"Four women at Arizona State University ASU had their hijabs removed by police following their arrest. In the blurred image, the police are seen removing the hijab from one of the four women and subsequently placing a hoodie over her head after she asked for it to be placed." from Land Palestine, 29/Apr/2024:

اللهُمَّ إنَّا نستَودِعُكَ غَزَّة وأبطَالها
وجنُودها وشبَابها وأهلهَا وأطفَالها
وأرضهَا وسمَائها ومائها وهَوائها
اللهُمَّ احفَظها وسَائر فلسطِين
من مكرِهِم وشرّهم حفظاً يليقُ
بعظمتك وعزَّتِك وقُدرتك يا الله
Ya Allah, we entrust to You Gaza and its heroes, its soldiers, its youth, its people, and its children. We entrust to You its land, its skies, its waters, and its air.
Ya Allah, protect it and all of Palestine from the schemes and evil of those who seek to harm them, with a protection befitting Your greatness, might, and power, ya Allah.

While so many of us struggle to wear the hijab each day, these Palestinian women are standing as a representative of purity.
Imagine not knowing which second of the day would be your last. Not because of a natural death but because someone decided your life was unworthy to be lived.
And all you could worry about is whether or not someone will find your rubbled body without a scarf.
That's the true meaning of devotion to Allah.

Nothing fucks me up reading The Mandalorian fanfic quite like randomly coming across a writer who just shamelessly bashes the Creed Din and his covert follow purely because they cover their faces.

It's international women's day. White feminists will speak about the hijab being "oppressive" but will not speak about the IOF abducting Palestinian women, stripping them of their hijab, and denying them the right to wear it.
It's international women's day. White feminists will tell you the importance of making period products free, but will remain silent when Palestinian women and little girls in Gaza have to use leftover fabric from tents because aid is blocked and they don't have pads.
It's international women's day. White feminists will gladly share fake accusations -which have been debunked- about mass rapes against Israeli women, but will completely ignore the sexual violence and rape threats Palestianian hostages have been and are subjected to in Israeli prisons.
It's international women's day. White feminists will scream about women's education and the Taliban -even though they only use it for their Islamophobic agendas, not out of concern- and they will remain silent when we say schools and universities in Gaza have been bombed, and there is an educational crisis.
Stop looking the other way. Stop being silent. Free Palestine.

Sorry for being late to post about Ramadan (school's been hell recently), but I thought I could take the opportunity to highlight some Muslim dolls! While there aren't many, one of my favorites is Fulla! For those unaware, Fulla was made by the company NewBoy FZCO and has been running since 2003! (MASSIVE thanks to Dollect for most of the information on her, at least throughout her early run in the 2000s) According to Dollect, some of the first dolls released of her with a hijab was in 2005 from the "Fulla with Abaya" sets, which apparently had embroidery on the sleeves! I love the long skirts, they give me Flower Power Barbie vibes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There were also apparently "Outdoor Fashion" dolls with a surprise element where beneath their Abaya they'd be wearing an outfit of a specific color out of purple, pink, and green. They were MILES ahead of the surprise toy gimmick of the 2010s.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, I can't find exactly what their outdoor outfits looked like? There aren't any images of them on Dollect, though I suppose these might be them? No confirmation of such, of course, but I found the pink one labelled for 2004 on another website.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It seems to check out with the description of having purple and pink variants in the outfit, but the beige and black leads me to believe these might be another release entirely... regardless I adore the detail in these coats! Anyway, I'll be posting about these more soon, but for now I better get back to that homework I just got distracted from lol. If you guys know of any other Muslim dolls you'd like me to post about feel free to send an ask!
Ramadan Kareem!
(Edit: Y'all thank you so much for the traction but please check out my reblogged edits to this post, I lowkey fumbled the info on the mystery outfits the first time around 😭)

The Islamic Republic: we canceled the morality police!
Iranians: so?! Does that change the fact that you have committed genocide in Kurdish cities and Zahedan? Does that restore people's eyesight that you took from them with your rubble bullets? Does that bring back to life almost 500 murdered protesters in the last 3 months, among them at least 60 children? Does that bring back to life 1500 people you massacred in 2019 and those you executed afterwards? Or the 30000 people you executed in the first decade of your rule? And everyone you've arrested, raped, tortured and executed in between simply because they didn't agree with you? Does that mean current executions are stopped? Does that mean tens of thousands of arrested protesters are free? Does that mean fired or suspended students are back to classes and can get an education? Does that mean the poverty threshold is no longer so absolutely high that even the once above average families are considered absolutely poor? Does that erase 40 years of apartheid? State racism? State misogyny? Inequality? Have you stopped bothering religious minorities and are giving them their basic human rights back? Does that mean there's no more child marriages? Legal rape? Does that mean you no longer kill and torture LGBTQ people? Does that make up for the environmental disaster you've caused in Iran? Water shortage? Bewildering fuel shortage? All the lakes and water bodies that are dry now and the jungles that has been destroyed? Currently northern jungles are on fire, are the trees restored? Does that mean you no longer execute environmental activists because they object your unscientific environment policies? Does that mean all censorships and restrictions are lifted? Does that end your meddling in other countries affairs? Does it mean you're not a bunch of thieves and murderers who know nothing about running a country? Does that make up for all the lives you've destroyed? And most importantly does that bring Mahsa Amini back to life???
It's too late for that. Iranians have been loud and clear. We won't sit down until this regime is completely and irreversibly changed. The whole government system, the constitution, and the people in powers. And those who committed crimes have to be put on trial.
(The morality police have been around under different names for almost the entirety of this regime. This is just a temporary stop. Even if the morality police is disbanded for good, compulsory hijab is still a law and it's illegal to not wear appropriate clothing. Any police force is able to arrest non hijabis since they're doing something illegal, it's not an exclusive morality police duty. Plus the morality police was just enforcing hijab in the streets. What about every governmental and private offices and institutions? They all have to enforce mandatory hijab on both their employees and costumers So this news means literally nothing. West media should research these things better before publishing misleading informations)
I strongly recommend everyone to go to #MahsaAmini in twitter and read iranians tweets. Like, I strongly recommend it. I even put the link to make it easier for you. Just click on it.

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free
Here is my long overdue drawing of a Palestine critter having a picnic by the river. I designed this one based on the mountain gazelle, which is the national animal of Palestine and worked in a watermelon design into her hijab and dress. I also looked up actual Palestinian dishes to include in the picnic, like the awameh in that bowl there.
I hope I got nothing wrong in my language there.
