i read once a phrase in a manga that i like, it is “even if my actions turn out to be a mistake, if my heart was in the right place, that’s all that matters to me”, while watching episode 8 of my school president i could only thing about that.

tinn is a good student, he will surely have a lot of opportunities to aspire to a good college but still his mom wants him to take the opportunity that she wants for him. tinn doesn't dislike that, after all, at this point being a doctor is something he plans for his future. but he has to choose between something that can be useful for his future or to support gun in his performance.

tinn loves gun, he has done it for two years. and in his last year of school, he needs a change, he wants to finally be able to be next to gun. after some time, he's been through a lot but he is able to convey his feelings, he can be by gun’s side. but now he has to choose.

there’s gun. for tinn this is something he has always wanted, he did a lot of things for this, at first he didn't even want to be the school president, he did it for gun. even when his mom told him that he should do it for his portfolio, he didnt care that much.

but when he noticed he could help gun, he did it. although he was afraid that gun would hate him because of the rumors that he wanted to end his club.

there’s his mom. tinn knows that if he chooses to follow the path his mother wants, he can achieve things, he would make his mom proud. tinn loves his mom. although he does things for gun, he thinks of his mom, when gun needed help with the tutor, he was afraid that his mom would find out because she would be angry if he helped gun. he always stays in the line between loving gun and avoiding problems with his mom. when he wanted to stay with gun for the tutorship, he pushed a little for his mother to accept but when he knew that he was not going to be able to, he abandoned the idea. then his father helped him. in this episode he again tried to get his mom to let the band stay at the school, and he succeeded because he offered his mom that he would take care of it, but I think that if his mom hadn't accepted that, he would be sad and he would leave it at that, trying to help gun in other way.

tinn stayed in that line this whole time but now he cant, he knows gun would not be mad if he doesnt go, but he knows that for himself, not going would feel bad, he would be full of regret. he also doesn't want to disappoint his mom, if he can he would like to stay in that line where he can be by gun’s side and his mother. but there are a lot of things that he has to think deeply: his mother reaction, her feelings, gun’s feelings and even his own. but overall it is a war between love and future, between wanting to be a good son for his mom and wanting to go and be happy cheering on gun.

at first he tried to think that he is doing the right thing when he decides to go to the school and waits to see the interviewer, but at some point, he just knows he can't deny the truth in his heart. when his mother is talking to him, he knows he doesnt feel happy being there, he knows what his heart wants. he needs to be with gun. it is no longer a matter of what is right or wrong, or who he can disappoint by his actions. he just wants to do what his heart is telling him, even if in the end not being in that room with the one who will do his interview is a mistake, he doesnt care anymore, he knows that not being by gun’s side at that moment is something that he will never forgive himself for. choosing what his mom wants is not a bad thing, she does it because she cares about tinn, but for tinn, staying with her, not crossing the line because he is afraid of disappointing her, is more painful.

there are things in life that only happen once, tinn had two on the same day, but if he stayed in the line, even if he could keep going after that, his heart would not be able to. perhaps for many it is more important to think logically, after all "it's just a puppy love" vs his future, but when people abandon what they really want for the idea of making other people happy, their hearts are left with wounds that will never heal and with “what ifs” without answer.

i dont think that tinn did a bad or a good thing, and we don't know what repercussions it will have for him. but he has always wanted to stand next to gun, he has done many things, and at the end of the day, gun has also done things for him, one of them is gun being his inspiration to be a doctor.

If he doesn't cross the line, being a doctor, the thing that comes later, doesn't make sense. everything he's done to be able to be close to gun, is meaningless if he can't be there when he wants it the most and when gun needs it the most.

i dont think this is about if is logical or if is something stupid, because the only thing that matters is that, at least, in that moment when he made his decision, his heart was at the right place. tinn place was by gun’s side.
