Pavel - Research

To start things off, here's a few ideas I have to get our creative minds flowing. Firstly, I thought it might be cool use the unreal engine workflow Neil showed yesterday (as we are mainly a 3D team) and also to have the dome as a particular vehicle of sorts, e.g. Spaceship, submarine etc. There is a lot we could do with this, as the vehicle can travel and things can happen outside the window. Here's a cool example of this, the Bioshock Intro:

Another cool example, looking from the cockpit of the International Space Station’s cupola. The cockpit is dome shaped as well which makes it even easier to imagine working well in our dome.

Another reason why something like this could work nicely is because we could divide the tasks quite effectively, for instance one of us can work only only on the cockpit, while one or two can work only on the environment, and so on.

Contrast and Narrative To compliment these ideas, I think an effective way to add a more interesting dimension to them is with a short Good -> Bad narrative. For instance, using the submarine idea as an example, the audience walks into the dome which is the submarine above sea level and a radio/cheerful voice says something along the lines of "Welcome onboard the tour to the deep! Please make yourselves comfortable and we shall be leaving in 10.. 9.. 8.. etc" Then, the vehicle launches into the water and as it goes deeper, it gets darker and murkier as the sunlight and godrays fade. There are creepy sounds suddenly such as from the generator of the submarine which sound something like:

Eventually the submarine can get hit by something or scratched, for the audience it becomes apparent they're not alone. Then later on, the glass begins to crack etc and so on. Inspiration

Furthermore, I would like to post a few other ideas for inspiration. Here's a few by one of my fav artists (Beeple). He makes loads of CG loops that have music, they're quite abstract and interesting.
