the building where TUPOC is headquartered in London, a shelter for the homeless need to push their residents out into the street due to the heat wave being lethal indoors, and the shelter not receiving the funds it needs to install air conditioning. Oh, and London’s support workers for the homeless population are so distressed at how bad the homelessness crisis has gotten in this city that they are going on a hunger strike. But I doubt you’ll see the TUPOC lift a finger to help those in need in their own backyard.

So last night 2 convoy protesters tried to burn my building down (i live in the downtown core, right in the middle of the convoy occupation). A bunch of us tenants individually asked the receptionist about it. He's a vocal convoy supporter and so he was acting clueless and downplaying the incident, blamed it on homeless people trying to warm up and refused to call the police. We organized and called the superintendent and demanded that he show us the footage and file a police report. The footage showed 2 men lighting a box of firestarter pellets next to a wood plank wall and leave. Luckily a tenant arrived shortly afterwards and kicked the box outside and dumped snow on the burning pieces. This was at 3-4am. The whole building would have caught fire while people were sleeping if it wasn't for the tenant who happened to come in late at night. These people are fucking MONSTERS.

Today in Ottawa for winter pride. A right wing extremist group better know for the population as the freedom Convoy. Came and protested the drag queen story time event. 3 people got arrested as last time I know 1 for throwing things at the counter protest. 1 for trespassing as he was « wondering » in the building it was hosted and the 3rd one I’m still not sure. The queer community gathered and made sure everyone was safe to participate in the event as walls were created to let in and out the kids and there parents.

Freedumb Convoy on the Highway to Hell.

William Komer and his goons from the freedumb convoy’s own cult, The United People of Canada, have been evicted from St. Brigid in Ottawa. Komer is appealing the court’s decision against his TUPOC cult but the group is gone (at least for now).

"So let's address that and then you can run off and I'll continue to break down the MOU and break down how it is an authoritarian attempt to overthrow a democratically elected government.

This is from Canada Unity and their official demands, which includes Tamara Lich, who is one of the main original organizers.

On the third paragraph of the first page they define the federal government as the Senate and the Governor General, excluding the House of Commons. So the two branches of the federal government that are not elected and excluding the one branch of the federal government that is elected.

Then outline that any government official unwilling to comply with the demands within the MOU must resign their lawful positions of authority immediately.

Again, here they suggest that the accord is between the Senate and the Governor General. Both are not elected. And it does not include the House of Commons. Doesn't include the Liberal government, it doesn't even include the official opposition. But it does include unelected convoy members, an unelected Senate, an unelected Governor General. So you're not fighting for democracy. That's clear.

The MOU then demands that the Senate and Governor General, federal entities, overrule provincial and municipal rulings. So you're advocating for the breaking of our Constitution. You can't advocate for the upholding of the Charter and also advocate for the breaking of the Constitution. Sections 91 and 92 define provinces as a separate jurisdiction to the federal government. So you're not demanding the protection of our Constitution, that much is clear.

And finally, yeah. Freedom fighters? If you're fighting for something that doesn't include the freedom of press, and the ability of press to criticize you, especially to criticize you, you're not advocating for freedom. You're advocating for an authoritarian regime.

Tell me you don't know what you're supporting without telling me you don't know what you're supporting. But we're the sheep. Bah!"
