NOW WHO EXACTLY ARE THESE CLOWNS?

blue beetle II, aka theodore "ted" kord, was created by steve ditko and first appeared as a backup feature in 1966 in charlton comics' captain atom series. he later got his own short-lived solo, before the charlton heroes were acquired by DC in the mid-80s and integrated into the DC universe via the crisis on infinite earths crossover event. ted had a solo run in the 80s, but is perhaps best known for being a central and founding member of the justice league international, where he met his lifelong best friend booster gold.

booster gold, aka michael jon carter, was created by dan jurgens and first appeared in his 1986 solo series as the first new major character introduced to the post-crisis DC universe. booster soon joined the justice league international, and has since had two really good solos and featured prominently in 52. he's most well known as the fame-hungry time-travelling hero with a heart of gold, as well as the blue beetle's best friend.

together, they're known for being fun-loving heroes, the personification of the 'bwa-ha-ha' era of the justice league, and one of the best friendships in the DC universe.

i've compiled a catalogue of every single comic appearance of both of these characters, as well as highlighting what i consider 'essential' blue & gold reading. each issue is also marked with whether they're both in it, whether/to what degree they interact, content warnings, and my own personal notes (some of which might even be useful to people other than me).

Opening a post of someone on here asking for skincare recs and seeing every single one suggested either fall under “company that directly states their support for israel” or “company that does business with israel” was very jarring, are you guys seriously limiting yourselves to the bds list and “there is no ethical consumption under capitalism” excusing yourself for every other thing you buy? Like the bds list is the bare MINIMUM. You’re bare minimum-ing your support for divesting from an apartheid state & limiting your financial impact for the continuation of the genocide against Palestinians? Not redoing his whole ref, just his humanoid form since I am getting into getting comms of my ocs after about 12 years of vehemently not buying any for whatever reason.

Sunday Summary

Kinkmeme 2 is so not getting finished today. Womp womp, I was so optimistic, but Eddie's dick is just not cooperating (Chrissy said, with a wink). Also, it's very fun writing a BDSM scene without the strictures of safe words and modern day sensibilities because these ding-dongs do not have access to that, so they are flying by the seats of their respective pants!

Anyway, I enjoyed reporting out on progress last week, so here it is again (I am very prolific currently, likely because I have a lot of deadlines, which makes me frantic):

The closer I get to finishing this bad boy, the less I want to write it, because then it'll be done and I'll be so, so sad! However, I rewrote parts of Chapter 25 this week, and finished the first draft of Chapter 32. Current count is 37 chapters total, but 37 is an epilogue.
