ALSO! i had to find out MYSELF that chuuya's ability was actually colored black. It didn't emit any glowing light or anything. he could just use it to hide in shadows! Like hi???? that's so cool???

#tbh the anime did a huge disservice to chuuya's design #chuuya having a rather muted palette in the manga. brown eyes. light red hair most of the time bordering on brown in the colored art #his clothes are mostly dark shades of sepia tones. his vest is a dull red in the manga. like #his color palette is so low key. it's so ordinary..#harukawa tends to use muted color schemes in some of her art but it's all very precise #idk there's just something so particular about harukawa's chuuya specifically that all the other official artists/anime dont quite capture #wahhhhhh i could obsess over his designs forever and ever #can't believe asagiri and harukawa created the Most Guy Ever

This look is so iconic yet so underrated...

I know the change from here to Meobius/Toman was really extreme but knowing that this was approximately 1 year after Cram school Kisaki ... he also changed a lot in that time

He looks so sweet and timid before meeting Takemichi, but afterwards he has such a creepy aura. I love that Wakui Ken added this detail: that he changed so much before even being "reborn" as a delinquent.

The range of appearances Kisaki has throughout the series is really excellent in showing his headspace and where he is in life as well as in his plan, and I will always applaud Wakui Ken for it. For his enigmatic character, this sort of visual storytelling is especially important.
